Fluttershy had heard noises all that week, as she walked home from a day out with her friends, Twilight had ran off with Pterosaur about something important. She didn`t mind Twilight need more than her and the others. Of course she`d never say that, but she though it.
As she made her way up the lonely path to her cottage she had a pan of guilt, today was a day she didn`t want to dwell on. Having no family to support you can be harder, that coupled with Fluttershy`s crippling shyness made it almost impossible to tell anypony about how she had nopony left.
Opening the she found Angel and nothing else, only furniture. All the animals were hibanating and the birds had flow south for the winter. Sighing she didn`t look at the calendar. She knew what today was, she mopped to the kitchen. Angel hopped after her, he didn`t know why but she always acted like this on this date.
The 25th of September. What was so special about that date, after mopping about she`d always got to the cemetery after dark. Like it was some chore she really didn`t want to do.
Fluttershy trimmed the flower on her kitchen top, getting them ready for tonight, the cemetery was a place she didn`t like to go, she knew Applejack went there when she needed guidance, but to her, she went there for mooring, her whole family. Rainbow was the only one of her friends who`d met them. Fluttershy made her promise that she`d never tell anypony about her family unless she asked her to.
As the moon began to rise Fluttershy spirits began to fall. Collecting the flowers, she fluttered out, the tears already forming.
Ponyville at night is just as nice as Ponyville in the day, is what Fluttershy would think on any day other than this. Her slow wings strokes made her move obvious she was forcing herself forwards. She finally got to the cemetery with a sigh she opened the old rusted gate.
Only 3 ponies entered the cemetery other than herself, the undertaker/gravedigger, Applejack and Zecora. Apparently she`d came to Equestria with her sister, her sister had died from the flu after catching it. Zecora had never forgiven herself for not being about to save she sister, and would come every night.
Fluttershy arrived at the 4 graves in the cemetery that made her heart ache for the past. Her families graves. Quiet tears escaped her as she placed a single flower on each of the graves. All the graves had moss and dirt covering them, Fluttershy used a hoof to wip there names clean, all had the same loving message, there family motto 'Life is in your hooves and nopony else, make something of it'.
Fluttershy looked at the family motto, for a moment what would she be remembered for, as the element of kindness, as an animal keeper or as the shy pony she was, all her brother did something exciting, she whished she could be as brave as some of them, her oldest brother was always the rock, whatever problem she had he`d always listen, he cared for everyone and everything around him, become a scientist due to him being an earth pony, helping the worlds ponies. The only one of Fluttershy`s family to not have a grave in Ponyville.
Fluttershy knew that se could never ask anything from them, they gave everything and she gave nothing. As she was about to leave she found Zecora standing next to her.
With her sisters grave, standing next to her older brothers. Both the equines never said a word to each other. For a minute, Zecora finally broke the silence.
"Tell me dear Fluttershy. Why do you cry?" she asked, her rhyming as sign of her guilt, in Zebra culture apparently they rhymed when they feel guilt over something. "Because it the only thing I can do to stop the pain" she coughed back, tear flowing faster, Zecora pulled her into an embrace.
Neither saw the pair of ears in the lonely weeping willow tree.
Zecora had invited Fluttershy over for some tea. As she`d already feed Angel she agreed. As both of them sat round a small table in Zecora hut. As Zecora ladled in the tea from the caldron in the centre of the room. Bringing both cup over on a tray, she placed them on the table. "So how died. and now in grave they lie?" she asked.
"My Family" she whispered Fluttershy, she knew talking to somepony would help, Zecora understood the loss of a family member but telling her was just as bad as anypony else.
Zecora nodded and with a respectful face "How long. Have they been gone?"
"Too long" she whispered back in between sniffs, she never liked to share exact details even if it was about unimportant things.
Zecora seem to gather her through "How did they die. And why?" came her next question.
Fluttershy retold the story told to her by on off her last surviving relatives, her oldest brother, a month before he died.
The orange stallion stood on at Fluttershy front door, a small note in his mouth, a small tear running down his face.
"Fluttershy it me, I have some bad new" he said voice not breaking once. As the butterscotch Pegasus opened the door, she looked into her brother green eyes, then at the note he was handing her.
Fluttershy broke down into tears, and clang to her brother`s neck, reduced to a shivering wreck she clang to him as he stocked her mane.
"It`ll be Ok. I promise I`ll never leave you. No matter what" he said tears clouding both there vision, Fluttershy had cried herself to sleep and her brother had taken her to bed.
Fluttershy finished telling her story to Zecora. The Zebra only nodded. "It is late, the woods may lead you astray. Please stay" offered Zecora, Fluttershy nodded, Zecora step up a guest bed.
Fluttershy drifted off to sleep.
Through the window of the hut a pair of green cat like eyes glowed, staring intently at Fluttershy.
Fluttershy got up, it was dawn and the birds in the Everfree were chirping and singing merrily, Fluttershy was much happier then yesterday today would be a good day. A quiet walk home and then and nit under a large tree or in her cottage, in her cottage away from prying eyes.
