A Lonly Place
"Congratulations it's a baby girl." The doctor said as he gave the two mothers there child.
I'm not the kind to get all mushy and cry during a bad situation. But this time I couldn't help it. Some ponies say you're born the way you're destined to be. Others say it's a result of how you were raised. But I like to follow something a friend told me once. He said "somethings you can change, others you can't. Don't let people bring you down. You are who you are and I'm just find with that." I wish I had listened to him, why didn't I listen?
Rainbow Loom feed Rainbow Dash her baby food. "Open wide Rainbow Dash." She made an *op* sound and gave a smile as Rainbow Dash ate. The door opened and Speedy Wings walked throw. "Oh mommy's home."
Speedy kissed her wife and smiled at Rainbow Dash. "Hello there my little angel."
"You know she let me sleep today. Yes she did she let mommy sleep for two hours."
I had the most normal family in the world. We were really the picture perfect all Equestrian family. It wasn't until I was a filly at my uncle Frederick Pastry's wedding when I started to feel different.
Rainbow Dash gave the two stallions there rings and they kissed. Everyone cheered but she tuned it out. Rainbow Dash was lost in a sea of blue eyes as she spotted the boy across from her.
I can't help but think that if I had ignored how that flower colt made me feel then maybe I'd be like everypony else, normal.
"So what do you wanna play next?" Gilda asked me as we and our other two friends sat down on a cloud to rest after racing to my house.
"I don't know...wanna play house?"
"Okay why don't Rainbow Dash and I be the mommies and you to will be our kids and have to do whatever we say."
"No way!" Billy objected, "why don't we be the daddies and you do whatever we say."
"No way." Gilda and Billy glared at each other.
Rainbow Dash spoke up to stop her friends bickering. "I got an idea how about Jason and I play mommy and daddy."
It was silent for a moment and everypony was staring at her.
"That's really weird." Gilda said.
"Come on it'll be fun."
"That's really nasty, what are you some kind of breeder?"
"No I'm not."
"Are too."
"I'm not!"
"Are too! Come on Billy, Jason, we don't play with breeders. I'm telling everypony that you're a nasty little breeder."
I tried really hard to be normal after that.
"Hey Firefly wanna come to my house and hang out?"
"Sorry Rainbow Dash but I can't be seen talking to you."
"Why not?"
"I just can't, we can't be friends anymore." Firefly walked out of the classroom.
Rainbow Dash tried to go after her but then she saw Soarin and Thunderlane. "Hey guys great work on the suicide seen it almost made me cry."
"Thanks RD we worked all night on it." Soarin smiled at her.
"I wish Juliet could be played by a girl." She knew she messed up when the hallway grew quiet.
Billy and his friends started to laugh. "Rainbow Dash like colts! Rainbow Dash likes colts!"
Soon everyone was saying it even Gilda. All she could do stare at Soarin and hope he would stand up for her.
"Come on Soarin lets go." Thunderlane pulled Soarin away and he didn't object.
So much for being normal.
"Rainbow Dash did you tell your mom that you got cast in the school play?" Rainbow Loom asked.
Speedy Wings looked up from her meal. "School play? What happened to trying out for the Junior Speedsters. Don't you wanna be a Wonderbolt?"
"I didn't get into the Speedsters." Rainbow Dash push around her food.
"Really after all that training we did."
"Sorry mom I'm just not coordinated."
"But your coordinated to act? School play huh? Isn't that for colts?"
"No it's for fillies to, were doing Romeo and Juliet I'm playing the nurse."
"That's wonderful isn't honey?" Rainbow Loom but in trying to reason with her wife.
"Did you know that Shakespony wrote it for his true love Lady Flower Petals?" Rainbow Dash added in.
"Lady?" Speedy was getting more irritated.
"Yeah but he could break up with his coltfriend so he wrote Romeo and Juliet."
"And who told you this?"
"Mr. Dubla."
"Who's that?"
"The drama teacher."
"We'll have to make a call to that school." It grew quiet at the dinner table. "Did you see the new hetero couple down the street move in?"
"Yes I saw them and how do you know they're not gay?" Rainbow Loom asked with curiosity.
"I saw him put his arm around her and they have a pink and blue flag in their window. Rainbow Dash I want you to fly the other way to school."
"But that's twice as long."
"I don't care."
"Honey I think you're being a little to hard there."
"No I will not have my child exposed to that kind of lifestyle. Mares and stallions living together like it's okay. It's agents Celestia's rules so, revolting."
We went to church that Sunday.
The preset took the stand and she held up her hoof for silence. "In light of the northern empire where heterosexual marriage is legal. I want to remind you Celestia says that all heterosexuals will burn in hell. It is a sin for a stallion to lust for a mare. It is a sin for a mare to lye with a stallion outside of breeding season. Let us pray."
All I could think about was Soarin and how we used to hold hoofs and talk about everything. He told me he wants to be the first colt to be in the Wonderbolts. The way we used to kiss. The fillies in school were starting to get suspicious and they would beat me up for no reason. I remember them stuffing my head down the toilet in the boys bathroom.
