Adagio was sitting on the apartment rooftop when she saw Sunset's phoenix transformation.

After a horrible failure at the Battle of the Bands, Sonata and Aria went back to their apartment while Adagio was plotting for revenge. She cried in rage and escaped to the rooftop of an old building, and saw a happy Sunset Shimmer floating in the air with her fiery phoenix wings. And Adagio thought of a brilliant plan.
Art By Me.

My Past is not Today

"Boooo!!! Boooo!" The crowd was yelling as the three Dazzlings ran off stage. Adagio was breathing heavily to compose herself, Aria was groaning and clenching her fists. Sonata was whimpering and taking tiny steps to catch up with her fellow friends.

"I can't believe this! No! NO! It was going so WELL!" Tears leaked Adagio's eyes as she pulled her hair.

Sonata held Adagio's shoulder. "Dagi, breathe. You've never acted like this. Why don't we go to Taco Bell? It's just around the corner."

"Well you should shut your big mouth! Do I have to shove a horse in it!?" Adagio screamed and shoved Sonata. "You've always spoiled my plans, you've always embarrassed us, and so you've ruined me! So LEAVE YOU TACO IDIOT!"

Sonata cried hardly. "Why are you so cruel!?" and she ran away back to their apartment, sobbing with her food stained magenta dress.

Aria had enough and pinned Adagio onto the brick wall. Adagio squirmed and kicked but Aria was too strong. "WHAT THE HECK ADAGIO!? This is not how a leader should act! Sure, Sonata is the dumb and the quirky one, but she makes us whole! Some leader."

Aria sighed and let go of Adagio, she kneeled on the ground and breathed heavily. Aria let a tear escape and chased after Sonata.

Adagio shakily stood up and gloomily and walked the opposite direction to the café. Aria's right. I'm going crazy. I shouldn't have snapped at Sonata. It's all the Rainbooms fault! It's them who I should be yelling at! But what plan should I plot? All my plans have failed. What's the point! Nobody adores me! Not even my bestest of friends! And they were the only friends I've ever had! Adagio slammed the café door open and hardly sat in her seat and buried her head in her messy hair and arms. She cried as hard as she could. "I- I- It's n- not f- fair!" She gasped between sobs.

Mrs. Cake walked over to a messed up Adagio. She was confused by her appearance. With her food stained dress and ruined hair. But she smiled and asked, "What can I get you?"

Adagio sat up and yelled. "Be quiet you old lady!"

Mrs. Cake sharply looked at her and stomped away. Adagio sighed and trudged out the door. But someone was watching. A hot pink haired girl named Pinkie Pie had her Rainboom dress on but with a raincoat and umbrella. She yelled after Adagio. "HEY! It's going to rain!! You need an umbrella!"

Adagio ran faster and faster, never stopping, until she managed to sit on the rooftop of her apartment building. "UUUGGGHHH! Why can't I get over it!?"

"Cause my past is not TODAY!" Adagio heard a beautiful voice on the next building. She peeked and found a cheerful Sunset Shimmer, with her fiery red and yellow hair, along with her blue dress and, phoenix wings!?

"Wh-What!?" Adagio said.

Sunset heard a shocked voice and turned around. Her wings faded until they disappeared. "Who's there?"

Adagio gasped and hid in the corner. Sunset grabbed her jacket and walked downstairs. Then at that very moment it rained hard. "Hmmm... How did she get so much power?"

Stupid rain! Whatever. I have to tell Aria and Sonata this! She put her hoodie on her head and ran downstairs to tell her conflicted friends.

After a nice, steamy shower, and fresh cozy pajamas, Sonata grabbed some hot cocoa and a burrito and sat down to watch Power Ponies. Aria did the same, only with some tea. They both stayed silent for approximately thirty minutes just enough to finish one episode. "Ari, please don't be mad, but why were you harsh to Dagi? I mean, even though she scarred me for life, doesn't mean you can almost smash her to death," Sonata muttered to break the silence.

Aria sighed and looked down. "Look, she wasn't acting like herself lately, and you are my sister/friend. I can't let you sit on the sidewalk feeling miserable." She looked up and smiled. "Even though I say you're the worst, doesn't mean I hate you."

