It is up to Twilight to save a universe in which things go wrong, and save a princess that last went through it.
After Princess Celestia goes to save a universe, but could not return in her time, Twilight goes after her. What she doesn't know is that the parallel universe is filled with twisted turns and horrors. Will she be able to set things right by saving Princess Celestia and the grim alternate reality?
Chapter 1 It's been raining for days now, not many ponies have been getting out of their homes. Of course most ponies would prefer to enjoy the warmth of their homes, rather than getting wet in the rain. The pegasi were having more trouble, they were the ones that made the days gloomy and rainy, getting complaints from other ponies weren't helping either. The canterlot guards had to endure the cold rain, unlike the ponies who stayed at their homes and had hot cocoas. Two guards stood at the entrance of the castle, both unicorns having no expessions on their faces. Inside the castle, a certain princess trotted around her room, unlike the guards, you could clearly see the expression on her face, worried, tired and stressed. She was not in a good mood, or in any way to work but she still trotted around not stopping once.
Her dark wavy blue mane seemed dull and messy, which was something you wouldn't see from a princess. The beautiful blue eyes of her had been reddened and sleep bags were clearly seen. If someone were to see her like this, no one would see her as a royal princess, even if she was an alicorn. Fortunately, for her own sake she stopped her trotting and laid on her bed, and closed her eyes, she was a mess, her thoughts started to linger about how her sister used to do it, when she was banished in the moon. She had to do something, and the first order of business was to call Twilight, only Twilight.
"Guards...'" her voice was sour and she closed her eyes once more, this time in pain and not in relaxation. She forced herself up and once more called for the guards assistance through her sour yet now, much better voice. Luckily, her bat-guards stood right outside her door, which was how the guards were able to hear her faint voice.
"Princess, how may we serve you?" two guards, both stallion, having yellow slit eyes, and bat wings they stood proud and tall, looking at their princess, ready to do whatever to serve her.
"Write a letter to princess Twilight and tell her to come immediately." this time Luna had a much better time at talking and she stood steadily as she did not wish to show any sign of weakness, and worry her night creatures, who were the only ones that understood Luna when she was never accepted by the ponies that all loved their sun lord.
Without saying another the guards nodded and hurrily went out her balcony and flew to another part of the castle. The part in which Celestias' secretary, Raven lived to give her the news and tell her to send it to Twilight. Luna went to her balcony after looking at the time, it was already time for the night and she had to raise the moon, and lower the sun due to her sister's absence. She had to look over the ponies dreams and make sure they are okay, but due to her lack of sleep she had to take some rest, and promise to herself to wake up in a few minutes, and talk to Twilight. After getting rid of her crown, necklace and hoof shoes, she went into bed drifted off to sleep.
Twilight's POV 'Finally, i finished my critique on Daring Do, i should probably get some shut eye' Twilight thought to herself as she put down her quill and saw that the moon had already gotten up, she was in her castle, having nothing to do, all she did was reread books and write her reviews. Spike sat next to her reading a comic book, luckily not the 'enchanted' power ponies but instead a new comic book which was titled 'The adventures of Sorcosive le Equilia' which he got from the rainbow falls trade and still reads till now. Good for her, finally spike barfed up a letter and got Twilight's attention. The letter had a golden stamp which meant it was from Celestia, but the signature was written as 'Luna'
"Well what is it?" Spike asked as he yawned, tired of all the reading he did.
"It's Princess Luna, but it has Celestia's stamp...which is wierd but it says to come immediately in Canterlot" spike looked at her terrified.
"You're not gonna leave me are you?" he put his claws over his mouth and chewed on it.
"We can go together, if you aren't too tired" spike striked a confident pose and said in the deepest voice he could make.
"Of course, i'm not tired, i'm big enough to go" Twilight rolled her eyes, and gave a slight smile as they went out together.
"She said come here as soon as possible, we'll have to fly there." twilight readied her wings and gestured spike to get on her. "
"Uh oh, i'm not gonna like this" spike said as he remembered how the last flight went.
" It's not gonna be like last time, i'm experienced now." without saying another word spike hopped on her and they flew to Canterlot, which was not a long ride, and luckily for her, the rain had stopped and a few pegasi were moving the clouds away, showing the Yellow beautiful moon. Spike didn't seem too nauseous, as he held tight and Twilight's flying was much more smoother, than it last was.
Finally they arrived in Canterlot, and the wet guards bowed to her and let her and spike in. As Twilight galloped, she could see guards getting inside the castle and new guards getting out, most of them being bat-guards as they are active in the night. Spike, who was tired, hid his tiredness and had a hard time catching up with twilight, Twilight quickly saw his tiredness, and slowed her pace.
