Chapter 1. The Trouble Maker
Somewhere in the shadows of the Everfree Forest, Discord the draconequus was up to no good as always. He was standing over a stone box. As he neared it, the box hopped, making a hissing sound.
"Shhh shhh my little nasty trouble maker, you'll be free soon." he said in quiet playful voice. He chuckled. Licking his lips, he quickly grabbed the stone box but jumped at the sound of a twig snapping. He dropped the box and turned to see Zecora the zebra standing with a shocked expression.
"What are doing with that box?! Answer me or I’ll knock off your socks!" she demanded.
"Oh… uh… nothing…" Discord picked the box up and smiled, showing that he was nervous.
"Discord, please don't open that box. I know what’s in there should be behind locks." the draconequus pouted and looked away from the zebra, holding his nose in the air.
"Oh you think just because I'm always up to no good, you think I'm up to no good. Oh my dear Zecora, you hurt my feelings." Discord complains. He walks around in a circle. "Oh madam, what has Celestia and Luna made you think of me..... Whoa!" Discord tripped on a loose root, falling face first into the ground. The box flew out of his arms. Zecora tried to grab it, but it was too late, the box shattered into the ground. From the cracked remains of the box, a small creature crawled out from half of the shattered box. The creature was only four inches tall, it shaped like pony but it looked like changeling of some kind. The creature was a shade of dark green. It had long legs with claws at the end. It had a sharp horn on its head that sparked with green static. It had two long, snake-like tails; there was a set of four tentacles on its back. The creature rubbed is bright green eyes and gave a yawn, showing off its tiny fangs and forked tongue.
Zecora tried to hurry and grab the creature before it was too late, but once it spotted her, the creature jumped into the air, making a hissing sound. The zebra looked up to see the creature glowing a bright blue with green sparks. The creature looked at her and laughed in a high pitched voice, then sticking it’s tongue out at her and zapping away. Zecora had an annoyed look, she turned to Discord who was smiling nervously.
"Hehe oops..."
At the Apple, Farm a red stallion was fast asleep in his comfy bed. The sun began to shine rays of light into his room. Big Macintosh turned over, now laying on his belly and his face buried in his pillow. The sound of a rooster got him to lazily open his eyes. He raised his head with a tired look on his face. His mane was messy but he could care less. He gave a big yawn, and then turned to the windows, giving a small smile. After breakfast, Big Macintosh had already started his morning chores. In a few hours, he had finished feeding the animals and chopping wood for the fireplace. Big Mac gathered a few baskets and started apple bucking.
Ponyville didn't take long to start booming with its shops and their customers. The Cakes were baking cupcakes and muffins for hungry ponies; Pinkie Pie was at the ordering desk taking orders while the Cakes baked.
"Oooorder Uuuuuuuup!" Pinkie Pie called with a big smile on her face as always. Pinkie reached down from behind the desk and pulled out a paper page full of chocolate chip muffins. A grey pegasus with crossed eyes and a golden yellow mane with bubbles as her cutie mark approached the desk.
“Thanks Pinkie."
"You’re welcome Derpy." she said with a smile. Derpy paid Pinkie and grabbed the bag of muffins. She walked from the desk to a table were a light brown stallion with a hour glass as his cutie mark, Derpy sat down in her seat.
"Got the muffins, Doctor."
"Oh, thank you Derpy," he replied, grabbing one from the bag. Derpy grabbed one and took a bite. Before the Doctor could take even a bite, his ears perked up to the sound of something that sounded like a bug zapper. Derpy noticed the sound as well but it died down before she could take interest. She was about to take her second bite, but stopped. Her crossed eyes widen and her mouth hung open in shock. A creature stood on her muffin and hissed at her.
"Ahhh!" Derpy tossed the muffin on the floor.
"Derpy, what's..." a green zapping light floated up in the air, getting everyponies’ attention. The green light zapped out the door, leaving all the ponies with shocked looks. Pinkie's bottom jaw stretched down and hit the floor, but quickly turned to normal.
"Wow… must be a new kind of muffin." Pinkie Pie said with a wide eyed expression.
The creature zapped across parts of Ponyville, jumping into other ponies muzzles and hissing at them or leaping on their food or drinks before being swat at. The zapping mini-terror bolted into windows, shattering them, breaking flower pots, taking candy from fillies and colts and devouring them at a fast speed that makes Pinkie Pie's sugar rush look like the speed of a tortoise.