She stood up to refill her mug. "And certainly doesn't mean I want you to leave me forever."

Sonata smiled, a small one, but it was enough to giggle. "Well then, I-"

DONG DONG! "Eep!"

Aria set her tea down on the coffee table and walked towards the door. "Who could be here at this hour?"

She opened the door to see a soaked Adagio who looked like she had a severe hangover. "Sigh. Umm, hi Dagi, why are you here?" Aria asked with a concerned look on her face.

"No time to explain. I need to tell you everything. Sorry about earlier. I didn't know what came over me," Adagio panted. Water was now overflowing the welcome carpet.

"Sure. Whatever." Aria gestured Adagio inside.

Adagio took a nice, warm bath and put on a nightgown. "Okay, so..."

"WHAT? REALLY!?" Sonata and Aria asked in perfect sync.

"Yes! With wings and everything! In the Battle of the Bands she didn't have those things!" Adagio said.

"Are you sure you haven't went loco in the coco?" Sonata stuck her tongue out.

Adagio giggled. Aria knew she has never giggled this much ever since. "Positive. And we have to get that power to restore out pendants."

Sonata suddenly became serious. "Well, Shimmie did transform with the Rainbooms. And that can't happen. Unless, she possesses an element of harmony!"

Aria and Adagio never knew Sonata was that smart. But she continued. "So we'll have to gather our broken pendants, go back to Equestria with that portal in front of the school, steal the seventh element of harmony that Shimmie possesses, wherever it is, gather it's energy, then we'll be powerful again!"

Adagio applauded. "I can't believe this. But Sonata, you're a pure evil genius!"

Sonata smile widely. "Really? Yippie!"

Aria smiled then ran to her room, then she ran back. She brought a pouch containing the broken pendant jewels. "Then lets go."

An Adventure to Remember

And so the journey begins. They packed everything they needed. Including food, water, and a tent just in case they need to travel overnight. I'm sorry I got you girls into this. Adagio thought as she swung the backpack over she shoulder. She checked on Sonata and Aria. They both have tan backpacks equipped along with their original clothing. "Ready?" Adagio asked.

Sonata nodded in delight. "Ready as I'll ever be!"

Aria nodded silently in agreement. They walked on the rough sidewalk, with clanging noises in their backpacks to keep them company. As soon as they reached into the portal. They hesitated, waiting who's going to go in first. Adagio made a smirk on her face. "Who's going first? NOT IT!"

"NOT IT!"

"AWW! COME ON!" Sonata wailed. "Do I have to go first?"

Adagio nodded. Her poofy hair bounced along. "Yes. Now go or else."

Sonata slowly put her hand through the portal, a bright, blue hoof came on the other side. "GOO!" Aria pushed Sonata though the portal as hard as she could. Nothing but silence came after that.

Adagio laughed and abruptly pushed Aria into the portal. "See you on the other side!"

Before she could put her hand though the mirror to see a hoof, six girls toppled over her. She tired to escape. But six girls pinning her body on the ground and punching her, isn't helping, at all. "We're not letting you go and wreck havoc into Equestria!" Sunset yelled and tugged at Adagio.

Only Fluttershy was not in that cloud of smoke and dust. She just was peeking around the corner, whimpering with Angel bunny. "PLEASE, STOP!" Adagio shoved Sunset out of the way, and pushed the main 5 to the ground. Before Rainbow and Applejack could grab Adagio's leg, she forced herself through the mirror. With no going back.

Awake from her slumber, Adagio was found in a crystal like castle. With books, more than a person could need! Well, a pony actually. "AAAAAAHHHH! What am I!?" Adagio screamed. Aria shoved her hoof onto her mouth to shut it. "Dagi! Somepony could hear us!" Sonata said.

"Somepony!? Are we ponies now? Where are our backpacks!?" Adagio tried to stand up, but she wobbled like thin spaghetti and plummeted onto the ground multiple times.

Aria rolled her eyes. "Yes. And out bags are beside us. No need to be worrysome."

"Ohhh! Lookie! I have a horn!" Sonata said. She trotted over to a book open on the ground. Her horn glowed a magenta aura and the book did the same. "Come on you stupid book! Float!" Sonata used up all the energy she could possibly use, and she sat on the ground. "Phew! Using magic isn't as easy as it seems."

