Chapter 1 - Born in Blood I'm a normal high school student just like everyone else, or at least I was. My name is Blood and this is my tale of assention.
I got home from school one day, normal, except for the UPS truck in my driveway. The UPS man stopped me and asked "Are you uhh Mr. Blood?” I nod my head to say yes. He gives me a clipboard and I sign my name. "How much is this going to cost me?”I ask. "Nothing.” he says" It's already paid for." Odd but I still didn't care much. "Since when are things already paid for and what did I order?”I asked the UPS man." Beats me but its big." he responded. I watch as he opens the back of his van to reveal quite a few wooden crates. I start to wonder which one is mine and then he says "These all belong to you.” I look at him waiting to see if he was joking, he wasn't.
It took about half an hour to get the boxes out of the van. As soon as all the boxes were out he leapt into his truck and sped off. Thankfully my parents were not home. The crates were fairly easy to open but it's what was in the crates that changed my life. Inside was a marvelous set of white and gold armor. The boots had a cloud with a three color lightning bolt coming out of the cloud on them. The greaves had three apples on both of the knee-plates. The cuirass had a strangely shaped six-point star surrounded by five smaller ones. The gauntlets had three beautiful blue diamond shaped gems on both of the palms. The shield had three pink butterflies in the center of it. Lastly the helmet was a full face that opened and shut from the side and it had three balloons on it.
It was and still is the most beautiful set of armor I have ever seen, and it's mine! I double checked the crates to see if I had missed anything, and I had indeed missed something. In one of the crates I found a long, small, flat metal box. I slid the box open to reveal a long sword made out what appeared to be ruby. I picked up the sword and heard something fall on the ground. I look down and saw a key made out of the same white and gold metal as the armor. I took up the key and placed it in my pocket. I didn't really care for the key because I wanted to try on the armor. I went and placed the sword in its metal box and quickly striped down and put the armor on.
The armor was so light and comfortable. I did a few laps around my house and felt great. When I attempted to remove the armor I quickly realized that I could not remove it. The armor had somehow mystically bound itself to my body. Though I could remove the sword and the helmet opened and came down like a hood. Then it hit me, the key must unlock the armor! I quickly ran to my pants and retrieved the key. After ten minutes of looking for a way to open the armor with no success, I gave up. I then decided it was time to go inside. I walked up to my door and found a note saying "Blood we are going on a trip, probably won't be back for about a week. - Mum and Dad" Damn those parents of mine always going off somewhere. I walked inside and found a gold chain that belonged to Dad. I snatched it up, put the key around it, and put it on. By this time I was far too tired to do anything else and all I managed to do was get to my bed and fall into the state of temporary death called sleep.
I woke up the next day. When I got up and checked my clock it said eight o'clock. "Crap I'm late for school!" I shouted to myself. I got up and did everything to prepare for school except put on clothes and shower due to the armor still being on my body. I grabbed my school books and for some reason I put on the sword knowing that I'm going to get in trouble and possibly expelled. As I was running out the door I heard something come from my parent’s room. I looked around the corner to see the TV was on and it had My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic playing on it. I wanted to watch the familiar show but I had to go. I started to leave but then I stopped and saw that my armors cuirass had the same mark as the cutie mark on Twilight's flank. "I'll research the cutie mark when I get home for now school is my objective, and my school is thirteen miles away.”I say to myself. Then I was out the door running to school.
When I ran out the door I also had jumped off my porch. The impact only hurt for a moment. I kneeled into a running position. Then I took off running but I wasn't just running I was running fast."Whoa" I shouted and stopped. I looked back to see I was at the end of my long driveway."Oh yeah, this is going to be epic!" I say out loud to myself. I took off running again with blinding speed. I must have been running at least forty miles per hour. I was running down my street then I got to the highway. I couldn't help but laugh, I was going to try and run as fast as I could. I started running slow then I rapidly picked up speed until I was going ninety miles per hour. I know I was going exactly ninety because I was picked up on a speed trap on the side of the road. How did I get so fast so quickly? I looked at the mark on the boots and then I recognized it as Rainbow Dash's cutie mark. So this armor isn't normal it’s magical. I started to run to school again.
