"one thousand years ago there lived two princesses, one raised the sun to bring the day (Celestia) while the other raised the moon to bring the night (Luna) the two sisters maintained balance throughout Equestria. One day however, Luna noticed that the children played only in the day and slept through the night so she sought to bring about eternal night so that ponies would see her beautiful moon. Celestia, however, was against such an idea and attempted to use powerful objects known as the elements of harmony to banish her sister to the moon, but her attempt failed, for Luna was connected to the elements just as Celestia was. In the end, Luna used her dark magic to banish Celestia to the moon and took on a new name... Nightmare Moon." the pony that had been reading out loud smiled as she read the history of her mentor. Midnight Defiance thought about what she had read for a moment before grasping another book in her orange magic and bringing it over. Ancient prophecies was on the cover. "I'm sure I read something about Celestia's return somewhere." Midnight said as her magenta eyes scanned the pages of the book until they came upon what she was looking for. "On the thousandth year, during the Lunar Eclipse, the stars shall aid in Celestia's escape and she shall bring about the day once more." one thousand years ago that wouldn't sound menacing, but for Midnight it was possibly life threatening as the day hadn't occurred since Celestia's banishment. Growling in annoyance, Midnight brought over a quill and parchment and wrote a letter to her mentor, Princess Nightmare.

Dear Princess Nightmare
I've recently review the Ancient Prophecies and I've found that this coming Lunar Eclipse will be the thousandth since Celestia's banishment, The prophecies state that on the thousandth year, during the Lunar Eclipse, the stars will aid in Celestia's escape. This is very bad news for, after one thousand years without the sun, I fear that to bring it out again would be possibly life threatening. I request permission to aid you in defeating her again once she returns.

Midnight Defiance

Midnight rolled up the parchment and used her magic to set it alight. The parchment burned in a black flame before the ashes headed out the window of the Ancient Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters and headed for it's destination. It wasn't long before she got a reply as one of the Shadowbolts flew in.
"The Princess wishes to see you now." the Shadowbolt, named Dark Dash, said.
"On it." Midnight said as she teleported to the throne room.

Midnight bowed respectfully to Nightmare before speaking. "You wished to see me Princess Nightmare?" Midnight asked.
"We're alone so you're free to dispense of the formalities." Nightmare said.
"I wasn't sure if we were alone." Midnight said.
"It's okay, but spending all your time reading really isn't."
"Then what should I do Moony?" Midnight smiled mischievously at calling her mentor such a childish name.
"I'm sending you to Vamponyville to oversee the preparations for the Lunar Eclipse, and to make some friends." Nightmare said.
"Outsiders other than you are not allowed."
"Yes, unless they agree to get turned." Nightmare smiled evily
"Then I've got a vampony only town to go to now don't I?" Midnight wouldn't say it in front of Nightmare, but she had always wanted to be a vampony.
"Indeed you do."

An hour later, Midnight was at the borders to Vamponyville awaiting the mayor.
"What is it that you want outsider?" the Mayor asked as she came up.
"I'm Midnight Defiance, I'm here to oversee the preparations for the Lunar Eclipse." Midnight said.
"Are you willing to be turned?"
"I am willing to do anything to help Princess Nightmare Moon, so yes."
"Good." the mayor lunged at Midnight and sank her fangs into her neck. Midnight almost instantly passed out.

Midnight awoke sometime later in a small room with a mirror and a glass of blood. Midnight first checked herself over in the mirror. She still had her dark purple coat, her dark red mane and tail with their medium and light red stripes, her mane and tail were still styled exactly like Twilight Sparkles (even though she didn't know who that was) though it was a little messy now from sleeping. "This actually looks good on me." Midnight said as she carefully brushed her mane to leave several stray strands in it. Midnight took note of her now glowing red eyes and that she still had her normal cutie mark, a red six pointed star with a slightly smaller black six pointed star that had been rotated ninety degrees and appeared to be behind the red one, she also had five smaller black stars around them. Where's my fangs, oh wait, they're retractable. Midnight thought as she opened her mouth and unsheathed her new fangs, taking note that all her teeth were sharper now as well. After re-examining herself, she levitated the glass of blood over to herself and drank it. "Tastes like oranges, I guess different ponies have different tasting blood." Midnight said as she took her checklist out and left the building. "First off, food preparations at Sweet Apple Acres. hmm and it says that the pony I'm to talk to is also the best punisher in Equestria." Midnight smiled at that prospect and headed for her first destination.

Midnight calmly approached Sweet Apple Acres and entered before going over to a dark orange earth vampony. "Hello I'm Midnight Defiance and I'm here to-" Midnight was cut off as the earth vampony spoke.
"I'm Defiant Shadow, you must be here on orders from Princess Nightmare." Defiant said.
"Ah you're the one I'm to talk with about food preparation, and according to my notes, you're the best punisher around."
"Indeed I am, well we have everything ready to go for food so you should be on your way." Midnight nodded and took note of Defiant's appearance before leaving, she liked to remember those she had to speak with in case Nightmare wanted their appearance. Defiant had a dark orange coat, her mane and tail were purple and styled like Apple Jack's without the bands holding it up (though of course they didn't know who Apple Jack was) and was messy, something Midnight suspected was common with vamponies. Her eyes were the same glowing red as any vampony's and her cutie mark was three apples with poison dripping off of them. Midnight also took note of the whip around her wast, which had spikes through most of it except the handle.
"next up is weather, which according to my list is handled by the commander, a Night Blood. hmm, don't the shadow-" Midnight wasn't able to finish as the pony in question slammed into her and the two went rolling for a bit before stopping.
"Sorry." Night Blood said.
"It's fine, but what isn't fine is that you haven't cleared the skies just yet, I take it you're Night Blood." Night got off her.
"Yea, how'd you know?"
"The Shadowbolts talk about you a lot."
"Really!" Night flew several feet in the air from the mere thought that the Shadowbolts spoke of her.
"Mostly about your obsession with them, they haven't said anything about your flight ability yet."
"Oh I could show you some of my moves and you could tell he Shadowbolts."
"Not until I'm finished with everything I came here to do, and you finish clearing the skies." Night dashed off to do just that and so Midnight headed for her next target, though she did go over Night Blood's appearance in her head. Night Blood had had a dark blue coat with a mane colored like an inverted rainbow and styled like Rainbow Dash's, though a bit messy. She had had the bat-wings of all Pegasus vamponies, the fangs even though they were retracted, and the glowing red eyes of any vampony. her cutie mark had been a storm cloud with and inverted rainbow colored lightning bolt. She had a lightning bolt shaped sword strapped across her back in a way that prevented it from interfering with her flight, there was sparks of lightning arcing off of it. "Next is decorations, done by a Blade Hex. hmm it says that she's also a skilled poison and potion brewer as well as an armor crafter." Midnight said after checking the first two things she needed to check on off her list.

Midnight soon showed up at Carousel Boutique, where Blade Hex worked.
"Yes?" a black unicorn vampony asked as she came in.
"Hello I'm Midnight Defiance and I'm here to check on the decorations for the Lunar Eclipse Celebration." Midnight said.
"You mean the Midnight Defiance, the same Midnight Defiance who defeated seven manticores and became Princess Nightmare Moon's personal student?" the Unicorn was clearly a fan
"It was only two manticores and they were a little distracted, yes I'm Princess Nightmare Moon's personal student."
"Sorry, I get like that sometimes when around powerful unicorns, I'm Blade Hex."
"Good, so how are the decorations coming along?"
"Great, I'm having no trouble with designing them, even though the Princess had a rather specific order."
"Nightmare get's that way." Midnight said, then realized something.
"Oh sorry, I'm use to calling her by name." Midnight said to the white maned unicorn.
"It's fine." Blade Hex spun around and went back to work, multiple spools of thread flying around her and encased in an ocean blue magic aura. Midnight took note of the three red diamonds that were Blade's cutie mark before she left for her next target. Midnight also noted the two blades infused with paralysis poison at Blade's sides. "Okay next on the list is the music, which is conducted by-" she froze when she saw the name.

Trying to keep herself calm and not impossibly happy, Midnight approached the cottage at the edge of the Everfree Forest and soon spotted her best friends and the music conductor, Blazing Moon. Blazing Moon's coat was gold, her mane was blue with light blue stripes and styled like Fluttershy's, her cutie mark was three black butterflies with red circles on their wings. She had the normal features for a Pegusus Vampony, bat-like wings, glowing red eyes, and fangs. Blazing Moon suddenly saw her and tackled her to the ground.
"Midnight, what are you doing here?" Blazing asked happily.
"I should ask the adopted daughter of Nightmare Moon the same question." Midnight countered.
"Oh, well I just got bored of the castle so I came here, I was a little hesitant on being turned though."
"I wasn't, now as to why I'm here. I'm actually overseeing the Lunar Eclipse Celebration and came to check on the music, you can imagine my shock when I found out that it was you I was going to be checking on."
"Well the music's doing great, so do you have anything planed after leaving my territory, because I was thinking about having Shadow Death throw you a welcome to the pack party, she's the local party planner."
"Actually I have to talk with the local hit-pony first, since we obviously need protection for such a large event, especially since it's the thousandth year."
"Right, this is the night that Celestia is to return and bring back the sun." Blazing shivered at the thought, she shared Midnight's concern about how the sun would affect ponies that hadn't been in its light for a thousand years. Midnight nodded and checked her list as she got up.
"Would you mind coming with me to talk with the local hit-pony?"
"How come?"
"She's Shadow Death."
"Oh right, I almost forgot."

Sugar Cube corner was certainly not the place Midnight would expect a hit-pony to live.
"Welcome to Sugar Cube Corner, how may I help you?" a red earth vampony asked as she popped up from behind the counter.
"I'm looking for Shadow Death." Midnight said.
"Oh, may I ask what you want her for?" the vampony asked.
"I'm Midnight Defiance, The Princess sent me here to oversee the Lunar Eclipse Celebration, oh and don't hide the fact that you're Shadow Death, Blazing here is my best friend and she already described you on the way here." Midnight said.
"Very well, what did you come here for?" Shadow Death had a red coat, her mane was flat, messy and pitch black. Her cutie mark was three balloons, two black and one purple, all of them had skull and cross-bones in them. She also had a scythe strapped across her back.
"Well I came to request a welcome to the pack party for Midnight, and she's here to speak with you about your other hobby." Blazing Moon said.
"Oh, come with me into the basement Midnight, Blazing you write down Midnight's preferences." Shadow said as she led Midnight to the basement.
"So then, the Princess needs the local hit-pony to aid in protecting her for the celebration?" Shadow asked after they got to the basement, suddenly serious.
"Yes, she request it be secretive, but she wishes you to be on complete alert, and not to attack Celestia if she returns, only the rebels that will likely show themselves upon Celestia's return are to be killed immediately. How much will it cost?" Midnight asked.
"Nothing silly, I do this for fun, not for bits." Shadow said, becoming energetic again before literally vanishing with a pop. Midnight looked, confused, at the spot Shadow had been moments ago before shaking her head and going to Golden Oaks Library, which was where she would be staying for the time.

"SURPRISE!!" everypony yelled as Midnight entered the library and turned on the dull light.
"Were you surprised?!" Shadow asked as she popped up out of nowhere.
"Very, both from the party and you." Midnight said, still shocked beyond belief at Shadow's apparent disagreement with the laws of physics and reality.
"Oh right, you're knew around here so you're not use to me, you will be eventually though."
"I hope so. Look I'm really grateful for the party, but I need to find a way to aid Princess Nightmare Moon in defeating Celestia when she returns during the Lunar Eclipse Celebration, or possibly face her myself."
"We'll do that after the party."
"Fine." Midnight was annoyed. The party began after that and everypony started having fun. Midnight grabbed a glass of blood and took a sip. "Apples." she observed.
"Yep, we mix it with the blood." Defiant said as she came over.
"Oh, how come?" Midnight asked.
"Just to add a little extra flavor."
"I guess that makes sense."
"Midnight come with me I have some important information relating towards Celestia." Blazing said as she came up
"Okay, I'll talk with you later Defiant Shadow." Midnight said before heading to, what she assumed to be, her room while in Vamponyville. "So what did you want to talk to me about?" Midnight asked as she closed the door with her magic.
"Aside from getting onto you for only using magic, I wanted to talk to you about the Elements of Harmony and something I remember mom telling me." Blazing said.
"I know that I need to get out of the habit of just using magic. What about the Elements of Harmony?"
"First off they're known as the Elements of Chaos now. Second, mom partly corrupted them so that, even if she were to lose her connection to them, she wouldn't be able to be harmed by them."
"So what are the Elements of Harmony and where would I find them, should I need to use them against Celestia?"
"You mean we. The elements will not connect to a single pony, they connect to two, three, or six ponies, or other creatures, that hold the traits related to each."
"Okay. So, again, what are they?"
"There are six elements, they were originally Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty, Loyalty, and the sixth element which is still unknown. After mom corrupted them they became Cruelty, Fear, Malevolence, Deceit, Betrayal, and the sixth element which mom couldn't corrupt as it is the most powerful of the six."
"Finding ponies with those traits will be hard, but finding ponies with those traits that are willing to help will be harder."
"Not really, I've already figured out one pony that embodies one of the elements. Also mom was only able to partly corrupt them. The ponies that have the traits of each must also have the traits of the original and use both together to be considered worthy of the element they represent."
"who's the one pony you've found that is such with one of them?"
"Me. I represent the element of Kindness/Cruelty In that I am kind and willing to help, but I'm likely to help in a rather cruel way. Like for instance when I had to treat that night guard because she had a bad infection in her wing. Do you remember how I helped her?"
"You cut the infection, and skin that it effected, off without having anypony use a pain relief spell on her."
"Exactly, I was kind for helping her even though I didn't know her, but cruel in the way I helped her. That's what I mean by showing both traits."
"This is very useful information. May I ask you a question?"
"What is it?"
"Is Shadow Death always so confusing and unnatural?"
"Yep, she loves to break the rules of reality and the laws of physics. You'll get use to it if you stick around long enough." Blazing smiled after speaking.

Seven hours after the party, everypony was at the town square, awaiting the hour of the Lunar Eclipse. "Citizens of Vamponyville! It is with great honor that we will welcome Princess Nightmare Moon here today as she begins the Lunar Eclipse, the celebration of the beginning of her glorious eternal night. Now I welcome the Princess of the dark herself!" the mayor said as she motioned towards a balcony where red curtains drew aside to reveal, not Nightmare Moon, but rather one of the shadowbolts.
"I haven't time to explain, all of us are in danger, get to your houses and block the windows now!" the shadowbolt, named Mist Claw, said frantically before vanishing.
A golden mist entered the area then and took the form of the Princess of the Day herself, Celestia, in full golden armor. "My little ponies, it has been so long. I honestly expected the world to be dead by now." Celestia said.
"Who are you. Guards get her." the mayor yelled out. Two Night guards attacked Celestia then, only to be nearly incinerated by a solar blast of magic.
"Have you all forgotten who I am?"
Midnight stepped up and spoke with strength in her voice. "I know who you are, you're Celestia, the ex-princess of the day." Midnight said, with venom at the mention of day.
"Sompony who remembers me, then you know why I'm here."
"To potentially kill all of us with your sun."
"I am merely here to bring back a lost balance, not kill."
"You forget that's it's been a thousand years, do you honestly expect ponies to not have evolved to better live in an environment of eternal night?"
"The only pony that could have defeated me is now defeated herself, what do you intend to do?"
"Save all of Equestria from your scorching flame." Blazing Moon said as she stepped up.
"And you would be?" Celestia asked.
"Blazing Moon, adopted daughter of Nightmare Moon." Blazing spun around to head towards the Everfree
"And where are you going?"
"Home." Blazing spoke the word carefully and Midnight knew the hidden message as she began following.
"Insolent brats."
About halfway to The Ancient Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters, Midnight heard a rustling in the bushes and the other four ponies she had met came out.
"We're coming to and there is nothing you can say to stop us." Defiant said.
Midnight looked over at Shadow. "Don't you have ponies to kill?" Midnight asked.
"Done with them, now come on we have to get to the castle and the Elements of Chaos." Shadow said,
"Very well let's go." Blazing said as they headed off.
The six soon got to the castle and Blazing lead them to the elements, stopping at a door marked with six spheres.
"When we go through this, we'll be separated and put through challenges that relate to which element each of us is closest to, if we pass then we're connected to the element in question, I've gone through before so I'll wait on the other side." Blazing said before opening the door, all six were blinded by a bright light.