Adagio and Aria looked up to see that they have horns too. "I know that we're unicorns, but where's our siren form?"

Sonata stood up. "Duh, our pendants, that's what made us sirens in the first place."

"Oh, right."

"Well, we'd better go. Or else someone might find us," Aria said.

Adagio pointed. "Too late."

A purple pony was staring at them, wondering what's going on. Sonata giggled in embarrassment. "Umm, hi! Sorry to barge in like this, but

I was looking for a book on basic unicorn magic. Could you help us?"

The pony tilted her head. But then made a cocky smile. "Of course."

"You look familiar. Have we met?" Adagio asked. That voice, the blue violet mane, that cutie mark, Could she be!?

"I'm Twilight Sparkle. And possibly, you girls look familiar too. Must be fillyhood friends, yes?" Twilight used her magic to give a book to Sonata.

"Ummm, yeah! Fillyhood friends!" Aria gave a weary smile. She was the one to destroy us!

Sonata gasped and shakily stepped back. "You, Twilight?"

"Yes. What are you concerned about?"

Sonata snapped out of it and blushed embarrassedly. "Nothing! Nothing at all!" She used her unicorn magic to turn the page.

Adagio finally stood up. "So, what is that strange portal doing here?"

Twilight sat down on a mat and brought cups of hot, black tea to the three girls. "Well, long story short. Three sirens were trying to be adored so they could rule the world. The Rainbooms called me to help them. The one of those girls had orange hair, another had blue hair, and the last one had purple ha-" Twilight looked shocked as she backed away. "You three are the sirens! How are you unicorns!?"

Adagio giggled nervously. "Well, we..."

Aria butted in. "Wanted to start a new life!" She lied. She dropped the cup of tea, luckily landing on a pillow. "And we were originally unicorns, it was the pendants that made us sirens." (By the way, that was the truth.)

"Okay, I believe you. But you better not do anything stupid! Now..." Twilight calmed herself and lead the three unicorn to a guest room. "Get some rest. It's about ten o' clock at night. Come to think of it, I need sleep too."

After Twilight went to her bedroom across the hallway, they grabbed their backpacks with their magic and slept under cozy, silk beds.

"Dagi, is everything going to be okay?" Sonata whispered.

Adagio tiredly nodded. "Yeah. Don't, yawn worry, Sonata. We'll be okay." And they fell into a peaceful sleep.

"NOO! STOP!" Adagio tried to strangle out of Sonata and Aria's grasp.

"Oh, it'll be quick and painless," Sonata pointed her horn at Adagio's chest.

"You've always disappointed us. What we're doing is something called, payback. Never heard it before? Well it's time to feel it!" Aria and Sonata shot beams of magic at a shaken Adagio.

"NOO!" Just right before the beams touched her, she woke up in her bed in a pool of sweat.

It's just a nightmare. Adagio jumped out of bed and trotted to the little table and chairs to find Sonata and Aria. sipping tea. Sonata looked up and weakly smiled. "Couldn't sleep either huh?"

"Yes. Nightmare." Adagio joined them.

Aria smiled too. "Some brave pony. So, how are we going to escape this humungous place?"

Adagio pointed at a window. "We can climb out. We're not that high above the ground anyway."

Sonata suddenly frowned. "Are we leaving now?"

"Yes. We can't stay here forever." Aria pointed out.

"I just can't get over the fact we tried to rule this peaceful place. One last chance girls. Are you sure you want to do this?" Sonata asked. She looked into the hot, dark liquid.

Aria and Adagio looked at each other, then hesitantly nodded. "I'm sorry. It's our role in this world."

The three tired and gloomy ponies opened the window and jumped out, and ran into the Everfree Forest.

Their journey is about to begin.

Creeps in the Night

"Dagi, are you sure we're going the right way?" Sonata asked Adagio as they silently creeped through the Everfree Forest.

It's now midnight in Equestria. And while ponies are sleeping in their comfy little beds, the three ponies were walking on the damp moss. Crickets chirped, creatures lurked and swallowed in the darkness, and the moon was the only bright thing in the sky, and no, it's not made of cheese.