Stretching Fluttershy got up, and left the bed she`d used neat and tidy, leaving a note for the still sleeping Zecora she left. Fluttershy didn`t want Zecora doing anything else for her, especially after last night, Zecora had been far to kind with her and she`d only insisted on making her breakfast something Fluttershy couldn`t refuse so going before she was awake was the only thing for the shy pony to do.
Walking along she hummed along with the birds. Walking the game trail she closed her eyes and smiled, morning was the only time she didn`t have to worry about any monsters lurching in the shadows.
She stopped as she realized the forest had become dead silent, nothing seem to move or breath, she was by herself. A growl echoed through the forest and up her spine. A pare of pupil-less eyes appeared in the tree line, their blood red glow froze her on the spot.
She began to hyperventilate, her quick shallow breaths drew the creature in closer. It wooden mussel and head came through the trees, it had a short bull-dog like face, with a massive set of upwards pointing fangs on either side of it face, their were position so the tips made it look like the dog had pupils. The large Timbre-dog barked at her, green saliva spewing from it jaws.
Fluttershy instincts started to kick in but it was too late, as she hooves began to ran the dog charged, Fluttershy was flung back into a tree.
The dogs licked it`s lips, it lunged at her going for the kill teeth sharp and ready to go. Fluttershy quivered for the final blow, which never came.
Standing in front of her was a pair of orange legs, with white toes and black claws a bristle brush tail attached to the rest of the creature.
Looking up Fluttershy found a creature holding open the jaws of the Timbre-dog. With 3 claws stuck deeply into the wooden dogs jaws. "Move!" shouted the creature it canine head looking at Fluttershy, she got up and began to fly away. From the brawl.
The creature flung the Timbre dog into the trees, going down to all fours it growl. green eyes fixing on the red eyes of the dog. The dog pounced, the creature dived out the way, with it trailing foot, scratching the dogs face, leaving 3 slash marks on the dogs face. It shock it head to rid itself of the pain in it face.
The sun glinted through the trees, when it hit the dog something metal shone in the light, something star shaped was struck into the dogs shoulder. The green eyes of the creature locked onto it target, galloping across the short distance it used it jaws to grab the metal star, a green liquid started flowing from the wound. The dog began to try and shack the small 5 and a half foot creature off itself. With a powerful swip of a paw, the orange creature was rocket into a large tree. The tree collapsed onto the creature.
Fluttershy eyes shrank, as the dog turn to her, it smiled licking it lips, it spoke with broken and slurred equestrian "Me hungry...you look tasty... me eat you!" it barked jumping for Fluttershy.
Before the dog to her something tackled Fluttershy out of the way, as the dog collided with a tree that broke in half the creature that was supposed to be swashed under a tree was pushing her along with it`s mussel. "Come move, that trees not going to hold it forever!" it stated. Fluttershy started to gallop with the creature with the creature galloping next to her.
The dog burst from the trees, barking at them. The orange creature turned and throw the metal star at the monster, it landed dead centre, the dog collapsed, with green fluid leaking from it`s shoulder chest and face. Fluttershy didn`t stop neither did the creature, but it returned to the shadows of the forest. Or so it through
Fluttershy stopped a with a solid buck it the creature in the face knocking it out. It face landed on the dirt path.
Fluttershy looked at it "Oh my" she whispered.
Luna was in the dream scape. One of her favourite places, every dream and though was passed through here, and Luna could see all of it.
Luna then felt the presence of a nightmare being dreamt, looking into the nightmare to see if she could help, it surprised her as were the dreamer was, near the Everfree forest.
Looking into the dream she found a waste land, and soft padding foot steps, then everything was consoled by a blinding flash of light. Followed by a mushroom shaped cloud, with red light glowing throughout it, making it look like a sentient being. Then the seneray changed to a small dark room, then a frying pan nearly hit Luna in the head. Dodging it Luna looked for the dreamer, she could only help them if she knew how`s mind she was in.
The scenery changed again to a funeral, Luna was know in a graveyard near Trottingham, with a small tombstone and a coffin being lowered into the ground. Off all the many face their one stuck out to her, the element of Kindness Fluttershy? Why was she in this ponies' dreams.
Then something cast a shadow over her, before she could look at the caster she was removed from the dream by the pony waking up, the only thing she could she was orange.
Luna snapped back into reality, breathing heavily, that only happen when instead of a dream she was in someone was reliving memories in their dream. "What poor soul could this happen to?" she asked herself.
Fluttershy had left the creature for a moment, to fetch a ice-pack for the bruise all over it`s body. As she placed the ice pack on it`s head, she backed away and sat down in an arm chair. Opposite the creature, from what she could tell it was a fox, a red fox, but the only thing was it was at least twice the size of a regular fox, with only 3 claws instead of the regular 4, and it had a cutie mark? only ponies and zebras had cutie marks.
It had fox head with a radiation symbol in the centre, with black and green conflicted with the orange of its coat.