Night Blood blinked a few times to clear the brightness from her eyes before looking around. She was in the forest, and the other four ponies were there as well. Wait four, where's Blazing... oh right, she said she'd wait on the other side Night thought. "Hey girls, you all up?" Night asked.
"Yea we're up, so should we head off?" Shadow asked as she checked her scythe for dirt stains.
"Why do you care about getting dirt on your scythe Shadow Death?" Blade Hex asked.
"Because I don't want the dirt dulling the blade when I need it to kill."
Night Blood shrugged as the two started bickering and Defiant and Midnight started talking about what they expected for each challenge.
"Hey." somepony behind Night said.
Night turned around, and squealed like a filly, when she saw Dead Strike, the captain of the shadowbolts, behind her. "You're Dead Strike!" Night yelled with happiness, though none of the other four ponies seemed to notice.
"I am, and you must be Night Blood. Welcome to the team." Dead Strike placed a black pin on Night's chest.
"Really, I've got to tell my friends!"
"No! If you wish to join us and gain back their weapons then you must leave them now."
"Alright." Night took to the air.
"Very well, we'll lead you to their weapons, but you are not to return them." Dead Strike took flight as both Dark Dash and Mist Claw appeared
The four soon got to the weapons and Night Blood picked them up. "Thanks for getting me these back. And thanks for the offer to join you." Night said.
"It's our ples-" Mist claw was cut off as Night continued.
"But just because I'm a traitor, doesn't mean I'm not loyal as well. See you three later." Night flew off fast enough to create a sonic-rainboom and quickly got back to her friends.
"Night." Midnight, Defiant, Shadow, and Blade all said in unison.
"I believe these belong to you." Night said as she handed Defiant, Blade, and Shadow their weapons.
"What happened?" Midnight asked, Night recalled what happened to her as fast as possible before the group continued on.
Blade Hex suddenly found herself surrounded by fog and in front of a giant dragon that was holding her friends. "Let them go!" Blade yelled out.
"Only if you give me some gems." the dragon said evilly.
Blade Hex sighed and levitated her blades off her side. "Take these, they're made of emeralds."
"A generous offer." the dragon took the blades with care and let Blade Hex's friends go.
"Don't count on it. I may be generous, but I wouldn't trust a dragon that just threatened my friends."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
Blade didn't have time to reply before both daggers exploded with tremendous force and killed the dragon. "Don't mess with my friends."

"What did you do to those?" Midnight asked.
"When I saw that the dragon had all of you, I cast an illusion spell on my daggers to hide them and created explosive clones of them."
"Did you see the look of terror that crossed that dragon's face before he exploded, that was hilarious." Shadow said with an insane giggle.
"You find fear to be funny?" Midnight asked.
"No of course not. I see Fear and laughter as the same."
"I'll go look ahead, since we're lost." Defiant said as she went ahead. She soon found a door that seemed to glow. Considering it their only chance at the moment, Defiant turned to head back, then she had a better idea. "I love this." Defiant went to a tree that she knew her friends would pass and used one of the spikes on her whip to carve out an arrow that pointed to the door, she then headed to meet her friends.
"Hey Defiant, you find anything?" Midnight asked.
"I found a door that might get us out of here, it's that way." Defiant motioned with a hoof in the direction that would lead them to her carved arrow.
The five soon found the arrow and followed it to the door.
"Why'd you lie?" Midnight asked.
"I lied by deceiving you into walking a different direction to find an arrow I carved pointing you in the right direction. I do this a lot when I'm bored. The group nodded to each other and left through the door.

Midnight looked at Blazing with confusion.
"The door silently put you through the trial so you've all been connected to an element, however I can't tell you which is which and only when ignited by a spark will the elements reveal themselves." Blazing said.
Let's just go and kill Celestia." Midnight said as she cast a shadow cloak spell on everypony to protect them from the sun

The group soon made it to Vamponyville and, under the protection of their shadow cloaks, saw the sun for the first time. The sun seemed to light anypony the it hit on fire and burn them in seconds. "I was afraid of this." Midnight said as she turned away from a pony that had fallen into the light of the sun.
"So the imbeciles have returned." Celestia said as the group entered the main hall, where she was siting.
"We've come to end you." Midnight said.
"How?"
"Our method doesn't matter."
"I never asked. Who are you again?"
"Midnight Defiance, personal student of Princess Nightmare Moon.
"Okay, now I know what to put on the grave."
Midnight had had just about enough of Celestia's talking and got ready to end her there, but Celestia and used the brief distraction to close the distance between them and slammed her into a wall.
"Midnight!" Blazing called out in fear.
As Midnight stared at her and her other four friends, something ignited inside her. A bright light blasted Celestia away as Midnight floated in the air, suspended by powerful magic. "You want to know how we'll defeat you Celestia, then I'll tell you." Midnight said
"What do you mean?" Celestia asked
"Blazing Moon, who is willing to help in a cruel manner, represents Kindness and Cruelty. Night Blood, who will betray her friends to get what they need and remain loyal to them, represents Loyalty and Betrayal. Blade Hex, who is generous at heart but has a malicious mind, represents Generosity and Malevolence. Shadow Death, who doesn't differentiate fear from laughter, represents Laughter and Fear. Defiant Shadow, who deceives to show the truth, represents Honesty and Deceit. together these five ponies hold within them the magic of harmony and chaos. Together they create the final component, Magic." Every utterance caused a necklace related towards the respective pony's cutie mark to appear around their neck, with a crown forming on Midnight's head.
"The Elements of Harmony." Celestia said with terror in her voice.
"We are chaos." Midnight whispered before a rainbow colored beam shot out of the sphere that had formed around the element bearers and hit Celestia hard, splattering blood across the wall and destroying the roof. Being as they had been the only ponies in the building, nopony was harmed except Celestia, from the blast. The elements also protected the bearers from the sun as Nightmare Moon appeared and lowered it once more.
"Good night princess." Midnight said as she and her friends bowed.
"Good night to you as well." Nightmare Moon said as Blazing got up and ran over to her, hugging her.
"Why do I get the feeling that all this was planed out?" Midnight asked.
"Because it was, I new that you six embodied the elements best and that Celestia would return."
"So... I guess I have to go back to the castle now." Midnight said sadly.
"Mist Claw take a letter." Nightmare Moon said as Mist Claw flew in.
"Yes Princess." Mist Claw said.
"I Princess Nightmare Moon hear by declare that the ponies Blade Hex, Defiant Shadow, Night Blood, and Shadow Death are to move in with me in The Ancient Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters as permanent residence. They are free to go between their homes in the castle and in Vamponyville and are to be treated as part of the family."
"Really, we can live here?" Blade Hex asked excitedly.
"Trust me, it's not easy, you'll have to memorize the secret rooms, secret passages, and traps to be able to live her safely." Blazing said.
"Wait why weren't you mentioned?"
"Blade... I'm Nightmare Moon's daughter I don't need her permission to live here and I chose to leave, I'm only at the edge though so finding me wont be hard."
"I'll get started on the party!!" Shadow Death called out before moving at blinding speeds to set the party up.

Dear Princess Twilight
I request you at Canterlot Castle immediately to discuss something of great importance. Do not bring anything except yourself as you will have time to pack later, and don't bring or tell anypony, this is something you must do alone.

Twilight reread the letter a few times before rolling it up and incinerating it with some fire magic.
"What'd it say Twilight?" Spike asked.
"Sorry Spike, I'm not to tell anypony, not even you. I'll let you know more when I get back." Twilight said.
"Oh... okay."
Twilight flew out of her castle and headed for Canterlot.

"You wished to see me Celestia." Twilight asked as she flew through the window, since she was a princess now, she had dropped the formal title.
"Twilight, I'm sending you around Equestria on peace negotiations." Celestia said.
"Really, with who?"
"The Blood and Bat empires, The Everfree Changeling Hive, and the Cave's of your kingdom where a particularly disobedient pony has lived for years."
Twilight groaned at the mention of a changeling hive. "Explain."
"The Blood Empire is a small empire near the other side of the Everfree. You are to speak with Princess Blood Flame. DO NOT speak with her father, King Flaming Death, as it was Blood Flame who requested the negotiations. Oh and don't try any of the food offered unless you feel that you can trust Princess Blood Flame."
"May I ask her secondary princess status?"

"The Bat Empire is home of the batponies, such as the Lunar Guard, most aren't too friendly to non batponies. You're going to meat first with the librarian/scientist known as Blade Wing. He'll give you something to help you blend in with the locals as to not spike any suspicion. Afterwards you'll meet with Princess Red Fang, she'll discuss the idea of peace with you."
"What of her parents?"
"Both dead, she just prefers the term princess."
"Got it."
"The Everfree Hive is very well known and not for good reason, it's Chrysalis' hive. You'll be speaking with Princess Shadow Mind behind her mothers back. When you get there, expect to be captured as Shadow Mind doesn't wish to draw suspicion from her mother. Shadow Mind will use some of her magic to give you the appearance of a changeling princess and wishes you try to refrain from revealing yourself."
"Do I HAVE to go into the hive of my worst enemy?"
"Yes. As princesses we're to accept any request for peace negotiations and Shadow Mind specifically asked for you since changeling magic isn't something that most ponies can handle being forced onto them. As the Element of Magic, she believes you're more than capable of handling it."
"I don't think I'm particularly interested in being manipulated by changeling magic."
"Not many would be, but it is necessary."
"Understandable."
"The pony I spoke of is named Midnight Heart, she is a powerful unicorn that actively studies all of the forbidden arts. she requested you bring some armor for an unspecified reason."
"What are the forbidden arts?"
"Black Magic (what Sombra used, though his was intermingled with two other magics), Dark Magic (the magic mostly found in the Alicorn Amulet), Changeling Magic (which is expressively forbidden for unicorns and alicorns alike), Necromancy (I shouldn't need to explain that one), and Nightmare Magic (what Nightmare Moon used) are the most common. Lunar and Solar magic are also forbidden to any unicorn or alicorn other than me and Luna."
"Oh." Twilight turned and headed off, but was stopped when Celestia called her.
"Two more things. One do not ever try any of the magics I've specified. Two, if you find a pony that looks exactly like you except with the primary mane and coat colors swapped and a cutie mark of a hexagram with the symbol of the Elements of Harmony at each point, then tell her I said hi. Also she is allowed to come with you."
"Will do Celestia."

Twilight flew back into her castle in the Friendship Rainbow Kingdom, formally Ponyville, and went to her room to pack for what she suspected would be one long trip.
"Where you going Twilight?" Rainbow Dash asked as Twilight came back into the throne room.
"I have some peace negotiations that I need to attend to and I'm not allowed to identify them." Twilight said as she started writing a checklist of everything she would likely need.
A sudden extremely strong wind picked up in the center of the castle as it seemed to draw on the magic of the Elements of Harmony, pulling in each aspect and morphing them. As the whirlwind of magic died down, an alicorn matching the description Celestia had given stood up. The pony's coat was the main color of Twilight's mane, her mane was light purple with the two stripes that Twilights had. Her cutie mark was a hexagram with the six pointed star that was the Element of Magic at the top point, a butterfly symbolizing the Element of Kindness was at the point immediately to the right of the top one, followed by a balloon, diamond, apple, and lightning bolt at the rest of the points going clockwise and symbolizing laughter, generosity, honesty, and loyalty in that order. Her eyes were an unnaturally bright gold color.
"Good morning Elements of Magic and Loyalty, may I ask your names?" the pony asked with a respectful bow.
"Who are you huh?" Rainbow Dash asked as she shot to right in front of the pony.
"I am Tranquil wind, guardian of the spirits of the Elements of Harmony. I don't know any of you, but I could tell each of you your element." Tranquil said.
"Forgive Rainbow Dash, she a little untrusting sometimes. I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship." Twilight said.
"No need for formal titles around me, the last Elements of Harmony were ALL princesses and princes and all alicorns."
"Okay, oh... Celestia told me to tell you that she says hi."
"Tia? Are Cad, Somb, Woona, Chrysy, and Nighty still around as well?"
"Who?"
"Oh you don't know their nicknames. I meant Cadence, Sombra, Luna, Chrysalis, and Nightmare."
"Why are you asking?"
"Because them and Celestia are the former Elements of Harmony, they defeated Discord together."
"But... I've seen the past and it was only Luna and Celestia that defeated Discord, and Nightmare Moon was just an evil spirit that took over Luna."
"You must have seen the temporal lie that they set up for safety, so how are all of them?"
"Um well, Cadence is the current ruler of the Crystal Empire, next to my brother Shinning armor. Sombra turned evil and is, I think, dead. Luna and Celestia are ruling together in canterlot. Chrysalis tried to invade canterlot a few years ago and resides in her hive. and Nightmare Moon was defeated by me and my friends a few years ago."
"You really don't know the truth do you?"
"What truth?"
"Simple." Tranquil said as her horn lit up in a rainbow colored aura that matched perfectly to the rainbow effect the elements created when being used together. A series of images following what Tranquil was saying started forming. "Cadence, Celestia, Sombra, Luna, Nightmare, and Chrysalis are the former elements of Laughter, Magic, Generosity, Loyalty, Honesty, and Kindness respectively. They are all siblings, and all alicorns. Chrysalis is considered an alicorn because the definition of alicorn is a pony with a horn and wings, it doesn't specify unicorn horn and Pegasus wings. Nightmare is Luna's twin sister and they're the oldest of the siblings. Nightmare got trapped inside Luna after a little accident involving their magic. Celestia and Sombra are also twins and often act as light and dark respectively. Cadence is the second youngest while Chrysalis is the youngest of the siblings. Something nopony knows is that Clover the Clever and Starswirl are the sibling's parents. I actually have a spell that I can use to free Nightmare from Luna." Tranquil smiled when she saw that Twilight was listening to everything said, even rainbow dash was listening.
"Continue please." Rainbow Dash said.
"I do know some things about each of you as the most resent Elements of Harmony. Each element has a side trait or ability that was set by the first ponies to ever wield them. For magic it is usually extreme resistance to magical side effects making all magic mostly safe to be used on them. for Loyalty it is the legendary Sonic Rainboom, which is always what connects the newest element bearers, because of this there have only been a few cases where the Element of Loyalty wasn't a winged being. For Laughter it is a natural defiance of the laws of physics and rules of reality."
"That's me." Pinkie Pie said after jumping out of Tranquil's mane. "I'm Pinkie Pie and OHMYGOSH I need to get a welcome party ready." Pinkie added before vanishing into thin air.
"Anyway, I'm use to it after over one thousand different groups of the Elements of Harmony. For Generosity it is a slightly unusual obsession with gems and crystals. For honesty it is the ability to TELL weather somepony is lying or not. For Kindness it's the legendary eyes of fear, an ability to force ANY creature into complete submission and, if used with extreme practice, can kill. By the way, what are the names of the other elements?"
"Huh... oh, Apple Jack is the Element of Honesty, Fluttershy is the Element of Kindness, and Rarity is the Element of Laughter. Why are you only now showing up?" Twilight said.
"Usually I show up only a few months after the elements are once more wielded, but for some reason all of you abandoned what your element stood for at the same time and so I had to wait until you were all once more fully tuned to your elements." Tranquil said.
"Oh, that must have been when Discord manipulated us after escaping."
"Likely, where is he anyway?"
"Right here, and I'm reformed so no worries." Discord said after popping into existence.
"He really is so you don't need to attack him. Discord this is-" Discord cut Twilight off.
"Tranquil Wind, it's been a long time."
"Not long enough Discord, I wont ever forgive you for what you tried to do to my home." Tranquil hissed.
"Oh are you STILL mad about that, well I'll have you know that my Blunder Seeds did eventually grow and that I helped fix the problem."
"Somehow I doubt that."
"Actually he did help a bit, we actually had to give up the elements to save the Tree of Harmony." Twilight said.
"Then I guess I owe you. And good, I wasn't actually that happy that Celestia and her siblings took the elements from my home and left them in a castle for one thousand years." Tranquil said.
Discord popped out of existence again as Luna flew in. "Hello again Tranq." Luna said.
"Hi Luna, how've you and Nightmare been?" Tranquil asked.
"We're fine, though Nightmare still wants out, especially after what she did while under the influence of Nightmare Magic."
"Actually, I was needing to see you both regarding that very subject. I made a spell to reverse Nightmare's mistake."
"That would be nice. I'm getting tired of having two voices in my head." Luna said, barely holding her excitement.
"Hold still." Tranquil cast her spell and a purplish mist exited Luna's body before reforming into Nightmare Moon, but she looked a lot more like Luna. Nightmare's mane had stabilized to match her twin's, she was the same size as Luna, and she was wearing the royal clothing that was hers.
"Thank you so much Tranq!" Nightmare said loudly before tackling Tranquil in a hug.
"Next time don't try to perform a strong spell without having others put up anti spell shields around them for protection." Tranquil said with a faint giggle.
"I will, thanks again." Nightmare said before her and Luna teleported off.
"Um... so, Celestia said that you could come with me while I conduct peace negotiations, Chrysalis' hive is on that list, though she doesn't know it." Twilight said.
"That'd be nice, I can also keep her distracted." Tranquil said.
"Hey why do you look so much like Twilight?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Oh. I'm merely an entity created by the Elements of Harmony, because of that I don't actually have my own appearance, so instead I base it off the Element of Magic at the time. My entire appearance and even my species changes based off the element of magic. Once I was a changeling because the changeling was the Element of Magic. The only things that aren't completely based off the Element of Magic are my gender (I'm female and always will be) and my cutie mark (it keeps the hexagram and the element of magic, but the other elements change appearance based off the the elements of that time) The elements (except magic) always base themselves off the cutie marks of the ponies chosen, why do you think Twilight didn't get her cutie mark until your Sonic Rainboom, and thus not until she was chosen as the Element of Magic. Another interesting fact about the Elements is that each one has an ability that is activated by the element of magic charging them. for Honesty, it makes the ponies in the area willingly speak the truth, though they don't have to speak at all, weather they knew it was the truth or not. For Laughter, it makes the ponies in the effect radius happy and giddy. For Generosity, the ponies in the effect radius are willingly generous. For Kindness, it makes those in the effect radius kind towards each other (this could be used to help solve problems based around miss understanding). For Loyalty, those effected are loyal to each other and stay that way when around the spirit of the Element of Loyalty (This could help ponies get over trust problems). Once an element is charged, then the effect radius exists around both the physical embodiment of each and the spirits of each, though with practice a spirit of an Element of Harmony can learn to turn off this effect for themselves and their element."
"Cool, I guess you two should get going though."
"We should, so where to first?"
"The Blood Empire." Twilight said and the two headed off.

