Spirit Slayer
Twilight looked around as she walked down the old roads of Ponyville. On occasion she missed the large cityscape of Canterlot. Though Ponyville was indeed nice, with its own charm, she could not escape that feeling of homesickness, the hustle and bustle of the city, the millions of ponies of all shapes and sizes, the buildings stretching into the clouds. She missed it. And yet, she had never been out of the city before her trip here. Canterlot and Ponyville were the only homes she knew. “Perhaps all I need is a change of scenery.” She mumbled to herself. “Ponyville is beginning to feel a little small.”
The purple unicorn was shaken from her thoughts by a large boom. As the sky changed colors and flashed with changing colors, a ball of fire fell from the sky. It collided with something in the distance with a thundering crash. Twilight galloped down the road at full speed towards the smoke in the distance. When she got to where the ball of fire landed she realized that it landed inside her library.
“My Library!!!” Twilight yelled.
“Oh, sorry about your library.” A strange voice spoke.
“Uh,” Twilight turned to see a gray pegasus in golden armor walking up to her.
“Sorry about your library.” She said again.
“You did this!!” Twilight screamed.
“Whoa, I said I was sorry. My name is,” She fell down on the ground. “Sharp Wits.” She whispered. Then she was out cold.
“How long has she been asleep?” A brown stallion asked.
“About three hours.” Twilight responded.
“Who is she?” The brown stallion asked.
“I think she said her name was Sharp Wits, Doctor.”
“Sharp Wits, never heard that name before.” The Doctor said. “You sure she came from that fire ball.” The Doctor asked.
“Yes I’m sure Doctor.” Twilight had met the Doctor a few years back, when he destroyed half the library.
“Well what do we do with her?” The doctor asked.
“I think we should at least take her armor off.” Twilight said. When she tried to take a piece of the armor off Sharp Wit jumped up grabbed her sword and stuck the blade at an artery in Twilights neck.
“Whoa hold on, it’s just me Twilight, the person who owns the library that you destroyed.”
“Oh sorry, Twilight. Reflexes kicked in.” She said as she removed the sword from Twilights neck.
“It’s okay; you were just trying to defend yourself.” Twilight responded still shaken from being tackled.
“Hey Wits, is it okay if we call you Wits?” The Doctor asked.
“Oh sure, Doctor.” Wits replied.
“Okay now, why are you here?” Twilight asked.
“Uh…getting dizzy…” Sharp Wits said as she started swaying side to side.
“Um… are you okay Wits?” Twilight asked a little concerned for her armored guest. But before Wits could answer she fell on the floor out cold.
“Um should we move he back to the couch?” The Doctor asked. Before anyone could answer the question a blood curling scream split the air. As everyone in the library covered their ears they saw Sharp Wits jump up, grab her sword, and run outside to find the source of the scream. When Sharp Wits got outside she saw two ponies, a pink alicorn huddled in a corner and a white unicorn lying unconscious on a destroyed apple cart, and a big minotaur towering above the pink alicorn.
“That's my brother and his wife!” Twilight yelled.
“And Iron Will, why would he attack Princess Cadance and Shining Armor?” The Doctor asked. They were about to rush in when Wits stopped them.
“That’s not Iron Will, that’s why I’m here.” Wits said calmly.
“What! What do you mean that’s not Iron Will?!” Twilight exclaimed.
“That’s a spirit possessing Iron Will. And it’s my job to kill all spirits. So watch and learn.” And with that Wits jumped into action and in minutes took the spirit out of Iron Will and killed it. Twilight and the Doctor stood stupefied for a moment. When she was finished she went over to the alicorn and said something and then went over to the unicorn and did something then she threw him over her back and came back to the library.
“How did you do that?” Twilight asked.
“I’ll explain later, but first we have to give your brother some medical attention. His condition is stable but he has some broken bones from where he was sent flying and landed on that apple cart. Cadance is fine, but she’s badly shaken up and is afraid to move.”
“I’ll go talk to Cadance and see what I can do.” The Doctor said.
“Okay, Twilight will you help me with Shining Armor?”
“Of course I’ll help, just tell me what to do.”
“Okay first of all we need a place to put him down at.” Wits said looking around.
“We can put him in my bed.” Twilight said as she showed Wits to her room.
“Alright now we need to get a steady flow of liquids flowing so he can stay hydrated.”
“Okay I’ll be right back.” Twilight ran down the stairs and was back a few moments later. “I don’t have anything.”
“Then we’ll need to make something.” After a few moments they had made a makeshift IV-pole and container to keep Shining Armor hydrated.