It green eyes fluttered open and it sat up, with one straight and one crochet ear on it head, with tuff on fur where a ponies mane would be, with 2 tuffs also being on it checks. It pupils locked onto Fluttershy both of them looked at each other.
The last time Fluttershy heard the word 'Futtock' was when her oldest brother said when he was either in trouble or hurt himself, but anyone could have learnt that word! But why did this well fox-pony know the word? In fact how did a dog speak in the first place, wait didn`t that timbre wolf? Dog? speak?!
Fluttershy shock her head to clear her thoughts, the fox creature was court in mid stride off the sofa, his large black claws hitting the floor with a 'rat-a-tat-tat' his large green eyes looked into Fluttershy`s eyes.
His animalistic side was obviously frozen due to well the stare Fluttershy was giving him, his pony side on the other hand was resisting, finally giving in he sat back on the sofa, almost like he was preparing for something.
"What do you think your doing? Your hurt, you need to rest! I don`t care if you can speak! Your resting till you`ve healed!"
The left eye of the hybrid twitched slightly "Seriously? Your going to keep me here? Yeah you an what army?" he asked, almost to whined her up, which she stared back at him, he seem to be regaining control of the animalistic half of himself and began to resist slightly.
Then Angel hopped onto the couch and started to squeak at Fluttershy about him smelling similar to her, the fox/pony gave a odd look, it was like worry but it had the look of 'I`m not bothered' as well.
"Could you repeat that Angel?" asked the shy Pegasus, only to Angel squeak a very peculiar sentence.
"What do you mean, how does he smell like him?" more squeaks in annoyance.
The hybrid coughed getting the attention back "Err, do you guys want something to eat, I`m kinder hungry so..." he spoke looking at the kitchen, Fluttershy simple looked at him "But you wouldn`t know where any off the food is kept"
"I`m half fox, I got a nose for this sort of thing!" he said smiling pointing to his large wet nose. With a smile he asked "So what do you want?"
"Just some tea please, that is you can make tea, not that I don`t think you can make it well it just I never seen a fox make tea before" she was cut off by one of his paws being raised "I lived in Trottingham for 5 years, I can make tea, but that ice stuff... yeack" he said putting a paw in his mouth mimicking vomiting.
Actual thinking about it, he did have a Trottish accent, strange but what was he doing here, about 500 miles away from Trottingham?
Pacing off into the kitchen, the creak of cupboards and a kettle was heard not even a 'no not here' was heard like he knew where everything was. He`s head poked out the door and said "By the way I didn`t catch your name" "Fluttershy" she replied "Well the folks round Trottingham called me Fox" he said with a small smile, the kettle whistled and he`s head disappeared.
He reappeared a few minutes later with a tray in his mouth, placing it down on the coffee table he sat like a dog, instead of a cup he had a large dog bowl, often used for the bears full of tea, lapping it up.
He yelped as he shot back "Youch yI yburnt ymy yongue" he stated.
"You what?" asked Fluttershy in confusion, a his tongue glowed green as his tongue looked like it was on fire? it healed in a matter of seconds.
"My tongue, I burnt my tongue" he said causally, Fluttershy looked in disbelief, why did his tongue glow? Why was he a talking fox-pony? Well theirs only one way to find out answers!
Hopefully he wouldn`t be to cross. "Excess me for asking but... what are you exactly? I mean you not have to if you not want to but I was curious and hope I didn`t offend you by"
The hybrid smile a sad smile "Naah, I`m not offended, in fact I think this is the nicest anypony ever been to me, normally it, WHAM hit me over the head with the frying pan, well anyways I am a ... mutant?-he looked to Fluttershy who had a look of confusion on her face, shacking his head he continued -I was a pony but then a fox bit me, then a massive magic blocking bomb exploded combining my DNA with a fox hair, a few day in hospital later I changed into this- he said smiling pointing to his canine/equine body-But hay you know, if yah going to work on a bomb that takes away magic your probably going to be blown up by the mafia"
Fluttershy looked at him for a moment "Did you know a pony name Radio Wave?" she asked, her brother died due to something like that, she wondered who caused the explosion, she got a answer, a really good answer.
"What my boss Radio Wave, yeah I knew him, great guy, so you must be Fluttershy his little sister? I mean I never heard of 2 ponies sharing a name before, but he did talk about her a lot, he said she was the bravest pony he knew" she said
The was her brothers word alright, only he`d say something like that, sure other ponies had said that but not like the way her brother did, sure Radio Wave was braver than any other pony she knew.
Angel squeak like made at her say something on the lines of 'You idiot, he is you brother! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE DASIY, HE`S RADIO WAVE!!!!'
The squeak got the attention of both off them, Fox was quick to response in foxish? "You little rabid rabbit, she doesn`t need to know that her only surviving family member is a freak like me so shut you rabbit hole before I bite you ruddy face off!"
Unfotunatly for Fox Fluttershy spoke foxish fluently, well she spoke most animal languages fluently, and she understood every word, and fainted on the spot.