In the library, the purple alicorn Twilight Sparkle floated in the air with the help of her wings, grabbing a book on the highest shelf. Spike, her dragon assistant was relaxing on a chair that he rocked back and forth with the help of his tail. Suddenly, a sound of shattering glass made them jump causing, Spike to fall out of his tail and Twilight to yelp. The zapping green light buzzed up to Twilight, floating in front of her for a moment before buzzing around her book, causing sheds of paper fly out everywhere. The green light left nothing but a piece of the book cover in her hoof.
"Hey, you can't do that!" Spike growled at the light. The light buzzed down to the little dragon. Spike leapt at it like predator catching its prey, but missed. The green light dodged him. The green light dimmed down, showing the small flying creature. It started to make a zapping sound before a spark shot out of its horn, zapping Spike in the rear.
"EEEEOOWWW!" Spike screamed. He faced the laughing creature, then huffed in his chest and shot out a fire ball that exploded like a fire cracker, leaving the creature coughing up smoke puffs and covered in black soot. Spike gave a little growl, making the creature hiss at him. It then zapped behind the dragon, grabbing his tail then spinning him in a circle. Twilight rushed over to help but was caught by the creature as well and joined Spike in mini-twister. The creature let both Twilight and Spike fly into the bookshelves, making books fall on them. The creature spat its tongue out at them, then it zapped out the broken window, leaving Twilight and Spike in a silent library with dumb founded looks. It was quiet for three minutes, but Spike broke the silence "What the heck just happened?!"
The creature zapped into Rarity's home, ripping up new dresses she had just made. She screamed and tried chasing the little beast throughout her home with a broom and Sweetie Belle with a fly swatter.
"I will destroy you! You horrible little brute!" the white unicorn roared. The creature left the unicorn sisters home. It zapped around the town, knocking over a stallion painting a house on a tall ladder, leaving him covered in paint. The creature flew up to where Rainbow Dash was sleeping on a cloud. It sent out a bolt, shocking her.
"UAAAAAH!" Dash screamed. She was left with a charred and smoking rump. The creature let a tiny laugh. "Why you little!" Rainbow Dash growled. She tried to grab, it but it zapped under her, making her go upside down and land on the cloud. The little creature zapped down to the Apple Stand. It giggled, licking it’s lips and fangs. It devoured most of the apples and leaving the cores in a matter of seconds. Applejack and her sister tried to catch the creature, but missed as it zapped off towards Sweet Apple Acres.
The red stoic stallion bucked the trees, causing all of the apples to fall from the branches and into the buckets. He was at it for about five hours; it was time for a break. Big Macintosh cracked his neck and stretched his legs. He looked down at the fresh apples in the bucket.
'Might as well make it a lunch break' he thought. Hooking at the juicy apples, he spotted a big shiny red apple. He picked it from the bucket and rubbed it on his fur to make it shine. Big Mac sat down on the roots of a tree he had bucked. He sat up, putting his arms behind his head and relaxed.
Somewhere in Sweet Apple Acres, the little creature zapped from tree to tree, just looking for something to mess around with. It spotted the red stallion sitting by the tree. It brought it’s claws together, twinkling them and giving a devilish smile. Big Macintosh gave a big yawn, he brought the apple up to his muzzle and took a bite, chewing and then swallowed. The little creature revved up like it was in a race and bolted right for Big Mac.
Big Mac, not even knowing what was coming, took a bite, chewing the bits of apple. Then he opened his maw to take another bite, the creature couldn't stop, it buzzed right towards the stallion's mouth. The little creature flew passed his teeth and splattered into the apple mush. Big Mac took another bite, chewing the piece up into bits. He could have sworn something was crawling in his mouth; it was probably just a big piece of apple he didn't get. He gave a loud swallow that almost made him hiccup and burp. Big Mac just finished off the apple and returned to work.
Back in Ponyville, everypony had cleaned the messes left from the creature. Carrot Top, a yellow earth pony was cleaning up what was left of her garden. It was turned upside down by the little beast and most of her prized carrots were eaten. A green unicorn, Lyra and her best friend Bon Bon, a tan yellow earth pony with a purple and pink mixed mane, were helping pick up the flipped over tables and shattered glasses with Vinyl Scratch, the DJ unicorn of Ponyville. Twilight and Spike had stopped by the Cakes to talk with Pinkie Pie who was in a frantic mood.
"So how did this all happen?" Twilight asked.
"Well Idon'tknowIwasmakingmuffinsfor acustomerandand!" Pinkie Pie yelled, her mouth had to have gone in three different speeds but was quickly stopped by Twilight's hoof going in her mouth.
"Pinkie, please just try to calm down a little, or just too your normal Pinkie self." Twilight took her hoof out and let the pink mare breath.
"Okay. Well, I was handing out an order and then this thing pops up out of no we're and ran amuck." Pinkie was able to say calmly. Twilight put a hoof to her bottom jaw "I wonder what that thing could have been?"
