New to this sort of thing
It's been a few months since Tirek was thrown back into Tartarus, and everything was going a pretty well. After all, Twilight's got a shiny new Castle now, and no pony no how can deny that it is absolutely awesome. This place is a great place for Twilight and her friends to hang out and have fun with each other. Of course, there's one friend that is usually conveniently missing, everyone's favorite Draconiquis Discord. Well, the main reason is he was trying to figure stuff out. For once in his entire life, both pre and post being turned into stone, he had friends. Not only that, these friends gave Discord his powers back at a time when he really didn't deserve it. He betrayed all of then on some foolish notion that he'd be more happy as a free chaos god than an enslaved pony love, as that blowhard Tirek put it. After all of the ponies he turned on just to make himself have a good laugh. They still treated him with respect, almost like an equal. It made no sense, even to the master of making no sense. However, because of who he is, he didn't reflect on it for long. After all, he's Discord master of chaos and fun, and making no sense, not some sad sack that reflects on things. It didn't take him long to figure out that maybe he's feeling bad because this whole friendship thing is still pretty new to him. The only pony that really tried with him was Fluttershy, so maybe the problem was he's to new to this sort of thing. So he decided that, well it can't hurt to try this whole friendship thing with all of his other friends.
First was Rainbow Dash, the fastest flyer in all of Equestria was attempting some sort of self made obstacle course to test her speed. She backed up and prepared to dash, the obstacle course when suddenly, the alarm instead. "Rainbow Dash, stop right there"
Dash fell faceforward and then looked up and said "Oh no, that sounds just like" In a poof Discord himself appeared before her. Rainbow sighed and said "What do you want?"
Discord smiled and said "Oh nothing much Dash, I just think your obstacle course is to easy" Rainbow gave him the biggest weird look she could muster, but Discord smirked. "How about we have some fun and make it more challenging, or do you think you can't handle it?"
Rainbow paused at that, her pride out weighing her better judgement as she said "Oh you're on, Dip-Cord!" Discord smirked at that and poofed up a small chair and took a seat. Rainbow dashed off, heading to the first obstacle, the standard ring , suddenly in a flash of light several rights appeared before her confusing the pegasus, but eventually she chose the top ring heading on to the course. Discord snapped his fingers as a shark appeared out of a tank of water that floated, biting at Rainbow forcing her into dodge. Discord was having the time of his life, as one of his signature cotton candy clouds appeared and started to pour his other signature chocolate rain. He smirked and got a glass of chocolate milk as rainbow was put into a dodge mode. Rainbow smirked seeing the finish line, when suddenly at the end of the finish line was a glass water, as Rainbow got closer, the water formed a giant serpent like creature of water that attacked Rainbow. Rainbow darted as fast as she could and bolted right through it crossing the finish line. Discord smirked at that as Rainbow said "That was umm interesting"
Discord said "Wanna go again?" Discord said "This time with more fun?"
Rainbow said "Umm," She looked up at the sun. "Oh gee look at the time, gotta go nice hanging out with you!" Discord scratched his head as Rainbow Dash dashed away.
Wandering around, Discord eventually came across Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack is a pony who often needs help doesn't' she? So Discord popped right in front of her while she was in the middle of her field. Applejack glared and said "What do you want Discord?"
DIscord smiled and said "Need some help?"
Applejack said "From you? No, the last time you "helped" my fields you nearly destroyed it"
Discord responded with "Well that bear had to go somewhere." Discord said quietly, as Applejack glared.
"He was wearing a tutu, I still think you did that on purpose to make him mad" Applejack responded not amused. Discord looked down a little. Not being stupid Applejack said "Look Discord, I think it's real swell that you're trying to be all neighborly or something like that, but that sort of thing takes time, you can't just force us all to forget."
"Oh i don't suppose not" Discord said quietly. "Maybe Rarity needs some"
Applejack said "Rarity's out of town in Manehatten doing some promotions or something. Try Twilight"
Discord say "Fine" vanished in a puff of smoke as Applejack sighed with relief, spared from his chaos, intentional or unintentional as she would like it. She than noticed that her plows were moving on their own plowing her fields, and glared quietly shouting his name in frustration.
In Twilight's castle, Twilight was busy organizing her brand new library. So many books so little time, there were even some books she didn't have in her old one. Bringing that up she looked at a piece of wood she had in a glass case quietly. She's so glad that some pony found that in the middle and gave it to her, she never could thank that pony enough. As much as she was grateful for that new castle, that library was her home for the longest time, so it's nice to know she at least would have a piece of that.
Discord poofed in and Twilight cringed. "Discord, what are you doing?"
Discord shrugged "Helping any one of my friends that I can" Discord said quietly "I'm new to this whole friendship thing still" He floated in place. "Besides, I thought maybe the Princess of the thing might give me some pointers"
Twilight smiled "Well of course! I have a book full of lessons I have learned"
Discord paled "Books?" That sounded really boring, like incredibly boring.
"Yeah, you see, Princess Celestia said since I'm the Princess of Friendship now, I should spread my lessons I've learned in a book to help future ponies and other creatures learn the lessons that I learned" She looked at Discord and said "I've already have a few pages ready, you should really consider taking a read of them they are..." Discord was gone as Twilight looked again. "Gone..."
Discord appeared back at Fluttershy's house and went inside quietly sitting on her couch. Fluttershy came in and said "Discord, how are you doing mister?" Discord shrugged. "A shrug? That's not my favorite chaos god, what's going on?"
"Oh Fluttershy, I've just so frustrated, this friendship thing is getting more annoying" He said quietly. "I tried to help Rainbow Dash on her obstacle course, but she acted like she wanted nothing to do with me, Applejack acted like I was a plague, Rarity...well to be fair she's out of town, and Twilight tried to bore me to tears by making me read a book" He sighed "I'm not asking for much, I'm just new to this whole thing, I'm asking for some fun once in a while. Some chaos, nothing to big, just some mindless old fashioned fun" He looked up. "Maybe I'm just being silly thinking I can just have that"
"Oh of course not" Fluttershy said. "Discord, it's not silly to want to hang out with your friends, it never is" Discord looked at her as she pulled up a chair. "The others know your a changed dragconiquis, they just feel nervous around you still. It's not that they think you're evil, of course not." She smiled "Tell you what, I'm don't have anything to do right now, you wanna have some fun?" Discord perked up, and smirked, the house floating up, much to Angel's chagrin.