(1st) Blood and Secrets

Twilight and Tranquil stopped when they got to the borders of the Blood Empire. "Why is it called the Blood Empire?" Twilight asked.
"Don't ask me, I've only heard it in passing." Tranquil said.
"And yet you're how old?"
Tranquil thought about it and did the math in her head for a few minutes. "Too old to count, I've been around for as long as the Tree of Harmony has, and it began growing about three thousand years after the world began, so I'm older than even Discord."
"That's interesting." an alicorn said as she came up and smiled, revealing razor sharp teeth.
"who are you?" Tranquil asked while Twilight tried to comprehend the site of a pony with teeth built for tearing meat.
"I'm Princess Blood Flame." Blood Flame said. Blood Flame's coat was red. Her mane and tail were light blue and parted at the back to fall on either side of her head. Her eyes were a similar red to her coat. Her cutie mark was of a fireball angled downward with a drop of blood in the center of the ball of fire. With her was a guard in armor with a bright red coat, black mane similarly styled to Fluttershy's, slitted pupils with blood red eyes, and what was likely a a shooting star with a faintly seen blood trail as a cutie mark.
"Nice to meet you Princess Blood Flame." Tranquil said with a bow.
"I'm surprised with both of you, normally, when a pony sees my teeth, they scream and run."
"I'm a being that exists solely to protect the Elements of Harmony and the Tree of Harmony. Trust me, a pony with teeth like yours is nothing compared to some of the things I've seen, and I think you broke Twilight." Tranquil motioned absently towards Twilight, who was now starting to find her voice.
"B-but that's not possible, how can you have teeth like that, it's unnatural." Twilight said.
"And I'm not? Twilight, this is Princess Blood Flame, I'm assuming that she's the one you need to talk to." Tranquil said.
"Yea." Twilight regained her composure shockingly fast.
"So which of you is the one I'm meant to talk to, I thought Celestia only sent one pony?" Blood Flame asked.
"That would be me, I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship."
"I'm Tranquil Wind, guardian of harmony, so I guess you could say I'm the Princess of Harmony." Tranquil said as the four started heading for a castle.
"Nice to meet both of you. I'm Princess Blood Flame, Princess of the Blood Empire and Princess of Fear." Blood Flame said.
"Again nice to meet you, may I ask the reason for the Empire's name?" Tranquil asked.
"Maybe later."

After a few minutes of walking, the group got to the castle and then to Blood Flame's personal chambers.
"Star Chaser, guard the door and do not allow dad in, not even if he issues a royal command. You're my guard now and thus do not serve him" Blood Flame said.
"Yes Princess." the pony guard that had been with her since she met Twilight and Tranquil said as she headed out the door.
"Okay onto business. I'm requesting these peace negotiations behind my father's back and you are not to talk to him about it. I'm getting this over with now before I become ruler." Blood Flame said.
"Understandable Princess, shall we begin?" Twilight asked.
"Never be formal around me, I despise formality."
"Okay Blood Flame, so should I ask some questions to get to understand your kingdom better?"
"That'd be nice."
"why are your teeth like that?"
"The Blood Empire consist only of razorcorns, I know it's a terrible name, they are a sub-race to unicorns and carnivorous by nature. I intend to change the term used for them, practically like every ruler before me."
"Okay, so why is the Blood empire named so?"
Blood Flame sighed. "you wont like the answer. The Empire was once known for it's peacefulness, then Celestia attacked. She considered us evil for our carnivorous nature and pony blood, she said we were demons and that we would forever be reminded of the blood we shed to survive. She put a curse on the empire that made blood a guarantied factor in our cutie marks. As you know, a cutie mark defines who somepony is, and back then ponies thought that they would be punished if they didn't live up to their cutie marks, this lead the empire to spiral into darkness and become vicious, feral creatures. The mere thought of ever becoming anything else was unheard of. some time after the curse was placed, a pony of the empire chose their own path and ignored the blood related towards their cutie mark, they lived a perfect life and brought the entire empire into an uproar. We were finally free of ourselves, but we never forgot what Celestia did to us. We changed the Empire's Name to what it is today. The blood represents both the blood on our cutie marks, and the blood of the one that spiraled us into madness." Twilight stared at Blood Flame with absolute shock.
"You've got to be lying, Celestia woul-" Tranquil wind cut her off.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that. Tia has been known to be a bit paranoid at times. I've never know Celestia to just randomly curse an entire kingdom, but then again, I was only around if she needed me." Tranquil said.
"So... can we move onto something more interesting, and bring back less terrible memories?" Blood Flame asked.
"Yea, let's." Twilight said.

After about three hours, the two had finished talking about how Blood Flame intended to improve the relations of hers and Twilight's Kingdom, though she made it very clear that she was not going to talk about peace with Canterlot until Celestia was no longer in power.
"So... tell me a bit about yourself Twilight?" Blood Flame asked.
"Well... I'm the Element of Magic. I'm the former student to Celestia, though not anymore since I became a princess. My kingdom use to be the small town of Ponyville." Twilight started.
"You mean Ponyville, as in the town next to the Everfree Forest, even closer than our own kingdom." Blood Flame was rather interested in the idea.
"Actually, The Friendship Rainbow Kingdom is technically part of the Everfree Forest, at least it is since it became a kingdom."
"The Friendship Rainbow Kingdom?"
"Yea, it's the name I chose after my castle grew in Ponyville."
"Grew?"
"It was created from a strange box at the base of the Tree of Harmony."
"The Seed of Harmony, it's the tree's way of thanking those that save it and holds pure Harmony magic." Tranquil said.
"Harmony Magic?"
"The Elements of Harmony, when used, are using Harmony Magic, the same magic I use, the only magic that matches it in power is the evil Chaos Magic. Discord was created from a unicorn attempting Chaos magic and is the embodiment of Chaos Magic, any unicorn or alicorn that tries Chaos Magic becomes corrupted and basically becomes either Discord or a female version of him, depending on the gender. Many unicorns have attempted to overpower the corruptive nature of Chaos magic, even unicorns of legend, but all of them have failed."
"Harmony Magic?" Blood Flame asked, apparently having been distracted.
In response, Tranquil's horn lit up in a rainbow colored magic. "Harmony magic works to repair order, while Chaos magic works to destroy it."
"Oh, I guess that makes sense. You're turn."
"My story is longer than Discord, Celestia, and Luna's combined, but I'll just mention the highlights. I started my existence within the Tree of Harmony as it's guardian. Every time the Elements are chosen and brought together, I wait until they use them for the first time, then it's usually a month before I show up, I take the form of the pony that's the element of Magic, just with their main mane color and coat color swapped, my cutie mark is always a hexagram with the element of magic at the top, the other element's symbols change based on the ponies cutie marks or in the, case of changelings, their hive symbol. I have thousands of centuries worth of knowledge and a direct connection to the elements. Any current element of harmony is able to call on me for assistance and I'll show up to aid them. Ponies are naturally harmonic around me because of the aura the flows from me at all times."
"So the Elements of Harmony are always races of ponies?"
"Yea, it's because all pony races have the strongest magic."
"Wait, but changelings aren't ponies." Twilight intervened.
"Actually they are. Changelings are a sub-race to alicorns, just as bat-ponies are a sub-race to pegasi."
"That makes sense." Twilight lowered her voice as she began mentally analyzing some situation from the past. "If bat-ponies are a sub-race to pegasi then that would explain why exposure to my magic and the vampire fruit bats caused Fluttershy to become a bat-pony."
"Wait... what did you just say?"
"A few weeks ago, Applejack had a vampire fruit bat infestation. When I tried to fix it with my magic, I turned Fluttershy into a vampire fruit bat/pony hybrid, I was able to fix it luckily."
"Are you sure that you turned Fluttershy back?"
"Of course I did, magic fixes everything." Tranquil sighed at the comment.
"Twilight, there are lessons I have to teach, one of them is that magic doesn't fix everything. Another is that magic, no mater what, can never change an element of harmony's appearance or personality, they have to already exist within the element bearer."
"What do you mean?"
"When you cast whatever spell you used to stop the vampire fruit bats, which I'm assuming would be a desire spell, sure you put the desire to act like a vampire fruit bat into Fluttershy, but the only way her appearance would have changed would be if bat-pony blood was already in her. All you really would have done would be awakening that side of her, which hopefully wont be found out by the bat-ponies, otherwise Fluttershy and her parents, as well as anypony associated with her, would be in danger."
"WHAT! How come?"
"Bat-ponies don't usually like 'normal' ponies, and most bat ponies would kill all associated with a batponiy/normal pony hybrid."
Twilight began repeating 'ohno' over and over again as she thought about all the possible outcomes to Fluttershy's apparent heritage.
"Is she usually like this?" Blood flame asked.
"Beats me, I've only been around her for a total of six hours."
"Really, but she's certainly used her element more than that."
"She has, but when Discord got free he corrupted the element bearers and briefly severed them from their element, this meant I had to wait for them to fully reconnect with their elements.
After another hour of talking, Twilight came to her senses and rushed Tranquil out so they could get to the Bat Empire.

Twilight and Tranquil landed at the entrance to a cave near the Bat Empire.
"This the place?" Twilight asked, looking over to Tranquil.
"Beats me, I wasn't present when Tia gave you the locations." Tranquil said.
A batpony stallion with pale blue coat, short bright orange mane and tail, slitted blue eyes, and a cutie mark of three yellow bats making out the shape of a triangle stepped out. "Good morning princesses, I'm Blade Wing. I trust you are here for a disguise correct." the batpony, revealed to be Blade Wing, said.
"Yes, I'm princess Twilight Sparkle, and this is Princess Tranquil Wind." Twilight said, Tranquil didn't complain about being called princess.
"It's a pleasure to aid you, follow me into my lab."
The Three headed into the cave and soon made it to Blade Wing's lab. Blade Wing's lab had countless high quality machines with some magic based devices and some technologically based devices. On the table that Blade Wing had moved over to was what appeared to be a silver bracelet that seamed to glow with faint magic.
"This device will bend the light rays around you to give the illusion that you're just another batpony. Only Princess Red Fang and I know of its existence." Blade Wings said.
Twilight nodded and went over to where Blade Wing was. "Tranquil, how are you going to hide yourself, seeing as there's only one device?" Twilight asked.
"Simple, I'm just going to use changeling magic, after all, I was a changeling during one of my shifts." Tranquil said as her horn lit up in a green aura that seemed almost entirely stable. In a flash of green flames, Tranquil looked exactly like a normal batpony version of herself, complete with bat-wings, fangs, slitted eyes, bat-like ears, and no horn. "Before you say anything, I'm not breaking the law by toying with forbidden magic, the law relates only to ponies, I'm technically not a pony."
Blade Wing finished getting the device on Twilight's hoof then and her form seemed to fade from alicorn to normal batpony. "This device only bends the light so it's not fool-proof. Try not to come into physically contact with any batponies as if they feel your wings or horn then they'll know it's an illusion." Blade Wing said before going over and checking Tranquil, showing shock at finding that tranquil was a perfect physical match to a batpony. "How?"
"Changeling magic warps the body, making it a perfect copy of what the user is wanting, only the most practiced users are able to formulate a perfect disguise without much of a reference."

After a bit of talking, during which Tranquil and Twilight learned that Red Fang was a lot like Rarity and preferred to be treated as the princess she was, the two flew off to the castle.
"What did you mean when you said shifts?" Twilight asked as they flew towards the castle.
"That's what I usually call each time I have a new set of Elements of Harmony to guard." Tranquil answered calmly.
Twilight fell silent after that as her thoughts began to drift. After only an hour or so of flight, the two landed at the front of the castle and Red Fang opened the gates. "Good morning Princess Twilight Sparkle and Princess Tranquil Wind, I've been expecting you, please come in." Red Fang said.. Red Fang had a black coat, slitted silver eyes, and dark purple mane and tail with the mane going down to right above her front left hoof.

2nd
The Vampony Pegasus mare ran through the streets of Vamponyville as she tried to shake her seven pursuers with the ancient sword she had taken still in her mouth. She looked behind her, only to see two alicorn vamponies, two Pegasus vamponies, two earth vamponies, and one unicorn vampony right behind her. Damn, they're still following me, I should know better than to try and outrun the Elements of Chaos the vampony thought as she took a corner as fast as she could, hearing the sound of the ponies crashing into the wall. She looked behind her again and found that four of them were still pursuing her. Great idea Solar Sun, steal the all powerful ancient sword from the heavenly guarded ancient castle within the ancient evil forest while the Princess of the Night is wide awake and the ancient magical beings of Harmony-turned-Chaos are walking around during a sleep over with only one dagger and zero magic, as well as weak wings. Yea I just don't know how this could have possibly gone wrong. Oh and top all of that off with the fact that I don't have the slightest clues as to just how this thing works nor why my employer would want it in the first place She took another turn as fast as she could and spotted the portal that would lead her back to her employer. She jumped through and the portal closed behind her.
The Elements of Chaos and their knew ally, the guardian of the Elements of Chaos, Shifting Wave, skidded to a halt as the portal closed.
"We missed her." Midnight Defiance hissed.
"We should have sent somepony to check for portals before we even began to pursue her. Who was that anyway?" Night Blood asked.
"I don't know, though it's nice that I showed up in time to have some fun." Shifting Wave said.

Solar Sun walked into the throne room carefully, keeping her head hidden by the white cloak she wore Why did I go with white when it's always dark in the world? she asked herself.
"Have you succeeded in the task give to you?" a dark male voice asked.
"You wanted that cursed blade I've delivered." Solar Sun said as she set the sword down at the base of the throne and held out her hoof, revealing it to be dark bluish grey. "I've done my part, now you do yours."
"Of course." The large stallion handed Solar Sun a large bag of bits.
"I trust you aren't trying to trick me, because I will ensure I get my full pay and your blood if you are."
"I wouldn't do such a thing."
Solar Sun left the room after that, but she put her ear against the door the second it had closed, seeing as there were no guards.
"Finally, with this I'll destroy this dimension and the next, and nopony, not even those pathetic Elements of Chaos, can stop me." came the muffled voice of the stallion, Solar Sun left after that.
I can't let him do that, oh how I wish I hadn't excepted the job. I need to warn the Princess, I just hope she listens After that thought crossed her mind, Solar Sun broke into supernatural speed and headed back to the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters. While running, her hood flew back, revealing her glowing red eyes and her blue mane styled similarly to Night Blood's mane, though slightly different.

"Thank you for speaking with me." Red Fang said as Twilight and Tranquil left.
"Great, now I need to go to the Everfree Hive, this better not be some trap." Twilight said, almost hissing.
"If this Princess Shadow Mind is anything like Chrysy was then I doubt it's a trap, she's likely just wanting to make getting food for the hive easier since friendship is a powerful force, strong enough to feed an entire hive with ease, and obviously The Friendship Rainbow Kingdom would be full of it, having the Princess of Friendship herself living there." Tranquil said.
"I still don't think I should trust her."
"Think about it this way, if the peace negotiations go over nicely for you and her then, while I'm catching up with Chrysy, you can learn more about changelings and changeling hives." Tranquil smiled after that while Twilight's eyes lit up.
"Then what are we waiting for?" she asked before going almost triple her original speed, if Tranquil wasn't a great flier then she would have been left behind, luckly she was able to easily keep pace with Twilight.
Knew it'd work she thought.

Twilight groaned as her and Tranquil approached the territory of the Everfree Hive. "I wish I didn't have to be here." Twilight said.
"Still thinking about what Red Fang said?" Tranquil asked.
"I just can't believe Celestia would do something like that."
"Hmm, sending a small army to eradicate the bat-ponies under the pretense of them aiding Nightmare Moon, after sending her sister to the moon, sorry but I can't clarify weather that would be true or not. I was called back to the Tree of Harmony when Sombra betrayed his element one hundred years before that."
"I've been meaning to ask. Since you were created by the Tree of Harmony, does that make it like your parent?"
"No. I was created by it as a kind of self-thinking mobile body and as its protector. The Tree of Harmony is technically female and as her protector I'm able to wield all six of the elements at their full power should the need ever arise."
Before Twilight or Tranquil could say another word, everything went black.