“Okay now do you know a powerful healing spell?”
“I know a strong one, but it probably won’t be strong enough to completely heal him.” Twilight said with a little shame.
“It’s okay Twilight you do what you can and I’ll take care of the rest.” Wits said trying to cheer Twilight up.
“Okay I’m ready.” Twilight said as she got in position to perform the spell.
“It’s alright Princess Cadance. Now come on lets go see how Shining Armor’s doing, okay.” The Doctor was trying to get Princess Cadance to go inside, but she was so badly shaken from the attack that she wasn't going to move without Shining Armor beside her.
“I-I-I I can’t.” Cadance stammered.
“Oh it’ll be alright, it’s a small walk and I’ll be right beside you the whole time.”
“No I can’t walk.” It appeared that Cadance was recovering slowly. She wasn't stammering as much.
“Well I can’t get her to move. She refuses to move without Shining Armor at her side.” The Doctor said as he entered the room.
“Wait, you left her outside all alone?!” Wits exclaimed as she ran outside and went right to her side. “Cadance, everything will be alright. Now why don’t you come inside, I’ll make you a glass of my delicious nutmeg tea. Alright?” Wits said in a soothing tone.
“O-o-okay.” Cadance stammered as she slowly got up
“And we’ll check up on Shining Armor.”
"I-I-is he alright?” Cadance stammered.
“Let’s get you inside and calmed down first.” Wits was actually getting Cadance to move without Shining Armor by her side. When Cadance was inside and calmed down Twilight came down the stairs.
“Okay Wits, I've done all I can.” Twilight said looking at Cadance.
“Alright, will you stay with Princess Cadance while I go and see what I can do to help speed up the healing process?” Wits asked before going up the stairs, but before Twilight could answer Wits had already gone up the stairs. So Twilight sat beside Cadance and started talking about how well Shining Armor was recovering.
“Will he be alright Twilight?” Cadance asked as she sipped on the glass of nutmeg tea Wits made her.
“He should be in a few days. All he needs now is a little rest to finish the job.” Wits said coming down the steps. As she did Cadance jumped up and gave Wits a big hug.
“Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!” Cadance exclaimed hug Wits as Pinkie Pie usually does when she’s excited.
“Your welcome Cadance.” Wits said wiggling out of her grip. “Now do you want to see how Shining Armor is coming along.”
“Alright Sharp Wits.” Cadance said.
“Please call me Wits.” Wits said humbly.
“Uh, oh okay.” Cadance said as the three walked up the stairs to Twilights room.
“How’s Shining Armor doing, Doctor?” Cadance asked when they got to the room.
“He’s doing just fine. All he needs now is some rest and he should be up and walking in about two days.” The Doctor said.
“Two days, but we’re supposed to meet Celestia and Luna in three hours!” Cadance exclaimed.
“C-C-Cadance, is that you?” Shining Armor stammered.
“Yes Shining Armor, I’m here.” Cadance was speaking with a hint of concern in her voice.
“Ask my sister to send a letter to send a letter to Princess Celestia, telling her that we were attacked by someone and I’m hurt badly and that we won’t be able to make it, okay.” Shining Armor mumbled in a tone only Cadance could understand.
“Alight, I’ll ask Twilight to get started on that right now.” As Cadance spoke Twilight was already writing the letter.
“Okay all written, now how are we going to get it to Celestia without Spike?” Twilight said as she finished writing the letter.
“Where is Spike?” Cadance asked a little worried about spike.
“He’s on that dragon migration.” Twilight said as she thought about how she could get the letter to the Princess. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are helping with the weather up in Gallopville, and everypony else is busy.
“Can’t we send the letter with Owlowiscious?” Cadance asked interrupting her thoughts.
“That’s it, Owlowiscious is always willing to help with anything. Oh Owlowiscious, can you take this letter to the Princess up in Canterlot, please?” Twilight said as her pet owl flew in through the window.
"Who, who.” The little owl hooted as it took the letter from Twilight and started flying towards Canterlot. A few hours later Owlowiscious came flying through the window carrying a scroll in its talons.
“Thank you Owlowiscious. Now let’s see what the princess has to say about this.” Twilight unrolled the scroll and read aloud.
Dear Shining Armor and Cadance,
I hope that you both recover from the shock of being attacked, and it’s alright that you can’t make it. I would rather you to recover from your injuries than to make you put yourself in more danger of injury just so you can make the party. And furthermore, I’ll be more than happy to send you two a slice of the cake and some of the pictures from the party. Hope you fell better soon.