I arrived at school at eight thirty. Satisfied at my feat of speed, I walked toward the school. Then I got scared because I was in a damn suit of armor and I was armed. What should I do? Am I going to be arrested? I gave a loud sigh. "If I get in trouble I'll tell them that if they can get it off me then I'll never bring it back to school." I say under my breath. I opened the school door and the alarm went off, but not a metal dector the fire alarm. "I know, I'll regroup with my class!" and I walked to where my science class would be. I found my teacher Mr. Bass and the other students. "Hey Mr. Bass how late am I for science class!" I called out to him."Not very late at ... son what the hell are you dress in?" he says back to me. "Uhh it is a suit of armor that I can't get off." This caused the other students to laugh and me to blush with embarrassment. Mr. Bass gives the others a glare that he never gives me, mainly because I do my work. Then he looks at me with a confused face."Son, you've done some crazy stuff and had some crazy stuff done to you before and some of it should have killed you, but didn't, and son this time you have a weapon I probably won't be able to get you out of trouble if it comes your way." "You’re still amazed that I drank hydrochloric acid by accident and I know you can't get me out of trouble this time but I can't get the damn suit off."I smiled at the mentioning of me drinking the acid. The fire alarm stopped and everyone started to go in. Mr. Bass gave me a nod that said to come to class and not to worry. I quickly followed him back to class.
My science class is on the second floor. When I arrived at class the other kids started to giggle. They probably thought I was pulling a joke or I just looked stupid. I sat down at my seat and one of the students at near me asked "Blood you do know that it's not Halloween right?" "Yes I'm aware of that." "Then why did you?" "Why are you still talking?"I said with an angry tone. This made him back off. Half way through class is when the fun began. My group and I were mixing something together when everything made of glass in the room shattered. "Everyone stay calm there is a reasonable explanation for what just happened" Said Mr. Bass. Then out of nowhere the key that I had gotten with the armor was floating in front of my face. Then it snapped the chain and flew into the white board, turned itself, and slid down the wall but when the key slid down the wall it cut through space causing a large portal to appear. I must have been the only one that saw the key because everyone else started to panic when the gate appeared. I felt happy when the gate opened and fearful at the same time. I was standing right in front of the portal when something fairly big shot out and I caught it but it also knocked me down. When I looked up to see what I caught, I almost had a heart attack. There lying on my chest was Twilight Sparkle.
I was shocked, Twilight Sparkle, my favorite pony, was laying on my chest! The gate that had brought her here shut. She recovered before I did. When she saw that she was somewhere new she leapt up and exclaimed "Spike, Applejack, Pinkie Pie! Where are you!" I could feel that she was frightened. "Twilight calm down I'm sure your friends are alright." I say to her as I get up from the floor. She then noticed me and said "Who are you? What are you, and how do you know my name?" I then gave her my smart remark. "My name is Blood, I'm a 5 foot 9 inch white human male with red eyes and white hair, and I know who you are because your a cartoon." She then walked up to me and came about an inch or two from my face. I guess she was studying me. With her that close to my face I managed to get a whiff of her scent. She smelled like paper but with a hint of some unknown sweetness and it made me blush a little.
Everyone in the class was dumbfounded. Even Mr. Bass. Then like a bad cough the FBI shows up. They bashed through the door and pointed all manner of guns at Twilight and I. Twilight looked around to see what was going on then I looked right at her and said " They are not ours friends Twilight, I'm the only friend you've got right now." She looked at me as if she was about to cry. Had I upset her? "Twilight, please get us out of here." "If I do, will you give me answers?" She said with certain sadness in her voice. "Yes I'll tell you anything you want to know." I say to her with sincerity. And with that her horn started to glow and we teleported. We reappeared not to far from the school."Crap! We need to get farther away. Come on Twilight." She gave me a silent nod and we took off down the road.
