Blood of...

Ponies don't only receive their personality and power through cutie marks. They receive them through their blood. And their blood can only give them more power after realization.

A pony's personality and power doesn't come from their special talent. That's only part of the reason. A pony's personality, power, traits, and even genetics comes from the blood that flows through them.

When a pony discovers their blood type, they can learn to wield it to their advantages. Sometimes, the blood will draw others, and they will unite.

Several ponies discover their powerful blood and unite.

A light orange girl with curled red and yellow hair and vivid aqua eyes and wearing a light aqua tank with a translucent bottom, simple jeans, black and brown boots, and a simple, leather jacket walked down to her apartment. Her name was Sunset Shimmer.

She pulled out a key ring from her pocket and flipped through them until she found the one she was looking for. Smiling with satisfaction, she put the key in the apartment door's lock and turned the it. With a push on the door, she pulled the key out of the lock and walked into the white room with hard-wood floors. There was a television and cream love seat/small sofa. A shaggy, pale orange carpet was beneath a wooden coffee table, which was in front of the sofa. There was a kitchenette with a mini fridge and countertop with a few appliances. One more doors was seen on the wall, indicating a bedroom.

Still smiling, Sunset Shimmer walked towards the bedroom door and opened it. Inside was a twin bed covered with an orange blanket and yellow sheets. Off the side was a door that led to an on suite.

She slugged the backpack she was carrying onto the bed and flopped herself onto it. She closed her eyes and let out a sigh.

Sunset had just been on the roof when something extrodinary happened. She smiled in bliss as she recalled the events. The appearance of the wrong reflection.

She giggled when she remembered she threw her jacket into the wind, only to fall onto the roof of the apartment building.

She opened her eyes as she recalled the sun shining on her, the magic surrounding her.

The wings of fire and light.

She sat up and frowned.

Fire and light. Fire and light. Fire and light...

Why did that seem familiar?

That's when it clicked. Philomena. Princess Celestia's pet phoenix.

She smiled but the frowned again. Why would phoenix wings appear in the human world?

She looked at her backpack in thought. Maybe...

She unzipped the backpack and rummaged her hand through it, searching for it. Sunset Shimmer yanked out a brown book with her cutie mark. She flipped to a new page, grabbed a pen, and began writing.

She stopped before her pen struck the page.

She realized the solution. After all, the Princess had discussed it with her before. It was what made each pony different. What gave them their color, their power.

Their cutie marks.

She quickly recalled the discussion.

"So we all have some sort of monster's blood?"

The little filly Sunset Shimmer gazed with curiosity at Princess Celestia. They were having a lesson.

"Well," Celestia said, tapping her chin, "not necessarily a monster. Just a magical creature or object." The white alicorns trotted over to a balcony and pointed at the sky. "Example, I have the blood of the Sun itself. It's what allows me control of it."

Sunset Shimmer's eyes widened. "Blood?"

Celestia nodded. "Everypony has some magic blood." She fixed her gaze on Sunset. "You have magic blood. Very powerful magic blood, really."

Sunset stared at the ceiling.

Magic blood. Phoenix wings. Powerful magic.

It all clicked.

"I have the Blood of a Phoenix," she whispered.

A lavender alicorn with a navy mane with a highlight of pink and purple was reading a book on magic blood and its abilities on her cyrstal bed. This alicorn is Princess Twilight Sparkle.

"'... A pony's magic blood can help determine their cutie mark, personality, physical appearance, and even thoughts. Every single pony has magic blood. Magic blood is why a pony has a cutie mark. Before Celestia's and Luna's reign, ponies did not have cutie marks, but they later obtained them after mating with a other creatures such as dragons, ursa majors, phoenixes, and even shadows,'" Twilight read aloud to herself.

"'A few traits ponies may have to have shadow blood is excellence in dark magic, dark coats and manes and tails, and being nocturnal.'"

"'A few traits ponies may have to have phoenix blood is excellence in fire and wind or the sun. The only pony known currently to have phoenix blood is Princess Celestia.'"

"'A few traits ponies may have to have ursa major blood is excellence in stars and awesome control of the night sky. The only pony known currently to have ursa major blood is Princess Luna.'"

"'A few traits ponies may have to have dragon blood is excellence in all magic, though fire is increased, awesome resistance to magic, and the ability to turn to fire at will.'"

Twilight furrowed her eyes. "But that's a phoenix's ability. Why would a pony with dragon blood be able to do that?"

She turned the page of the book to it blank.

"Huh?" She flipped the next page. Blank.

Next. Blank.

