This is the first of at least 2 side stories from my last story. In this one, Bright and Rarity's daughter, Mint Breeze goes on an adventure with the old Cutie Mark Crusaders hoping to become like them. But their adventure turns to be more dangerous than they Imagined.
So, before I begin the story, I need to make a quick timeline, since this whole story depends mostly on the timeline. And so, I’ll need to constantly check the timeline to help me with the story. I tried to make the timeline as simple as possible, trying to make It have as much sense as possible too. If I fail at this... The whole story is f*cked up. Have a timeline:
Day 1: Bright Bulb arrives at Pony Ville. He meets Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. He sleeps with Rainbow. Day 2: He meets Fluttershy, sleeps with her too. He meets Rarity, and almost kills himself to help her. Day 3: Bright finally wakes up from his long dream and sleeps with Rarity. Day 4: Rarity gives Bright a tour around Pony Ville. He meets Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle and Spike. Spike almost kills Bright on a fight. They go to Bright’s Big Welcome Party. (Note: Everything that happens next on the timeline are included in the main story, but not as major events. So, don’t worry about those, since they won’t be having much to do with this story... Except from at least 1 or 2 of them). 3 Months later: Bright and Rarity get married. 1 Year later: Rarity gets pregnant. 9 Months Later: Rarity gives birth to a Mint-colored Pony with a Black-colored Mane. 2 Years Later: Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle get their Cutie Marks. 3 Years Later: Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle graduate from School. 1 Month Later: Bright found the same Portal that brought him to Pony Ville. Rarity argued with him to make him stay until she finally convinced him.
So, that’s all that happens in the timeline until before the beginning of this Side Story. And, if you recall, in the Epilogue of the main story it says: “7 Years passed...”. So, if you make counts, everything fits: 3 months before the wedding, 1 year before Rarity gets pregnant, 9 months before their daughter was born. So far, we have 2 years total. And in the story it says “Bright and Rarity had a little filly two years after their marriage” See? It totally fits. Then, we have Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle, on the main story says that they graduated from school, it don’t says exactly when they graduate. Let’s just say that they graduated after 7 years okay? Anyway, the story says that they got their Cutie Marks 3 years before they graduated... It fits too.
So, let’s stop messing with the timeline and let’s get to the story already. Oh, also, before I forget. You remember those things from the timeline I said I was going to add? Well, I decided to JUST add the Little Filly’s birth part, so the story can make a little bit more sense. (This part won’t be nice... Believe me) Let the story (finally) begin!
9 Months passed after Rarity got pregnant. The baby could born at any moment! Foreseeing this, Bright and Rarity’s friends decided to get her to a Hospital as soon as possible. On their way to the Hospital, Rarity asked her friends:
Rarity: “Guys? Could I ask why are we going to the Hospital? If it’s because of the baby, don’t worry. It’s not yet time for her to born” She said with a smile as she rubbed her belly. Bright Bulb: “I know that, but it’s better to have you in the Hospital already, so when the baby is ready to born, we don’t have to run like mad at the Hospital” He said without looking at Rarity. Applejack: “Ah’ll have tah agree with Bright Bulb Rarity. It’ll for your own good.” Said the orange mare to her friend, smiling at her. (Rarity sighed) “Fine... I’ll do it for the baby” Fluttershy: “So... um... Rarity... How are you two going to name the baby?” Said the cream-colored Pony with her timid voice. Rarity: “We... We still haven’t decided... Naming a Pony isn’t as easy as it seems dear....” She sighed once again. Twilight Sparkle: “Well, you better start thinking about a name. You don’t want your baby to be nameless for the rest of her life, right?” She let out a little chuckle. The she go interrupted by Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash: “So... are we still far from the Hospital? I’m getting bored... By the way, has any of you seen Pinkie Pie? I thought she was with us a few moments ago...” They all began to look around searching for their missing friend. Then, out of nowhere, a Pink Pony jumped in front of them with a big smile on her face. Pinkie Pie: “Booh!” Bright jumped in fear. “Ooh, I scared you? I’m sorry...” Said Pinkie with a smile still on her face. Bright Bulb: “My god, Pinkie... Where... Where do you come from?” He said as he tried to catch his breath after the surprise Pinkie gave him. Pinkie Pie: “Oh, well, I came from my Mother’s...” Pinkie got interrupted by Bright Bulb. Bright Bulb: “No, not that, I mean, where were you hiding?” He said as he finally caught his breathe and sighed. Pinkie Pie: “Well, I was in those bushes over there” She said as she pointed to a bunch of bushes that somehow looked like a cupcake. (Yeah, I don’t get it either...) Rainbow Dash: “Hey, Applejack, do you see what I’m seeing?” She whispered as she poked her friend's stomach. Applejack: “Yeah... The bush looks kinda weird...” She focused her attention on the weird-looking bushes. Rainbow Dash facehoofed “Not that, you Apple brain... That!” She pointed at Pinkie Pie’s flank, she apparently was bleeding. Applejack: “Oh my... She’s hurt!” Rainbow Dash sighed “No... Really? C’mon, let’s see what’s wrong with her” They trotted (Dash flied) to their friend to see why she was bleeding. Pinkie Pie: “Oh, hi guys! ...What’s wrong? What’s with those faces?” Said Pinkie with a confused face. Rainbow Dash: “Pinkie... Your... Your flank is bleeding...” Pinkie turned around to see her flank. Pinkie Pie: “Oh, this... Don’t worry guys. It’s just a splinter.” She smiled. Rarity: “I wouldn’t want to interrupt you, but... I think the baby’s coming” Everypony looked back at Rarity. Bright Bulb: “WHAT?! The baby’s coming?! Quick, we gotta go to the Hospital!” He began to trot to the Hospital, but soon realized that no one was following him. “What’s wrong? Come on! We gotta get to the Hospital!” Twilight Sparkle: “Bright, calm down. Rarity seems unable to move.” Bright Bulb: “What? Great... Just great... What are we going to do now?!” Said as he angrily walked at every direction. Rainbow Dash: “I’ll go to the Hospital to get some help” Rarity: “Dash... Thanks.” She said as she let out a pain groan. Rainbow Dash: “Don’t worry. I’ll be right back in no time!” She quickly flew towards the Hospital. She almost crashes to the door because of how fast she was going, but she managed to stop just before hitting the door. she entered the building and a Nurse got near her. ???: “Hello? What’s the matter?” Said a white Pony with a red cross as a Cutie Mark to Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash talked as she tried to catch her breath “My... My friend needs help... But she isn’t able to walk to here...” She reached a couch and decided to sit down. Still trying to catch her breath. Nurse Redheart: “Oh my... Is she okay? Would you bother to tell me where she is? If she’s unable to walk we’ll need carry her here.” She got near a microphone and called for somepony to help them carry Rainbow´s friend. “By the way, I´m Nurse RedHeart nice to meet...” Rainbow Dash had fell asleep on the couch. Stallion: “Did you call Ms. Redheart?” Said a big blue Stallion with a magnifying glass as a Cutie Mark. Nurse Redheart: “Oh, yes. I did, I need your help to carry a hurt Pony to here.” Stallion: “And were is she?” Nurse Redheart: “This Pony didn´t told me exactly were I could find her.” She pointed at Rainbow Dash “But I suppose she is somewhere on the road.” Stallion: “So... We´ll have to go search for her? Can´t we just wake up this Pony so she can tell us where her friend is?” Nurse Redheart: “Let´s just let her rest. She seemed very tired when she got here, now let´s go. There´s a Pony out there that needs help.” Stallion: “Okay, fine... Let´s go already...” They went down the road, the walked for a few where they finally found a group of Ponies. Nurse Redheart: “Oh... Hello... Is everything alright?” She said as both she and the blue Stallion approached Bright and co. Bright Bulb: “No, not at all... You see, my wife is going to have a baby and...” He got interrupted by the Nurse. Nurse Redheart: “Oh my! A baby? We need to get her to the Hospital quick! Can you help us Mister?” She said to Bright Bulb. Bright Bulb: “Well, yes... She’s my wife after all...” Rarity screamed in pain “Would you talk later!? The Baby is coming!” She screamed again. Nurse Redheart: “As in... Right now?” Rarity nodded. “Oh my... Quick, get her on my partner’s back” Bright Bulb: “But, how are we going to do that? Isn’t she too heavy to lift?” Applejack: “Big Macintosh should have come with us...” Said the blonde mare as she lowered her head. Bright Bulb: “Well, don’t just stand there and do nothing! Help me lift Rarity. I can’t do it alone you know?”