"I think we have the answer you seek. It happens to involve this multi-part freak." Zecora walked along up the street with a guilty Discord being held by his ear as Zecora pulled him along with her.
"Mmm… Discord, why am I not surprised." Spike rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. Zecora dragged Discord in front of her.
"Alright, start explaining your nasty deed, or else medical attention, you’ll desperately need." Discord rubbed his ear and saw the angry faces of the ponies and dragon. He gave a nervous gulp.
"So, everypony having a good day?"
"NO!" the crowd shouted.
"What did you do this time Discord?" Twilight sighed.
"Uh alright, alright. I was getting a box that I left in the Everfree Forest a hundred years ago and I thought the little fella could use some fresh air."
"Get to the point, what did you unleash?" Twilight demanded.
"Uh, it's a called a Trouble Maker. It just likes to have a little fun, that's all." he said, giving a little chuckle after seeing all damage the Trouble Maker caused. The ponies grumbled.
"Well, since you know all about this thing, where is it now?" Twilight asked. Discord blinked and shrugged his shoulders and giving a smile.
"Well I don't know." Twilight face hoofed and sighed loudly.
Applejack and Applebloom had returned to Sweet Apple Acres after a long day. Applejack was able to sell at least few of what was left of her apples. They had been given a good pay but it was a small amount. Applejack was pacing back and forth in the main room, complaining about the terrible creature that Twilight called the Trouble Maker.
"How dare that little varmint eat my profits?! If ah see that thing again, I'll teach em a lesson he won't forg,.." Applejack felt a hoof pat her on the back. Big Macintosh was standing beside her with a worried look on his face. Applejack sighed.
"Don't worry AJ, it's okay. You and Applebloom did alright fer today." Big Mac said in asoft booming voice, trying to cheer his sister up.
"Huh, yeah… you’re right." Big Mac smiled.
"Eeyup." he hugged his sister and patted her head.
"Come and get it!" Granny Smith called from the kitchen. The Apple siblings sniffed the air; she had made her delicious apple pies and fritters. AJ's mouth watered.
"Alright, now we’re talking." Applejack raced to the kitchen with Big Macintosh slowly behind.
The Apple Family had eaten a great dinner. With full bellies, they all sat in the living room, Granny Smith sitting in her big chair and the three Apple siblings sharing the couch. Big Macintosh sat in the middle, propping his hooves up on a stool. The whole house was quiet till his stomach made a loud growling sound that alerted his sisters and grandmother. Suddenly, Big Mac stood up. He looked like he was in a daze. He quickly reached over to the side of the couch, snatching a small pillow, then shoving it in his mouth and swallowing it whole. Once the pillow vanished into his gut he shook his head and saw his family staring at him.
"Di,.. Did I just eat a pillow?” he asked, sounding terrified.
"Eeyup…" AJ replied.
Granny felt Big Mac's head for a fever. "You feeling okay, dear?" Big Mac rubbed his head.
"Yeah I’m okay. I must be tired… Uhh… goodnight." Big Mac said sounding eager to leave and not face embarrassment. He ran upstairs into his room and closed the door.
"Hey Big Mac, want ketchup and mustard on your bed sheet?" Applebloom called up and then was slapped on the head by Applejack.
Later that night, while everypony was turned in for the night, Big Macintosh was tossing around in his bed. The poor work horse held his stomach as it made a rumbling sound. He moaned painfully. Big Mac kicked off his blanket, his belly rumbled louder. A bright green light could be seen inside. Big Mac's body started making a cracking sound.
Celestia raised the sun on a new day. Applejack woke to the sound of a rooster crowing. Applejack uncovered herself and gave a big yawn. She had tired eyes and messy mane. A loud bang echoed across the barn. Applejack sprinted out of room; the sound came from Big Mac's room. She bucked the door open and stopped. She froze to see a large hole in the room. Big Mac's bed was flattened the pillows had be smashed in so much that the feathers were floating everywhere.
"Oh no, Big Mac!" she yelled out, putting her hooves up to her mouth "Big Mac! Big Mac!" she yelled even louder in the hope her brother wasn't hurt or worse?!?
"EEYUP!" Big Mac's voice echoed through the room. Applejack almost lost her balance, the barn shook. Through the large hole came a shade of shadowed red and then a pair of giant eyes. AJ yelped, her eyes widened and her jaw dropped.
"Wha... the... hay?" she brushed a hoof through her messy mane, keeping it away from her eyes to make sure she wasn't seeing things. "Bi… Big Mac?" she asked recognizing the worried light green eyes.
"Eeyup."