Fox looked at Angel "I hate you"
Then he heard a voice form the door "Hey Fluttershy you in?" asked a brash and young voice, sounded like a filly.
"Futtock" he whispered under his breath guest what he needed.
Deep in the vacuum of space floated a large bronze pyramid. With golden flames firing from the base, the large bronze bricks where tinted black, with ancient hieroglyphics running along the sides.
Inside the pryimad green light flashed as a army of demonic looking jackals all in bronze and gold armour milled about checking dials and gages on various control panels. All of the jackals were about 6 feet in height all sporting short swords with a curve in the middle, making it look like a 'c' only less curved.
Then a giant lanky jackal appeared, every bone showing in his body, his nose missing well the flesh part of his nose, or any muscle, it was a skeleton with flesh.
One of the smaller jackals bowed to the larger jackal "Sir we`ve found Thoth`s experiment again, What are your orders Lord Anubis?"
Anubis smiled "You know my orders, we will bring ture death to his presoius experiments, but first I must find my daughter before the purge can begin, send in the devourers I want to asses is experiment, I will contact you when I want to start the purge"
The smaller one saluted "As you wish" he said walking off. Anubis glowed green a reformed into a burning skull and flew out as a swam of locus and disappeared into space.
Fox looked out the window, finding a small orange filly with a mess purple mane and tail, waiting patiently at the door, with a scooter next to her. Well at least she wore a helmet. 'FUTTOK'
Scootaloo stood patently at the door, Fluttershy had inveted her and the other crusaders around to help her with some of the few animals still left under her care, Deers maybe? Or was it Bears?
Argh... thinking! One of the few thing to distract her from her boredom, where were Applebloom and Sweetie Belle anyways? Maybe the cancelled without her knowing?
Then the door opened reviling a large brown dog with a crocked ear and green eyes, whimpering, disappearing he dragged a unconscious Fluttershy into view.
A few minute earlier, Inside Fluttershy Cottage
Fox looked around the kitchen "Come on something dog coloured, or bear colour, yeah large ginger dog with a cutie mark, gonna blend right in" he growled looking through the cupboards.
Angel stamped his foot on the ground impatient "What are you doing, why do want to be brown?" he asked, for a rabbit he was perceptive. "So I look like a dog, not a 5ft and a half tall fox" he snapped back, finding some coffee powder he poured it on himself, sure the smell burnt his nostrils but it would work as a disguise. He smiled slightly, only the white underbelly and his toes where visible as their true colours, his cutie mark was covered completely.
'Now to greet are guest' he said pacing to the dog.
Back to the present Scootaloo, was pushing Fluttershy up onto the couch, with some help from the dog? Whatever he was he stank of coffee! As he pushed Fluttershy body up onto the couch, Scootaloo propped her head with a few pillows.
Bringing her scooter inside, Scootaloo contemplated on what to do next whilst, the large dog paced like a impatient pony? sure was weird, thinking about it she`d never seen a dog with green eyes, and when you looked into them you could almost see, well intelligence?
"Urgh I`ve been reading too many of Spike`s comic books!" she stated, Spike had a very good taste when it came to books to read, comic books, the only awesome books around! Because if you didn`t fell like reading you could just look at the pictures!
The large dog lay on the ground, facing Scootaloo, scanning her almost, then it quickly changed demine into a happy tongue hanging limply out the side of his mouth. Scootaloo didn`t know why but she felt like she should have known this dog?
"So do you know what happened to Fluttershy?" she asked, The dog nodded his head much to her surprize, shaking her head.
Looking around then back to the dog she talked again "Did you just nod?" she asked, the dog rolled his eyes and nodded, the dog was mocking her?
"So you know any tricks?" she asked bored out of her mind, the dog placed a paw to his chin and through, coming up with an idea he jumped up.
Jumping from his standing position he preformed a front-flip and landed on all fours, a smile on his face, and he lay back down, Scootaloo stared in shock and awe for a moment. Jaw hanging open.
Angel squeaked at Fox "Know you made her unresponsive as well!" Fox replied in foxish as, he didn`t want to take risks "Well I didn`t think that would be to be, a Pegasus should see a front-flipping dog now and again"
Angel kicked Fox`s foot and hopped off, looking back at the filly she was still frozen, sighing he got up, using his dog fissured to keep his cover he licked the fillies face.
Scootaloo snapped out of it as the large dog finished licking the side of her face, wipping off the drool with a hoof she gave the dog the stink eye.
A moan came from Fluttershy as she came around, Scootaloo rushed over helping the butterscotch Pegasus up, as Fluttershy opened her eyes, she looked onto the dog.
Fox gulped.
Princess Luna had a rough night, but good new was finally coming her way. As princess of the night all nighty creatures and monsters were her problem, one suck creature was a strange werepony terrorising Trottingham, the strange thing was it was targeting powerful crime lords? Anyway after all of the Crime lords had been court by this werepony it`d disappeared.
Luna knew Celestia could careless about that it got all the crime lords in to jail, the matter was that well, where ever it when thins would be burnt by skeletal paws, it made no sense, why was their burns, was this werepony in an alliance with a spirit of some kind?