After this being said, everypony got near Rarity and tried to lift her up with their heads. After a few moments they finally got Rarity on the Blue Stallion’s back. On their way to the Hospital, Rarity and Bright began to argue.
Rarity: “This is all your fault Bright Bulb!” She screamed at the Yellow Stallion. Bright Bulb gasped “MY fault? You’re the one who wanted to have the baby!” He screamed back at Rarity. Twilight Sparkle: “Would you two stop arguing!? Geez, isn’t a couple supposed to be happy and NOT argue with each other?” Said the Lavender Pony. Now tired of hearing her friends argue. Bright Bulb: “But... It wasn’t my fault! She started this discussion!” Twilight Sparkle: “Yeah, but you decided to continue it. So, please. For the love of Celestia... STOP arguing.” “Fine” Rarity and Bright said at the same time. Nurse Redheart: “Here we are. We finally arrived at the Hospital. Now, you stay here, while we get your friend to a room.” Said as she prevented Bright and co. from continuing. Pinkie Pie turned her head and saw Rainbow Dash sleeping on a couch. And screamed “Hey! Rainbow Dash! Wake up!” With her usual squeaky voice.
Rainbow Dash opened her eyes, and saw Pinkie right in front of her face. She jumped in fear.
Rainbow Dash: “Pinkie! What are you doing! You scared me!” She said, shaking a little. Pinkie Pie: “Well... i just woke you up! You were sleeping!” Rainbow Dash: “Pinkie... You’re so random... Oh, hey guys!” She said as she looked to her friends. “Wait... Where’s Fluttershy?” Pinkie Pie: “Oh, she’s right there. Behind Twilight!” Twilight moved from where she was so everyone could see that Fluttershy was there. Fluttershy: “Oh... Hi Rainbow...” Said with her quiet cute voice. Rainbow Dash: “Hey. Where’s Rarity?” Applejack: “Oh, that’s easy. She’s with the Nurse. They got her to a room.” Rainbow Dash: “Oh... I see. And why isn’t Bright with her? I thought that when a Pony was about to have a baby, her husband was supposed to be with her.” Bright Bulb: “Well, the Nurse told us to wait here. I didn’t even have a chance to tell her that I was Rarity’s husband... Wait... Pinkie... Since when your flank is bleeding? Why didn’t you tell us?” Pinkie Pie: “Oh, this? It’s nothing. It’s just a splinter.” Said with a smile. Twilight Sparkle: “Nothing? Pinkie, this could get infected! Here, let me try a healing spell on you.” Twilight’s horn began to glow. And then, the splinter got out of Pinkie’s flank, landing on the floor. Pinkie Pie: “Ooh! I feel much better now! Thanks Twi!” She smiled and jumped around in happiness. Nurse Redheart came back and told Bright as she approached him: “Your friend is in bed now. So, I assume you must be her Husband. Right?” Bright Bulb: “Yes. Can I see her?” Nurse Redheart: “Of course. But I’m afraid your friends will have to stay here.” Applejack: “Wait a second... Why? Why can’t we all go with him?” Said Applejack in a rather annoyed tone. Nurse Redheart: “Because you can’t all go at once. You’ll be able to visit her, one by one. And if were you, I would hurry up. Because from how she looks, the baby could be born at any second...”
The same Blue Stallion that helped carry Rarity to the Hospital got near Nurse Redheart and whispered into her ear.
Nurse Redheart: “What? Already? Well... I knew it wouldn’t take very long... I’ll be there in a moment” She said as she shooed the Blue Stallion back where he came from. As she was grabbing some medical instruments Bright asked her: Bright Bulb: “What’s the matter? What’s going on?” He said in a worried tone, thinking that what happened had something to do with Rarity. Nurse Redhear: “Your friend is having the baby right now. You can come with me, but your friends will have to wait outside of her room.” Bright Bulb: “Well? What are we waiting for? C’mon everypony, let’s go” He began to walk, but he stopped when he realized he didn’t even know in which room Rarity was. “Uh... Why don’t you go ahead Ms. Nurse?... I... I don’t even know where I’m going...” Nurse Redheart: “Fine. Follow me, the room is not too far from here.” They walked until they were outside Room 105. Where Rarity was supposed to be. “Well, here we are. Now, you wait here.” She said as she entered the room. Fluttershy: “But... Why can’t we enter? This isn’t fair...” Rainbow Dash: “Well, I would rather stay here than be inside. It wouldn’t be nice to see how a baby is born... Too much blood and stuff.” She finished her sentence shaking her head. Trying to get the thought out of her mind. Twilight Sparkle: “Well, I say we better wait outside. I mean, how long could it take?...” Bright Bulb lifted an eyebrow “... Believe me, it takes way more than it should...” Twilight Sparkle: “And how do you know that? Have you seen a baby being born of something?” Bright Bulb: “Well, no... But I’ve read books about this kind of stuff you know?”
Meanwhile, inside the room, Rarity was about to have her baby. But noticing Bright wasn’t there, she asked the Nurse.
Rarity: “Where... Where is my husband? I want him to be here with me...” She speaked on a quiet voice, since she seemed very tired. Nurse Redheart: “I’m sorry dear, but I’m afraid that won’t be possible.” Said the nurse as she put on some gloves. (Yeah... There are gloves for hooves... Don’t ask.) Rarity: “Why... Not?” She said with the same quiet voice. Nurse Redheart: “Because, this is a delicate process, we need to concentrate as much as possible.” Rarity: “Oh come on! That’s such a ridiculous excuse! Let him in... I need him by my side.” Nurse Redheart sighed “Fine, I’ll go get him... Anypony else that you need by your side?” She said as she walked to the door. Rarity: “No... Just him. Thanks.” Nurse Redheart: “Yeah, yeah... You’re welcome” she opened the door and saw everypony sitting in blue couches. “So, she said that she wanted you by her side. Now enter before I decide to close the door.” She told Bright Bulb. Bright Bulb: “Me? Well, okay...” He got up from the couch and walked inside the room. Before the nurse could close the door, Rainbow spoke. Rainbow Dash: “Wait! Why can’t we go in? We’re her friends!” Her wings spread out. Nurse Redheart: “I’m sorry... She said she wanted only him by her side. Once this is done, you’re all free to enter. But, for the moment, please stay here. Thanks” She closed the door of the room. Rainbow Dash: “Oh that little...” She got stopped by Applejack. Applejack: “Calm your horses Rainbow. If Rarity wants only Bright to be with her, we should respect her opinion. Don’t ya agree?” Rainbow Dash sighed “Fine... But once the door opens again, nurse or not, I’m getting inside.” Twilight Sparkle: “With all that have happened so far, I almost forgot. Applejack, where is Apple bloom? Is she with Granny Smith?” Applejack: “Yup. I left Apple bloom with our Granny. Ah’m sure Big Macintosh is with her too.” Twilight Sparkle: “Well, that’s good to know. But I wonder... Where did Rarity left Sweetie Belle?” Rainbow Dash: “Well... I think Rarity left Sweetie on her home... I can’t think of any other places.”
Meanwhile, inside the room..
WARNING: If you don’t want to read about how exactly a baby is born. Skip this part and continue reading on Episode 2... I’m serious... The main problem of the last story was exactly this kind of scenes. Rarity: “Thanks for staying with me Bright...” Said the white Pony, still tired. Bright Bulb: “You’re my wife... Of course I would be with you In a moment like this.” He smiled at Rarity. Who smiled back. Rarity: “Bright... I’m sorry for saying this was your fault...” She lowered her head. Bright Bulb: “Don’t worry dear... It’s fine.” Rarity let out a pain groan. The time had come for the baby to finally be born.