Tranquil and Twilight woke up in cocoons on a low ceiling.
Tranquil re-positioned herself from being upside down to being right side up and relaxed.
"The Princess will be here soon, please get comfortable." a changeling drone said as he came in, then left.
Twilight looked angrily at Tranquil, who just shrugged the look off as she closed her eyes.
After an hour or so, a changeling came in that looked different from the rest. She had the same black carapace as the drone that had come in, a blue saddle like carapace on her back that covered the same area as Chrysalis' did, complete with the parts that went around her waist, a pale green mane and tail with bright green stripes that mostly hung down on her right side and looked to be made of a membrane like material with holes in them, her eyes were oval-like and slitted colored a light blue color, on her head was a crown that looked similar to Chrysalis'. "I'm Princess Shadow Mind." Shadow Mind said as she cut the cocoons down and broke them open.
"Been a while since I was in one of those, I'm Tranquil Wind and this is Princess Twilight Sparkle." Tranquil said.
"Nice to meet you Shadow Mind." Twilight said.
"Wait, Tranquil Wind, as in the guardian of the spirits of the Elements of Harmony?"
"I take it that Chrysy has spoken of me."
"Yea, she's in the throne room, I think you can find your way." Shadow Mind was happy that Tranquil was here.
"Yep." Tranquil said before teleporting away.
"Okay, so what now?" Twilight asked.
"Hold still, this might feel strange." Shadow Mind said before placing her front hooves on Twilight's back and focusing her magic into twilight.
Green flames lit up around Twilight and slowly crept up her hooves, turning them into black changeling hooves, complete with the holes. The flames continued to her waist, where a saddle carapace, the same color as her coat, began to form, while still covering her body in a black carapace. The flames finished creating the saddle carapace, which matched in general appearance to Shadow Mind's own saddle carapace then started on her tail and mane. As the flames passed over Twilight's tail and mane, they became membrane like, turned completely sapphire blue, and gained several holes. The flames soon finished her body, mane, and tail. The flame then spread down the length of her wings, turning them into thinner versions of Chrysalis' though they were white and matched in appearance to Shadow Mind's wings which were light blue. Next the flames changed Twilight's eyes to match those of a changeling princess or changeling queen and gave her fangs. Finally, the flames briefly engulfed her crown and turned it into one a changeling princess would wear. Twilight swayed a bit after the magic that had been forced into her dissipated before shaking the feeling away.
"How do you feel?" Shadow Mind asked
"Alienated from my own body." Twilight stated plainly.
"Good, then there were no side-effects other than what I've theorized."
"Side-effects?"
"Well to put it simply, I wasn't entirely sure if you would be effected deeper than intended or not. Other than that, if my theory is correct then the only real side-effects from this should consist of some emotional numbness, and possibly a preference to be around positive emotions, both would be temporary of course."
"Let's just get to the peace talks, hopefully I wont here another story about Celestia's darker side."
"Very well, and you shouldn't, unless you consider teasing my mom as dark."

with Chrysalis and Tranquil
"So, Twilight's the new element of magic." Chrysalis said after getting off Tranquil. Like the others before her, Chrysalis had tackled Tranquil almost the second she recognized her.
"Yea and seeing as you recognized my color scheme and cutie mark, I take it you had to deal with her once in the past." Tranquil said.
"Yea, a few years ago, I tried invading Canterlot because my hive was starving, she managed to see past my disguise and then her brother and his wife, the one I was disguised as since it was their wedding, blasted me and my warriors and infiltrators out of Canterlot with a love spell."
Tranquil began giggling at that. "You were defeated by the must nutritious source of food for your race?"
"Hey!... we feed off emotions because they hold an inner power and love is the strongest of those."
"Actually friendship is the strongest because it can only be felt by a group, not just one or two ponies, and is literally the embodiment of Harmony."
"What ever. Why are you even here?"
"A guardian can't just go and see one of their former elements after being gone a thousand years?"
"When it come to you... no."
"Well I can't say, and you know you can't get it out of me."
Chrysalis hissed, it was true, one couldn't get some kinds of information out of Tranquil if they held her life in their hooves, literally. "Fine." she hissed in a language that sounded like buzzing.
"Oh come on Chrysy, it's not like I'm standing over your daughter with a dagger." Tranquil's sarcastic edge was obvious even though she had spoke in the same language as Chrysalis had.

With Twilight and Shadow Mind.
"So, you think I can ask you a few questions about changelings and changeling hives?" Twilight asked after finishing the actual peace negotiations.
"Sure." Shadow Mind said.
"Okay, first of all, why the insect terminology even though it's clear that changelings are more pony than insect?"
"Oh that's just a little joke we changelings like using. For instance, a drone is a male changeling while nymph is the term we use for females."
"Okay, so what about that?" Twilight motioned to a changeling nymph that was standing on a wall, sticking to it perfectly.
"Passive magic, kind of like how earth ponies passively aid in plant growth, or how pegasi passively walk on clouds. It's also one of the reason why unicorns and alicorns are forbidden to use changeling magic, I don't know all the details though."
"What about feeding off love?"
"Actually we feed off all emotions, which is why I wanted to be on peaceful terms with your kingdom before I take over when mom dies, if she dies anytime soon that is. The Friendship Rainbow Kingdom is full of friendship which is more nutritious than love. To answer your question though, it's both a passive and active form of changeling magic. we can actively cast the spell to take in large amounts of an emotion or we can absorb it passively."
"Okay. So, if changelings are similar to ponies as much as they seem to be then do you have jobs for each one?"
"Yes. Workers help build or repair the hive, infiltrators take on pony forms and hide within pony society to collect love, collectors enter the places where infiltrators are and collect the love that the infiltrators have gathered before bringing it back to the hive, nursers are assigned to families and help take care of the hatch-lings and teach them, and warriors are the military and guard forces."
"So changelings lay eggs?"
"Yes we do, changelings can mate and reproduce in a similar way to ponies, though the hatch-lings are at least four times as mischievous as a pony's foal."
"Okay. I've heard rumors that changelings are emotionless, is that true?"
"Yes and no."
"huh?"
"Yes it's true for Insect Hives, but no it's not true for Free Hives like this one."
"Insect and free hives?"
"When a changeling starts a hive, weather they're a changeling that broke off from their original hive or a changeling princess that left their hive, they choose weather they want to start off with an Insect or Free Hive. Insect Hives consist of mindless drones and nymphs who obey their queen and only have enough intelligence to keep a good disguise, this kind can be changed to a Free Hive if the queen wishes so. Free Hives consist of drones and nymphs who have at least a descent amount of free will, individuality, and can think mostly freely. Free Hives can vary depending on the amount of each of these, but the highest they can go is when the changelings just have to obey their queen, but are free to object if they wish so. A Free Hive can't be turned into an Insect Hive because of the individuality that the changelings have in a Free Hive."
"Changelings can leave their hive?"
"Yes. In a Free Hive, a changeling can ask to leave the hive and if the queen excepts then the changeling is severed from the hive-mind and free to do what they want, though most changelings that are severed from the hive-mind have some trouble adjusting."
"So changelings have a hive-mind?"
"It's more of a telepathic link that serves for communication purposes, but hive-mind was the closest insect term to such a thing."
"Do changelings turn ponies into changelings?"
"Only if the pony and a small group of changelings are a part of a personal hive-mind, which is something a lot of changelings that leave the hive set up to communicate with their friends, and they wish to start a hive, then the pony can choose to either be severed from the hive-mind or turned into a changeling to be part of the hive. A hive can't have a pony connected to the hive-mind."
"So a changeling can just connect anypony to a personal hive-mind?"
"Of course not. The pony and any changelings that wish to be part of a personal hive-mind have to be willing to be connected before the changeling can do so. Changelings also can connect to other changeling's hive-minds if all members of both hive-minds are willing and have no darker intentions for accepting."
"Okay. What if a hive queen dies and they don't have an heir?"
"Then the changelings choose the ling with the most leadership skills and best intentions for the hive."
"Ling?"
"You ponies have terms like anypony or nopony, we changelings have similar terms like anyling or noling."
"Okay. How does one identify a changeling's hive, or former hive?"
"They have to have knowledge of all changeling hives to do so, I'm required to have that knowledge as a hive princess. A changeling hive is identified by their wing, saddle carapace, carapace, mane, tail, eye, and sometimes fang colors. These can't be changed unless the changeling is altered by the queen after she creates a new hive. Hives also have a hive symbol, mom's hive symbol is a red heart with changeling queen wings behind it and it's what I use as my cutie mark when disguised in my main disguise."
"Alter?"
"As you've no doubt noticed, my mom's colors don't completely match up to the other changelings of the hive like my own do. When a changeling starts a hive, if the new hive's queen is a normal changeling then they take on a queen like form, similar to mine. Either way though, when a changeling starts a hive for the first time, they must change the color scheme of the members of their hive to not match any existing hive. By doing this, the queen makes her hive an official hive and must send infiltrators as messengers to allow other hives to know. Once a changeling queen has created the color scheme of their new hive, they use a small spell to bind the coloration to the DNA of all members of the hive, including themselves. This means that when an heir is born, they have the colorization of the new hive, like I do."
"Okay, may I ask what a saddle carapace is?"
"This." Shadow Mind motioned to the saddle carapace on her back and then the one on Twilight's back and the one on a drones back. "The saddle carapace is a part of the changelings. It's also what is used to turn ponies into changelings."
"Okay, what's with the magic aura your kind has?"
"It's just changeling magic, it's always green and always seems mostly stable."
"Okay, I think that covers everything, so when me and Tranquil leave, can you drop this spell, it still feels strange?"
"Sorry, it's a temporary spell with only enough charge for about three hours, it's been two and a half hours. I can't reverse the spell, that's actually another reason it's forbidden. You can't revers a changeling disguise spell unless you can drain a spell of the magic it's using or block it from pulling in magic since, unlike changelings, ponies don't have the natural ability to reverse it."
"So I'm stuck like this until the spell runs out of charge?"
"Basically."
"I need an explanation."
"For changelings, we just activate the spell and we can hold it indefinitely. Ponies on the other hoof, aren't built to use it. If a pony uses the disguise spell then it is fueled by the pony's emotional magic which would normally be bad. A side effect to using changeling magic is that you instantly start using the passive side of it, which would include instinctive disguising, wall walking, emotion feeding, and even the changeling language, though that's just instinctive information that most changelings know."
"Changelings have their own language?"
"Yea, it consists of buzzing at different pitches and some other things, I never really bothered to figure the rest of it out."
"Could you give an example?"
"Sure thing." Shadow buzzed whatever she said next.
"Huh?"
"Hehe, I said that you should be going."
"Okay." Twilight left after that.

"So did you learn anything interesting?" Tranquil asked on their way back to the kingdom.
"A lot about changelings and a little about their magic." Twilight said, the spell hadn't worn off just yet, but she was managing to keep in the air with her changeling wings.
"Then I take it you learned about the side effects of using changeling magic."
"Yea, though doesn't that mean they apply to you?"
"Technically I'm a changeling, just as I'm technically a unicorn, Pegasus, and alicorn. I don't lose the natural magic of the race I become when it changes, it just goes dormant, but passive effects stay."
"Okay, so now we need to go to the caves under the kingdom and meet some unicorn named Midnight Heart, who practices forbidden magic, though I think I can understand why they'd want peace with my kingdom."
"Our kingdom."
"Huh?"
"I'm part of the Tree of Harmony, the Seed of Harmony is what created the castle that turned Ponyville into The Friendship Rainbow Kingdom, so it's mine and your friends' kingdom as well."
"Oh, that makes sense."

Deep within the caves under the recently established Friendship Rainbow Kingdom sat a red mare. Surrounding the mare was a whirlwind of black mist. The mare was an alicorn, her coat was red, her wings started off as red then faded to black at the tips, her mane and tail were both black with green stripes, her eyes were an unnatural red and currently had black mist slowly flowing out of them, her mane and tail looked a lot like Fluttershy's with a seemingly random pattern of green in them, and her cutie mark was a black heart with two interlocking crescent moons in the center. Silver Night heard a knock at her door and the black magic that had been around her vanished, the mist from her eyes dissipating as well. Silver Night walked over to the door and opened it just a little. "Yes, how may I help you?" Silver Night asked before seeing who the ponies were.
"Hi, I'm looking for Midnight Heart?" Twilight asked.
"I'm Silver Night, Midnight Heart is an alias of mine. Come in Twilight Sparkle and Tranquil Wind." The two followed her into her training room.
"How'd you know it was us?" Tranquil asked as her and Twilight sat down.
"I've been watching you Twilight Sparkle, observing your dreams, observing your power, trying to understand why Celestia fears you."
"She doesn't fear me." Twilight protested.
"But that she does. You're special talent is literally magic, this hasn't happened since Clover the Clever. That's why Celestia fears you, why she limits your magic and your knowledge, why she hides her dark past from you, it's because she knows that you surpass her."
"That isn't true, nopony surpasses Celestia."
"That's where the lies come in. You've learned of what she's done to the razorcorns and batponies, you see her only as the goddess of the sun, but there is more to her. Queen Chrysalis was able to easily over power her with the smallest fraction of the love Shinning Armour had towards Cadence, love that didn't even belong to her no less. Had Luna not been there, King Sombra would have done the same. Alone she couldn't save her own sister from her twin. Clover the Clever and Starswirl the Bearded were even able to over power her when she was at her strongest. Does that sound right for a goddess, no but it does sound right for a pony."
"How do you know so much about me?"
"Simple Twilight, I've been watching you since the day your cutie mark appeared, I know every secret you ever kept pass that day, every entry to your diary, every friendship lesson you learned, I know all your mistakes Twilight, and all your strengths."
"Why?" Twilight was shocked.
"Because I knew that only you could do what no other can, you can kill gods, you can bring absolute peace with a single thought, you can build mountains with a glance, and you can handle almost all magic."
"I-I can't d-do that."
"But you can. You can because you are a true goddess. One that is older than Celestia herself."
"I'm not older than her." Twilight's mane was partly on fire from the anger she felt.
"Really Clover? Tell me, what was Tia's favorite drink?"
It wasn't the suddenness of the question, nor the name that shocked Twilight, but her answer. "milk with a dash of honey, two spoons of sugar, and half a cup of tea mixed together." Twilight just stood there, frozen, at what she had said.
"What about Chryalis' most hated nickname?"
"Chitin Girl." Twilight put a hoof over her mouth.
"Am I missing something, also how has she not noticed you wings?" Tranquil asked, she was ignored.
"What was you husband's full name, and the names of your children?" it was clear that Silver Night was loving this.
"Starswirl Lulamoon was my husband, my children were Celestia, Sombra, Luna, Nightmare, Cadence, and Chrysalis." Twilight was shaking with fear and shock.
"And what was your full name, Clover the Clever?"
"Clover Leaf." Twilight just stood there after that, expecting another question.
"See what I'm saying?"
"W-what j-just h-happened t-to me?"
"You're stronger than any other pony Twilight. Not even Starswirl could properly perform his time spell, you're woven into the very fabric of magic itself, just as any of the ponies that become the element of magic are, you're bound to each one in a way simply impossible to understand."
"I'm lost." Tranquil said.
"Haven't you noticed a certain familiarity to Twilight?"
"well yea, but she's the element of magic and I've noticed it with the other elements as well."
"Did you feel it in the first element of magic?"
"I don't remember."
"Then I have nothing to explain to you."
"Hey!" Twilight yelled in annoyance.
"Ah yes, how could I forget about you once more Silver Sheen?"
"How do I know that name?" Twilight asked, having had enough of Silver Night's games.
"Because you are no longer Twilight Sparkle, officially you lost that name the second you became the element of magic. You are Magic, you remember your other 'hosts' and you remember every detail about them."
"This makes no sense, of course I'm Twilight Sparkle."
"I will aid you in this later on."

After Twilight calmed down she asked "Can we get to the peace negotiations?"
"Peace Negotiations? I never said anything about peace negotiations." Silver Night said.
"That's the only reason I'm even here!"
"As expected, Celestia actually believed me. I only used the talk of peace to trick her into sending you. The real reason I wanted you to come is to make you an offer."
"What kind of offer?"
"To study under me in the forbidden arts in exchange you help me learn about-" Silver Night blushed in embarrassment at what she said next "friendship."
"Why would I study forbidden magic, the side-effects and punishments are severe?"
"Only to some, but think about it. Black magic corrupts after only a few uses, the personality is greatly altered as well after the first use. Yet your's wasn't. Twilight you have the power to perform all magic except Chaos magic, You even surpass me."
"It's still wrong, forbidden magic is forbidden for a reason."
"And do you know the reason?"
"Because it corrupts."
"Solar and Lunar magic are forbidden and they're the very magics that Celestia and Luna use, can you tell me why they'd be forbidden?"
"Because Celestia and Luna are the only ones strong enough to wield them."
"How does one know such... when they've been forbidden since Celestia and Luna came to power? Think back to their parent's time, back then it was the unicorns that raised and lowered the sun and moon, you need solar and lunar magic to do such a thing."
"I'm not helping you."
"All I ask is for you to help me learn about friendship and in return I'll show you how much power you truly have, and I'll teach both you and Tranquil about the elements, forbidden magic, and secrets neither of you knew as a token of thanks."
"Why do you want to learn about friendship anyways... you seem to prefer tormenting others instead?"
"That's why. You see, I was born an alicorn and I was born with dark magic as my natural magic. I was born back before the union of the three tribes in the Pegasus tribe. I was teased, bullied, and sometimes nearly killed by all the residents, all except one. Private Pansy was the only one that showed me kindness, she encouraged me to try to learn my magic and aided me when I needed it. At one point I left the Pegasus tribe and went to the unicorn tribe, there I learned how to access my magic, but that lead to more problems. When the unicorns saw that my magic seemed less stable then theirs and realized I had dark magic (a rare occurrence in unicorns) they shunned me away. I ended up finding a changeling hive that was interested in me, they taught me their magics (since at the time nopony knew they even existed) as well as their language. That was when I began searching the world, trying to learn any magic I could. I eventually learned unicorn magic and I managed to get the unicorns to teach me solar and lunar magic, then I met a pony who had dabbled in black magic and I learned from him, that was the day I got my cutie mark. It stands for forbidden. So basically, I never could have made many friends"
"I'm still not accepting your terms, but I'll be willing to teach you about friendship."
"Thanks, but I can't accept an offer like that without giving something in return, and all I really have is my knowledge."
"Then you can teach me about some things, but not forbidden magic unless I give you permission."
"Again thanks." Silver Night bowed after that and Twilight lead her to the castle, Tranquil following behind.