This creature had been missing for a few weeks know, but know the trail was finally found, the werepony was in the Everfree forest, or at least the last time he slept was near their, but the only problem was pin pointing it`s location.
Due to it`s strange make up it was difficult to locate, it seem to absorb magic? Anyways magic was always weaker near this werepony.
That was evident, as most of the gangs he took down were comprised mostly of unicorns, actual thinking about it, this werepony and the accident involving a miss fire of a magic numbing bomb, to stop criminals form using magic.
That still didn`t explain what the werepony had to do with anything but know she knew it was for someone else, hopefully.
She couldn`t get rid of this feeling that a great calamity was coming, she knew Celestia was dealing with the experiments from 3 thousand years ago, but the calamity she was fearing felt more ancient, more like it craved something unnatural.
And this calamity would happen soon. And she knew that this werepony would be there but not what his roll was, is only hoped it would be a against the calamity not for the calamity.
Celesita had left to attend to Ponyville and the experiments, Luna had made arrangements so she could leave and find the werepony, no guards would be coming, large number attract less predators, Luna wanted it to come and find out what made it tick.
The Everfree is full of strange creature, Zecora more than most knew this, but some new tracks made her shudder, with a 4 toed ungulate walking behind with a lion? With a large dog next to them, she didn`t know why but Zecora knew this was bad news, and only one pony could deal with animals.
Fluttershy
Fluttershy was having a bad day, Fox had explained himself in foxish, so he kept his dog disguise up around Scootaloo, unfortunately for him the coffee had began to wash off, he steadily became more red as time when on.
"So Fluttershy why did you pass out?" asked Scootaloo, Angel pointed furiously at the large dog, the dog placed a paw over the rabbit.
"I...ummm... was shocked... when Fox did a trick" said Fluttershy, unsure what to say.
Scootaloo looked at the dog, "So your names Fox?" she asked it was a strange name for a dog to say the least.
A thunder crackle echoed behind him, as black lightning hit him in the head, burning half of his head.
Princess Luna of the night step out of the shadows of the doorway, putting herself between the ponies and the canine.
"Argh todays guest not my day" Fox groan covering the burnt half of his face with a paw.
Princess Luna Scootaloo Fluttershy Anubis Ammit Fox Zecora
Luna rushed the fox like creature, both crashed through a window, and with a skilled throw Fox was thrown against a large tree.
Luna clicked her joints, it had been a long time since a monster had threaten one of her subjects and was able to teach it a lesson, her way!
Fox got up groggily, healing quicky only a few minor cut nothing like a broken bone, than Celestia, a broken limb and he would have to reveal his party trick.
"Couldn`t we talk about this over tea?" he asked, his disguise was disintegrating, half his face was already back to the orange of his nature, Luna only glared at him, she begin to charge her horn.
Fluttershy and Scootaloo, looked out the window, Scootaloo looked in awe as Luna fired the black lighting at the werepony, he dodged them with a series of dog style tricks, rolling, sitting and laying down.
"Hold still! Your only tiring yourself out lycan!" she shouted at the beast, which stopped, green eyes looking onto Luna`s, Luna sore her chance firing another bolt of arcane magic at the beast it yelped.
She`d sored a direct hit on his back leg, and due to the force the bone had almost shattered, hoppling to his feet he almost gave a death glare to the princess, A large crack and the broken leg was healed.
"Your majesty, I can take more punishment than you can. I like to call this my part trick, any magic fired or used againsty me well... let say it like medicine, I use it to heal myself" he smiled the trump card, always worked against the creeps he`d fought.
So why was she laughing?
"Well it seems melee combat it is!" stated Luna drawing a sword form the shadows, Fox ears fell back as his eyes shrank, "Me an my big mouth"
Luna charged, almost like she enjoyed every second of it, Firing her sword a few inches way from the beast head, he flipped up over the sword, claws digging into a tree, she smiled, his orange coat seeping through the coffee over his body, Luna retrieved the sword, form the ground with a swipe it cut through the tree Fox was on.
Jumping of the tree Fox used to large pieces of bark as guards against the sword, the metal sword cut through the bark with easy, jumping back onto his hind paws he black claws shone slightly, a feral growl coming from him like a wild animal.
Fluttershy couldn`t take her eyes off the sense in front of her, Princess Luna was attack her brother, and he wasn`t able to do anything.
Fox looked a Fluttershy, he had made a promise the night their parents died 'She`ll never be alone again'
Luna sword came down, just as it was about to collide with the lycan it melted? holding up the melted sword blade she growled, disregarding it she looked over to the beast. She had no choose, take a shot with the most powerful arcane spell she knew.
As the massive bolt of black energy fired across the sky it was stopped by a jet of green flame? fire cannot counter magic, and fire was never green unless it was magical, so where did it come from.
A harsh growl echoed from the smoke as a green glow lit up the smoke field, the creature had turned into a blacken skeleton with green fire flickering around the burnt bones.