Nurse Redheart: “Okay dear. I’ll need you to calm down. Inhale, and exhale. For the baby to be born without any problems, you need to be calm. Okay?” Rarity: “O... Okay” She let out another pain groan. Nurse Redheart: “Okay, now push! The baby won’t come out on it’s own!” Rarity did as the nurse told her. Bright felt a strong pressure on his hoof. Bright Bulb: “Ow ow ow... Rarity, stop! It hurts!” He got on his knees. Still complaining about the pain. Rarity was squeezing Bright’s hoof with all of her strength. “To be a lady you have a lot of strength... Please stop!” Nurse Redheart: “Keep pushing! The baby’s almost here! I can see the head!” Rarity kept doing as the nurse said while she screamed because of the pain, and squeezing Bright’s hoof who was laying on the floor still complaining, even harder. “Come on, a little bit more... It’s almost here...”
After a few minutes, the baby finally came out. Rarity stopped screaming a let go Bright’s hoof. The nurse wrapped up the newly born baby on a pink blanket, and haded it to Rarity and Bright after he finally got up from the floor. It was mint-colored with a black mane. The nurse went to the door, she opened it and told the Ponies that were sitting outside:
Nurse Redheart: “You can enter now. Come, so you can see the baby.” They all got uo from the couches they were sitting on and entered the room. As they got closer to Rarity and Bright they all let out a loud D’AWWWW when they saw the baby. Twilight Sparkle: “Hello you cute little baby” She said as she looked at the baby. Rainbow Dash: “Hey little fella! You look exactly like your mother!” Fluttershy: “And you have the eyes of you father” Bright smiled. Applejack: “So, how ya gonna name the baby?” Bright Bulb: “Well, I thought about it for quite a while. And I decided to name her: Mint Breeze” Rarity stared at Bright Bulb. Rarity: “Really? That’s the best name you could think of? You know... I’m starting to doubt if you’ll be a good father.” Twilight Sparkle: “Oh, come on Rarity. I like the name, it totally fits her.” Rainbow Dash: “Yeah! I like the name too. What about you guys? You like the name too, don’t you?” She asked Fluttershy, Applejack and Pinkie pie. They all agreed with Rainbow. “See? Everypony like the name. Why don’t you like it?” She asked Rarity. Rarity: “Well, it’s not that I don’t like it... It’s just that I wanted to give the baby a name... But if all of you like the name... I like it too” She smiled at the baby, who was currently sleeping. Pinkie Pie: “So, when we’ll celebrate? I already have plans for a party for Mint Breeze. I even made a list of things I’ll need for the party!” She smiled at Rarity. Rarity: “But, Pinkie, isn’t she too young to have a party of her own? I mean...” She got interrupted by Pinkie. Pinkie Pie: “Nonsense! Nopony’s too old nor too young to have a party. What about... next Saturday?” Bright Bulb: “Sounds good to me. What do you think Rarity?” He looked at Rarity. Rarity: “Fine... But please Pinkie, don’t invite too many Ponies... Would you do me that favor? Please?” Pinkie Pie: “But... But... A party isn’t a party if only few Ponies go” She looked at Rarity’s eyes and said “But since you’re my friend... I’ll do it for you.” Rarity: “Thanks Pinkie...” Nurse Redheart: “Well girls. I’m sorry, but you’ll have to go. Your friend need some rest, and I need to take the baby to a special room” (<---- Yeah, I don’t know how those things where they put newly born babies are called... If you guys know, please tell me.) Rainbow Dash: “What? Oh come on! We just entered a few minutes ago! Can’t we stay some more?” Said Dash, who began to get angry. Nurse Redheart: “I’m sorry, but it’s a rule. So please, leave.” Applejack: “C’mon Rainbow, let’s go. We’ll go see Mint Breeze when she’s able to leave.” Rainbow Dash: “Fine. Let’s go...” Bright Bulb: “Wait, do I have to go too? Or can I stay? I mean, since I’m her Husband...” He got interrupted by the Nurse. Nurse Redheart: “I’m afraid that you’ll have to leave too. You can come back tomorrow, around 12:00 p.m. And you’ll be able to take your baby tomorrow too.” Bright Bulb sighed “Fine... Don’t worry honey, I’ll be sure to come back tomorrow. Now get some rest. You need it.” He said giving a smile to Rarity. He got up from the couch and headed towards the door.
After Bright and co. left the room. Nurse Redheart took Mint Breeze from Rarity’s hooves. Who seemed to not want to give her baby away, but at the end she gave her to the Nurse. As she was leaving the room, she saw Rarity’s worried face and told her. Nurse Redheart: “Don’t worry dear, your baby will be fine. Now, get some sleep, watch some T.V. You need to rest. See you tomorrow.” She closed the door behind her, leaving Rarity on her bed. Rarity: “I better don’t worry, I mean, it’s a Hospital after all. It’s full of professionals... Well, I better get some sleep as everybody says.” She said to herself as she got herself comfortable in the bed and fell asleep.
--------- The next day ---------
Bright Bulb: “Good morning you sleepy head!” He said with a smile on his face. Sweetie Belle: “Wake up Sis.! It’s already 1:00 p.m.!” Rarity: “Uh... What?” She began to open her eyes “Bright? Sweetie? When did you get here?” She said as she rubbed her eyes. Bright Bulb: “Well, we got here about an hour ago. The nurse said that by now, you would be able to go home. So, what do you say? Want to go home now?” Rarity: “But... What about Mint Breeze? Have you forgotten about her already?” Bright Bulb: “What? Of course not! The nurse said that we could pick her up after you’ve gotten out of bed.” Sweetie Belle: “Yeah, so get up already! I can’t wait to see the new baby!” She smiled. Rarity: “Well, okay then. Let’s go! I can’t wait to have my baby in my hooves” She got lost in the thought of seeing her baby again...
Since this Episode has gotten pretty long, let’s make long story short: They go to pick up Mint Breeze. They return home, Pinkie makes the Party she promised for the baby. They have fun. And in the following 5 years they go through the difficult part of having a baby. Blah Blah Blah... On to the next episode!
5 Years Passed after Mint Breeze's birth. The Crusaders eventually graduated from school and got their Cutie Marks. Bright and Rarity had a hard time raising her daughter. After the final event of the last story (You know, when Bright tries to return to his original world, but decides to stay. Yes, that event) the 5th birthday party for Mint Breeze was celebrated in Sugar Cube Corner.
------On the way to Sugar Cube Corner------
Mint Breeze: "Mom? Where are we going?" Said the little Mint-colored filly to her Mom. Rarity: "Well, it's a surprise my dear. You'll see when we get there, but believe me, you'll really like it." She smiled at her daughter. Mint Breeze: "But Mooooom! I want to know where we're going!" Said the filly on a whining tone. Bright Bulb: "Now now Mint. Be a little patient, we're not too far from where we're going." Said the Yellow colt to the impatient filly. Mint Breeze sighed "Fine... But I just hope it's good, or else..." She got interrupted by her Mother. Rarity: "See, we're here already." Mint Breeze: "What is this place?" She said while looking at the Bakery. Bright Bulb: "Oh, come on. Don't tell me you already forgot about this place? This is Sugar Cube Corner! You loved to come here when you were younger..." Mint Breeze: "Oh. Yeah... Now I remember, here is where Aunt Pinkie Pie lives, right?" Bright and Rarity looked at each other with a worried face Rarity: "Well, you see dear. Aunt Pinkie had to leave town for a while..." Mint Breeze got a sad look on her face as her Mom said these words. Mint Breeze: "She... She left? But... Today's my birthday. Isn't she going to be here to celebrate it?" She began to tear up. Bright Bulb: "Oh, please Mint, don't cry... Everypony else is here! Even your Aunt Sweetie Belle!" He said trying to cheer up the sad Pony. Mint Breeze sighed "Well, I guess you're right dad... But It won't be the same without Pinkie" Rarity: "Come on Mint. Cheer up! Why don't we get inside?" She said as she opened the door.