Next. Blank.

Next. Blank.

Blank. Blank. Blank. Blank!

She quickly flipped to the first blank page a smelled it.

Her eyes narrowed, and Twilight smirked. "Lemon." She nodded to herself and caster a heating spell on the page.

Slowly, pieces of the page burned away. When the burn marks faded, Twilight gasped at the image.

"Beautiful..."

It was a sketch of a unicorn pony with pure black eyes and shadows for a mane and tail. He had a cured horn that was tipped midnight black. His coat was shaded in darkly, but not as dark as the eyes. At the bottom of the page was labeled "Shadow-Blooded."

Twilight looked at the next blank page and cast the heat spell this time.

Marks burned away revealing a sketch of a pegasus pony with wings of fire and light. Her eyes were pure light. Her coat was white. At the bottom was labeled "Phoenix-Blooded."

Flip. Heat spell.

The next sketch showed an earth pony whose eyes looked made of nebulas. Her mane was full of stars. Stars formed at the base of her hooves. Her coat was shaded in a bit. At the bottom was labeled "Ursa Major-Blooded."

Twilight turned to face the next page and caster the heat spell.

The burnt marks faded away to reveal a unicorn with draconic, red eyes. His mane and tail were made of pure fire. His coat was pure white. At the bottom was labeled "Dragon-Blooded."

Twilight quickly threw the book off her bed with her hoof.

B-but it can't be... Can it? Me having... having... Could I really have...

"... dragon blood?"

Twilight recalled when she was introduced to Pinkie's Pinkie Sense.

The flames that made up her mane and tail. The red in her eyes. The pure white coat.

She then whispered, "I have the blood of a dragon..."

A gray earth pony with a black mane trudged through a howling blizzard. All he could see was whirling white.

He continued on. He was searching for a safe haven.

Suddenly, the blizzard froze.

The stallion scanned the area around, but he didn't find anything strange or out of place. The snow had simply stopped in mid fall.

Then, he noticed an item sticking out of the ground.

It was gray, but it turned red at the sharp point of it. It was curved, and the point was clearly lethal if it pierced skin.

It was the stallion's horn.

He galloped over to it, and he swiped it up. He carefully scanned it for damage, but there wasn't a dent or knack on it. Slowly and trembling, he put the horn on his forehead, waiting for it to reattach to his skull and become part of him once more.

But the moment never came.

"No," he whispered.

"No! He have to become one with me! I need you! You must obey me! I am the Blood of a Shadow! I have to be a unicorn!"

Then, tears sprang to his eyes.

"Please... I don't want to be different from the other Shadow Bloods. I... I want to be a unicorn like a normal Shadow Blood..."

He put his head between his hooves and wept. He felt to horn crumble before him and flake away. He didn't even move when the storm started up again.

"I... I am the Blood of a Shadow... The last Blood of a Shadow... And..."

He stared at the ground.

"And... And I will leave a shadow on the world... Showing that even earth ponies hold magic of shadows..."

He lifted his head up to the sky. Tears leaked from his eyes as he screamed.

"I am the last Blood of Shadows, Sombra, and it doesn't matter who I am!"

Pinkie Pie bounced towards Twilight Sparkle's castle with some cupcakes. Twilight had said something about wanting to talk to Pinkie about Pinkie Sense again. Pinkie wasn't exactly sure if that was a good idea, but if Twilight asked for her, she should come as a good friend.

When Pinkie arrived at the castle, she immediately bounced to the library where she found Twilight chatting with Discord.

"Hi'ya, Twilight! Hi'ya, Discord," Pinkie said with a pearly white beam. Discord looked over and began laughing his head off... literally...

"Twilight! Twilight," Discord's head said while his body was clutching his stomach and pointing at Pinkie. "Twilight, look at Pinkie!! Hahaha!!!"

Pinkie had cupcakes in a single file bouncing behind her in sync with her own bouncing. She looked at her cupcakes.

"How come everypony thinks this is strange? It happened, like, all the time! Neither of you've seen it yet," she asked. "My pastries always bounce with me!"

Discord began laughing harder. "Twilight, forget your original question!! Figure out what Blood she is!"

"Blood? I'm not blood," Pinkie said with a confused expression.

Twilight shook her head. "Everypony has Magic Blood. Example, I have Dragon Blood."

"Oohhh," Pinkie said, understanding. "I have the Blood of a Draconequus! Bye, Twilight!"

Pinkie Pie bounced away from a temporary brain-dead Twilight Sparkle and speechless Discord.

And her cupcakes were bouncing behind her in a single file.