Luna took a step back, as the fire stopped around the creature flesh returned to the bones, with the orange and white fur coming back. On it hind legs stood it cutie mark, a mark each of the captured crime lords had described.
"Now as I have your attention your majesty I have a question, WHY`D YOU SHOT ME!" he bellowed at her, she replied in the royal canterlot voice
"I THOUGHT YOU WHERE HARMING FLUTTERSHY AND SCOOTALOO!"
A scream echoed from inside the cottage, stopping both of them, Fox didn`t hesitate running at the cottage, and jumping through the broken window. Luna followed him.
Both of them looked around, the door had been smashed in, and large claw marks littered the room. Fox smelt the place, Luna looked around for anything to help.
Fox got a scent, neither of them said a word to each other, as Fox lead the way through the woods following the trail of destruction.
Ammit or the Soul Eater, the right paw monster to Anubis, was dragging the God of the Dead, daughter and one other to him, sure it wasn`t the easiest thing to do, both of them being able to fly, but she got them, thankfully both of them weren`t sinner, in fact she hadn`t met a single sinner so far in this world, Well she`d only meet the two of them , and by 'met' chase them and put them in a rug, but you know details.
Stopping in a clearing were he supposed to meet Anubis she sat down, her large crocodile jaws still firmly clamped around the rug, with a lions paw on the other end of the rug she lay down. He be here soon enough.
Zecora found the place were the strange prints ended, to a large 5-6ft tall creature, with a crocodiles jaws, with the upper body of a lion and the rear end of a hippo, it lay next to a rug with it jaws clamped over one end and the other having a large paw over it.
Sneaking up to the creature would be easy, but finding out why it had Fluttershy`s rug not so much. Keeping very still she listen.
"Let us out lizard lips!" came the voice of Scootaloo from inside the rug, now Zecora had to act, a beast like this could kill her easily, the beast shifted a paw to where it`s mouth was, "Not so fast Anubis jr. Your father wants to talk to you"
Scootaloo wings buzzed like an angry swarm of bees, as she and Fluttershy struggled in the rug, both of them struggling for different reasons. Fluttershy just wanted to escape claustrophobia setting in. Scootaloo wanted to get out to see this so called 'dad' of hers.
Zecora got a cold chill running down her back, Zecora didn`t know why but she could feel death lingering close by, she had to get that rug.
A green fog encompassed Ammit, she hated fog, stadding up she looked around to see where the fog was coming from.
Zecora put a small knife to the rug, cutting a hole big enough for Scootaloo and Fluttershy? to escape from the rug, all three of them ran to the tree line as the fog cleared.
Anubis, walked into the clearing, he sore Ammit with a rug, which had a hole in it, the 8 foot tall decaying jackel pony roared in outrage at the Devourer "Ammit you let them get away!" she stumbled back out of fear, landing on her hippo hind quarters, "I had them a minute ago, I swear, then this fog came and then it was know!" she spluttered.
Anubis growled, his gold headpiece glinting in the sun "Fine, but not fail me again, know you know what my daughter looks like, FINE HER!" he bellowed at Ammit, running back along the trail of destruction she`d left earlier.
Anubis yellow eyes glowed green as his disappeared as sand in the breeze.
Zecora looked at Scootaloo, she had a look of fear sprealled across her face "My dads a dog?" she asked both the mares next to her.
"So your Fluttershy`s brother?" asked the astounded lunar princess. Her and Fox had started to speak after about a minute or 2, but some of the things he said where strange
"Yeah before the mutation through we had more family resemblance" he said looking at the prints in the ground.
Then the sound of thundering hooves echoed as a strange crocodile snouted, lion torsoed, hippo bummed creature galloped at them. Luna flew into the air as Fox readied his claws.
As the creature got within jumping distance Fox leapt, claws digging into the head of the monster, it came crashing down onto it side. Fox removed his claws from the creatures head grabbing it by the through "Tell me where my sister is now!" his other paw raised ready to strike.
Luna landed behind Fox, both off them looking at the 6 foot monster, it spoke "Which one do you mean, Anubis`s daughter or the other one?" Fox growls intensified.
Luna took a step back in surprise a she sore something, a large 8ft jackal pony standing a few feet away from the demon, large golden head and neck pieces.
Fox noticed as well, releasing the monster, she ran back to the jackal, it spoke "I am surprised, this world to greatest hopes and both of you are monsters, I know both of you inside and out Princess Luna and Radiowave,- he paused, suddenly appearing in front of both of them, both them where sent flying into the trees,-Next time we meet both of you shall die"
Anubis and the monster disappeared into a swarm of locus, Fox and Luna both stood up.
"Ok, I don`t like this! Who was that? What was that? And how does he know us?" he asked Luna, Luna thought.
"When I was a filly my father told me stories, one of them was about the god of the dead, Anubis, he was described exactly like that jackal pony"
Fox gave an odd look "Right ok, so the god of the dead is looking for his daughter, and kidnaps Fluttershy and Scoo-" both of them looked at each other
"We have to find them both NOW!" she said taking flight down the trail with Fox galloping after her.