The lights were out. But as soon as they stepped in, the lights turned on again. A bunch of Ponies jumped out of their hiding spots and yelled "SURPRISE!" Rarity looked at her daughter whose eyes and mouth were wide open. There was a big poster that had "Happy birthday Mint Breeze" written on it. There were balloons everywhere, various colors streamers, bowls with punch, muffins and cupcakes on tables. And everypony was wearing party hats. Mint Breeze still with her eyes and mouth wide open said.
Mint Breeze: "What... Is this a party... For me?" She got a big smile on her face. Rarity: "Yes, it's to celebrate your 5th birthday dear." She smiled at her.
Then, a Pink bouncing Pony approached them. With her squeaky voice, she said:
Pinkie Pie: "Happy Birthday Mint!" Bright Bulb: "Pinkie? What are you doing here? I thought by now you would be on Manehattan." He got a confused face. Pinkie Pie: "Well, duh! I wouldn't miss my favorite filly's birthday no matter what!" She said as she rubbed Mint's head. Mint Breeze: "Aunt Pinkie! You're here!" She got a even bigger smile "See Mom? Pinkie didn't leave after all!" Her voice cracked. Rarity: "Yes, I see dear..." As Rarity finished talking, Twilight, Applejack and Rainbow Dash approached. Mint Breeze: "Aunt Rainbow! Twilight! Applejack! You're here!" She screamed in happiness. Rainbow Dash: "Of course! We wouldn't miss your Birthday party no matter what." Rarity: "And Fluttershy? Won't she come?" Twilight Sparkle: "Yes, but she said she wanted to get some stuff ready before coming." Bright Bulb looked left and right looking for somepony, not seeing who he was looking for, he asked: "Have any of you seen Sweetie Belle? I don't see her anywhere..." Applejack: "Yes, Ah have seen her! She's in the kitchen with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. Maybe gettin' some snacks."
As Applejack finished talking. A white Pony followed by a Yellow and an Orange Ponies arrived.
Applejack: “Speakin’ of the devil.” She said as she looked at the Mares approaching. Apple Bloom: “You were talkin’ ‘bout us?” Applejack: “Yeah, Bright asked where you were.” Sweetie Belle: “Well, who do we have here?” She rubbed Mint’s head as she smiled. “Happy Birthday, Mint” Mint Breeze: “Hehe, Thanks aunt Sweetie” Rarity: “So, what do you say if we go and take some punch?” Everypony agreed.
While they went to get some punch, the doorbell rang. Pinkie went to open the door. Fluttershy was outside.
Fluttershy: “Hello Pinkie... Can, I pass?” She said with her head lowered. Pinkie Pie: “Yeah, come in Fluttershy!” She let Fluttershy pass.
On the corner of the room, everypony else was drinking punch. When Fluttershy approached them.
Fluttershy: “Hello girls...” Everypony looked at her. Twilight Sparkle: “Hello Fluttershy. Where were you?” Said the lavender pony to her friend, who was taking something out of some bags. Fluttershy: “Well, I was trying to get Angel to eat...” She got interrupted by Mint Breeze. Mint Breeze: “Fluttershy! You came!” Fluttershy: “Oh, of course dear. I wouldn’t forget your birthday. Oh, I almost forgot, here.” She handed Mint a purple box with a yellow ribbon. Mint Breeze: “Ooh, what’s this? A present?” She started to unwrap her present, but Rarity stopped her. Rarity: “Wait, Mint, dear. You can’t open the gifts right now” Mint looked at her. Mint Breeze: “But Mom... I want to open it now!” She said in a whining tone. Rarity: “I know. But can’t you wait until the end of the party to open them?” Mint Breeze sighed “Fine...” Bright Bulb: “Hey, Twilight, where’s Spike? I haven’t seen him anywhere.” Twilight Sparkle: “He’s in the Library, with Owlowiscious helping him.” Bright Bulb: “But, didn’t Spike want to come to the Party? Him and Mint Breeze are good friends.” Twilight Sparkle: “I know, but he said that he wanted to stay in the Library. Celestia knows what he’s doing right now.” She let out a nervous smile.
Minutes passed, and some Ponies began to dance in the center of the room. Meanwhile, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were talking on a corner of the Bakery.
Scootaloo: “Hey, what do you say if we go to our old tree-house after the party?” She said as she drank some punch. Apple Bloom: “Well, ah dunno... We haven’t been in there in quite some time.” She began to think of how their club house would look like at this point. Sweetie Belle: “Oh, come on Apple Bloom. I’m sure It would be fun, you know, remembering the times when we were the Cutie Mark Crusaders and all that.” She smiled. Then, Mint Breeze got near them and asked: Mint Breeze: “Hey girls. What are you talking about?” Scootaloo: “Nothing, really. Just about a reunion in our old tree-house.” Mint Breeze: “Ooh, ooh. Can I go? Please?” She began to jump. She smiled. Scootaloo: “Should we let her go?” Scootaloo looked nervous at her partners. Sweetie Belle: “Yeah. Why not, maybe we could tell her about our adventure when we were about her age.” Mint Breeze: “So... That’s a yes or a no?” Sweetie Belle: “A yes, of course. We would love you to come with us. Right Scootaloo?” She poked her friends shoulder. Scootaloo sighed “Yes... But only if you promise to not tell anypony. Ok?” Mint Breeze: “I promise.” Scootaloo: “Pinkie Pie promise?” Mint Breeze got confused. Mint Breeze: “A what now?” Scootaloo: “Oh, I forgot. You’re too young to know what a Pinkie Pie promise is. Apple Bloom, why don’t you show our little friend here how to do it?” Apple Bloom gasped “Me? Why me? Why don’t Sweetie teaches her? She's her Aunt!” Mint Breeze: “Please Ms. Apple Bloom. I really want to know what a Pinkie Pie promise is” She got to the floor and grabbed Apple Bloom by her hoof.
Apple Bloom: “Fine... Now, put attention. Ok?” Mint nodded “Ok, first: Cross ma’h heart” She made a cross on her chest with her hoof “Hope to fly” She imitated a bird by swinging her hooves up and down “Stick a cupcake in ma’h eye” She “poked” her eye with her hoof. Mint Breeze: “Ow! Doesn’t that last part hurt?” Apple Bloom: “Not if you don’t really poke your eye.” Mint Breeze: “Oh... Well, let’s see if I can do it... Cross my heart, Hope to fly, Stick a cupcake in my EYE” She screamed in pain. Sweetie Belle: “Are you okay?” She ran to her. Mint Breeze: “Yes, I’m fine...” She said while rubbing her eye. Apple Bloom: “Ah told you to not do that.” Scootaloo laughed. Scootaloo: “Any way, you seem to get the hang out of it. You can now come with us after the party.” Mint smiled. Mint Breeze: “Thank you very much! I’ll go tell my parents that I’m going with you after the party.” She ran to where her parents were. Scootaloo: "B... But... I just told her to not tell anypony!" She sighed.
Rarity: “What’s the matter dear? Why are you so happy?” She was confused. Mint Breeze: “Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom are going to their tree-house after the party. And I asked them if I could go with them.” She took a deep breath. Rarity: “And what did they say? Do they let you go with them?” Mint Breeze: “Yes. I just wanted to tell you that I’m going with them after the party. Is it okay?” Rarity: “Of course, you go and have fun. Just promise me you won’t get in trouble. Okay?” Mint Breeze: “I promise! Pinkie Pie promise!” She began to do the Pinkie Pie promise. Rarity looked amazed at her daughter. Rarity: “Who taught you that? Was it your father?” Mint Breeze: “Nope. It was Apple Bloom. Speaking of my dad... Where is he?” She looked left and right looking for Bright Bulb. Rarity: “He’s over there, talking with some other stallions.” She pointed to a group of Colts to the left. Mint Breeze: “Oh... Would you bother to tell him when he comes back? I’ll go with Scootaloo and co. now” She began walking to where she came from. Rarity: “Oh... Okay, I’ll tell him”
About half an hour passed. The party eventually got to an end. When everypony was leaving the only ones remaining on Sugar Cube Corner were: Rarity, Twilight, Rainbow, Pinkie, Applejack, Fluttershy, Bright (Who had fallen asleep), Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle and Mint Breeze.
