Scootaloo hears Rainbow Dash complaining about her tiny wings and runs off into a storm. Rainbow Dash tries to save her as she gets carried away from the strong wind...

Rainbow Dash talks with Twilight about Scootaloo. Scootaloo asked her to train her flying skills earlier and Rainbow Dash was complaining because she couldn't fly.
Scootaloo was looking for Rainbow Dash and heard the two talking. She ran outside where a strong storm was about to hit Ponyville. She runs off and gets caught in a strong wind. Fluttershy tells Rainbow Dash that she saw Scootaloo running off and Rainbow Dash came back to her sense and tries to find the filly.
Just before Rainbow Dash could save her, the strong wind caught the young pony and dragged her off into the distance, Rainbow Dash right behind her, ready to take on everything to save her...

Save me, Rainbow Dash!

"She is just Filly", Twilight tried to calm Rainbow Dash down: "She will be able to fly one day, she just needs somepony to train with!".

"Urgh, someday can be in years, Twilight!", Rainbow Dash said with a bugged voice.

Twilight shook her head, looking down at Rainbow Dash scrolling the pages of a Daring Doo book and landed next to her, handing her a book about flying skills.

"I don't need that!", Rainbow Dash looked at the cover and pushed it back to her: "I know everything about flying I need to know!". Twilight sighed and took the book back to its place.

"I think, you should at least give it a try.", Twilight sat next to her, trying to convice her to train the young pony. Rainbow Dash stayed cold, ignored her and stared at the Daring Doo cover. It was one of her favorite books, but she didn't feel like reading it.

Scootaloo entered the big hallway and looked around. "Wow, this is really big in here! Must be so awesome to live here!", she noticed and looked around. Nopony here. Rarity told her that she was here to talk with Twilight, but where would they be? Finally Scootaloo heard their voices and followed them to the library. She opened the door a bit, but stopped as she heard Twilights soft voice talking to somepony.

"She really needs someone to help her, Rainbow Dash. She just needs training! That's the same as studying.", Twilights voice echoed in Scootaloos head.

"But studying is for eggheads! She can't even lift her hooves off the ground!", Rainbow Dash complained. Scootaloo looked down at her hooves. They were talking about her. She kept listening, but she didn't dare opening that door.

"She needs someone to encourage her, you're her idol, act like it!", Twilight reminded her a bit more strict than before.

"Pff", Rainbow Dash made an ignorant sound and turned her head away: "But she doesn't help me in return, does she?".

Twilight stood up: "She does, she gives you trust and a sister you can take care of.".

Rainbow Dash yawned: "As if I, the best flier in all Equestria would need someone I have to take care of, someone that just keeps bugging around me!".

Scootaloo gasped and turned away, trying hard not to make a sound, but her hooves on the clean, cold floor made a terrible loud noice and she hurried outside.

It was windy and her mane flew in her face, she looked around, thinking of where to go. The clubhouse! she thought and ran off towards the apple fields, ignoring the strengthened wind in her mane. She kept fighting against it until she reached the tiny clubhouse.

Fluttershy saw Scootaloo running away towards Sweet Apple Acres, but she couldn't stop her. "Oh my...", she whispered and looked into the sky: "If she doesn't get back here in time she could hurt herself, I better go get Rainbow Dash, she wanted to train with her today, but I guess they lost each other.". She rushed to the castle and searched for the two, finding them in the library, but they were having a fight about something. "Uh... guys...?", Fluttershy interruptet them shyly.

Twilight sighed and turned towads Fluttershy: "What is it?". She looked tired at Fluttershy, seeing her scared face.

"Uhm...", Fluttershy started: "I just saw Scootaloo running towards Sweet Apple Acres... It is dangerous to be out there on her own with this weather and its still getting stronger...".

Rainbow Dash reacted before anyone else could say something: "Such a silly little filly, I'm gonna go and get her, she will have to suffer through a lot of training if she doesn't have a good reason for this!". She ran outside, it was too windy to fly, so she hurried to Sweet Apple Acres.

"Where are yo goin'?", Applejack catched up to her: "It's not save at the farm now!".

Rainbow Dash shook her head: "I know! That's why I have to go get Scoots!" before Applejack could offer help she was gone and on her way to the Apple farm.

As soon as she arrived, she saw nothing left of the treehouse. "Dear Celestia!", she looked around, searching for Scootaloo, fighting against the wind: "Scoots?! Where are you?!"

"I'm here, Rainbow Dash!", a shaking voice came from above her head and Rainbow Dash looked up to the treetops.

Scootaloo was holding on to a branch that was just about to break in the wind. Her tiny wings fluttert fast as she tried to keep in place, but it didn't help much: "Save me, Rainbow Dash!", she cried with tears in her eyes.

"I'm right there!", Rainbow Dash answered and tried to get to her, which was very hard with the strong wind pressing her into another direction like hooves that tried to push her away.