Scootaloo, Fluttershy and Zecora all galloped down the path of destruction, they had to get to a safe place, and only the princesses could protect Scootaloo from the monsters looking for her.
Then they sore Princess Luna flying towards them, she landed and all of them came to a halt, Fluttershy looked like she`d seen a ghost but then the sound of galloping paws echoed as Fox appeared, halting over the hill painting.
Both Luna and Fox looked at the small Pegasus filly in worry "Kid, your dads the god of the dead you know that right?"
Scootaloo was frozen, in fear, she`d through her real dad would be cool, like Rainbow Dash instead... a dog faced demon, well hopefully her mom would be nicer, hopefully. And right now she was trotting next to Zecora and Fluttershy.
Luna was also worried, she'd heard stories of Anubis, for her father old world, he was a jude of good and evil, but what was his purpose in Equestria, she had no idea, in the stories he was always the servant for more powerful beings but, know he seemed so powerful, It didn't make sense, and why is Scootaloo related to that beast.
But Scootaloo worries had dyed down a bit, but unfortunately Anubis wasn't the only dog pony, Fox, the large fox/pony lead the group through the forest, to his den. He seem to know every tree and rock, the fallen logs all had starches and burn marks on them, did he fight dragons in his spare time gong hoof to hoof with Princess Luna. He looked at the large hole in the side of a tree, only to jump through it, all of the other looked at the hole were he disappeared to "Come on it not going to hurt you" called the trottish accented mutant.
All of them fallowed after, with Zecora gong last, all of them didn't speak a word, until they started to slide down the old wooden slide it gave way to a massive cave, with structures and creatures milling about inside, all looked slightly squid lie with strange beaks and bright blue eyes, all of them seem to cower n fear at the sight of them.
Landing at the bottom, Fox seem to be talking to the creature in a series of clicks, all of them seem to go back to their daily lives, Fox smiled and looked at the others "Guys meet the Swelchers, a lost race that lives deep underground or in the deep ocean, after I came to the Everfree they found me and took me in, apparently they came from the old war, still trying to figure out what that means through" he said shrugging, he walked along the man tunnel of the underground complex, all of the Swelchers stayed away from the large claw dug hole, it was a shambles inside and out he smiled "Yeah, I know, but don't exactly get a lot of visitors here" he said as they entered.
A large pile or hay lay over a hard rock bed, with a small stump used as a table. Scootaloo, Zecora and Luna stayed in the man room, whilst Fox was dragged into a small kitchen by Fluttershy, she stared at her only sibling "You could have come home" she stated Fox gave her a sad look, good ear lowering slightly "You didn't need the stress, hiding your monster of a brother, come on I've heard and seen what you did, you can do things that make me wishes I had more kindness, do you really think I could ever come home and live with you, as nice as your friends are I know there reactions already, and i don't know about you by i don't want Rainbow to buck me in the face" he ranted, then he got back on topic "Anyway it not about me, the kid, Scootaloo, she the one in trouble, do you know anything about it"
Princess Luna was concerned, not just for the poor filly related to the undead jackal, but the fact that a hole race lived underground and no pony knew anything about, or did they? It didn't matter at the moment. What mattered is redding Equestria of that demon. Scootaloo herself, was terrified to find her natural father was a dog demon, that meant that she wasn't even a pegasus, but something else. It changed everything she knew about herself.
Zecora placed a hoof on the filly, the zebra gave a smile, she had to thnk long and hard of how to say her reassuring words "Do not threat, you have something he does not" Scootaloo looked into the zebra's eyes, warm and caring "What?" Luna looked at the pair she didn't know what the zebra would say but she knew it would be the right thing no matter what she said "Friends" Scootaloo gave a small smile, a happy smile.
Fluttershy left the kitchen, followed by Fox, he quickly walked out of his den, not speaking a word. He seemed angry about something. Fluttershy had a guilty look on her face, Zecora was about to leave but was stopped when Luna said "I will see about him, Zecora please, stay here, Scootaloo needs you" she said, Zecora nodded and Luna followed Fox.
Fluttershy sat down next to Scootaloo on the other side of Zecora. She tentatively asked "Scootaloo do you ever wonder about who you mother was?" she wasn't timid at all something was wrong, she nodded, Fluttershy smile only saddened, and so did the guilty look on her face.
Fox sat in a tavern, Luna entered, and pulled up the stole next to him, he sat silent, he face looking at his drink, it was brown and still, it reflected his green eyes, Luna coughed grabbing his attention, looking he was surprised to she her "Oh princess when you'd get here?" She didn't waste time in pleasantry she rarely did anyway "Why are you so sad? You look lie you've seen or heard something impossble" Fox took a deep breath, and took a swig of his drink. "Somethings just shouldn't be in the world, I'm one of them, so's Anubis, but I want to belong, I want to be apart of it, but what pony would ever be kind to me bar Fluttershy, I couldn't go to her because I was scared, I'm still terrified, if one of those ponies I put in prison finds out that she my sister, I would loose every single piece of who I used to be. So I ran from everything, until i came here, the night you returned, I sore my sister and her friends save you, I wished that it would work on me but, I'm stuck like this forever, but Scootaloo, she..."
