Yosh Meets Rainfeather

"Still having problems at night?" asked Dawnbreak Horizon with a frown.

Yosh was carefully pinning up one of his diapers Rarity had made for him onto a makeshift clothesline.
"Yeah," he sighed. "Water resistant on the outside but not the inside."

Dawnbreak put his hoof to his head.
"I was hoping we could get an early start today," he said. "But I don't feel the best impression for us is to march into the next town with one of your wet diapers on a stick raised as if it were the Equestrian Flag."

Yosh shrugged and looked down shamefully.
"I'm sorry, Dawnbreak," he said. "The town isn't supposed to be too far away. Why don't you just go ahead without me?"

The brown unicorn thought for a moment before putting his hat on over his magical horn.
"We need supplies and I definitely want to get some words in with the townsfolk. Perhaps we'll even get some direction on where to find this country's leader?"

Yosh watched the clothesline sag as the sticks supporting it bent from the weight of the soaking wet diaper he had washed in the nearby pond.
"I'll clean things up while you're gone," he said.

"Okay!" proclaimed Dawnbreak as he strapped on his saddlebag. "I'll be back by dusk."

Yosh turned to wave to the unicorn to whom he was destined to be with since hatching and waved as he fought back his tears.
"See you, soon," he said. "I'll have, everything, looking great and, be ready to take, any notes when you get back."

"Great!" exclaimed Dawnbreak. "And that is why you're my number one assistant, Yosh."

Yosh tidied up the campsite as he sniffled from how frustrated he was with his 'condition'. His friend, Spike, had been out of diapers for years while he still needed them. What made it worse was how there were times when his body would allow him to relieve himself properly while others times it 'just happened'. It was for those random moments that Yosh had to stay in diapers. After all the last thing he and Dawnbreak Horizon needed while meeting and befriending leaders of villages, towns, and countries outside of Equestria was Yosh making a literal mess of things.

QUACK-QUACK

QUACK-QUACK-QUACK

Yosh turned towards the pond he had washed both himself and his diaper in to see it was filling up with ducks.
"Oh," he said as he waddled towards the water's edge. "Hi, everyone."

The ducks seemed to look towards him like he had something they wanted. Though they soon turned their attention away from Yosh and swam towards the other side of the pond.

Yosh put his hands on his cheeks and sighed. He didn't do well with rejection. His self-esteem was not quite at what he believed Spike's to be but he always wished he could be like his 'brother'. Particularly the not needing diapers part while not being excluded from adventures just because of something he neither understood nor control.

"Hey, there!" called a cheery voice.

"Kazootles!" quacked Yosh with surprise as he stumbled into the water.

As Yosh pulled himself out of the water he spotted a pink pony with a blue mane and tail approaching him. She was slightly taller than he was and had a saddlebag to her side and was wearing what looked to be a blue diaper.

"Oh," she said with a giggle. "Did I startle you?"

"Yes," admitted Yosh as he pulled his soaking wet shirt off and began to ring it out. His diaper on the other hand was totally dry all thanks to Rarity's special fabric that was made of loose duck feathers with a touch of magic.

"Wow!" awed the pink pony. "You have a magical diaper, too?"

"Magical diaper?" wondered Yosh.

"Yeah!" she cheered as she turned to show Yosh the blue diaper she was wearing.

"What's so magical about diapers?" asked Yosh as he recalled how his bed wetting was what got him ditched on the trip to town with his unicorn companion.

"What's magical?" the Earth Pony stated more than asked. "I'll show you!"

Yosh took notice of the pony's Cutie Mark, a blue duck holding a yellow umbrella, as she opened her saddlebag and pulled out a blue feather.

QUACK-QUACK-QUACK!
The ducks in the pond appeared to gather close while paddling their way towards the shore where Yosh and the pink pony were at.

The pony put the blue feather in her mouth and smiled.
"Here goes!" she cheered while dancing about as she waved the feather about.

FWOO
WOO
DRIP
DRIP-DRIP
PSSHHH
Yosh couldn't believe his eyes as a cloud magically appeared near the shoreline of the pond. Within seconds this very cloud began to precipitate a warm and gentle rain down upon the flock of ducks who had gathered underneath it.

"Hehe," the pink pony giggled while putting the feather away. "Let's play!"

Yosh spent the next hour with the pink pony underneath the magical rain cloud she created. It was a wonderful time as the ducks from the pond seemed genuinely interested in playing with the two of them. They got to do puddle jumping, duck dancing, and paddle about in the pond together before the cloud gradually vanished.

"That was fun!" cheered Yosh who still was totally dry thanks to Rarity's special diapers she made him.

"I do this all the time!" cheered the pink pony. "And now look at my diaper!"

Yosh felt a bit awkward looking at her diaper but was astounded to see it now covered in red and pink hearts.

"Wow!" awed Yosh. "I know making things wet makes them fade or smear but I never knew it could make things appear!"

The purple pony chuckled before shaking the water from her coat.
"Our country is known for its magical clothes," she said. "We have dresses that change color depending on whether it is day or night. We have coats that get thicker when it is warmer and thinner when it is cooler. And, of course, we have diapers that look all pretty when they're wet."

Yosh thought on how nice it would be to not look so dreadful after he had an accident.

"It looks like you have a camp here," the pony said. "Does this mean you will be staying for a while? I'd absolutely love to get to know you more since you look like a big duck and I love ducks!"

"That's up to my friend," said Yosh.

"You have a friend?" she asked. "Does your friend look like a duck, too?"

"No," said Yosh. "He's a unicorn."

"A unicorn!" squealed the pink pony. "I've always wanted to meet a unicorn!"

"There aren't any unicorns living here?" asked Yosh.

"Oh, no," she said. "Though we do have magical birds. I actually got my name and this magical feather from a magical bird when I was born."

"What is your name?" asked Yosh.

"Oops!" she blushed. "I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Rainfeather. Or, well, Baby Rainfeather. You see you are a baby until you are all grown up. Then I'll be Rainfeather."

"Hmm," thought Yosh as he pondered how being known as 'Baby Yosh' until he grew up would be. It didn't exactly seem like a good thing but he knew not to judge the cultures and beliefs of others. After all he was a dragon with a duck's beak who still wore diapers at ten years of age.

"What's your name?" Baby Rainfeather asked.

"I'm Yosh," the dragon duck answered.

"Nice to meet you, Yosh," she greeted while extending her hoof for Yosh to shake. "Welcome to our land."

This got Yosh's mind to flood with ideas.
"Hey!" he exclaimed. "Could you tell me more about your land? Perhaps where my friend and I could meet others like you and learn more about your magical clothes?"

"Sure!" stated Rainfeather. "My parents will be by to get me before dinner and I know we have lots of time to talk about where you come from and about my home until then!"

"And you could meet my friend, Dawnbreak Horizon the unicorn!" cheered Yosh.

"Oh, yes!" squealed Rainfeather as the hearts on her diaper grew brighter. "That would be so wonderful!"

The two played and talked up until Dawnbreak Horizon returned from town. This was almost the same time Baby Rainfeather's parents showed up at the pond. Needless to say a wonderful conversation ensued as they enjoyed a campfire dinner and discussed all the ways in which Yosh and Dawnbreak could best experience the wonderful country of magical fabrics.