When we stopped we were behind a ice cream shop that was not open at the time. Twilight was looking around the corner to see if we were followed. I sat down on the ground and went to lay down on the dirt. I leaned back and cracked the back of my head on a dumpster. The sound scared Twilight. I quickly placed my hand on the dumpster to stop the noise. Then I checked where I had hit my head and it was bleeding, badly. My white hair started turning red because of the blood. Twilight look at me with concern and asked "Are you OK?" "I'm fine, and even if I wasn't there isn't much we could do about it" "Let me see." She commanded. "No, I'm fine. Now ask the questions you wanted me to answer." She smiled " OK then, My first question is: Are you OK?" "Yes I'm fine" I said with annoyance in my voice. "You said you'd answer my questions but your lying to me." "Twilight, I said I would give you answers, but I never said they would be honest answers." She walked around me and used a healing spell on my wound. I didn't remember her using healing magic in the show. Then she looked at me with the cutest face and asked "Will you answer my questions honestly now?". I nod my head yes.
I looked at Twilight ready to answer her. "Ask away,Twilight." "For starters, where are we?" she inquired. I take a deep breath and say "Your on planet Earth, on the nation of America,in the state South Carolina, behind a ice cream shop." "Haha, very funny. Wait." She lifts up her hoof to her ear. "Do you hear that?" I pause a moment and listen. I hear what sounds like a faint scratching sound coming from inside the ice cream shop. I point toward the shops back door and Twilight nods. I reach for my sword but it wasn't there! I had it on me when I was in the school did it slip off my belt? "Oh well guess I'll beat whatever it is up with my fists" I say silently to myself. We approach the door cautiously for fear that it may be a trap. I slowly open the door.
"Twilight do you have any spells that let others see in the dark? It's pitch black in here." I whisper to Twilight. "None that I can recall right now, sorry." she replied. The room seemed cold. I reach over and give her a small pat on her shoulder and she smiles back at me. We heard the scratching again but then we noticed it wasn't scratching we were hearing it was chewing. I reached beside the door to try and find a light switch and I did find one. I flipped the switch and the light came on. To our surprise the room was barren with four large empty ice cream containers on the floor. I gave Twilight a hand signal to stay at the door. Thankfully she understood hand signs and nodded in agreement. I took just a few steps forward when I heard "Hi! I've never met you before!" come from behind me. I turned around and saw nothing but Twilight standing at the door. I turn back around and I see Pinkie Pie stand right it front of me. I jumped back because I wasn't expecting her and Twilight exclaimed "Pinkie Pie your OK!." as she galloped to her friend.
Pinkie gasped and hugged Twilight. "Twilight I've missed you sooo so much! I've been in this room for a long time and the only company I've had was the ice cream and ice cream doesn't make a very good conversation partner." The three of us chuckled, then Twilight asked "Pinkie do you know where the rest of the girls are?". Pinkie put her ears down, frowned, and shook her head no. Twilight then introduced Pinkie to me. We then decided it was best to stay in the ice cream shops back room for the night. Twilight and Pinkie passed the time chatting and I passed it by thinking. Where had the my sword gone and not to mention the key. Keys vanish all the time so I wasn't too concerned about that but full sized swords, don't usually vanish without a trace.
It was about midnight when Twilight came and sat next to me. Pinkie Pie was asleep with her head in a empty ice cream bucket. Twilight sat for about ten minutes when she said "Blood can I ask a gigantic favor from you?" "Of coarse, just don't ask me to pull the moon down." I said to her with a smile. "Will you please help me find my friends?" she kindly asked me. I wanted to say yes but my mouth spoke the word "No." "What! Why? My friends could be in danger!" she plead. "There is nothing in it for me." What was I saying? I want to help but my voice won't let me say yes. She sat there for a while and finally she said " Your right it isn't fair. I can't just ask for you to help me without giving you anything back so how about this, you help me find my friends and I'll try to teach you magic. Sound like a fair deal?". I was finally able to say what I wanted again. "OK Twilight you got a deal! I'll help you find your pals and you will teach me magic. Shake on it?" I offered out my hand and Twilight placed her hoof in it and we shook. We sealed the deal by a hoof and a hand.
I went to sleep after I agreed to help Twilight. I had a dream. In the dream I was trapped inside something. I was in a corner of a dark room looking at thousands of old stone coffins. I was alone and terrified. Then outside the walls, I hear a faint clap and then a chirp sound. My dream then showed me a snake on some steps and I heard someone say "Somepony, anypony, please save me." The dream ends with a falling blue feather.