Aria insisted that they should rest for the night. And Sonata and Adagio willingly agreed. "Finally, my hooves are aching so hard," Adagio sighed in relief.

As Aria set up the sleeping bags and tent, and Adagio prepared dinner, Sonata had the duty to find firewood. Okay, Sonata. Time to put your magic ability to the test. How do you use that illuminating spell again? she thought as she trotted deep into the forest. She stopped and looked back. Sonata could no longer see her two best friends. "Okay, c-calm d-d-down, S-Sonata. You c-can do this. Just us the illuminating spell."

Her horn glowed a magenta color, and after five minutes, she successfully made a light just enough to see a least a yard of the forest. And guess who decided to greet her? A manticore!

"Uh, hi! I'm Sonata. I'm sure you don't have a name, but could you please not hurt me? It's been a bad day." The manticore tilted it's head and started to crawl towards a helpless Sonata.

"NO! PLEASE DON'T HURT ME! I DON'T WANT TO DIE! AHHHHH!"

The manticore rushed towards her, with sharp claws ready to slice her. Sonata looked back, trees closed up on her, making a natural cage. "Get back!" Sonata shot a magic beam onto the manticore's arm. It screamed and shoved Sonata with his body. And after a scrape of the manticore's claws, it huffed and crawled away.

"Did you hear a scream?" Aria asked.

Adagio's eyes widen. "SONATA!"

"Dagi, h-help me," Sonata said. Her voice was faint in the darkness.

"No, no, NO!" Adagio screamed and forced herself deep in the night.

"Adagio! What the freak are you doing!?" Aria ran after her.

They both ran, and ran until they find Sonata, lying helplessly on the ground. Her front left hoof was twisted, and there were scrapes here and there. Adagio lifted her onto her back and rushed back to camp.

"Who hurt you!?" Aria yelled. Adagio began wrapping bandages on Sonata's hoof.

Sonata slightly opened her eyes. Some drops of blood fell on her eyelids. "A, m-manticore. I t-tried to reason with it. But he was, a meanie."

Aria glared at her and screamed, "YOU STUPID SONATA! YOU COUD'VE GOTTEN KILLED!!"

Sonata weakly smiled. "I bet you are going to say that I'm the worst huh?"

"NOT NOW!" Aria screamed. Tears fell furiously from her eyes.

Sonata frowned and looked at Adagio. "From now on, we should stick together. To make sure this never happens again." Adagio helped Sonata in her sleeping bag.

Aria looked away. "I need some time alone."

Adagio hesitated. "Be careful. We don't want the same thing to happen to you."

Adagio closed her eyes. Her last words before she sleep was, "I should've came here alone."

As the tent closed up, Aria buried her head in her hooves. "I can't do this. I can't do this."

She repeated that line for a while until she cried herself to sleep.

"Cock a doodle do!" The rooster called to another beautiful sunrise. Adagio began to pack up the tent to move on. Aria silently began to make wooden crutches for Sonata, who was practicing her magic, shooting beams at carved targets she carved on the tree trunks. "Must, get stronger, to, defend, myself. Must never, let that ever again."

Aria begged her to stop. But she kept going, until she passed out. "Please..." Aria whispered. Why did Sonata change? Usually she's her quirky self. But now. Everything has gotten into her.

During the afternoon, Aria was watching Sonata, as she was using her band new crutches, and Adagio was walking silently. Only birds were out, chirping peacefully.

The creatures that were lurking went back to their habitats. So Sonata was half relieved.

"I'm sorry for making you guys worry. I just don't want you guys to get involved." Sonata sighed.

Adagio turned around. Her gloomy face shocked Aria. "Please. Don't talk."

They kept walking and walking. Day and night, Adagio remained silent, Aria felt grumpy and yet upset, and Sonata whimpered from time to time.

Aria began to think more and more about the journey ahead. She sometimes fell behind in her own thoughts, but she couldn't help it.

Every night on their journey, Aria began to change more and more. She keeps hearing noises, and voices saying, "You're not worthy..."

On their last night, Adagio stopped to look at Aria. "Are you okay? We haven't heard from you in a while."

Aria turned around. She felt shaky and walked towards Adagio creepily. She whispered as she walked. "You're not worthy my little Dagi..."