When they got back to the castle, all of Twilight's friends, Celestia, Luna, Nightmare, Shinning Armour, and Cadence were waiting for her.
"who's the new girls darling?" Rarity asked.
"I'm Tranquil Wind, I exist to guard you and the other Elements of Harmony. If you ever need me then just call out to the Tree of Harmony." Tranquil said.
"And you?" Celestia asked as both Pinkie and Cadence pulled out trays of drinks and handed them out.
"I'm Midnight Heart, you know I was partial friends with Clover Leaf." Silver Night said.
"You!" Celestia had pure anger in her voice as her horn lit up as she fired.
Silver Night didn't even flinch as the beam came to her, only to be repelled by an unstable looking red shield, that she had formed. "Is that how you treat you'r fellow princesses and Twilight's student?"
"What?"
"Twilight's agreed to help me learn about friendship, seeing as I'm sure you know an alicorn born into the Pegasus tribe back during clover's time wouldn't be able to make friends."
"You may be an alicorn, but you're not a princess."
"I'm the princess of the forbidden, I know all that shouldn't be known." While the two bickered, the mane six talked calmly with everypony else.
"Um, if you don't mind me asking. What's your age?" Fluttershy asked timidly, looking at Tranquil.
"Lost count. I was created when the Tree of Harmony was created and that was three thousand years after the world began." Tranquil said as a magic battle ensued between Celestia and Silver Night.
"So... how exactly do I contact you?" Rarity asked.
"Just reach out for your element and from there reach out to the Tree of Harmony and you'll know what to do from there."
"Can we call you anytime?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Usually yes, but I will prioritize the stronger element's request first."
"Huh?"
"The order of the elements on my cutie mark isn't just random, it represents the amount of harmonic influence each element has going clockwise. So if Twilight and you called then I'd prioritize Twilight's request first, unless your life literally depends on me getting there as soon as possible. I'm skilled with different healing magics so most wounds, I can heal or help."
"Gee do you have any weaknesses?" Twilight asked.
"I'm bound to each of you, if one of you fully betrays your element then I return to the Tree of Harmony until you either reconnect with your element or new elements are found. My strength is drawn directly from your friendship and your elements meaning that should you separate permanently then I'm sent back since friendship is what powers the elements, should your friendship weaken then I'm weakened. I can die if the element of magic can die, which means that I currently can't unless I'm decapitated. Though if I'm killed I'll return after all of you work together to call me back. Should one of the elements die then I return to the Tree of Harmony."
"Only decapitation?"
In response to that, Tranquil pulled out a gold and silver colored sword and calmly drove it through Twilight's chest, she didn't even flinch. Tranquil pulled the sword out of twilight's chest and the wound almost instantly healed.
"You stabbed her!" Apple Jack yelled.
"She's an alicorn. The only way to kill an alicorn is to either decapitate them or make them willingly kill themselves, any other harm is easily fixed unless it was caused by chaos magic, in which the wound will hurt and heal like a normal pony's, even if it's meant to be fatal."
"Thanks for reminding me of the fact that I'm immortal now." Twilight groaned
Silver skidded across the floor after a moment. "For the record Tranq, as I stated before, Twilight can easily kill a god, including an alicorn." she said before flying up and lunging at Celestia.
"Shouldn't we stop them before they hurt each other?" Twilight asked, small flames licking at her mane again.
"They are both alicorns, and didn't I literally just list off the only known ways to kill an alicorn?" Tranquil asked.
"That's why I'm worried, you saw what Midnight knew back at her cave, she said it herself that she knows all that's forbidden."
"Good point."
"Wait, if you literally radiate with harmony then why are they fighting?"
"Simple, I can't bring harmony when there is none. Midnight and Celestia clearly have a very deep and very strong hatred of each other, nothing short of the elements would be able to make them stop."
"That's all I need to know." Twilight said as her mane and tail became pure fire (though it stayed in the same shape it originally had, minus some small flames.), her coat turned white, her wings became fire (in a similar fashion to her mane and tail), her eyes became pure red (minus the whites.), and her cutie mark changed to a red and black version of itself. She walked into the small battle field and used a freeze spell. Both Silver and Celestia were frozen in place. "LET'S MAKE THIS CLEAR, NEITHER OF YOU ARE TO ENGAGE IN ANY FORM OF COMBAT WITH EACH OTHER AT ALL UNLESS YOU ARE DOING IT FOR SELF DEFENSE OR A FRIENDLY DUEL (AS IN JUST FOR MAGIC PRACTICE, NO ACTUAL ATTEMPTS AT EACH OTHER'S LIFE). Twilight said, using the Royal Canterlot Voice.
"Yes Twilight." Silver said in the kind of voice twilight would use when getting in trouble.
"Fine, but if I see the slightest amount of hostility then I'm attacking." Celestia said.
"That reminds me Celestia Eclipse, We've gotta have a long talk with you about your tyrannical actions towards both the Blood and the Bat empires, as well as any other little hissy fits you've thrown, now GET TO MY ROOM AT ONCE." Twilight said.
"h-how d-did y-you k-know m-my f-full n-name?" Celestia was shocked because she fully recognized the tone in Twilight's voice, it was the tone her mother, Clover, used when mad.
"She knows it because she's linked to Clover, who as we know, gave it to you. The Elements of Harmony may be a tool for Harmony, but some times sacrifices must be made. When the element's are chosen, they essentially use the ponies as hosts. Until another set is chosen, the current elements aren't truly themselves, but their elements. Because of this, the elements carry over all the memories of their previous hosts (though in some cases it stops when a new host had been chosen while an old host was still alive, meaning that Twilight's memories from when Clover was the element of magic stop at the point where you were chosen as the new host. Anything that happened before that is able to be accessed by Twilight), but they suppress it, allowing the element to access memories instinctively when the time is right. The times in which an element accesses former host memories can include being asked a question pertaining to a previous host, being in a circumstance where the knowledge an ex-host had is needed, and when the current host is angry. These are just the three main triggers. Also, a current host will usually 'latch' onto a specific former host, in Twilight's case this would be Clover Leaf." Silver said calmly.
"Now go." Twilight said, Celestia recoiled a bit them left to go to Twilight's room, with Twilight following her.
"So it's the same for all of us?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Yep, you can even access Luna's memories, though I would suggest not. It'll take a lot of practice to be able to fully access former host memories at will, I can help if Twilight lets me." Silver said.

2nd
The doors to the throne room of the royal castle of the two pony sisters opened as two guards escorting Solar Sun entered.
"Ah you've found the thief." Nightmare Moon said as the guards removed their helmets, revealing them to be none other than Blazing Moon and Night Blood.
"Yes we have mom." Blazing said to her adopted mother.
"I'll call the other elements and their friend then."
After a minute or so, the remaining Elements of Chaos came in.
"So then." Midnight Defiance said before teleporting right in front of Solar Sun. "Why'd you take that sword?"
"That's why I'm here." Solar sun said. Why am I so calm right now? "I took it because I was hired to do so, I didn't ask questions nor see my employer, since the colt was encased in shadows. How do you do that anyway?"
"Back on track." Night hissed.
"Right, well I listened to what he said once I left and I came here to warn you that he intends to use it to, and I quote, 'Destroy this dimension and the next.'"
"I can't believe you didn't try to get information, you always look into your clients before accepting an employment." Shadow Death said as she grabbed her scythe and placed the blade just under Solar Sun's chin.
"So what's your name anyways?" Defiant Shadow asked.
"Solar sun, my parents were Celestia worshipers, which made me want to get away from them." Solar had fear in her voice.
"Nice to meat you Solar Sun. I'm Princess Midnight Defiance, Element of Magic, and Princess of Magic. This is Shadow Death, Element of Laughter/Fear. Night Blood, Element of Loyalty/Betrayal. Blazing Moon, Element of Kindness/Cruelty, and Princess Nightmare Moon's adopted daughter. Defiant Shadow, Element of Honesty/Deceit. Blade Hex, Element of Generosity/Malevolence. and Shifting Wave, Guardian of the Spirits of the Elements of Chaos." Midnight said, motioning to everypony in question when saying their name.
"Why are you being kind towards her?" Nightmare asked.
"Because, out of all of us, she's the only pony who knows what that sword looks like, and we need to get it back." Midnight said.
"Where would you start?"
"If Solar's employer has any common sense and at least some knowledge of the other dimension they want to destroy and common dimensional theory, then they'd start in the other dimension and, if they'r a vampony, then they'll likely turn somepony there, assuming that dimension doesn't have a vampony virus."
"They are." Solar Sun confirmed.
"You've got a good idea, but how exactly are you going to get to another dimension, much less the correct one?" Nightmare asked
"Simple, we use some lunar magic to enter their dreams and get the information from them, then we get the dimensional and temporal coordinates and I use those to create a small rift for the eight of us to go through." Midnight said
"So you intend to take her with you, but we don't know anything about this dimension, meaning we don't know if it has a day."
"Exactly why we're going in prepared." Midnight's horn lit up in its orange glow, though now it had a blood red outline indicating the use of vampony magic. Midnight and Shifting's crowns formed on their head, both crowns were black with the purple Element of Magic embedded in the them in the way they always did, the only difference between their crowns was that Midnight's had 'Chaos' along the band while Shifting's had 'Harmony' written across the band. Night and Blazing's elements fused with their Armour, embedding the elemental design into the chest part and turning the rest of the Armour black like the bands that had originally held their elements on. Defiant and Shadow's elements formed around their necks, but now both were more like chest pieces. Finally, Blade's element formed around her neck, though it now also had a black cloak attached.
"What of Solar?"
"She'll just wear this." Midnight's horn and element lit up as she levitated a red and black amulet out of her room. "It's been enchanted to create a self sustained shadow cloak, which will be able to protect her should this dimension have a sun, it also will enhance her natural Pegasus and vampony magic, since I've found that vampony magic can manifest in all the pony races if they're turned." Midnight placed the amulet on Solar , then used a little magic to make it a part of a set of armor. "Don't want you standing out from this group." she said playfully.
"Well since you've thought of everything else, I'll assume you've got an idea for a blood source."
"That I do, I've stashed a years worth of blood bags in a pocket dimension and five more years worth in a separate pocket dimension should we need more."
"And you're sure that's a good idea?" Nightmare was mostly secretly testing Midnight.
"Of course. according to Starlit Night's dimensional theory, which is the basis for this part of the plan, a pocket dimension can be opened in any dimension so long as the one opening it is the one that created it, even if they have a counterpart. Should anypony meet their dimensional counterpart, they're free to have some physical contact, but aren't allowed to get more intimate as this would be the crossing of two dimensional blood lines which would cause a dimensional paradox, the same would happen if they brought a virus or bacteria from their dimension to the other dimension. Unless handled carefully by all parties involved, dimensional travel could end both the home and target dimensions as the paradox collides and destroys both." Midnight said with a smile. "Starlit's theories have never been wrong as of yet, let's hope her reputation doesn't die because of this dimension."
"Very good Midnight. Take your group and proceed with your plan, keep your elements and solar's amulet on at all time while there." with that, Nightmare left and the group began their work.
As they spun to leave, Solar threw off her cloak, since she hadn't taken it off, and this revealed the black bubbles that were her cutie mark. Because going to another dimension while having to trust ponies that likely hate you and praying not to be slaughtered while in the other dimension is such a great idea. Solar what have you gotten yourself into this time? Solar thought.

Author's Notes:

(1st) Interesting that Twilight lit on fire like that (even if it's happened before). This will, hopefully, play a role in the story later.
(2nd) okay I need to try to explain the new designs of the elements and a few other things listed bellow.
1) yes Solar Sun is the 2nd dimension's Derpy Hooves
2) something I completely forgot to mention when the Chaotic Six (the Elements of Chaos) first got their necklaces/crown, instead of gold the elements are black (in that the necklaces or crown that hold them is black.)
3) Starlit Night is the 2nd dimension's version of Starswirl (What? Did you expect every character to keep their original gender?)
4) The color of the texts that read chaos or harmony is the color that they actually are on the crowns, which are basically Twilight's crown after becoming an alicorn and before losing the elements, since that never happened in the 2nd dimension.
5) the armor Night and Blazing are wearing after their elements are embedded in them is black lunar guard armor with the element's gem replacing the eye and so there's a slot in the armor that holds the element and is black. (hope that wasn't confusing)
6) The chest plates Defiant and Shadow are wearing after their elements are given back to them is the same chest plate Nightmare Moon wears except with the element's gem replacing the moon on it and being black in color.
7) Blade Hex's cloak is attached by her element's gem in the front, over the chest. (the element gem acts as a lock to hold the metal clasp, which holds the two sides of the cloak together, closed)
8) The amulet given to Solar Sun is the alicorn amulet modified by Midnight to act as a magic amplifier and spell replicator. It's main color is red while the gems (the red parts of the normal one) are black. The amulet is also embedded on the Lunar Guard armor in a similar fashion to Night and blazing's armor.
9) At the moment, since she's not in battle, Nightmare is wearing regal cloths similar to blue versions of Luna's.

Dream Realm
A Pegasus Vampony Stallion with black coat, short really dark purple mane and tail, a cutie mark of a silver sun wrapped in demonic red vines, black mist coming out of his eyes, and the typical features of a Pegasus vampony smiled demonically as he looked at the sword he had tricked another Pegasus vampony into getting him. The sword had a dark red hilt in the shape of skeletal wings, a midnight black blade with evil silver lines along it, and a faint dark purple glow emanating from all of it. "I'm surprised that Pegasus was able to get this, I'll need to give her some extra bits when I'm getting ready to destroy these worlds." The Stallion, named Death Vine, said before laughing demonically. "Now that I have the Blade of Severed Destruction, I can end both of these worlds, and get revenge on those pathetic harmonic siblings." Death Vine said with a hiss as he raised the sword, which glowed with black magic, and struck down, cutting a literal hole in the dimensional plain.
So easy to fool. Midnight thought as she used some magic to get the dimensional and temporal coordinates. Dimension three-nine-seven-two, the dimension of the harmonic siblings. Time 4:00pm about three years after Nightmare Moon's return from a one thousand year imprisonment on the moon. Date Friday the thirteenth October. a calm voice rang threw Midnight's head. "Good." she whispered as she fazed out of the dream.

Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters
"Remind me again why you still call this the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters?" Midnight asked Nightmare Moon as she waited for her friends to return from sharpening and cleaning their weapons, and getting Solar Sun a decent weapon.
"I always hoped I could convince Celestia of the beauty of my night, well I have seen that I can't." Nightmare Moon said.
"Okay."
"I'll get some of the Shadow-bolts ready to aid y-" Midnight cut Nightmare off.
"I'm sorry princess, but I must insist that only me, the other Elements of Chaos, Solar Sun, and Shifting Wave go. Bringing any others creates too large a risk and we're the only ones I feel are truly capable of taking on so much at a time."
"If that is what you wish, then it shall be. This is your mission, and the first time I've put you in charge of such an act. Don't treat it as one, but consider this like a test of your leadership skills."
"Very well Princess Nightmare Moon."
"You're soldiers are coming, good luck Princess Midnight Defiance."
With that, Midnight's allies for the mission entered and Nightmare left as a mist. "OKAY EVERYPONY, GATHER AROUND ME, THIS'LL BE A BUMPY RIDE AND WE HAVEN'T THE SLIGHTEST CLUE AS TO WHAT WE COULD FACE ON THE OTHER SIDE. KEEP YOUR GUARD UP AND STAY CLOSE." Midnight had quite a commanding voice.
As everypony gathered around her, Midnight heard the distinct laugh of the stallion that she had dream stalked to get the information, followed by the sound of tearing fabric. Midnight knew that the stallion had just cut open the dimensional plain and began her spell, drawing on the elements and their guardian to have enough power. A large spell ring lit up bellow them, the spell ring had a design of a six pointed star on it with an eight pointed star in the center. at each tip of the six pointed star was the symbol of the current element's of harmony (the symbol that was both Tranquil Wind's and Shifting Wave's cutie mark.) at the tips of the eight pointed star were each pony present's cutie mark, starting at the tip and going clockwise, the pattern was a replica of the pattern for the six pointed star with Solar Sun's and then Shifting Wave's cutie marks after the chaotic six's cutie marks. A similar spell ring appeared above the group, the only difference was that the cutie marks on the eight pointed star were those of the main six, Derpy Hooves, and Tranquil Wind from the Dimension of the Harmonic Siblings. with a sound that was equivalent to a Sonic Rainboom going off next to one's head and then amplified threefold, the rift opened and the group vanished from sight as a bright orange shield with red outlines lit up around the formation, creating a protection from intruders.

1st
"To use Black Magic you must channel your hatred as well as at least two extremely loving memories." Silver Night instructed Twilight. they were in the throne room with the doors closed and magically sealed.
"Remind me again just how you got me to let you do this?" Twilight said as she closed her eyes for a moment and a black mist engulfed her horn, then started leaking from her eyes.
"You know that your Harmony forms are only a last resort and you needed other ways to protect Equestria, seeing as you seem to have a new enemy every other week."
Twilight ignored Silver as she focused on a few targets in front of her. several spears made of pure shadow formed around her then shot out, striking every target and even hitting Silver between the eyes.
Silver pulled the shadow spear out of her head and let it dissipate.
"Sorry, I couldn't keep hold of all of them, I just meant to hit the targets." Twilight was scared.
"No actually you hit everything you intended to. The shadow spears are directed by your thoughts and your anger, you may have thought only of the targets, but your anger was directed at me. When using Black Magic, you must remember to direct your anger at your target as well as your thoughts. Try a shadow sword."
Twilight nodded and a wicked looking sword formed by her side. With a small spell, Silver set up several dummies and went up in green flames and a small red teleportation. Twilight attacked the dummies quickly, cutting them apart with her shadow sword. As she came to the last pony shaped dummy, it suddenly attacked her. Twilight screamed and lost focus, causing a small black magic explosion.
In a burst of green flames, Silver replaced the dummy that had attacked. "Never assume your enemy is unguarded. Even if they seem to have absolutely nothing, treat them as you would treat an armed enemy because you never know when they are truly unarmed and when they are hiding a weapon."
"I didn't know you were there."
"Always expect every possibility, from cloaked enemies to seemingly unarmed killers."
"Got it, why did I need the loving memories?"
"As you may have noticed with Sombra, his black magic mingled with nightmare and changeling magic. This weakens the magic. Black Magic draws on the hatred one feels, but without a balance, it's unpredictable and weak. The loving memories act as the balance to the hate, this makes the black magic spells far stronger."
"Oh."
"Now try to use Black Magic to hide in and control the shadows, and to become them."
Twilight's horn and eyes lit up with the mist that was black magic and she seemed to fade away. Across the room, several shadows began moving as if in a current and Twilight fazed out of the shadows that were on the wall before dismissing the shadows she had called. Finely Twilight's entire body became a moving wall of shadows with two glowing magenta eyes. The wall shot forward and engulfed Silver before reforming into Twilight, standing in front of Silver.
"Very good, maybe I should teach that to Rainbow Dash."
"But, she's a Pegasus."
"Black magic is fueled by hatred and love, weather or not the pony using it has a horn doesn't matter, that's why Black Magic is so commonly practiced. Earth ponies, Pegasi, Unicorns, Razorcorns, Batponies, Alicorns, and Changelings can all use it. Basically it's available to any and all pony races."
"Oh."
"Now then, shall we start on the other combat spells involving Black Magic?"
"Sure I guess."