She reached out with her hooves, trying to hold on to the filly, but one heartbeat before she could wrap her hooves around the orange body, the branch broke. This second seemed to last forever for Rainbow Dash.

Scootaloos eyes widened in shock, starring directly into Rainbow Dash's eyes. The tears were filling up her eyes making them glow, her tiny wings helpless fluttering like the broken wings of a butterfly. Her tiny hooves let go of the branch and in the next second she heard her voice screaming: "Rainbow Daaaaashhhh" as she driftet off with the wind.

Rainbow Dash startet fluttering her wings as strong as she could, fighting to get to her: "I'LL SAVE YOU!", she screamed while getting closer and closer. She was heavier than Scootaloo and it was trying to pull her down to the ground. Closer and closer she came towards her and finally she could shee into her eyes again. But all she saw was fear and for a split second, that felt like hours, the soft purple eyes were not in the same color, they were pink, her mane rainbow colored and her orange fur blue.

"Mommy!", the tiny Rainbow Dash screamed as the wind kept catching her in waves. She could feel again how her tiny wings tried to fight against the strong wind, she tried hard to get to her mother which wasn't more than a silhouette with the sharp wind in her eyes. She could feel the leaves suddenly wrapping around her body, her mother screaming for her. She felt again the pain when she was falling down from one branch to another and then to the ground.

Rainbow Dash opened her eyes, she was laying in a bed. Was this all a dream? She looked around, her eyes slowly getting used to the white light in the room. When she could see again she noticed that she was in a hospital. She looked to her tiny wings, they were wrapped in bandages. She saw two shilouettes behind a white paper wall. One was definitely her mother, the other seemed to be a doctor. Rainbow Dash's voice didn't make any sound, so she just listened to what they said.

"She might never be able to fly again.", the doctor explained.

"What? But it is her passion! She wants to be a wonderbolt one day...", her mother sobbed.

The doctor shook his head: "I am sorry, miss Dash. This would need a lot of training when her wings are healed again...".

"I don't know if she has the term to do so... She seems to loose her goal pretty fast sometimes...", she slowly said with a sad voice.

"I can make it!", Rainbow Dash's childish voice echoed in her head: "I am strong enough! I will become a wonderbolt! No matter what, I will fight for my dreams! Flying is my one and only destiny!".

As Rainbow Dash awoke she felt a strong ache in her back and her head. She opened her eyes. She lay between some rootage of a tree that fell down from the wind the day before. The sun was about to rise soon. Rainbow Dash must have passed out. Her heart made a big jump and she got back on her hooves: "Scootaloo?!", she called, looking around hysterical and filled with worries. What if something happened to her? She could have saved her! She was so close!

"I am here, Rainbow Dash...", a quiet voice answered. Rainbow Dash sighed in relieve as she saw the orange filly with just a few scratches and hugged her tightly.

"What were you thinking?", Rainbow Dash asked with a worried voice: "You could have gotten hurt badly!".

Scootaloo looked at the gound as Rainbow Dash let go of her. "I heard you and Twilight talking... I heard that you didn't want to train with me because I can't fly yet...", she said with a voice tired of crying.

Rainbow Dash stood stare for a few moments before she sighed: "I am sorry, Scoots... I was thinking selfish... But do you know what?".

Scootaloo looked up to her: "What?".

Rainbow Dash closed her eyes as she confessed: "When I was younger I also had such tiny wings like yours... I nearly couldn't fly and ran off to train myself because my mother was tired of it... I wasn't aware of that there was supposed to be a storm... I broke my wings that day, I don't know what could have happened if my mother wasn't there. The doctor said, I would never be able to fly again..".

Scootaloo was looking at her, not believing the words that she just heard. "I...", she started, but didn't know what to say to cheer her up.

"I kept training...", Rainbow Dash continued: "I didn't give up and became the best flier in Equestria. I was afraid of that you might not be able to make it like I did... I was afraid of failing... I was afraid of looking at you, grown up and still not able to fly... I was afraid that we couldn't fly together like I always wanted to do when I had a little sister...".

Tears filled up Scootaloos eyes as she said: "No matter what, I will try my best! I promise you, Rainbow Dash! But even if I'm not meant to fly, I want to spent this time with you, because you are my big sister and you will always be.".

Rainbow Dash hugged her tightly once again: "I will do my best too with training you, Pinkie Promise!". The two stayed like this for a while then Rainbow Dash stood up: "Now come on, Scoots, we need to go back, I have to clean up some clouds!".

Scootaloo was back on her hooves again, hopping around Rainbow Dash: "Will we start training when you are done?".

"You can bet that!", Rainbow Dash answered with a grin on her face walking beside the young pony towards the rising sun and a rising time of a new sisterhood...

Maybe flying wasn't her one and only destiny...