Scootaloo: “Well, It’s been fun and all. But we got something else to do right now. Why don’t we leave already?” Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom and Mint Breeze nodded. “See you later” She said as the 4 of them exited the bakery. Twilight Sparkle: “Rarity, where is Mint Breeze going?” She asked her friend in a worried tone. Rarity: “Oh, don’t worry dear. She’ll be fine... I hope...”
Scootaloo: “Would you remind me why do we let her come with us?” Sweetie Belle: “Well... Because she’s my niece. Why else?” She smiled. Scootaloo: “You know? I’m starting to think that this was a bad idea... I mean, look at her!” They turned their heads to see Mint Breeze. Sweetie Belle: “I still don’t see your point Scoot... It’ll be fine. Don’t you worry.” Scootaloo: “I hope so! Because if she gets us in trouble...” She got interrupted by the little filly. Mint Breeze: “Are we there yet? I’m starting to get tired...” Scootaloo stared at Sweetie Belle. Scootaloo: “See? She can’t even handle a little walk! Sweetie, I’m sorry. But she has to go. Now.” Sweetie Belle: “Oh come on! Give her a little chance! She’s still very young compared to us. And if this helps, I’ll carry her on my back. That way she won’t have to walk, and thus, she won’t complain!” Her voice cracked at the end of her sentence. Scootaloo sighed “Fine, but if she complains ONE more time, she goes. Got it?” Sweetie Belle: “Got it!” She walked to were Mint was. “Hey, if you’re really tired of walking. Why don’t you get on my back so I can carry you?” Mint Breeze looked at her. Mint Breeze: “Well... Wouldn’t it bother you to be carrying me around?” Sweetie Belle: “Of course not! I used to carry a lot of heavy stuff when I was younger. Carrying you would be pretty easy!” She said as Mint Breeze climbed to her back. And continued their way.
They walked for a few minutes. And finally got to the tree-house.
Scootaloo: “Well. Here we are.” Mint Breeze jumped out of Sweetie’s back. Mint Breeze: “This is your tree-house? It looks really old...” Apple Bloom: “Well, we made it when we were ‘bout your age.” She finally talked. Scootaloo: “Exactly. It has been about... 7 years I think?” Sweetie Belle: “I say it’s been more. Maybe 8-9 years, who knows.” Mint Breeze: “Well, let’s go in! I want to see it from the inside!” She ran to the stairs. And climbed up. Scootaloo: “Sweetie... You have the weirdest family. Ever” She said as she began to walk to the tree-house. Sweetie Belle: “Hey! It’s not my fault! It’s my Sister and Bright’s fault!” She stopped calling Bright “big brother” since she graduated. So she calls him Bright.
-------Inside the tree-house-------
Mint Breeze: “Well. On the inside it doesn’t look so bad... Hey, what’s that?”
She looked to a map that had Sweet Apple Acres, Sugar Cube Corner, The Library, Carousel Boutique, A mountain and a Pond drawn in it.
Apple Bloom: “If ah remember correctly, That’s...” Scootaloo: “That a map we made a time long ago... I kinda forgot why we made it.” Sweetie Belle: “Oh Scootaloo... You already forgot? We made this map when we used to search for our Cutie Marks when we were young.” Scootaloo: “Oh, yeah. Now I remember... I miss those years...” She got lost in thought. Mint Breeze: “You used to go on adventures searching for your Cutie Marks?” Her eyes widened up. Sweetie Belle: “Yes. We used to call us the... The... Gosh, I forgot...” She started to think. Scootaloo: “And you say I’m the one who forgets things? I think I remember it... We used to call us “The Cutie Mark Crusaders”” Mint Breeze: “Ooh, ooh! I would love to hear about that!” She jumped in excitement. Scootaloo: “I KNEW this would happen... Hehe, anyway, sit down Mint. This’ll be a long story.” They sat down on the on the old tree-houses’ floor. Which surprisingly was able to handle the 4 Ponies’ weight. (Since the whole story would take A LOT to make. Mint Breeze: “Wow... That’s a pretty good story... You really did all that just for your Cutie Marks?” She was amazed because of the story. Still eyes wide open. Scootaloo: “Yep. And let me tell you, it was pretty fun..” She sighed “But I just wish I could re-live those awesome years...” Apple Bloom: “Hey, remember that time Ah got Cutie Pox?” She said trying to cheer up her friend. Scootaloo: “Oh, yeah! I forgot about that...” She smiled. Mint Breeze: “Cutie Pox? What’s that?” Scootaloo facehooved "Don't your parents teach you anything? Gosh..." Apple Bloom: "Oh, please Scootaloo. Don't be so harsh with her. She's just a little filly." She smiled at Mint Breeze. "You see, Cutie Pox's an illness that makes the Pony who has it get a ton of Cutie Marks... It may seem like fun, but believe me... It's not." Mint Breeze: "Ooh... Anyway, Ms. Scootaloo. You said that you would love to re-live those years right? Well, why don't we all go on an adventure of our own? Wouldn't that be fun?" Scootaloo lifted an eyebrow. She seemed to like the idea. Scootaloo: "I would love to, but... I have something to do, you know..." She laughed nervously. Apple Bloom: "Oh c'mon now! You won't fool us Scoot! We all know that you'd love to go on adventures once again." Scootaloo: "Fine... I'll admit it. I would love to, but... It wouldn't be the same..." Mint Breeze interrupted. Mint Breeze: "Then it's a deal! Maybe while we're at it, I could get my Cutie Mark too!" She smiled and jumped in joy at the same time. Sweetie Belle laughed. Scootaloo: "What are you laughing at?!" She said on an angry tone. Sweetie Belle: "Oh. Nothing." She rolled her eyes. Scootaloo: "For your own good, I hope so." Mint Breeze: "Oh, please! We don't have time to argue! We need to start thinking about our adventure!" Scootaloo: "Kid... It's not as easy as it looks. An adventure could end horribly wrong or... Or..." She got interrupted by Apple Bloom. Apple Bloom: "What's with Ya and that pessimistic attitude? When we were young, the worst that happened to us was when we encountered that Cockatrice on the Everfree Forest." She chuckled. Scootaloo sighed "Fine... But first. We need to get some supplies, what if we get thirsty or hungry while we're adventuring? It wouldn't be fun, I assure you that." Sweetie Belle rolled her eyes "So... Captain I know everything. Exactly what would we need?" Scootaloo began to think "Let me see... A couple of water bottles... Some food..." She got interrupted. Apple Bloom: "I'll take care of that! I'll take some apples from Sweet Apple Acres!" Scootaloo: "Yes... Thanks Apple Bloom... We'll need some bandages in case we get hurt or something. And... Well, that's pretty much it..." Sweetie Belle: "Well, now that we decided what we'll need. Why don't we decide who will bring what?" Mint Breeze: "Ooh Ooh! I'll bring the bandages! My Mom has a lot of those in our house!"
The CMC looked at each other worried
Apple Bloom: "Oh, we really appreciate that you want to help honey. But... Wouldn't your parents ask why you need those bandages? What if they don't let you come with us? You're the one who had the idea of doing this..." Mint Breeze: "Oh... Guess you're right Ms. Apple Bloom" She sighed "I just wanted to be helpful..." She lowered her head. Sweetie Belle: "Oh, but dear. Don't be sad. Of course you'll help us. The time for you to help us will come when necessary. Don't worry." She smiled. Mint Breeze: "Fine... So, when are we going to reunite to go exploring?" She looked at Scootaloo who was still looking around the Tree-house. Scootaloo: "Uh? Oh. That... Tomorrow maybe?" Sweetie Belle: "Tomorrow? But tomorrow I have a test so I can enter a Music Band." Apple Bloom: "Tomorrow I have a painting lesson..." Mint Breeze: "And Tomorrow I go to School!" Scootaloo sighed "FINE! Then we'll go on Saturday. How about that? Does any of you have anything to do on Saturday?"