"Just admit you're a Ro, Ro." Gilda pulled Rainbow Dashes head up only to stuff it back down.
"Gilda what are you doing in the boys bathroom?" Mr. Dubla asked. "Get out of here now!" He pulled Rainbow Dashes head out of the toilet. "Rainbow Dash this behavior is not tolerated. Maybe it would help if you get a marefirend, what would your parents say if they saw you holding hoofs with a colt? This is just a phase Rainbow Dash and I should call both of your parents, but I think this is punishment enough now get out of here."
I hoped this was just a phase like Mr. Dubla had said. Then I remembered how Soarins hoof felt in mine and how the thought of kissing him made me go crazy. That's how I knew it wasn't a phase and I hated myself for it.
Rainbow Dash sat in her room reading over her lines when a letter came through the transporter.
Rainbow Dash is a RO!
She wanted to ignore it but then others came.
Rainbow Dash does it with boys!
Nopony wants you Rainbow Dash.
Heterrrooo!!!
The letters just kept coming and coming.
Finally Soarin sent me a letter saying we need to talk. We met up in the auditorium after school.
"Listen Rainbow Dash I can't do this anymore."
"But I thought you liked me."
"I do, did, anyway Thunderlane found out and he threatened to tell my parents they'd kill me if they found out."
"No they wouldn't they love you."
"You don't know my dads. I just can't do this anymore."
"Can I kiss you one last time. I don't know when I'll even get to kiss a colt again."
As I leaned into him I heard a voice from the other side of the auditorium. "Gotcha." Gilda said with a smirk on her face.
"OH MY GOSH! What are you doing! I was just trying to be nice to you!" Soarin exclaimed.
"See that's the problem you can't be nice to Ro's, but you can always teach them a lesson. Grab her!"
Rainbow Dash flew out of there but Gilda, Billy and his friends were on her tail. She flew into the gym.
"Grab her!"
Rainbow Dash bumped into to Thunderlane and they all had her surrounded. "So you're the hetero that tried to hold my friends hoof."
"He wanted me to."
"No you forced him!"
Everypony pushed her to the floor and started to beat her up.
Everypony started to chant. "Smear the Queer! Smear the Queer!"
Gilda got on top of Rainbow Dash and pulled out a black marker. She wrote 'Hetero' on Rainbow Dashes forehead. "Why don't you do us a favor Ro and kill yourself."
It hurt so much. Not just the places were they punched me but my heart. Why was I like this, if it was so wrong why was I like this?
"No she didn't come home today." Rainbow Loom was talking on the phone looking for Rainbow Dash.
Then she walked in the door with a busted lip and hetero on her forehead.
"Rainbow Dash!" Speedy Wings looked at her and immediately got angry. "Who did this to you!?"
"Nopony."
"Well you didn't do this to your self."
Rainbow Loom held her daughters face with caring eyes. "Who did this to you?"
"Gilda, Billy and some guys at school."
Speedy couldn't believe it. "I'm going to give that school a call. Rainbow Dash go up stairs, NOW! And clean up your face."
I could hear them talking from my room. Yelling at each other about moving and me taking karate lessons. It was too much they were mad at me because I was different. Everypony hated me because I was different. Why didn't Soarin tell 'em? Why didn't he stick up for me? Why was I different? Maybe I should just...die.
Rainbow Dash listened to her parents from the top of the stairs, she couldn't take it anymore. She locked herself in the bathroom and ran water for a bath. The she turned on the sink and started wiping the marker off her face. She cried and cried and she couldn't stop. She opened the medicine cabinet and shuffled throw it.
I should just die.
She looked at the pill bottle Morphine, he moms painkillers when her wing starts to ache. She opened the bottle, she doesn't know how many she took but the bottle was empty by the time her mother, Rainbow Loom, knocked on the door.
"Rainbow Dash are you okay?"
She didn't say anything, the Morphine wasn't working fast enough she still felt the pain in her heart and she couldn't control it. She wish that there was a pain she could control. If anything like that exist she'd like to use it. That's when she spotted a razor blade in a cup on the sink. She took the blade out and made a long and deep cut down her arm.
"Rainbow Dash are you in there? The waters overflowing!"
Rainbow Dash looked at the floor she was standing in water. She walked over to the bathtub and walked in. She laid down so her whole body went under water. She didn't bother holding her breath.
Soon Rainbow Loom called Speedy Wing to come up sitars and they bust down the door. There, in the bathroom, they saw Rainbow Dash.
Word spread around the school about my suicide and later that day Soarin killed himself. Later in years heterosexuals started to overpopulate Equestria and homosexuals were the outcast. Wait that's the world we live in now. We treat people so bad because they're not like because they're different. You can literally bully somepony to death if you're a bully you need to stop or you can cause someones death. If you're being bullied talk to someone you have a choice. Don't be like me and hold everything inside or you'll end up drowning in a pool of your own blood, dead with somepony screaming your name.
"Rainbow Dash!"