I woke up in the early hours of morning. Twilight and Pinkie were still asleep. I decided to checked my gear and noted that my shield was on my back and my sword was still missing. I looked out the shops back door and saw nothing, we were still safe. What had I seen in my dream? It was important I know that much. The sound that I had heard was familiar. I sat down and watched Twilight and Pinkie sleep. I felt a certain connection to the girls. Then it hit me, Chichen Itza! There is a pyramid at Chichen Itza. I can't recall the name but when you clap near it, it causes a chirping sound. I'll be damned, school came in handy. I recall that Chichen Itza is in Mexico, so that's where we are going but how will we get there?
I woke up Pinkie. "Good Morning." she said to me with a smile. I woke Twilight up with the same result except for a cute yawn at the end of hers. "Girls I think I know where one of your friends is." I said to them with a smirk. Their faces lit up with excitement and glee. "Where, where?" said the happy Pinkie Pie. "And how?" said Twilight. "Well I think It's Rainbow Dash and I think she's inside a pyramid, and I had a vision." I said while answering both questions at the same time. "So we are following a dream?" Twilight says with a sigh. "My dear Twilight every person and pony chases their dreams. We just have to literally chase mine." I say to her. She looks at Pinkie and Pinkie gives Twilight a small grin. "Alright we'll trust you so where is this pyramid?" "It's in Chichen Itza, Mexico and it's going to be a problem getting there because it's far away." "Sooo how are we going to get there?" asked Pinkie. "I have an idea, It's a bad idea but it's better than no idea. Come on girls we are going to see some of my friends."
I decided it would be safer to travel through the woods to get to my friends place. I was also very wrong. During the trip to see my pals we ran into two FBI forest rangers. Why are they so persistent on taking Twilight and Pinkie, not to mention the rest of the girls. We ducked behind some trees to take cover but a pine cone fell near Pinkie's tree.I feared that Pinkie would get caught so I jumped out in the open. As soon I jumped out the rangers opened fire. They apparently had shoot to kill orders. I got hit with around twenty bullets after that Twilight had put up a force field around me. What surprised me was not the fact that I'm still alive but that my gauntlet had come off. My right hand gauntlet had flow threw the air and landed on a tree branch. I looked at my hand to see a large amount of my blood seeping out. "Where is a damn weapon when ya need one!" I shout and just then, the blood in my hand started to bubble. I noticed the blood starting to expand. Was I going to bleed to death? I watch in fear as my own blood started to hover and elongate. After just a few seconds I was holding my sword. I couldn't believe it my sword is made out of my own blood?!
When I looked back up the two rangers had become twelve. The force field came down. When I looked at Twilight, she and Pinkie had been caught by two more rangers. I was to afraid to move, but it didn't stay that way long. I had look at the ranger hold Twilight and I noticed he had a knife to her throat. I went berserk. My heart had become cold as ice and black as night. I wanted to save Twilight above all other things. I charged, not remembering the speed that my boots gave me. I had dashed a little to the left and when I got directly next to the ranger threatening Twilight's life, time seemed to slow. I plunged my sword into his ribcage at and upward angle so that the tip of the blade came out of his shoulder. I removed my sword from his body. I grabbed Twilight as he fell to the ground dead. I noted the blood from the dead rangers body was slowly seeping out of his body and levitating at the tip of my sword. I was angry at all of the rangers for wanting to hurt the girls. I wanted them gone, I wanted them dead! The blood from the dead rangers body had all gathered at the tip of my sword. I slashed the air horizontally and it caused the blood to cut the other rangers in half.
There was one ranger left ,the one holding Pinkie captive. He was a younger man, looked to be slightly older than me. I wanted to kill him too and it felt as if he needed to die. I let out a demonic growl. He dropped Pinkie and backed away "Please don't kill me, I promise that I won't tell my commanding officers where you are, j-just let me live." He cried in fear. I set Twilight down and pinkie galloped over to her friend. I walked over to the weeping man and said "Your right you won't tell anyone , anything ever again! Your life is mine, prepare to spend your death in the arms of Hades!" I raise my sword to sever his head. "Stop!" I heard from behind me "Blood there has been enough death today!" I looked behind me to see Twilight and Pinkie crying. I looked around at the bodies and then drew my attention back at the young man. "Get out of here!" I yell at him. He ran away into the thick bramble of trees.