About three hours of practicing Black, Necromancy, Dark, Changeling, Lunar, Solar, Nightmare, and even Harmony magic later. Twilight and Silver Night sat down for a break.
"How am I not tired?" Twilight asked.
"You've been drawing the magic back in when you finished, that's a useful tactic as only a small amount of your magic is lost to the environment immediately after you cast a spell, the rest is only lost when you just allow it to dissipate into the environment. By drawing your magic in, you're able to cast a lot more spells with your magic reserves, it's helpful in situations where you need to be able to perform a lot of magic, such as in battle."
"That makes sense, but why haven't I heard of that tactic before?"
"Reserved for only the Crystal, Lunar, Solar, and now Friendship guards as well as the remaining factions of the guard."
"So it's basically forbidden information to the public?"
"That's what I live for. Yes."
"Okay. So if you have knowledge a common pony shouldn't, then could you please tell me why the guard factions look almost exactly the same as the other members of each faction and why I've never seen any female guards at all?"
"They all have either a spell cast on them, or enchanted armor. The night guard are all pegasi, earth ponies, or unicorns turned into batponies, like your friend Fluttershy was and still is, the spell is rather complex and Luna is the only known pony able to perform it, even I can't. The Solar guard are all normal ponies with training and enchanted armor that gives them a set appearance and color scheme. The crystal ponies are the same. You're guard however hasn't been set with either since you must make the choice yourself. I'd suggest more variety, but that's just me."
"Okay, so why aren't there any mares as guards, and how would one go about joining the night guard?"
"The reason behind the lack of mare guards is simple, no mare has joined the guard (any of them) since Private Pansy's time. As to joining the Night Guard, it varies depending on your race. An Earth pony goes through some basic training as well as some training to become nocturnal, after that they must prove themselves in a rather intense series of challenges that test their combat and strategy skills as well as how nocturnal they are. If they pass then they are turned into batponies and go through more training to get use to having wings and flying. If you're a Pegasus, then you go through similar training as the
Earth ponies and if you pass a similar series of challenges, then you're turned into a bat pony and just need to get some extra flight training to get use to your new wings. If you're a unicorn then you go through the same challenges and training as Earth ponies, but you also go through some special training to get use to doing things without magic, if you pass then you're turned as well and you would lose your horn. After that you'd have to go through some different exams and training to fully get use to having wings and not having your unicorn magic."
"What if you're an alicorn, you know hypothetically speaking?"
"Then I'm not too sure, seeing as it's never happened, but seeing as you're a princess then I'd assume you'd keep your horn, some Lunar guards do get to do so if they prove themselves worthy and you've certainly done that."
"Hey! I never said that I wanted to be a Lunar Guard."
"You didn't have to, I know that you've always liked them and wondered if, assuming they were ever reestablished, you would be able to join them. I know all your entries into your diary remember?"
Twilight blushed. "Even the one about turning myself into an alicorn for a few weeks?" she asked embarrassingly.
"Yep, and I must say that you did an absolutely wonderful job at hiding it, a few times I had to remind myself that you had wings."
"Well you're right, I want to join, but I'm not sure how that would look."
"Twilight, it doesn't matter how it looks to others, so long as you like it. Besides it would look as if Equestria's newest princess was doing even more to protect Equestria."
"Thanks, but there is still the problem about how I'd spend time with my friends."
"You can try to work that out, now... I want to know what was with you going up in flames earlier."
"Well you see I-" Twilight was saved from answering as a spell ring lit up on the ground a few feat away, followed by another above it, and a brilliant orange shield with red energy on the outside.

Eight mares, all with fangs, glowing red eyes, and five with bat-like wings stepped out of the shield. "We haven't a lot of time to explain, both our dimension and yours are in danger and we need your help, and the help of the Element's of Harmony and their guardian, to save them." Midnight said as she looked at the ponies, then recognized them. "Wait, what are your names and designations?"
"Princess Twilight Sparkle, Element of Magic, and Princess of Friendship." Twilight said.
"Tranquil Wind, Guardian of the Spirits of the Elements of Harmony, and all of you?" Tranquil asked, having teleported in for some reason. Silver didn't speak
"Well we got two of them." Night Blood said.
"I'm Princess Midnight Defiance, Princess of Magic and Element of Magic from my Dimension, as well as former student to Princess Nightmare Moon. These are Shadow Death, Element of Laughter/Fear. Night Blood, Element of Loyalty/Betrayal. Blazing Moon, Element of Kindness/Cruelty, and Princess Nightmare Moon's adopted daughter. Defiant Shadow, Element of Honesty/Deceit. Blade Hex, Element of Generosity/Malevolence. Shifting Wave, Guardian of the Spirits of the Elements of Chaos. and Solar sun, she doesn't really have any designations." Midnight said
"Wait Princess Nightmare Moon?" Twilight asked
"In my dimension, she defeated Celestia the first time and enchanted the land to live off the light of the moon as well as corrupting the Elements of Harmony. About three years ago Celestia returned and nearly killed everypony in Vamponyville, we killed her with the elements, and yes we're all vamponies."
"Oh um okay, so if Starswirl the Bearded's Dimensional theory is correct then that would mean that you're dimension has a designation. Also how'd you get here?"
"I'm unfamiliar with a Starswirl the Bearded, though I believe they're this dimension's counterpart of Starlit Night. Yes My dimension has a designation like your's does. My dimension is the Night Eternal Dimension, your's is the Dimension of the Harmonic Siblings, now that all that is done, we have a lot to do. We need to go get the other elements, then you need to fill us in on your dimension, and after that we need to fill you in on what's happening."
"You didn't answer my question also how are you going to walk around, if what you say is being interpreted by me right then nopony from your dimension can be in the sun and it's midday here."
"Right well I just drew on the power of the elements and my own natural magic to create a dimensional rift, which is the magic rings and shield behind me, the shield is to keep intruders out. As to how we'll survive, All of us are protected by the elements, except Solar sun, she's protected by a modified Alicorn Amulet. Now, WE HAVEN'T ANYMORE TIME FOR CHATTING SO LET'S GO." With that the group headed to gather the other elements.

"Wow! Your wings are COOL!" Rainbow Dash said as she circled her dimensional counterpart, Night Blood.
"Yes I know, you day-dwellers always say that, until you find out what I do." Night said in a bored tone, seeing as she had been unintentionally grounded by Rainbow Dash.
"Was that an insult?"
"Yes, and before you even say it, I'm not turning you into a vampony just so you can get bat wings. Princess Nightmare Moon, and even Midnight, have both ordered that none of us feed off a pony from this dimension, much less turn them, as it would only aid in that evil stallion we're after's plan to destroy both by doing just that."
"Quite your bickering Rainbow Dash and Night Blood, we need to get moving." Midnight Defiance hissed, all ready not liking the element of Loyalty being around her dimensional counterpart.
"Fine." the two said in unnatural unison
"So, who's next?" Midnight asked Twilight.
"I'm thinking Apple Jack, she's my element of honesty." Twilight said as they headed for Sweet Apple Acres.
"Hey Defiant Shadow, looks like we're meeting up with your counterpart next!" Midnight yelled behind her, since the Rainbow and Night were still talking.
"So what's Apple Jack like?"
"She wouldn't lie to save her life, aside from that she has the natural ability to tell if somepony's lying. She's also pretty strong from working on a farm."
"That's a lot like Defiant, but she likes to deceive you into doing something that leads to the truth."
"Why would you need a farm, don't you only drink blood?"
"No. While it's true that we need blood, pony blood to be precise, to survive, it's not our only source of food, we're also omnivores."
"Oh, so do you have any idea as to who this stallion is?"
"No, I only know that they're a black magic wielding Pegasus vampony."
"His name's Death Vine." Silver Night said as she came up out of the shadows.
"Huh?" Midnight asked, rather shocked.
"He was banished to the Night Eternal Dimension by Celestia and her siblings after attempting to literally unleash Tartarus upon our Equestria, Celestia figured that letting him do so in another dimension would be better, the problem is that the Night Eternal Dimension is the home dimension of the Blade of Severed Destruction, a devastating blade that can cut anything, even time."
"Where did you find that out?" Twilight was shocked.
"The Canterlot Archive."
"Where?" Twilight had read all the books in that part of the castle and had never come across that information.
"The secret room that can only be accessed by diving into the hour glass within the Starswirl the Bearded wing without thinking of anything."
"There's a secret room?"
"It's a castle, yes there's a secret room. I would have suspected Celestia to tell her 'Most faithful student' all about that little section of the archives, I guess I was wrong. Also it helps that I was there when he was banished, remember, I'm older than even Nightmare and Luna."
"You're trying to make me betray Celestia." Twilight said angrily.
"You did that after practicing black Magic, per your own request, Celestia did tell you not to practice such arts didn't she?"
"How do you know all this again uh... wait I never got your name." Midnight suddenly asked.
"I'm Silver Night, Celestia knows me as Midnight Heart. I'm the princess of the forbidden, I have access to any and all forbidden parts of, well, anything, even the Tree of Harmony, unfortunately I don't know that much about friendship."
"Is that why you were with Twilight and Tranquil when we got here?"
"Actually I was with Twilight to teach her a few Black Magic spells and Tranquil teleported in right as you all got here."

After about ten more minutes of walking, the group got to Sweet Apple Acres. "Hmm, I didn't think the place would have the same name as my own farm." Defiant said as Apple Jack came out.
"Hey every pony." Apple Jack said.
"Hey Apple Jack, we need you help and it's not just Equestria that's in danger this time." Twilight said.
"Hmm, who're all of you." Apple Jack motioned to the group of vamponies off to the side.
"I'm Defiant Shadow, I work on the Sweet Apple Acres of my dimension, which is one of eternal night, anyway we're here because a vampony from our dimension has used some ancient sword to enter this one and plans to cause a dimensional paradox that will destroy both, we were sent by Princess Nightmare Moon to stop him."
"Then we should hurry and get Fluttershy so she can join us."
The group headed for Fluttershy's cottage after that.
"Oh is Fluttershy my dimensional counterpart? It looks like were heading to where my home is in my dimension." Blazing Moon asked
"Yes, though she's a bit shy so be careful." Twilight warned.
"Oh don't worry about that, before Nightmare Moon adopted me I was too shy to even open my wings around others, now I'm much less shy, though that doesn't mean I'm not shy, I'm just not as shy. What I'm meaning to say is that I'm sure I know how to approach her."
"You're Nightmare Moon's daughter?" Twilight asked in absolute shock.
"Well of course, didn't you catch the 'Moon' at the end of my name, it's not some random word used to finish my name."
It wasn't long before the group got to Fluttershy's home and only ten minutes later her and Blazing walked out calmly.
"Wow Blazing, I know you're the Element of Kindness/Cruelty, but getting a pony that seems extremely shy to just walk outside with you is quite something, how'd you do it?" Midnight asked.
"I just promised to help her with her animals for a weak without the Cruelty part of my element." Blazing said.
"And you actually believe it'll take a week to get rid of Death Vine?"
"No, but you did store a years worth of blood for us and this place has plenty of foods so I figured we could stay for a while afterwards."
"Not going to happen."
"You know Midnight, it would give you a chance to do something not even Princess Nightmare Moon could do, learn about how a different dimension works." Defiant said.
"You make a good point." I hate her sometimes Midnight thought.
"Okay so shall we go to Rarity's, Fluttershy asked we meet up with her next. Though from what she told me, I doubt Blade Hex will get along with her, even though they're dimensional counterparts."

"Are you serious?" Rarity asked in astonishment once she heard that Blade Hex preferred to have her mane a little messy (just like any vampony)
"Well it's easier than worrying about your appearance while hunting your prey." Blade Hex countered.
"Well I would never engage in such a barbarous act."
"You've never found it necessary to hunt and kill a living thing, much less a pony who stole your daggers." To emphasize her point, Blade Hex whipped out both her daggers.
"Blazing please diffuse this battle before it gets to bloodshed." Midnight said. Blazing nodded and stepped up for a moment.
Blazing cleared her throat, which got both Rarity's and Blade's attentions, then opened her eyes, which had been closed. The room cooled dramatically as the two arguing ponies froze, both staring into Blazing Moon's eyes. "Both of you stop bickering about your preferred ways of life. You may be dimensional counterparts, but you're not the same pony, just accept that you're both different." Blazing said in an odd echoing voice that seemed to burn into the soul. After Rarity and Blade nodded, Blazing blink a few times and her eyes, which had seemed to gain an even brighter red glow than usual, returned to their normal intensity.
"W-was that y-your stare?" Fluttershy asked.
"Yes, and trust me, when you insult Blade's choices, it's the only thing that shuts her up, I'm a lot more willing to use it then I suspect you are."
"Sorry about acting that way Blade, I just overreacted." Rarity said.
"Understandable." Blade said.
"I will help all of you, but it may be a bit before I can, Captain Night Wind of the Night guard requested custom armor, so I need to finish that and I'm only half way through."
"You're working on armor, may I help? I'm an armor crafter in my dimension."
"Just armor?" Rarity raised an eyebrow
"Well nopony is crazy enough to request cloths from a vampony, to many chances to lace them with something to track the pony, and no vampony wears cloths, they create drag and slow one down, giving a higher chance of escape to prey."
"Understandable darling, I guess we can work together to finish it."

Four minutes later, much to Rarity's surprise, they were finished and left to go find Pinkie Pie. Almost the second they stepped out, Shadow Death and Pinkie Pie appeared out of nowhere. "Hi guys, I found Pinkie and she was all like *gasp* 'you ;look like me before I got my cutie mark, and I was all like *gasp* you to, and then we started talking and we realized we had talked a lot before and then we came here because we knew you all were waiting for us and waiting isn't fun and-" Twilight and Midnight started talking to tune the rambling mare out.
"So Shadow Death is like Pinkie?" Twilight asked.
"Unfortunately yes, she's also a hitpony loyal to princess Nightmare Moon. I've given up understanding her since I learned about her Shadow Sense, which allows her to sense something occurring in the near future. You wouldn't believe how crazy trying to understand that was." Midnight said.
"I think I can, I tried to do the same thing with Pinkie when I learned of her Pinkie sense." Twilight said.

The group was back at the castle, per Tranquil's instructions.
"What are we doing here again?" Twilight asked as they began walking through the some of the door's that Twilight hadn't had a chance to check out.
"The armory, it's time the Harmony Guard returned." Tranquil said simply.
"Harmony Guard?"
"It was established by the fourth set of element bearers and consists usually of only them and me. The Harmony Guard is more just the elements and me with weapons forged by the power of the elements and armor."
About five minutes later, the group entered the primary library of the castle. Twilight had only seen the secondary library, which was twice the size of the Canterlot library, so she was shocked at the size of the primary library, which was four time the size of the secondary library. Tranquil lead the group over to the section on the Tree of Harmony.
"Yes... I know this place is huge, which is why I didn't know about the elements technically using the bearers as hosts. I may be created from the Tree of Harmony, but I still only know what I've read." Tranquil said.
"How many books are in here?" Twilight and Midnight asked in unison.
Tranquil smiled and spread out her wings, taking flight before speaking. "THIS LIBRARY HOLDS EVERY BOOK THAT HAS EVER BEEN WRITTEN IN THIS DIMENSION AND IS ONLY ACCESSIBLE TO ME AND THE BEARERS UNLESS WE ALLOW ANOTHER IN." Tranquil landed and calmed herself down. "Now then, shall we enter the armory?"
Tranquil turned around and placed a hoof on a hoof-print on the wall, the print lit up with a rainbow energy and began spreading outward, the lines connected to the former symbols of the elements (the symbols from the last time the castle was granted) and changed them to the current symbols before the symbols lit up with their respective colors. The wall slid silently into the ground bellow, reveling a large room with several sets of golden armor that had intricate designs on them, as well as a wall of weapons.
"Alright girls, everypony except our dimensional guests, stay still while I get your armor."
Tranquil's horn lit up and the first set of armor levitated over to her. The armor had the elements of magic embedded in it, it included hoof-armor and even a band for the helmet. Twilight took the armor and carefully put it on. The second Twilight's armor was on, her eyes began faintly glowing with her inner magic and her mane and tail changed their style. The element of Magic also began glowing.