They looked at each other.
Sweetie Belle: "I don't. Saturday's fine to me." Apple Bloom: "To me too!" Mint Breeze: "I don't think I'll have anything to do... If I have homework I'll do it as soon as I get home." Scootaloo: "Then it's a deal. We'll begin our adventure this Saturday."
"Deal!" Everypony screamed.
After deciding when they'll begin their new adventure. They each departed to their own houses, Sweetie accompanied Mint to her house since she was too young to go alone. Anxiously waiting for Saturday to come.
Mint Breeze began to pack up water bottles and some packaged food on a pair of bags she was carrying. Seeing this, her mother asked her.
Rarity: "Mint... Dear, what are you doing?" Mint Breeze: "I... Uh..." She began to get nervous.
Then, somepony knocked at the door. And Rarity went to open it.
Rarity: "Oh, hi girls. What's the matter?" Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo were on the other side of the opened door. Sweetie Belle: "Hi Sis., we came to pick up Mint Breeze" Mint Breeze: "Hi Aunt Sweetie! Hi Apple Bloom and Scootaloo" She waved at the three Ponies, who waved back. Rarity: "Why do you need her? Where are you going?" Scootaloo: "We're going to our old Tree-house. There's nothing to be worried about, she'll be fine, as long as she stays with us." She said that last sentence looking at Mint Breeze, who covered her face with her hoof. Rarity: "Okay... I guess. Just promise me that you'll return home safe." The three ponies nodded at her. "Good. Mint, honey. You can go with them" Mint began to run happily to where the three older Ponies were.
Before they left, Sweetie asked Rarity.
Sweetie Belle: "By the way Sis, where's Bright?" Rarity: "Oh... He's with Twilight. He's helping her with her magic spells" Sweetie Belle: "Oh well... Too bad we weren't able to see him... When he comes back, say hello to him from our part." Rarity: "I'll do Little Sis. Now go and have fun... But be sure to don't get hurt" Sweetie Belle sighed angrily "Yes, Mom..." She laughed as they four left the Boutique.
-------On the way to the Tree-house-------
Mint Breeze: "Soooooo.... Where are we going to go first?" Apple Bloom: "We planned to go visit Zecora first" Mint was about to speak when Scootaloo interrupted her. Scootaloo: "Zecora is a Zebra that lives in the Everfree forest, she's an enchantress." Mint was about to speak again, and Scootaloo interrupted her again "The Everfree forest is a forest that is supposed to be very dangerous. Fluttershy lives at the edge of that forest... And enchantress means somepony that does magic spells and makes potions... Any other question?" Mint Breeze: "N... No..." Scootaloo: "Good. Now keep on walking, the more we walk, the faster we'll get to Zecora's Hut." Mint Breeze: "Could I ask why are we going to see her in the first place? What does she has to do with our adventure?" Apple Bloom: "We're going with her because... Well... Not for anything special. Just to visit her" Mint Breeze stared at Apple Bloom. Mint Breeze: "So, what you're saying is that we're going to waste our time visiting somepony..." Scootaloo: "...Zebra" She interrupted Mint Breeze Mint Breeze: "Fine. Visiting someZEBRA who is irrelevant to our adventure?" Scootaloo got surprised. Scootaloo: "So, you know nothing about anything inside or outside Ponyville, but you know what irrelevant means?... Wow... You don't cease to amaze me kid." Mint Breeze: "Well, my parents use that word a lot. So they decided to tell me what it means" Scootaloo facehooved "Your parents teach you the meaning of words, but they don't teach you about old places?... Your parents are SOOOO weird..." Sweetie Belle interrupted her. Sweetie Belle: "Well, if we're going to see Zecora, then why are we going to the Tree-house?" Before Scootaloo could talk, she said "And before you blame somepony else, I should remind you that YOU were the one who told my sister we were going to the tree-house" Scootaloo remained silent. Scootaloo: "Could we sit down and continue talking? I think that would be more comfortable"
So they sat down right where they were at that moment. And continued talking.
Scootaloo: "What was I supposed to tell her? That we were going to the dangerous Everfree forest? Please Sweetie, you know your sister more that any of us... Even more than Mint, an she's her daughter. You think she would let Mint come with us if I told her we were going to the Everfree forest? THINK for one bucking second!" She angrily screamed. Sweetie Belle: "Geez... I... I'm sorry... You don't have to scream at me" Scootaloo: "I'm sorry Sweetie. But seriously, you have to think about EVERYTHING before you do anything. " Sweetie Belle: "Guess, you're right" Scootaloo: "Heck yeah I am" She said to herself. Mint Breeze: "So, are we going to go visit this so called Zecora or what?" She said as she stood up from the ground. Scootaloo: "You know Sweetie? I think I'm beginning to like this kid. She takes stuff seriously." She whispered to her friend's ear. Sweetie Belle: "So... Ready to say it?" Scootaloo: "Say what?" She got confused. Sweetie Belle: "Oh... You know." She lifted an eyebrow. Scootalo: "Ugh... Do I really have to say it?" She groaned. Sweetie Belle: "Yes." Scootaloo sighed "Fine. I'm sorry for calling your family weird." Sweetie Belle: "Better" She looked at Mint Breeze "Yes dear, we can go now" They all stood up from the ground and began to walk once again.
-------Inside The Everfree Forest-------
Mint Breeze: "Y...You weren't kidding when you said this was a scary place" She nervously said as she looked horrified at the trees. Sweetie Belle: "Don't worry Mint, there's nothing to be afraid of. As long as you stay with us, you'll be fine" She said trying to calm her down. Scootaloo: "So, here we are." She said as they all stopped in front of an old hut. Mint Breeze: "Mmm... Seems very old, are you sure Zecora lives here?" Apple Bloom: "It may seem old on the outside. But on the inside, it looks very nice" Scootaloo: "Exactly, thanks Apple Bloom" She walked to the door "Hello? Zecora? Are you home?" Said as she knocked into the door.
Time passed, and the door was still close. Apparently there wasn't anyzebra home.
Mint Breeze: "Well? Does that mean she isn't home?" Scootaloo: "Mmm... That's weird, Zecora's normally always in her home..." ???: "Oh, and who do we have here? Have you all come to visit me?" (F.M.L. ... I know crap for rhyming...)
They all turned back, to see who was speaking.
Scootaloo: "Oh, there you are Zecora. Where were you?" She said as she smiled to her Zebra friend. Zecora: "I was over there, getting some wood so my Hut I can repair." Sweetie Belle: "Repair your hut? What's wrong with it? From here, It seems fine..." Zecora began to walk to her Hut, apparently she wanted the Ponies to follow her. Zecora: "That's what's wrong, this hole on the ground has gotten way too long."
Mint Breeze walked in front of Zecora, and stared at her for a few seconds. Zecora, not knowing who she was, asked:
Zecora: "Who is this? Are you somepony's little Sis?" Mint Breeze: "What?... Oh, No. I'm Rarity's daughter. If you know these Ponies, you sure know my Mom. Don't you?" Zecora: "Rarity you say? Know her I may." Scootaloo: "So, it was good seeing you and all. But we have got somewhere else to go" Zecora: "And where you have to go with such a hurry? If it's something important you can tell me." Scootaloo: "Well, this little fella here..." She pointed at Mint Breeze "... Decided that we should go on an adventure. So we decided to go to the Everfree forest to see what we could find" Zecora: "Oh, but my dear, in the Everfree forest there's a big danger of which you must hear" (Okay, so far, this has been the easiest rhyme of all... Which is kinda lame if you ask me...) Apple Bloom: "Oh, and what dangerous thing could that be? Manticores? Cockatrices? What?" She asked with a big curiosity. Zecora: "Not a lot of about that thing or being is known. Meaning that it's completely unknown" Sweetie Belle: "Thanks Zecora. We'll be sure to remember that. See you" They left Zecora's hut. Going deeper into the Everfree forest.