I sank down to the ground and started to cry. Pinkie asked "Blood why are you crying?" While gasping for air I manage to scream out "I'm a murderer. These people should not have died today. They where innocent and I killed them in cold blood." Pinkie came over and sat down next to me "Blood your not a murderer you saved us. Sure you may have killed them but at least you didn't enjoy doing it." "Your wrong Pinkie, I enjoyed it. I loved taking from them that which cannot ever be given back." I tell her while crying and giggling at the same time. Twilight ran up to me and placed her horn on my head."You have done enough Blood, time for you to rest." Twilight whispers to me. I felt a surge of magic pulsate through my body as I fell into a magically induced sleep. The last thing I remember is a faint and comforting kiss on my lips.
I woke up to find myself in a bed. "Where am I?" I say to myself. I look around to see my armor was on the ground. I quickly stood up. I looked around to realize I was in the underground HQ. How did I get down here? Back when I was a kid I went into the forest and found an abandon underground research facility. I quickly adopted it as my own underground base. I only ever told two people about it. Those people are Imperator and Chimbo my closest friends.
Pinkie Pie came in with a tray of cookies on her head. "Blood, your finally awake?" she said softly with a smile on her face "I brought you some cookies.". "Thanks Pinkie." I say as I take a cookie and bite into it. "I hope you don't mind, but I changed your clothes while you were asleep, I did leave your boxers on." Pinkie said with a slight blush. I quickly look to see what I was wearing. I was wearing black cargo pants and a purple t-shirt with a white pentacle made of vines.
"Wait how did you get my armor off, more importantly, how am I alive?" I said confused. Pinkie shrugged. "The armor just came off, and ...." The door swings open, and Pinkie and I jump. "Dude I saw you awake on the camera! What the hell is going on!?" It was Imperator, loud mouth has so much potential. When we first met I wanted to ring his neck because he was annoying and rash. Yet over time he grew on me. "Haven't you ever heard of knocking?" I say to him annoyed. "Dude I respect you like a father but really man whats going on? When two colorful cartoon ponies pull my best friend down into our base covered in blood and half dead, I tend to panic!" I jump up and cover his mouth, even without the armor I'm still fast. "First, where is my armor? Second, where is Twilight? Third, where is Chimbo?" I say to him with authority. "In that box,IDK,and in the lab." I gave a sigh. "How do you not know where Twilight is?" "Knowing Twilight she is probably in the lab with your friend." Exclaimed Pinkie. I start running toward the lab. "He wants to bang her." Snickers Pinkie. Imperator looks at Pinkie with a shocked expression. "Blood may be slightly unstable and weird but I don't think he would do that." "Well she likes him" she sings. "Oh shut up, Pinkie. Your making me worry about him."
I turn the corner and enter the door code 907295, the door slides open. "Twilight!" I exclaim. "I'm here" she says through a giggle "I'm glad your up, your friend Chimbo has been keeping me company and he is so smart." "I wouldn't be without Blood's encouragement." Chimbo said taking off a welding mask and walking to me arms open. I give my friend a hug. "How's the inventing?" "Pretty good I just finished making the Mohawk Grenade." He starts to laugh and I quickly join in.Twilight looks at us confused but grins. I walk to Twilight and whisper into her ear. "Did you kiss me?" I inquire with a small blush. She blushes back "I-I don't remember." Pinkie walks inside the lab hooves clicking on the floor. "Twilight totally kissed you! She was all like" Pinkie makes kissing sound. "PINKIE!" Twilight yells looking embarrassed. "Be honest with who you love. That's what Blood told me when I was having girl problems." Chimbo says smiling. "Ok that's all I can handle for now kids! Chimbo is the Cloud Slayer ready?" I inquire. "It still can't go top speed." "As long as it can go airborne without killing us, I could care less" I turn around to see Imperator leaning on the door frame with his arms crossed. "It flies but it only seats three" he holds up three fingers." And two seats are already taken." "What do you mean?" I glare at him. "We'll I'm not staying here. I'm coming with you." I could tell he was trying to impress me.