"Spike, if you're tired, you can always rest at my room in Canterlot." it was true spike was tired, and having a room in Canterlot gave spike an opportunity to tet a nice nap. As they trotted, spike thought for awhile, but it didn't take him awhile to answer
"okay, but you have to tell me everything, you have to promise me" Twilight nodded
" i promise," she looked around and found Celestia's guard
"Guard, could you please show spike my room?" the guard nodded, and spike waved a goodbye to Twilight and followed the guard. Twilight continued to gallop, and after long hallways and turns, she arrived in the throne room, where she saw Luna and a unicorn with glasses and a raven hair with a bun, holding papers through her magic. Luna looked like a mess, it was visible to anypony.
"Princess Luna, i arrived as fast as i can." twilight trotted slowly to her and examined her and the pony next to her.
"Twilight, i am glad you are here, but we have very little time, come." Luna and the pony next to her trotted to another room as
Twilight followed. Twilight looked at the unicorn with glasses
"Umm, i have seen quiet, a few times, but i never caught your name" the unicorn looked at her for awhile before answering
"It's Raven" Twilight looked at her and smiled
"Nice to meet you, Raven" she only nodded and quickened her pace so did Luna, Twilight seeing the rush, stopped herself from asking more questions and followed as fast as she could.
Twilight's point of view We walked, all we did was walk around these long hallways, with no windows. Nopony would make a sound, only I would let out a few occasional yawns, which were rather loud and disturbing, not to mention it took me a few minutes to realize that. I would catch Raven glimpsing at me with her glasses covering her eyes, which was a bit disturbing for me. I would sometimes forget that it was the night, as the lights were extremely shiny. I swear, we walked for days. Fortunately, Luna stopped me jn my tracks and told me to look forward, as i was looking at the gold-tiled floor.
3rd point of view
"Twilight Sparkle, I called you, because we must inform you that my sister, Celestia" Luna paused, and looked down gritting through her teeth. She missed her dear sister, it reminded her when she was banished in the moon.
"Celestia, has gone missing." Twilight looked at her in awe and shock, her mouth open, her mentor gone? Twilight looked around, she was in too much shock to even say something,
"What do you mean?" she finally spoke.
"She went to a portal to another dimension, and as much I have tried, the portal will not let me go through" luna walked as Twilight and Raven followed her. Luna stopped as she stood in front of a door. The door was outlined in gold, the center pure black, with a red door knob made out of jewels, but there were two holes next to the door knob.
"Beyond this door, are more mirrors. Mirrors in which, like the time you once did, sends you to other dimensions." luna put her horn in the hole, her horn started glowing. Twilight looked at her confused, but quickly understood that Luna was telling her to help her. Without hesitation she put her horn on the other hole and her horn glowed.
"In order to open this room, two alicorn magic is required" Luna said as the door opened. Once the door opened the room was filled with mirrors, all different sizes and colours. Luna walked to a particular one, as Twiligtht followed, and Raven stood there staying behind the now open door.
"we have no time, you will be sent to another dimension through this portal." Luna showed her a mirror with black outlines, which was a big mirror with a moon shaped jewel on the top.
"Be careful, it is night time in the other dimension as you can see on the top" Twilight stopped Luna as she was pushing her.
"Wait princess Luna, i will do anything to save princess Celestia, but aren't you rushing things? I know nothing of this dimension and if i don't know anything how will i save her. Also i can't go without telling my friends, or spike." Luna sighed.
"You will know when you get there, now go the portal will close soon, and as for your friends, i'll inform them and spike." Twilight nodded at her, and without a reply she went inside the portal. After the portal closed, Raven walked next to Luna, and they both gave eachother a look.
Twilight's POV
As i went through the portal, it was wierd, and certainly different than the last time i went through a portal. Black fogs swirled and surrounded me as i went. The swirling made me dizzy but it soon stopped and I fell hard to a ground. As i opened my eyes, i saw a pink figure, she looked almost like....Cadence?
My head hurt so much, and the hard ground was not helping me at all. I was dizzy but, the pink pony, she's so clear to me. She is definitely an alicorn, I had to ask her who she was. If it was Cadence, boy, it would be my luck. The dizziness stopped, which i was glad, but it was still very hard for me to talk or speak. My throat hurt so much, who knew a simple portal could make one so weak? Finally i felt a little better, and I was a bit surprised at the fact the pink pony hadn't noticed me, after all i was groaning a lot.