-------Deeper in the Everfree forest-------
Mint Breeze: “Well, guess Zecora wasn’t as bad as I thought.” Sweetie Belle: “Of course she isn’t. As everypony says: “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”” She smiled. Scootaloo: “Who, except from Twilight says that?” Sweetie Belle: “... Right... Well, you get the idea.” Mint Breeze: “So... Where are we going now? We’ve been walking for quite a while since we left Zecora’s hut.” Sweetie Belle: “I’m sure that if we keep walking, we’ll find something. But I’m still a bit nervous about Zecora’s warning...” She said as she shivered. Apple Bloom: “You still thinkin’ ‘bout that? C’mon Sweetie, forget it already. Ya know how much Zecora loves to scare Ponies.” Sweetie Belle: “Still, what if this time she REALLY meant it? What if...” She bumped with a Colt even bigger than Big Mac. he was wearing a black coat, he had an even darker mane and deep blue eyes. He looked at Sweetie Belle, who backed away in fear. ???: “Oh, I’m sorry if I scared you.” He said with his deep voice. Sweetie Belle: “D... Don’t worry about it” She nervously laughed as she backed away a little bit more. Sam: “So, what are 3 full grown Ponies and a little filly doing in the Everfree forest? Aren’t you scared of the creatures that live in this place? By the way, the name’s Sam.” He said as he raised his hoof to Sweetie Belle. Mint Breeze: “We’re going on an adventure! And while we’re at it, I may be able to get my Cutie Mark!” She jumped in joy as she spoke to the strange stallion. Sam: “On an adventure you say? Well, it’s getting pretty dark. Why don’t you come to my house to spend the night?” Scootaloo: “Oh we would love to, but, you see, my father always told me to...” She got interrupted by the Big Stallion. Sam: “Not trust in strangers?” Scootaloo gasped “Yes, I’ve heard that some time before. Well, if that’s the way you want to be, I’ll just remind you the two options you have right now: A: You sleep outside and get eaten by the creatures or B: You come with me to my house and be safe until day comes.” He turned his big body and began to walk to what looked like an old town.
Scootaloo stopped him, and said:
Scootaloo: “No, don’t... Fine, we’ll go with you. But as soon as sun rises, we go. Got it?” Sam chuckled “Yes, I get it. Now, let’s go. It’s getting darker and darker.”
They walked for a bit, Mint Breeze went to the Stallion’s side and began to talk. Everything seemed fine, until a thought hit Scootaloo’s head. She stopped in place. Seeing this, Sweetie Belle asked:
Sweetie Belle: “What’s wrong Scoot? Have you remembered something you forgot?” Scootaloo: “No... That’s, not it... I remembered something I heard Dash talk about a few years ago. She talked about a Colt just like Sam, who apparently had raped her.” She still was frozen in place. Sweetie Belle: “... And, where exactly you heard Rainbow Dash say this?” Scootaloo: “She was with Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie in Sugar Cube Corner. I peaked through their window to hear what they were talking about... What if, Sam is the Pony Dash talked about?” Apple Bloom: “Oh, c’mon Scoot. Sam seems like a good Stallion, and from what you said, this happened some years ago, right?” Scootaloo nodded “Then, it’s impossible that that Pony could be Sam.” Scootaloo: “Guess, you’re right. Just in case, I’ll be watching this guy very closely.” Apple Bloom: “Do whatever you want.” She rolled her eyes “Now let’s go, we’re getting way behind.”
They trotted until they caught up to Sam and Mint Breeze. Him and Mint Breeze entered the house, and the door suddenly closed behind them. Sweetie, Scootaloo and Apple Bloom gasped and ran to the door. They started to knock trying to see if the door would open... It didn’t open. After a while of constant knocking which eventually became harder knocks...:
Mint Breeze: “HELP!!!!” She screamed at the top of her lungs, her screaming could be heard from the other side of the door.
The three Ponies gasped in horror. They tried to open the door desperate to help their friend... It wouldn’t budge. In desperation, Scootaloo said:
Scootaloo: “See!? I told you! The Pony that raped Dash time ago was Sam!” She continued trying to open the door even though they have failed a few times already. Apple Bloom: “Ah’m sorry for not believing in you Scoot...” She sadly said. Scootaloo: “That’s not important right now, do something useful and search for an opening, we need to save Mint Breeze!” Sweetie Belle: “She... She cares about her... Even though she seemed to be annoyed by her... She, really cares about her” She thought to herself. She looked up and saw a chimney. “Look! I see a chimney over there! But... How are we going to get to it?” She said as she pointed to the chimney. Scootaloo: “I’ll go, since I’m the only one that’s able to fly.” Her wings spread out. Sweetie Belle: “Scoot, are you sure you want to do it?” Scootaloo: “I have to. She’s part of your family, thus, she means a lot to you. Leave it to me.” She flew as fast a she could to the chimney. Going down in it to inside the building.
-------Inside Sam’s house-------
Scootaloo got down the chimney, shaking all the coal-dust out of her, just to see what, could be one of the worst scenes she has ever seen. Mint was tied to a table, her back legs spread open and a bandanna covering her mouth. Mint Breeze kept mumbling, but Scootaloo was unable to understand a word she was saying. Sam walked in, seeing Scootaloo, he said:
Sam: “How did you get inside of here?” He said on an angry tone. Scootaloo: “Let my friend go!” She screamed. Sam: “I’m sorry, but that won’t be possible. She’s my play-toy.” Scootaloo: “But she’s just a little filly you sick pedophile!” She screamed, even agrier than before. Sam: “Little or not, the pleasure’s always the same.”
Scootaloo thought for a few seconds, then she said:
Scootaloo: “Wait! If you let her go, I’ll...” She sighed “...I’ll take her place” Sam lifted an eyebrow, Mint Breeze screamed (Mumbled, whatever. You get the idea) and Scootaloo lowered her head. Sam: “Seems fair to me” He untied Mint Breeze. Took her to the door, briefly opened it, and tossed Mint outside. Door closing behind her. Sweetie Belle: “Mint Breeze! You’re okay! Wait... Where’s Scootaloo? What happened inside of there?” She looked at the little filly, who had a sad face. Mint Breeze: “Scootaloo told Sam to let me go, and that she would take my place in exchange.” She said while sobbing. “I’m sorry... but there wasn’t anything I could do” She began to cry. Apple Bloom: “What?! She’s with that crazy Stallion? Oh no no no no... This, is bad!” Sweetie Belle: “Calm down Apple Bloom! There must be a way to saver her! We’re not leaving one of our team alone.”
Meanwhile, inside the house: Sam was tying up Scootaloo the same way he tied Mint Breeze, but she didn’t seem to want to break free.
Sam: “Oh, what’s wrong dear? You should be happy, you decided to offer yourself to save your friend. That’s a very honorable thing to do” He said as he continued tying Scootaloo. Scootaloo: “What are you going to do to me?...” She said on a sad, almost depressed tone. Sam: “That’s a surprise you’ll have to wait for... I’m almost done”
Scootaloo began to think to herself: “I don’t care what this weirdo does to me... I just care about Mint’s safety” Then, she noticed Sam staring at her Cutie Mark, it was a cloud with a magenta thunder coming out of it, just like Rainbow Dash’s Cutie Mark. “What? Is there something wrong with my Cutie Mark?” Sam looked at her. Sam: “No... It’s just that it reminds me of somepony I met time before...” Scootaloo: “That Pony is one of my friends...” She still used her sad tone. Sam: “Ooh! Then are you family or something?” He said getting more and more interested on what Scootaloo was saying. Scootaloo: “No... She was my teacher, she thought me to fly when I was a little filly...” Sam: “Then, if you’re similar to her, I’ll have a lot of fun with you...” He said while rubbing his hooves. Scootaloo: “Whatever... Just finish with this already...”
Meanwhile, outside Sam’s house:
Sweetie was thinking very hard. Trying to figure out a plan to save her friend. After a few seconds, she got an idea.