“Okay it seems Celestia is alright with you two missing the party.” Cadance said looking at the letter over Twilights shoulder.
“Really?” Shining Armor grunted as he tried to get out of the bed to see the letter.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. You are not getting out of that bed until your fully healed.” Twilight said pushing her brother back on the bed.
“Oh come on Twi, why not?” Shining Armor wined as he was put back in the bed.
“Because you have a few broken bones, your weak from being attacked, and because I said so.”
“Oh alright, I guess I have to.”
“Yes you do.” Cadance said with a giggle. And so after two days Shining Armor was up and moving
You seem to be feeling better.” Wits said as she and the other three ponies walked into the room.
“Yeah, I am feeling better.” Shining Armor said as he used his magic to put the makeshift IV-pole up in the closet.
“Okay Shining Armor, you are now officially ready to get to training.” Wits said as she went to the closet door and opened it. “Now you can have your choice of armor and weapons.”
“Okay, can you tell me why you’re giving me armor and weapons?” Shining Armor asked as he went to look at the choices.
“Because, I’m going to train all of you to defend yourselves if a spirit attacks. It was the Doctor and Twilight that gave me the idea.”
“Oh, well then in that case I think I’ll choose the shining white armor and the magic enhancer amulet, the spirit detector glasses, and the shiny white sword that goes with the white armor.” Shining Armor said as he took them down to put on. After a few weeks of training everybody was ready for a spirit attack. Twilight read up on a spirits weaknesses, strengths, how to tell if it’s lying, how to expose it and how to get rid of it without a weapon. Cadance studied up on how to trick a spirit out in the open. Shining Armor studied up on how to get rid of spirits and how to keep them away. And the Doctor studied up on how spirits are formed and way they can’t move on.
“Okay listen up, you are done with training, and now you can go on missions now. But there’s only one mission right now. The mission is to slay the master spirit. Now I know what you are all thinking, where is the master spirit? Well while you all were training I was locating him, and he’s in the Princess’s old castle in the Everfree forest. Now what we’re going to do is go to the castle take out the trash and save all of Equestria. Any objections?” Wits said in a confident tone. None of them raised their hooves. “Good. Now let’s go take care of the trash.” And with that they all ran out the library and ran to the old castle in the Everfree Forest.
“Okay were here, now there are guards, and if we don’t take them all out at once they will sound an alarm telling the master spirit that they have intruders.” Wits whispered to the others while hiding behind a rock.
“How are we going to take them all out at once?” Twilight asked.
“Simple Twilight, all you need to do is say the verse that vanquishes all weak spirits in earshot.”
“Oh yeah that’s right.” Twilight said as she cleared her throat and said the verse in the language she learned it.
Ah mak fula,
shul ak dsh,
Cohak shat hoct shalkt,
Usam lakt masu!
With the verse said all the guards were vanquished.
“Excellent work Twilight! Now we can go in and take out the master spirit. Let’s get this show on the road.” As Wits said this she jumped out from behind the rock and charged to the castle. After a few hours the five ponies got to the throne room, where the master spirit awaited them.
“Ah, three hours and fifty seconds. I’m really disappointed Sharp Wits, that’s not the time it takes for a spirit slayer to get to the master spirit. I had high hopes for you.” A light blue alicorn was sitting on the throne holding a stopwatch.
“Princess Luna, is that you?” Cadance asked as she started to move closer to the throne.
“Cadance that’s not Luna. A master spirit co change into anyone he wants, but he has to have a DNA sample.” Wits said as she put a hoof in front of her chest to hold her back.
“Ah so you’re not as stupid as you look.” The spirit said as it turned back to what it really looked like. After a few seconds of insulting one another they finally engaged in battle. And after a few hours of battling the master spirit was vanquished. Although the master spirit was gone Wits still had the feeling that he was still around, but after a few minutes of treating the wounds from the battle the feeling vanished. As they walked home Twilight limped home because she was stabbed in the leg, Princess Cadance’s wings were cut badly, Shining Armor’s flank was cut in places and bleeding in others, but Wits had the worst of it for she fought sword to sword and hoof to hoof.
“Um Wits is something wrong?” Twilight asked when they got back to the library.
“Why do you ask Twilight?”
“Because your starting to glow. Is it time for you to go?” Cadance said coming up behind Twilight.
“Yes.”
“Will you come back?” Shining Armor asked coming up behind Cadance.
“I’ll try, but you also have to remember I got work to do in other universes.”
“Okay, so in other words it might be a while till we see you again.” The Doctor said coming up from behind Shining Armor.
“Exactly, see you next time.” And with that she faded away into the sky.