"No" "What do you mean no. Your not going without me." "You have no say in this." He looked shocked and hurt "Yes I do, and so does Chimbo. You can't just tell us what we can and can't do! We've been a team for five years! Five, Blood! Don't you care about the team anymore?!" I face palm myself and sigh "That is way you not coming. How will I explain your death to your parents if you get killed? I'm not risking your life for a promise I made." I look at him. "But Blood.." I cut him off. "Your not coming and that's final!" He looks down at the floor. "Understood" he turns and walks out the room.
"I feel like such a jerk." I sit down in a burgandy office chair. "Pinkie make him smile." Twilight says to her pink pony pal. Pinkie Pie runs out the door like lighting. "Twilight ,I don't need to laugh, not right now" I say to her. "Yeah you do" both Twilight and Chimbo say at the same time. Pinkie returns eating a jar of ..... "Is that mayonnaise?" All three of us say, giving her a odd look. "Nope it's really funny when you fill a mayo jar with vanilla pudding." She laughs, and we soon join in. "I really thought you were eating mayo." I say smiling, I stand up. "Are you ready?" Twilight inquires. "Ready for what?" I was thinking negative. "I did promise to teach you magic." I nod at her. "Good" "Training room is has been prepaired, Good luck bro, I'll get the Cloud Slayer ready." Chimbo walks out.
Twilight and I start heading toward the training room. "What don't you guys have down here?" She asks, at first it seems like she just wants small talk, but I can tell she has something else on her mind. "Well we don't have taxes." I smile at her and she smiles back. "Ok I have three lessons planned. You choose between transformation, telekinesis , and teleportation." I think for a moment "What would I be transforming into?" I ask. She blushes for an unknown reason "You could turn into a pony ... or something else." To be honest I wanted to choose transformation just to see what she would do but I couldn't think of why I would need to change form. Teleportation seemed like the best choice. "I guess I should learn to transform then." Why the heck did I just say that? "Alright to transform you ..." She continues to explain the process in detail, I soak in every word.
We turn the corner to see my armor mounted on the wall. The first time I put it on by myself, I had Twilight to help me this time. I hear Twilight give a light sigh like the one you hear when you look at someone you love. Am I really her type? She gives me a light peck on the cheek. I guess I am. Now I just have to figure out how to tell her we can't be together. "I've never had to break a girls heart before." I say without thinking and I think she took it the wrong way. "I'll bet you treat your fillyfriends nice." She giggles her blush becoming more noticeable. Oh damn I'm doing the opposite of what I want to. I open the training areas door. I manage to change my hair tips red within a hour but I keep thinking how I can tell Twilight "No" without hurting her. I notice Twilight watching me with her eyes half open and the smallest blush. My curiosity gets the better of me.
"Twilight, what do you see in me?" Her pupils shrink, did she really think she was hiding her feelings well? "I have no clue what your talking about."she says looking embarrassed. "Twilight I think your falling in love with me because I've kept you safe. Am I right?" This is the part where my mouth gets me in trouble because Twilight starts to cry. I hate seeing sadness and pain. "Why can't I just like you.?Why do I need a reason?" She says looking upset. Oh damn, male hormones kicked in, I tried to resist but I was trying to fight a million years of genetics, a fight I couldn't win. "I'm sorry Twilight, please don't cry. I don't like seeing you sad." I give her a hug. To be honest I had the urge to kiss her but I knew something terrible would happen if I did. She warped her hooves around me and let out a comforted sigh. Well that's one problem solved, she's happy now.
"Am I interrupting something?" Chimbo say smiling. Both Twilight and I let go of each other instantly .I clear my throat but he speaks before I do. "The Cloud Slayer is ready." "So your all set to do whatever it is your doing." Imperator says as he turns he corner giving Twilight an angry look. I turn to Twilight and grin. "Next stop Mexico!"