Tranquil levitated a set of armor similar to Twilight's, except the element embedded in it and the 'helmet', over with a pink flower embedded on the chest. She levitated the armor set over to Fluttershy who put it on. Like with Twilight, Fluttershy's eyes gained a faint glow and her mane and tail changed in style, the flower embedded in the chest immediately changed to a butterfly and began glowing

Tranquil finely brought over her own armor, which was gold with a crystal-blue eight-pointed star embedded in the chest with small light blue crystals in the hoof-armor and a head band with a few light blue crystals in it. She put all her armor on, causing her eyes and the star embedded in her armor to light up with inner magic. Her mane and tail also re-styled themselves to match Twilight's.
"Now for weapons." Tranquil said, her voice now having a slight echo quality to it because of the inner magic, as she went over to the weapons wall and used her magic to remove two gold sword with six pointed stars as the hilts. She tossed the blades over to Twilight, who caught them with expertise she didn't know she had and sheathed them on her sides, bellow her wings. Under the area where the swords had been was ancient writing that translated to Swords of Magic. Next Tranquil tossed two odd curved blades to Fluttershy, who easily launched into the air and locked the braces on the blades to the base of her wings. the tip of the blades shot out as two other blades unsheathed from two different points on each blade and made what could easily be described as the skeleton (though made of metal and thinned) of bat wings. Fluttershy had heard of these types of blades and recognized the design as wing-blades (a weapon commonly used by the army). The name under where the wing-blades had been read Blades of Kindness. Tranquil then tossed a scythe of gold with a crystal designed like a vortex embedded in the point right before the actual blade. The name of it was Scythe of Laughter. Next was two daggers of gold with heart shapes as the hilts for Rarity Daggers of Generosity. Apple Jack got an ax of gold as her weapon Ax of Honesty. Finely, Rainbow Dash was given a gold sword with a rainbow-like shape as the hilt Blade of Loyalty. Tranquil formed the blade she had used earlier, it held the symbols of the elements along the hilt and had dark gold lines tracing an ancient language Blade of the Guardian.
"You got any armor or weapons to use?" Tranquil asked, looking over at Silver Night.
"Does this answer your question?" Silver asked as black armor formed on her and then two shadow swords appeared by her side, her eyes held the black mist that indicated the use of Black Magic.
"And obviously you all are ready." Tranquil said as she looked over at their dimensional guests, they all nodded and pulled out their respective weapons. "Then we're set, do you have anypony you'd like to bring to aid us?" Tranquil had shifted her gaze to Twilight's.
"I think I can get Princess Shadow Mind to come, it would be useful and would serve as a test of her loyalty, I'll also bring Princess Blood Flame since she looked like she was ready for battle. I might be able to also get Princess Red Fang to come." Twilight said, her voice also having a slight echo now.
"Then let's go." Tranquil said as she lead the group out of the armory and off to the Everfree Hive.

The group of sixteen ponies approached the borders of the Blood Empire with caution.
"I'll go get Princess Blood Flame." Tranquil said as she teleported off, reappearing with Blood Flame in about four seconds.
"Who are half of you?" Blood Flame asked, Twilight noticed, for the first time, that Blood Flame had slitted eyes.
"Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Apple Jack, and Rainbow Dash. The elements of Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty, and Loyalty respectfully. Silver Night, Princess of the Forbidden and wielder of the forbidden magics. Midnight Defiance, Blazing Moon, Shadow Death, Blade Hex, Defiant Shadow, and Night Blood. Elements of Magic, Kindness/Cruelty, Laughter/Fear, Generosity/Malevolence, Honesty/Deceit, and Loyalty/Betrayal respectively, they're from another dimension. Shifting Wave, My counterpart from their dimension. Solar Sun, sompony they brought along from their dimension. We need your help, and possibly the help of some of your guards, to track down and eliminate a vampony by the name of Death Vine who's originally from this dimension and was banished to their dimension before being turned there and returning here to obliterate both dimensions." Tranquil said.
"Oh... I can't spare my guard, but I'll go, let me just get my armor." with that, Blood Flame teleported off and soon returned wearing a set of blood-red armor, her helmet was like Twilight's, and she was wearing wing armor. "Shall we go get the others?"
"Wait, what about weapons?" Twilight asked.
Blood Flame smiled and breathed out slightly, causing small flames to escape her mouth.
"Dracorns, yes that's the name I've chosen for when I take over, have a natural fire breath for defense or offense, it's also like a different form of our magic as all of us are able to perform fire magic."
An hour later, the group had landed in front of Princess Red Fang's castle and were waiting for her to get there.
"This feels really strange." Twilight complained, she was currently in the form of a bat-pony after learning some changeling magic from Silver Night.
"You'll get use to it Twilight." Silver said, she was also disguised, as was Tranquil.
The door finely opened and Red Fang came out. "Yes Princess Twilight Sparkle?" Red Fang asked.
"I'm not going through introductions of everypony here, but we need either your help or the help of your Bat Guard as there is a threat to the entire dimension and another that we need to take care of." Twilight said.
"I am not going out into a battle where I could get blood all over my armor, you'll have to get some of the guards, the barracks are over there." Red Fang motioned with a wing towards a large building in the distance and left.
"She's more worried about her appearance than she is about her home, that's just dreadful." Rarity said.
The group went over to the barracks to recruit some guards.
"We need to hurry this up." Apple Jack said, faintly listening to the clacking of the metallic claws she was wearing, she had swapped out her ax for them as they were more adept for hoof-to-hoof combat and used her natural strength as an Earth Pony.
The group walked into the barracks and Twilight went up to the captain, dropping her disguise as she did so.
"Captain." Twilight said in a commanding voice, the Captain instantly snapped to attention and saluted.
"Yes princess?" the Captain asked.
"I need some of your best guards, we're going up against a pony intent on ending our dimension and another and we need as many fighters as possible to ensure we can take them down." Twilight stated.
"Yes ma'am your majesty, right away." the Captain said before turning around to his soldiers. "Blade Wing, Night Light, Silver Fire." the Captain said.
"Yes sir Captain Midnight." the ponies in question said.
"You three are to accompany Princess Twilight and her charge to defeat a threat of the highest level, get your armor on and head out." the Captain said.
"Yes sir!" the three ponies quickly headed out and got to work.

About ten minutes later, the two stallions and one mare that had been chosen stepped out in their midnight blue armor. "We're here to assist princess." Blade Wing said as he bowed.
"No need for formality with me or my friends, just introduce me to your soldiers and we'll head off to our next destination." Twilight said.
"The other stallion is Night Light, the mare is Silver Fire."
"Nice to meet you two, now let's go, we need to get to the Everfree Hive ASAP." the group left after that
Twilight and the others soon made it to the Everfree Hive and were met with Shadow Mind in full blue armor (the same color as her saddle carapace) and about thirty changelings in armor.
"Shall we go?" Shadow Mind asked.
"How'ed you know?" Twilight asked.
"You really think I wouldn't have at least some infiltrators in most major empires or cities? one of them informed me." Shadow Mind said.
"Right, I forgot to mention that none of your infiltrators need be in disguise while in my kingdom. Any in my kingdom are under my full protection."
"I will inform them later on, but some may wish to stay in disguise."
"Fine with me, now we need to head to one last destination."
"And where would that be?"
"The Crystal Empire, Discord lives there and so we can have him help us out in finding Death Vine."
"Then let's head their, I'll tell one of my infiltrators there to inform Princess Cadence of your visit."

The Crystal Empire
Razor Wind ran into the throne room as fast as he could.
"What is it Captain?" Cadence asked as Razor Wind stopped.
"I have important news from the Princess." Razor said.
"Which one?" Shinning armor asked.
"Actually it's from Princess Shadow Mind of the Everfree Changeling Hive."
"What's a Changeling informing us about?" Cadene asked.
"The Everfree Hive is Chrysalis' hive so you know, but she is merely informing me that her, Princess Twilight, Princess Silver, Princess Blood, Princess Tranquil, and Princess Midnight (she's from another dimension according to the princess) are on there way to request your assistance with a matter of grave importance." Razor said.
"And why did she contact you?" Shinning asked.
"Because I'm a drone and always have been so it was faster." as Razor finished, Twilight and her small army ran through the door.
"I trust you were able to inform them aunt Cadence." Shadow Mind said.
"Of course Princess, but I think they want to rip my head off."
"It wouldn't surprise me after what mom tried."
"Stand down insects!" Shinning suddenly yelled as he fired off a powerful combat spell, only to have Twilight shield everypony with a black magic shield.
"Prince Shinning Armor, or entire dimension and another are in danger of colliding and being destroyed and you're here trying to fight our allies, what kind of prince are you?" Twilight said, the use of his official title shocked Shinning.
"She is correct, we just need assistance." Shadow Mind said.
"Likely story." Shinning said.
"Uncle Shinny, we should let them talk at least." a forest-green alicorn filly said as she popped out from behind the throne. the filly had a forest-green coat, pink mane and tail that spiraled down and then curved, slitted red eyes with dark red pupils, and she was a blank flank.
"Uncle?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah! Shinny's my uncle because dad died and he was Aunt Cadence's brother." the filly said.
"You adopted Sombra's daughter?" twilight asked, looking to Cadence.
"Tia and luna didn't want her and Chrysy was nowhere to be found so I had no choice." Cadence said.
"So what's her name?"
"Her name is Black Crystal and as you an see, she's met the CMC already." Cadence motion towards the CMC cape that Black Crystal was wearing.
"Okay. Anyway, we need some of your crystal guards, and we need to speak with Discord for a bit."
"Got it... DISCORD YOU ARE BEING CALLED"
Discord appeared after a moment and handed Twilight a map before disappearing again.
"Word gets around fast."
"It's Discord, well anyway, since Razor here is the captain and apparently also a member of Chrysalis' hive, he can gather some soldiers and you all can head out." with the silent command, Razor Wind headed off to gather some guards
"Can I come?" Black Crystal asked.
"They're going on a mission that could easily result in their death, so no."
"But I can handle myself, I've been practicing my Black Magic see." Black Crystal formed a set of shadow swords to emphasize her point.
"No, and what have I told you about forming weapons?"
"But Aunt Twilight will protect me, I know it."
"I said no."
"No offence Cadence, but if she's anything like I was when I was younger, then I know she'll just sneak out if you say no." Twilight said.
"I'm not letting my niece go out and get herself killed."
"Please mommy, I'll listen to aunt Twilight and I promise I'll be good." Black Crystal said.
"I'm going to regret this later on aren't I?"
"Maybe."
"Fine you can go, but be careful." Cadence sighed.
"Thanks mom!" with that, and a sudden rush of shadows, Black Crystal was standing next to Twilight with some crystal armor on.
"You're not going to stop her?" Shinning asked.
"I don't see why I should, she's an adventurous filly and I have faith that she can help."Twilight said.
"That's not like you, what happened to the Twilight I knew?" Shinning asked.
"If you believe Silver Night over there, then she was gone the second she got her cutie mark and became the Element of Magic. Other than that though, I've just had a long day of peace talk, belief shattering, forbidden magic learning, and dimensional threats." Twilight sighed when she finished.
"Wait what was that first part?" it was Silver that answered the question
"When the Elements of Harmony are chosen, the ponies that are chosen effectively become hosts to the elements, able to access former host memories and access older powers." Silver said.
Before Shinning could retort, Razor returned with at least twenty crystal guards.
"Well we need to head off so see you later." Twilight said as the group left with a collective teleport.
The final battle awaited.

Chaotic Harmony

The ancient kingdom was dark and foreboding with its ancient Gothic spires, dark and evil aura, black clouds above, and its armies of vamponies under the influence of black magic. It was the perfect place for Death Vine to watch as the worlds collided, which had all ready begun, if the constant shifting between one dimension's setting and the next was anything to go by. In the distance, the sound of an army could be heard approaching, The flapping of pegasi, alicorn, changeling, bat, and skeletal wings sounded in tune with the hoof marches of thousands of soldiers from most races of pony, the Nightmares being the only race not present. Twilight's army was large, consisting of changelings, batponies, dracorns (as Blood Flame had decided to call them), a few pegasi, several crystal ponies, and above all, the skeletons of two thousand dead soldiers of all races, brought back by Twilight and Silver's combined Necromancy. Fluttershy, in the golden armor of the Harmony guard, had a determined look as they approach, no shyness noticeable. When Fluttershy spoke, her echoing voice seemed to speak of kindness.
"I can see the spires, let's finish this battle once and for all." she said with an unnatural determination. Few knew it, but while Fluttershy was timid during every day life and during most conflicts, when it came down to the lives of her friends, she was a powerful warrior with unwavering determination.
"Let's." Twilight answered her own echoing voice seeming to hold the vary essence of magic within it.

The army soon reached the borders of the empire and sped onto the land. a magical pulse could be felt through the ground as magic sensing spells were triggered and the vamponies turned to fight.
"The only ways to restore balance is to either kill the vamponies here, or take them to the Night Eternal Dimension." Silver, still in her shadowy armor, stated and they began the battle.
Tranquil met one of the vamponies half-way to the ground and sliced them in half with her Sword. Silver began to slash at the vamponies that got near her, often walking away with the vampony she just fought cut to pieces. Tranquil felt a faint rush of wind and quickly dodged to the right just as a vampony landed in the spot she had been at. With graceful speed, Tranquil sliced the vampony's throat with her sword and turned to face the next attacker, who soon fell to her blade as well. Silver was finishing off her third vampony when she caught a very familiar magical aura in the corner of her eye, a unicorn vampony was charging up a dark magic blast, swiftly silver reach the unicorn and decapitated her.
"Get off me!" silver heard Tranquil hiss as she turned to find that the Princess of Harmony was on the ground with a vampony trying to bite her. Silver quickly killed the vampony and offered a hoof to help Tranquil up, tranquil accepted.
"Let's team up on these bastards." Silver said.
"Let's." with that, Tranquil and silver stood back to back with their blades hovering in their respective magics.

Fluttershy slashed skillfully through the vampony that had been attacking her. As another vampony came her way, Fluttershy slashed them apart with her wing blades, her eyes suddenly glowing red. Several more vamponies came her way and with each kill, Fluttershy seemed to change a little more, her eyes slitted, her mane became a bit of a mess, her fangs (which she hadn't lost after the vampire fruit bat incident), her wings became bat-like, her ears became bat-like, her mane and tail paled, and her coat paled. her armor and weapons both shifted to fit her. Hissing after the full shift, Fluttershy shot forward with new speed and aggressiveness, slicing apart any vampony in her way.By the time Fluttershy got next to Rainbow Dash, she was almost covered in blood, making her coat almost look red. Fluttershy stood behind Rainbow Dash and she skillfully cut apart any vampony in her way, further staining her coat with blood. It was almost three minutes before Rainbow finely notice Fluttershy.
"Woah Flutters, you look like you just cut through an army, and like you did when Twi's spell back fired." Rainbow Dash said with a little excitement.
"I did cut through a large part of the army, and I've always had this form, I just only recently learned to control it." Fluttershy responded as she sliced open the chest of an incoming vampony.
"Hey what happened to you, you're not normally this... aggressive?" Rainbow asked.
"Like mom use to say. 'sometimes, to be kind, you just have to be cruel.'" was Fluttershy's only response before she went silent and began hacking away at the vamponies around her.

Twilight was swift in slashing apart the vamponies around her, both her sword glowing with her magic as she spun in circles and did different maneuvers to kill off her enemies. Twilight had always been skilled with a blade in her hoof, mouth, or magic and she was never the type to let the number of enemies scare her. Twilight lifted three vamponies up to her as she hovered in the air. Two soon fell to her swords, and the third was destroyed by her magic. That's right, destroy them all. a familiar voice in Twilight's head hissed, when it spoke, it sounded as if it was a fire speaking, crackling could be her in each word. Only my enemies. Twilight hissed back at the voice as she landed next to Rarity, who was, shockingly, covered in blood and had an evil smile. As Rarity's daggers flew around her and sliced apart the vamponies attacking her, several diamonds that had been pulled from the ground shot out around her and embedded themselves in the chests of the vamponies. Rarity only nodded to Twilight when she saw her and proceeded to cut more vamponies in half, with Twilight joining.

Apple Jack was quickly proving to herself that going with the Claws of Honesty instead of the Ax of Honesty was the best choice as her and Pinkie sliced apart any that dared oppose them. Pinkie's, now flat, mane flowed almost unnaturally with every swing of her scythe. Apple Jack was starting to get use to the feel of her claws and was making the seemingly easy act of getting a hit on her near impossible. As Apple Jack brought her claws down on yet another vampony, she caught a flash of gold to her left and a moment later Pinkie was standing next to her, the body of a dead vampony at her hooves. The two Earth Ponies nodded at each other before returning to battle.

On a hill over-looking the battle, a small filly in shadow armor looked down at the battle. Twilight and Rarity were in one group. Apple Jack and Pinkie in another. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy (in her batpony form) in another. Tranquil and Silver in another. Blood Flame, Shadow Mind, and Solar Sun in another. The Elements of Chaos were in the same groups as their counterparts. The filly, however, was alone. Black Crystal had shot through the vampony army the second she got of Twilight's back and was now standing on a hill far away from where they had landed, the castle the Death Vine was in was right behind her and now she turned towards it, heading into the ancient place. As Black Crystal walked through the halls, she was nearly impossible to find because of her size (the same thing that had allowed her to so easily by-pass the vamponies.
"Hey!" a vampony yelled after spying the filly.
Black Crystal looked at the vampony without a care and, with the speed most fillies are known for, she ran forward. Right as she neared the guard, she kicked off the ground and slashed through the vampony, landing a few feet away. Black crystal looked at the blood oozing from the gash across the vampony's chest and side, sighing a bit. I was hoping to be farther in before I had to kill sompony. she thought. The only thing that kept her from caring much was her inner black magic. "Never underestimate your enemies, aunt Cadence told me that." she said as she continued to her destination.
about ten minutes later, Black Crystal entered the room that was her destination. The room was pitch black. It suddenly flared up with light, revealing vamponies surrounding her , Black Crystal was just finishing getting her slitted eyes to adjust to the light, when the vamponies lunged.