Fluttershy spoke again "I know who your mother is, and that she loves you very much, she loved you so much that she knew she couldn't raise you, she watching over you right know" "She's dead?" asked Scootaloo. Fluttershy smiled "No, Scootaloo, I'm sorry" she said misty eyed.
Fox slamed his paw on the table "So when I find out that she been used like that, I snapped, everything changes now! Anubis my be a god but I don't care, he's power don't scare me, what scares me is his plans for Scootaloo."
Scootaloo looked at Fluttershy, confused "Dearest Scootaloo, you have a family to get to. said Zecora she looked at Fluttershy, a smile forming, today may have it good points after all.
"Mom?" she asked, Fluttershy just nodded. Scootaloo, eyes watered, hardly able believe it, Fluttershy pulled her daughter into a tight embrace. Scootaloo returned it, she finally had a family, and she liked it.
Luna placed a hoof on Fox's shoulder "I may not be an older sibling but I can see what you want to do, and trust me, we will beat Anubis and stop his plans for Scootaloo, That is a promise" Fox didn't smile, but you could tell he was smiling on the inside. And his brain began to think of a plan to get the attention of Anubis and his buddy.

Fox placed Zecora`s hood over his head "Remember, make a big ruckus as possible" he said to the lunar alicorn, she smiled and nodded, as she left the Everfree forest. 'All part of the plan' the canine thought to himself, he`d not steped paw in town in daylight for a long time and know he`d have to create a town wide panic, no problem.... hopefully?
Fluttershy, Zecora and Scootaloo all entered town together, away from the Everfree forest, so there where far enough away from the in sewing chaos. The plan was so simple yet so complex. That was always a mark of a scientist or a madpony, but 'He`d always been a bit of that' thought Fluttershy as knocked on the door off Twilight new home, the safest place in Ponyville. And was the best place to hide Scootaloo from Anubis. "Fluttershy? Zecora? Scootaloo? What are you 3 doing here? Everponies been worried sick about you Scootaloo! She rubbed the back of her head. "...Yeah I`ve had a weird day, found out who my Dad was, he`s not a cool a guy as I was hoping, listen he might have the slight possibility of being a homicidal maniac, so an we come in?" she asked, Spike just moved to the side, a dumbfounded expression on he`s face.
Princess Luna emerged from the shadows, with the hooded Fox following her, somehow they would have to create a kafuffle big enough and long enough to atrached Anubis and his entourage, and long enough for Fox to build a bomb, not a lot could do that, but first everypony must be in there houses or in a safe place.
"Citizens of Ponyville, return to your homes, a beast of the foulest of intentions is on it way as I speak!" the was the sound of a made scrabble then only 3 ponies other than Luna and Fox. The of the council of friendship. Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash.
"Luna get them away from here, I`ll destract Anubis, Ok?" Luna grumbled "Fox don`t was your time, you can`t stand up to him, you`ll kill yourself" Fox just raised an eyebrow "I already survived a nuclear explosion, I`ll be fine, trust me" He turned and sprinted away, "Alright change of plans" Luna stated to herself.
Fox ditched the hood, as he sprinted to the top of the town hall, he`d have to use some flame to attach the attention away from Luna. Firing a jet of green radioactive flame at the sky. All the ponies in there houses held there breath as the jet of fire exploded in the sky. Luna looked slightly impressed at the jet of green fire "Changelings?" a voice called next to her, "It could be a really angry Spike, or his had a bit to much hot sauce" said Pinkie, Rainbow just looked ticked "No! I think it the thing that needs a flank flailing!" she was about to take off when a voice echoed behind her, it sounded like fingernails on a black board. "No, I believe your dear princess through it was me she was refuring to. Wasn`t it princess?"
Spike blinked as he let the information sink in "So your Dad, is that God of Death, and your her mother?" he asked looking between Fluttershy and Scootaloo, they both nodded, Spike just blink, then looked at Zecora "So how are you involved with this?" Zecora just smiled and shrugged, she wasn`t to sure herself but she`d would do anything to help a friend. Then Spike looked thoughtful for a moment "Wait your basically a combination of death and kindness, how does that work, 'I will kill you kindly'?" Spike got a harsh look from Fluttershy, he just smiled slightly, kicking his foot.
A green light flickered in the sky, bright enough to obscure the sun, the town was bathed in a green glow, then it stopped, as they looked for the source they found the orange spec on the town hall spire, it was pointing at something in the market, his voice barely reaching their ears. "I`m the one who should be dead, so come and finish the job!"
Fluttershy and Scootaloo looked panicked "That not the plan, he was supposed to build the magic nullifying bomb, not fight Anubis!" Spike looked at the x-element of kindness "Bomb?"