Sweetie Belle: “I think I got a plan!” She happily said. Apple Bloom: “Well? What’cha waiting for? Speak up!” Sweetie Belle: “Okay, but pay attention very closely. But first, I need to know: Apple Bloom, by any chance, do you think your back legs are as strong are your sister’s?” Apple Bloom: “Of course. Those things run into the Apple Family’s blood” She proudly said. Sweetie Belle: “Good. In that case, I’ll need you to kick this door as hard as you possibly can, if you manage to knock it down. I’ll use a flashing spell to blind Sam while you and Mint Breeze take Scootaloo.” Apple Bloom: “But, what if the door doesn’t get knocked down? What would we do then?” Sweetie Belle: “It’ll work. I know it. Now, Mint, if you want to repay the favor Scootaloo did for you, you’ll have to help us. Okay?” Mint Breeze: “O... Okay” She said while she cleaned the tears out of her eyes. Sweetie Belle: “At the count of three. 1... 2... 3!”
Apple Bloom kicked Sam’s house door as hard as she could. The door somehow got knocked down. When the door got to the ground, it made a loud noise, which got Sam’s attention. Sweetie Belle tried the flashing spell she said she would do. A bright white light came out of her horn. Which completely blinded Sam enough time for Mint Breeze and Apple Bloom to take Scootaloo. After running a few miles away from Sam’s house, Scootaloo finally talked.
Scootaloo: “Girls... Thanks for rescuing me...” She smiled to her friends. Sweetie Belle: “Oh, it was nothing. You’re one of our friends after all.” Mint Breeze: “Scootaloo?” The little filly nervously got near Scootaloo. Scootaloo: “Yes? What’s wrong little fella?” Mint Breeze: “I... Just wanted to thank you for what you did back there... I.. I really appreciate it” Scootaloo: “Oh, don’t worry. I did it just to keep you safe from that weirdo...” Mint Breeze got near Scootaloo and hugged her. Scootaloo got a big smile on her face and hugged back the little filly. Apple Bloom and Sweetie released a big D’awww when they saw this cute scene. Sweetie Belle: “So, what do you say we return to Pony Ville? It must be like 2:00 a.m. right now... And from what I see, we should get some sleep.” Mint Breeze: “But... I can’t return home now! My mom will kill me!” Scootaloo: “She’s right. I say we should sleep in the tree-house and take Mint Breeze to her home tomorrow. What do you say kiddo?” Mint Breeze: “Seems good to me... But, it’s way too dark. How are we going to know where the tree-house is?” Sweetie’s horn began to glow. Sweetie Belle: “I got that covered. Now, let’s go already.”
Mint Breeze was the first of the four to wake up, she looked through the window just to see that the sun had already rised. She quickly proceeded to wake up Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo.
Mint Breeze: "Girls! Girls! Wake up! It's already day time! The more we stay here, the more my Mom will be worried about me!" She said on a very alarmed tone. Sweetie Belle: "Uh... What?" She was still sleepy "Oh! Right! Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, wake up!" Scootaloo: "Five more minutes..." Sweetie Belle: "Ugh! Fine, if you don't want to wake up by yourself I'll wake you up by myself!" Her horn began to glow, releasing a tiny spark that hit Scootaloo's and Apple Bloom's flank. Who jumped out of the ground screaming in pain. "Ow! What the buck was that for!?" They both said while rubbing their electrified flanks.
Sweetie Belle pointed at the window, Scootaloo then realized what her friend was trying to tell her.
Scootaloo: "Oh! It's already day time" Sweetie facehooved "We have to take Mint Breeze to her home immediately"
-------On the way to Carousel Boutique--------
Mint Breeze: "I don't want to be pessimist but... I'm afraid of what my Mom is going to do to me for being out of home for so long" She shivered as she thought of the consequences. Sweetie Belle: "Don't worry. We'll explain it all to her. You just stay behind us while we talk with her. Okay?" Mint Breeze: "Okay..."
They were outside Carousel Boutique's door. Mint Breeze gave a big *gulp* as Sweetie Belle opened the door. On the other side Rarity was sitting on a couch with her front hooves covering her eyes. Apparently crying. Bright Bulb was next to her trying to calm her down. When they heard the door open, they turned their heads to see who it was. They saw the three full grown Mares with Mint Breeze behind them. Both Rarity and Bright Bulb ran to their daughter, pushing the 3 Mares aside. Rarity hugged Mint Breeze with all of her strength. And in between sobs and tears, she said:
Rarity: "Oh Mint Breeze, we're so happy that you're okay. We were scared to death thinking that something bad had happened to you" She continued sobbing. Mint Breeze: "... Mom... You're hugging me too... hard" She could hardly speak because of the lack of air. Rarity quickly let her go. "But... I wasn't home just for one day... You shouldn't have worried that much" She was trying to catch her breathe. Rarity: "I know... But, since you're too young, we were worried that you would do something you couldn't been able to handle" Sweetie Belle: "Oh, come on Sister. We were taking care of her, do you really think we would let her do something dangerous?" She nervously laughed. Rarity: "Oh, right... I forgot" She started cleaning the tears out of her eyes. Bright Bulb: "By the way... Where were you that took you a whole day to return?" Scootaloo: "Oh, hi Bright. We completely forgot about you!" Bright's face turned into a *Forever a lone* face for a second. Apple Bloom: "We... we were..." She couldn't say a word, fearing she would say something she wasn't supposed to. Sweetie Belle: "Don't worry Apple Bloom... I'll tell them exactly what happened" Apple Bloom: "But... Sweetie... You sure 'bout that? What about..." She got interrupted. Sweetie Belle: "It doesn't matter. They're my family, and they deserve to know exactly what happened" Rarity and Bright looked at each other with a worried face. "Sis., Bright... You should take seat, this is going to be a long story..."
They sat down on the nearest couches. Sweetie began to tell Bright and Rarity what happened since they left their house. When she got to the part where they met Sam, it got very difficult for Sweetie to continue talking. But she eventually continued. Mint's Parents were both amazed and horrified by Sweetie's story. Once she finished, Rarity said:
Rarity: "You made my little daughter go throughout that dangerous stuff!? What were you thinking?! Don't bother, I'll answer that for you: You weren't thinking!" She angrily screamed. Mint Breeze: "Mom, stop! It wasn't their fault, it was my fault" They all gasped (Le gasp... lol) "... I was the one who asked them to go on an adventure, but I didn't know how bad it could go... Scootaloo even told me, but I didn't listen... The only thing I cared about was to be like them... To be a new generation of Cutie Mark Crusader" Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo proudly smiled. Rarity: "Oh... Mint... You should have told me..." Mint interrupted her. Mint Breeze: "For what? For you to yell at me how dangerous it could be? No thanks. That's why I preferred doing this without asking you" Rarity gasped. Rarity: "But Mint, you gotta understand, you're still too young to do stuff like this." Mint Breeze: "Yes. Maybe I am, but my aunt Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo accompanied me. And as you can tell, they wouldn't let anything bad happen to me" Rarity: "Yes... I can see that..." Scootalo: "So... If we aren't required here. We'll be going now." Rarity: "You don't have to go, you can stay if you want, it's okay." Scootaloo: "Hey, I just remembered something." They all looked at Scootaloo "Mint, before we began this adventure I remember you said that you wanted to get your Cutie Mark while we were adventuring, right?" Mint Breeze: "Well... Yes. Why?" Scootaloo: "Well, because you didn't get any Cutie Mark" Mint Breeze: "What?! Really?!" She screamed as she looked at her blank flank.
Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo laughed.
Scootaloo: "Oh kid, don't worry, we went through the same when we were young" Apple Bloom: "And, since ya said ya wanted to be a New Crusader. Well, ya can't be a good Crusader if you don't fail at gettin' your Cutie Mark a couple of times" Scootaloo: "And, since you want to be like us. We could stick around with you for a while until you get your own Cutie Mark" Mint Breeze: "Really? Oh, it would be so awesome! We could go on more adventures like this!" She excitedly said. Sweetie Belle: "Actually, I would prefer NOT having another adventure like this one..."