"EVERYPONY, REGROUP... NOW!!!" Twilight yelled, the ponies immediately shot to her side, with the bloodied and wounded Fluttershy being first to land.
"You look like you just took a bath in blood." Twilight observed.
"Mom always said the the blood of your enemies is quite a good way to get a shine on you coat." Fluttershy said as the rest landed, holding the vamponies off.
"We can't hold them off for much longer, we need a miracle." Twilight sighed.
"I think we can take them." Tranquil said.
Before anypony could reply, a great explosion of black magic rocked the entire empire and the vamponies let out pained cries before falling down, all dead.
"what happened?" Silver said.
"I don't know, let's just finish this." Twilight said.
The group headed for the castle.

Soon the ponies and their armies stood at the doors to the castle, having killed a few vamponies that were still alive. Twilight and Silver had their eyes closed, trying to pinpoint the source of black magic. After a moment the two opened their eyes and the main group, excluding the army, headed for the source.
The group gasped at what they saw when they entered the room the source came from. Blood covered the walls of the small chamber that had, only seconds ago, held a large core of pure black magic. Dead bodies littered the ground with smoke in the center. the blood on the floor had frozen over from an unnatural cold that had been in the room at some point creating a sort of ice ring of blood. The ruins of a large contraption, that Twilight and Midnight recognized as a device to hold a magic core, could be seen, having been destroyed, Twilight thought, by the stallion vampony that laid at the center, scorched and burned by black magic. As the smoke cleared, a small figure could be seen in the center. Her once forest green coat now red with the blood of countless enemies, more blood than even Fluttershy had on her, two shadow swords by the filly in the center of the death's side, both covered in blood, and two crossing black crystal swords now adorning her flank, she looked absolutely terrifying for a filly. Black Crystal smiled when she saw her friends. "Took you long enough, I've been killing off these guys for nearly a quarter of an hour." she said.
After getting over their shock, the group, with Black Crystal included, headed for the throne room.

The throne room, in stark contrast to the rest of the castle, was almost brand new in appearance. Death Vine sat at the throne, looking out at the rapidly changing world, that is, he was until the throne room doors burst inward and the group entered.
"Hmm, so you're all the ponies that Nightmare Moon and Celestia sent, you should be easy, especially you." Death Vine pointed to Black Crystal.
Black Crystal just smiled as she forced a guard out from behind her. "S-she's n-not t-to b-be u-under e-estimated." the guard said fearfully before being crushed by Black Crystal's black magic.
Death Vine waved a hoof dismissively, which sent most of the group hurtling into the walls, all except for Twilight, Tranquil, Shifting Wave, Black Crystal, and Fluttershy, though she was missing entirely.
"Fools, with this I am invisible." Death Vine said, motioning to the Blade of Severed Destruction in his grasp.
"We'll see." Twilight said, her voice seemed to have the sound of crackling fire mixed in with it.
Let me be free. the voice from earlier commanded.
No. you will kill my friends as well. Twilight replied as she shot forward with the others.
Not if I can help it. a calm voice that sounded as if it was magic itself said.
Who are you? Twilight asked as she easily sliced at Death Vine, her mane partially on fire.
I am Magicae, I am the spirit of the element of magic, the one that has chosen you as my new host. Magicae said.
Aid me in ensuring she will not go against her word.
I will.
Give me your word Dusk Inferno, your word that you will aid in this battle and that you will never try to bring harm to my friends Twilight's mental tone was commanding.
Very well Sparkle, I give you my word, now allow me control. Dusk Inferno said.
She wont be giving you control, I will be separating you from her physically, but you two will be forever bound to one another. Magicae said.
Twilight's body lit up with orange and rainbow energies as she rose from the ground, the world around her began to blur and distort as flames rose from the ground near twilight and from them came a being that looked exactly like twilight except with wings of fire that stayed in the shape of Twilight's wings, it's mane and tail did the same and were also made of fire, its coat was white. When it opened its eyes, the iris and pupil were both blood red and glowing, and it's cutie mark was of the same design as Twilight's except with the main six pointed star being black and the white parts being red. The creature smiled darkly, revealing razor sharp teeth.
"What is this!?!" Death Vine yelled out.
"I am Dusk Inferno, the demon within Twilight." Dusk said as she lit up her horn in the signature mist of black magic and stood ready for battle.
Death Vine swung his sword at Tranquil then, intending to cut her in half. Tranquil dodged with ease and a moment later she was behind the stallion with her sword raised, she brought it down and cut deep into the stallion before flying back to her original position. Death Vine growled as the wound healed over with black magic, then he lunged at Black Crystal, only to meet a wall of shadows that engulfed him and made if feel pure terror.
"Do you feel that?" an evil voice asked from the shadows. "That is the purest of terror, that is the fear of all, death, life, day, night, harmony, chaos. What you feel is the fear within your very heart, fears that you once had and then lost, every fear known." the voice echoed as the shadows dissipated and Black Crystal sliced through Death Vine.
Death Vine slowly regained his senses and turned to face down Shifting Wave, with a strong swing of his sword, Death Vine had nearly cut Shifting Wave in half, but she healed instantly. Turning to face Twilight and Dusk, Death shot after them, managing to cut through a good section of Dusk's body and then turned to face Twilight. Twilight delivered a deep gash to Death's right side and landed on the other side of the throne room, unlike last time, Death didn't heal.
"What!" Death asked with anger when he realized he hadn't healed.
"I am magic itself Death Vine, Through my power, I can kill gods. Your healing does not work if I am the one that attacks." Twilight's voice seemed to have a far stronger echo to it now, as if she was speaking in a dream from far away.
Dusk had healed, since her life was now bound to Twilight's. The demon shot forward, her horn glowing a menacing orange as she neared her enemy and brought her sword crashing through the stallion's chest. As that happened, Black Crystal brought her own swords down, both glowing with black magic. When she pulled them free, the wounds didn't heal.
"Immortality by black magic can only be destroyed by a natural wielder of it." she said as she slashed through Death's back.

"ENOUGH!!!" Death yelled as he used his magic to blast the ponies away and nearly kill all of them. The Pegasus vampony then took flight.
I need you Magicae. Twilight called out in her mind as she saw everypony else on the ground, their injuries from before having caught up to them.
To aid you I must take over you, are you willing, for the process of reversing it is a painful one? Magicae asked
My own pain dies not matter son long as we end this, I am willing.
As Twilight finished thinking that, she felt herself being pulled away from her own body. Twilight's coat turned harmonic gold, her mane (now flowing in an invisible breeze) turned the crystal blue of the Tree of Harmony, and her cutie mark changed to just the element of magic. She was no longer Princess Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship, now she was Magicae, the true spirit of the element of magic.
"You're reign of chaos is over Death Vine." Magicae said.
"What is this!?!" Death asked for the second time in the last hour of battle.
Magicae didn't answer, instead her horn glowed brightly with Harmony Magic as she raised onto her hind legs.
Fluttershy swooped in at that moment and positioned herself behind Death.
The magic began to charge, sparks of rainbow colored energy shooting off Magicae's horn as she called on the power within the elements, the Tree of Harmony, and even Tranquil. Magicae glanced at Fluttershy, who nodded to her calmly. I need your strengths my siblings Benignitas, Risus, Liberalitas, Probitas, Fidem, and Tranquil. I need your power as well mother Harmony.
beams of pure harmonic energy shot from Fluttershy's, Pinkie's, Rarity's, Apple Jack's, Rainbow's, and Tranquil's chests as well as from the Tree of Harmony itself. The magic began swirling around her and Death raised his sword to strike her down, he never got the chance for at that moment Fluttershy bit into his neck, releasing a powerful venom that batponies had and rendering him immobile before shooting out of the way of the charging magic.
Magicae's spell was finely fully charged and she looked at Death Vine with a determination.
"This is where it ends Death, this is where you fall, where you're life is striped away." were the last words Death heard before the magic shot out in a rainbow colored shield and crashed into Death, who screamed in pain as rainbow flames licked at his hooves and he soon burned alive.
"I didn't think you of all beings would kill him Magicae." Tranquil admitted.
"The Flames of Harmony don't usually kill, they burn away all that is evil and chaotic. Death had no semblance of good remaining in him so he was killed by them. It was nice to see you with real eyes big sis, but I will not stay for longer than I'm needed and I'm no longer needed. Tend to Twilight when I return to being in her, she'll be in pain and be unconscious." with that, a rainbow colored energy engulfed Magicae and when it dissipated, Twilight was there, unconscious as Magicae had said.
"Come on girls, lets go home and finish the final piece to this." Tranquil said as she lifted Twilight up and walked out, Twilight's half of the skeletal army had vanished after she fell unconscious so they were returning with fewer numbers.

I used Google translate to get most of the names that Magicae spoke (as well as her own name) they're Latin, but I'm not sure how accurate they are, here's the translations

This was my first attempt at using less dialogue, please tell me how I did. Also tell me how I did with the battles, since I've never been good at those.

Dusk Inferno and Tranquil were walking side by side, since Midnight Defiance had insisted that she be the one to bring Twilight to the Hospital.
"So, you're Twilight's inner demon. I'v never dealt with something like that before." Tranquil said.
"I wasn't originally an inner demon, I used Twilight as a host for about a month before she got her cutie mark and Magicae came in, she bound me to Twilight's soul essentially turning me into Twilight's inner demon. I don't think I mind nuch though, and I'm not sure where to go from here since I'm still bound to Twilight." Dusk said.
"Where'd you get your name, it sounds like a pony name?"
"Twilight gave it to me after she learned of my existence. Originally it was Twilight Inferno, but she decided to go with Dusk instead of Twilight since they mean the same thing."
"Oh."
About five minutes later, the group entered Twilight's kingdom. Predictably, everypony swarmed them to get the story, but they all parted when Tranquil told them to and they soon made i to the Hospital. The doors swung open with a rainbow colored aura around them as the main group, their army left at the borders, rushed in. Tranquil and the the element bearers that were conscious skidded to a halt at the desk that a nurse was behind.
"What happened to all of you?" the nurse asked.
"We had to face off against an army of vamponies while having to get to a castle that held the leader, who was a pony sent to another dimension years ago who had returned, while the very fabric of our dimension fell apart at it seams and ensure as few casualties as possible." Silver said.
"So the usual?" the nurse asked.
"Yep, Princess Twilight's unconscious and most of us have near fatal wounds, well accept the black magic wielding filly over there." Silver motioned to Black Crystal absently upon mentioning her.
"All right." the nurse and several others brought everypony to their room and got to work

Tranquil, Dusk, Twilight, Midnight, and Shifting were all in one room, since they were all practically the same pony. The nurses were working on healing some of the black magic wounds, as they hadn't healed. After several hours, Twilight woke.
"When'd I get here?" Twilight asked tiredly, wincing from the pain that still coursed through her.
"About five hours ago, we brought you here." Midnight said.
"Shouldn't you and your friends get going?"
"After we're all healed then yes, but until then we're stuck here. At least this place sees enough randomness to not ask questions when I request blood."
"Even before it was a kingdom, Ponyville has always had strange happenings almost regularly. We've been nicknamed by Discord 'the capital of the unusual and chaotic.' a name we feel fits just right."
A nurse came in then. "You're all cleared, you can leave when you want." she said.
"I've gotta start making up for what I've tried." Dusk said as she got off her bed.
"You're actually looking for redemption, that's a shocker." Twilight said with surprise in her voice.
"Well, after thinking long and hard about it, I need to do something to apologize since, in a way, you got Magicae to release me after she was the one to imprison me. For that I feel I've just wronged you by trying to control you."
"I think Magicae rubbed off on you a bit, or affected you with her Harmony Magic."
"It was the second, I saw some of the Flames of Harmony burning on Dusk while you all watched Death fall. Besides, I know Magicae, and she isn't the type to just leave little things like a freed demon unchecked for chaotic and evil nature." Tranquil said as she also got off her bed, followed by the others.
The group left about five hours later when everypony was healthy.

"So this is good bye for now." Twilight said as she shook Midnight's hoof.
"Yea, I can all ways reactivate the trans-dimensional gateway if I ever want to visit. I'll also write once I work out the spells I'll need to use for doing so across dimensions." Midnight said with a smile.
"Then I'll likely see you again, we're both immortal after all."
"Indeed." with that, Midnight and her allies turned from their respective dimensional counterparts, except Solar who had been talking with Silver, and they all left. As Solar, being last, left, Twilight sighed sadly.
"What's wrong?" Flutershy, who hadn't left her batpony form just yet, asked.
"Tomorrow I have court." Twilight said with a groan.
"With?" Tranquil asked.
"So snobby noble wanting to have a law about absolutely random ponies visiting my castle. Aside from that, I need to speak with Celestia. Dusk, Tranquil, and Silver, you're all coming as well as at least four skeleton guards and Shadow Mind. I've got a lot to sort out." Twilight said.

Celestia stared daggers at both Silver and the skeleton guards in silver armor hat Twilight had brought. "Why have you brought a fugitive, a demon, and a bug here?" Celestia asked angrily.
"Well I brought Silver because she isn't a fugitive in my kingdom, I brought Dusk because I could, and I brought Shadow Mind because I needed a representative from the Everfree Hive and Chrysalis didn't wish to come." Twilight said.
"And Tranquil?"
"She's here because she's powerful and she's my official guardian, I needed some protection in case you attempted anything."
"What about the skeletal guards, and who's armor is that?" Nightmare, who was siting next to Luna and also present in the room asked.
"To show that I don't exactly abide by the rules you've set. These guards were raised by me and as for the armor, it's the armor of the Rainbow Guard, my guard." Twilight said calmly.
"YOU USED NECROMANCY, WHY?" Celestia yelled.
"Because I can and I have the magic to do it. I've also used some Dark Magic, Changeling Magic, Black Magic, and I start lessons on
Nightmare Magic after I hold my court tomorrow. Silver's teaching me in exchange for being my student."
Celestia was furious at this and it showed in the fact that the sun light coming in through the window was beginning to melt the floor.
"Oh come on Tia! You and I both know that the only reason you don't want her learning these is because you don't want her to surpass you in power. She's the Element of Magic it's natural for her to be powerful and nearly immune to most magic. Besides, she was you mother and you as well so I don't see why you wont allow her to know these." Silver said.
"She was not." Celestia protested.
"She's the Element of Magic, she has been since she got her cutie mark, she stopped being Twilight Sparkle when she got it and started being magic itself, just like you did, and like your mother did, and even the changeling from so long ago did." Silver said without a care.
"Let's just get this court over with, what exactly did you come her for?" Luna asked, having had enough of the argument.
"To request Bat-ponies, Dracorns, Nightmares (in their true forms), and Changelings be allowed to live in Canterlot freely and without all the racism you show towards the groups." Twilight said.
"I will never allow those creatures to live in Equestria, much less Canterlot." Celestia said.
"Then I guess Nightmare has to leave since she's a Nightmare. That also means that Chrysalis has to move her hive since she's a changeling. How do you think the public will react to you suddenly kicking out their lost princess, or how Luna will react?"
"Then I'll make something up, and I'll ensure you don't spread the word." Celestia's darker self was finely showing.
"I have thirty changelings waiting at the borders of my kingdom and I have an army of skeletons doing the same, should you attack, all Shadow Mind has to do is send out a distress signal and me do the same and there'll be two armies on their way. I also have Sombra's daughter their and can have Silver send out a black magic pulse to have Black Crystal bring in the Crystal ponies. Aside from all that, if you attack me then it is considered an act of war and with my kingdom being so close I doubt we'll have much trouble with it. So what is your rule Celestia?" Twilight smiled a bit after that.
"I will not allow more of those races here now leave." Celestia's tone was dark.
"Very well, but I warn you. I may be leaving, but a threat similar lurks in these walls and should you ever let your guard down then it could spell disaster for you." with that, Twilight and her group left through a portal, leaving a confused Celestia with two very mad alicorns staring daggers at her.

That night, Twilight stood on a podium looking down at her subjects.
"My dear subjects, I have made the decision to allow what hasn't been allowed in years. The sub-races of Earth ponies, Pegasi, Unicorns, and Alicorn are allowed to live freely in my kingdom so long as they abide by the laws of the kingdom. Please do not be frightened by them for they have accepted the law and will not attack unless in elf defense." Twilight said as the sub-races came in, one sub-race at a time. Ponies that appeared to be Earth ponies except with glowing draconic eyes, darker shadows that seemed to move in their own way, and sharp teeth came in. They were Nightmares, the sub-race to Earth Ponies. Next was Batponies, with two fillies in particular fly over and then around Fluttershy in a circle smiling and laughing as they played with their cousin. Next was the Dracorns. Finely, a small group of Changeling's from the Everfree Hive came in, with Chrysalis following.
The collective ponies all cheered happily as they were defiantly truly united now.

On a balcony in Canterlot that overlooked the city. Luna and Nightmare smiled as they watched through a telescope what had happened.
"She truly is deserving of the title of Princess of Friendship." Nightmare said.
"Yea she is." Luna said.