"Excuse me?" i had to force my voice to sound fine, but it seemed she didn't hear me. I trotted towards her and when i looked at her face, she was asleep. Well, that was a surprise, i'm stuck in a cage with an asleep alicorn, but the stranger thing was that she looked exactly like Cadence but her hair was a different kind of curl, and shorter. There were only two kind of hair colour, when Cadence has three. I decided not to wake her up, but her sleeping position was a bit uncomfortable.
I looked around, i was definitely in a prison cell, the wall was full of vines, and the ground was definitely made of concrete, strange. I trotted back to where I landed, as I flew to the wall, my hoof didn't go through, the same thing happened when i tried to go through the floor. No wonder Luna rushed the whole thing, the portal was closing, and i forgot to ask when it opens, perhaps Celestia will know when i find her.
"What are you doing?" I hadn't noticed that the pony had woke up, and to my embarrassment, i ahd been trying to go through a wall, just great.
"Oh, umm hi I didn't notice that you were awake." i waved my hoof foolishly.
"Hi, i didn't know that i would get a new cellmate, the last one died" I looked at her surprised, died? I mean was the pony treated badly or executed?
"Died?" I asked her, and tshe only replied with a nod. I had to ask her name, she looked alot like Cadence, the only difference was that her eyes were blue and the hair. She also looked very tired, and she seemed to have a lot of bruises.
"So what's your name?" she asked me before i could ask her.
"Twilight, just Twilight" i decided not to tell her my full name, i had to get to know her first, not to mention this was a dfferent universe, it's unlikely there's another Twilight but i had to be sure.
"Well Twilight my name is Skyla, youngest daughter of Cadence." my jaw dropped, how long is this universe ahead in time? This has to mean alot of ponies are older than the ponies in my universe. Before i could ask her more questions, i could her somepony else.
"It's the guards" Skyla mumbled between her breaths. At that time i remembered i had been teleported here, I had to tell the guard something about how i came her when the guard comes over. In order to think of an excuse, i had to eavesdrop. I could hear the guards talking, they're voices it was s familiar, the voice was sickening and not pony-like. They were asking ponies how they got here, and the tired pony voices would say things like 'tried to run away', 'disobeyed the queen' and many more.
Finally the guard stood behind our cell and I now knew why the guard sounded so strange, it was a changeling in meta armor. The changeling looked at us carefully, especially at me.
"Skyla got a new friend ey?" the changeling chuckled and opened the cell, to get inside. I was a bit afraid as it moved towards me after locking the door. It's breath gave me chills down my spine as it stared at me.
"When, and why did you get here?" now it's voice was stern and cold, I suddenly froze and could not say anything. Luckily Skyla looked at my worry.
"Leave her alone, changeling" the guard looked at her and with a spear he was holding next to him, showed it in front of Skyla and the bulb which was on top of the spear, as the bulb glowed Skyla suddenly trembled and fell to the ground.
"What did you to her!?" i shouted, I had to. The changeling glanced at me with anger, but then he smiled, and soon started laughing, which was creepy and disturbing to say the least.
"Why, aren't you a brave one" he kept on chuckling as he went out and closed the gate that held me and Skyla.
"I'll keep you, on my mind purple one." as he left I quickly went to Skyla and asked if she was okay, she was conscious but she looked very tired and not to mention she was trembling. I never thought that something like this would happen in a parallel universe.
Queen Chrysalis, the mother of all changelings, sat on her throne, proud and elegant. She had a long robe which consisted of the colour red, white and black, much like the one Sombra wore. Her crown, full of emeralds and gems, nopony would mistake her as a princess, she was definitely a queen that made ponies tremble in fear. Next to her throne was a black one, with black gems, and a black crown was put upon the black throne. Surely, a queen needs a king, and Chrysalis had one. Had.
She had ruled Equestria with her love, Sombra but alas his time was short and with the last of his power he had given half of his power to Chrysalis and a few to Discord. Now, chrysalis's eyes would be shielded with a green and purple fog. She ruled Equestria but still a part of it was Discords' property. He would create chaos and just have fun with it, but as for Chrysalis, she made sure everypony said what she would tell them to and she would enslave them but not her children.
Having half of Sombras' power had it's advantages, she fed of of fear and love. Now, that thousands of ponies are afraid of her she is getting stronger everyday. As for the love, she fed from her changelings, they loved their mother oh so very much. With double the power she was unstoppable. She could even-
"Why hello chrysalis" she was interrupted by Discord, he barged inside the throne room with jewels and necklaces aeound his neck and a crown fairly smilar to princess Celestias'. He flew to the throne next to her and tried to sit on it but Chrysalis quickly stopped him, scowling at him.
"Don't even think about it, draconequus." Discord glared at her, they really didn't like eachother but Discord being Discord didn't much care.
"Sheesh, We rule Equestria together, so what's the point in having two seperate kingdoms?" he pointed out the window, showing another castle that was upside down. The castle was truly something Discord loved even though he created it with the flick of his finger in a second.
"Because unlike you, i actually care. I make sure that nopony gets in my way." Discord eyed her and laughed. Chrysalis noticing this, glared at him and raised one of her eyebrows.
"What's so funny?" he finally stopped, it was something about Discord that Chrysalis never liked.
"Oh Nothing, it's just that-" he was interrupted by the sudden barging of the door, it was one of Chrysalis's changelings, the one with a spear with a green bulb on the top.
"Your majesty, I have juicy news to report to you" he put his spear next to Chrysalis as a floating Discord 'eavesdropped' as to what the changeling would say.
" A purple alicorn has been added next to Skyla" Chrysalis was shocked, a new alicorn, the alicorn was truly a threat.
"Lead me to her, right now." discord saw the whole event happen right in front of him and he sure was happy about the news. He followed them and Chrysalis didn't even seem to care, all she thought about was meeting this new alicorn. They walked through the dark hallways full of candles and dark decorations. He was grinning as he followed them while making sounds because of the necklace around his neck that kept on hitting him and making sounds.
They went down stairs which was covered in black gems much like the ones sombra would make whenever he walked. As Chrysalis opened the gate with a key which was hidden under her robe, as she followed the changeling ponies behind the metal bars were ponies trembling and shaking in fear, they were all insanely skinny and had chains around their neck and hooves. They were trotting for a long time, chrysalis would've got lost if it weren't for her guard showing the way.
"How far is it?" she finally said losing patience. Discord, noticing this laughed.
"You seriously don't know where your acquaintance stays?" he laughed and chuckled a bit more.
"And you call me frivolous" chrysalis had it, she hated every single bit of Discord.
"Shut up, you're humour has gotten worse since your wife went insane." she replied with a smirk. She knew that would be able to hit him hard.
"As if you didn't went all emotional when your second husband died." chrysalis looked back at him, her eyes full of fury, red, green and purple all mixed together.
"Say that again" before they even knew they were staring at eachother ready to fight as the poor changeling just stood there not knowing what to do.
Back at Skyla's Cell
"So you're from another dimension?" skyla said weakly as she stood up shaking. Twilight just nodded as she helped her up.
"I just thought you should know." it was true, if Twilight was going to save this universe, she atleast had to make some friends. As long as she didn't meet her own self she was okay to tell the truth. Suddenly Skyla's ear twitched.
"It's Chrysalis and that guard" she quickly looked back at Twilight. She has stayed in this prison for a long time now, she knows when Chrysalis comes and when her minions come.
"You have to hide, now" she whispered. Twilight was from another dimension so Chrysalis seeing her would add up problems, sure the guard may see her but if Chrysalis sees another alicorn, she will either be tortured or worse.
"There's no where to hide" Twilight panicked, who wouldn't? They could hear the hoofsteps getting closer and closer. Skyla as well as Twilight kept looking for places in which she could hide. Finally Skyla looked at Twilight calmly.
"You'll just have to make a run for it when they come" It was the only way, Twilight had no other choice, she nodded and readied herself to fly as fast as she can when the gate was opened. After what seemed like almost an eon Chrysalis and her guard came, Chrysalis who looked scarier than ever stared at Twilight looking at her. Twilight's heart beat fast so did Skyla's as the guard slowly opened the gate, everything seemed to slow down.
Twilight slowly opened her wings and before Chrysalis could get in she quickly passed the changeling guard and Chrysalis, she could hear Chrysalis shouting to get her. Five changelings were already chasing her, shooting at her with green magic, it was hard to dodge them, while trying to get out of the dungeon, which Twilight knew nothing of. When she thought she saw an opening after a long staircase full of green things stuck to it. A changeling stepped in front of her, with the same spear with a green bulb on top and as he showed it in front of her, everything seemed to slow down and strange visions brewed on her mind.
There was blood, so much blood. It was princess Celestia, all of a sudden Twilight's legs shook and she fell, the figure in front of her was truly horryfing, her mentor dead, with blood everywhere, and then her eyes hurt, it felt like blood was bleeding from her eyes, her face sweaty and as she stepped forward to her she heard a scream, and when she looked at where the scream came from,....it was her parents, also full of blood and they were dying, their eyes full of tears. Twilight couldn't Take it anymore, she cried and screamed, her legs fell, and she felt blood coming drom her back and when she looked at her wings, they were gone, but feathers were scattered with blood. As if it wasn't enough her friends came surrounding her, yelling at her with horryfing voices and they kicked her and stamped at her.
