The Big Day Approaching
This story takes place before the Equestria Games, the night after Testing Testing 1, 2, 3 and a week before the season 4 finale.
"Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! The day's almost here!"
On the night after Rainbow Dash passed the Wonderbolt test earlier today, Alucard Shade was hopping nonstop. The reason why was because the day of the Equestria Games is drawing closer, and he was ecstatic.
"Calm down, Alucard Shade." A motherly voice said in a kind tone. It was Divine Star, the purple alicorn who mysteriously spirited away twelve orphan foals- including Alucard- without a trace. That was, until Princess Luna noticed it and informed Celestia of what had happened while Nyx heard her song as she was sleeping. But Divine Star actually counted on the discovery to happen, because she was making her appearance known in Equestria, just a bit. She and the twelve orphan foals- known as her Children of the Night- knew that they cannot reveal themselves yet. But deep down, they all knew that the peace and order of Equestria must be protected at all costs, which was why they had been staying hidden from the sidelines, soon to make their full appearance in the future. Since then, they had noticed some notable events that had happened, like when they all noticed Fluttershy's beautiful singing in the Ponytones, and all of Divine Star's children love her for that. Divine Star and her children also took note about the history of the Wonderbolts, in more ways than one- Twilight's teaching, Fluttershy's play, Pinkie's rap, Rarity's fashion and Rainbow's monitoring.
"I know you're as excited as your brothers and sisters for the Equestria Games as much as I am." Divine Star said, "But we all must be patient. When that day comes, we will go and watch."
"Yes, mommy." The black pegasus foal with the white muzzle, mane and tail said as he calmed down.
"Mommy, are Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy going to participate in the Games?" A pink earth pony foal with a long and pretty purple mane asked.
"Of course they will, Carrie Pink," Divine Star replied, "to represent Ponyville."
"That's great!" The pink filly, known as Carrie Pink, exclaimed happily.
"Oh, I always wanted to see Rainbow Dash and her awesome speeding skills!" A red unicorn foal with brown hair exclaimed eagerly as he levitated himself with his magic and flew around the room in fast speed like Rainbow Dash could.
"Yeah, and Spike the hero, too!" A blue earth pony filly with a dark blue mane and tail added with a smile, thinking about Spike, the dragon who gave Princess Cadance the Heart Crystal at the Crystal Empire to help defeat the evil King Sombra.
"I hope he could handle the responsibility of it in front of all ponies." A dark yellow earth filly with a brown-and-dark-gold mane said in concern.
"Me too, Samantha Dune." A dark green earth foal agreed, "After all, mother did tell us about one thing called stage fright, which is natural."
"Don't worry, Igor Tech." Divine Star said, "I'm sure it will all work out for him in some way. I can feel it. After all, I am as wise as Princesses Celestia and Luna themselves."
"You're right, Mommy." The dark yellow filly, Samantha Dune, said with a smile.
"And we're glad you picked us up from the streets." A silver pegasus foal with an orange mane and tail commented out loud, "We were always getting cold and hungry."
"We had nowhere else to go or somepony to care for us." A violet unicorn filly with a magenta mane and tail added.
"And now, here we are, together like a happy family for a long while until the time is right." Divine Star said with a nod.
"Yeah, it'll be exciting to meet Princess Twilight, her friends, Spike and the Cutie Mark Crusaders." A blue unicorn filly with a bright blue mane said with a nod.
"Yeah, but I still can't wait to see the Games, and I want Ponyville to have the most medals than anypony!" A red pegasus filly with a blond mane and tail said with a grin.
"Me too!" The rest of Divine Star's Children of the Night exclaimed in unison and excitement.
"And we will see the Games when the big day comes." Divine Star nodded in agreement with a kind smile, "But we are not the only ones who are looking forward to them."
"Who else?" asked a tumbleweed-colored pegasus foal with an orange mane and tail in curiosity.
"The Clone Six." Divine Star replied.
"You mean Princess Solar Moonlight and her five friends whose destinies are the same as their counterparts, only it was no mistake?" The dark brown unicorn foal with a blond mane and tail asked in surprise.
The purple alicorn mother nodded in reply as she said, "That is correct, Murray Spur."
"Wow!" The twelve kids exclaimed in amazement.
"Yes, I have been in contact with the six, and I have been teaching them an ancient method that was never seen in Equestria or Earth in modern times." Divine Star explained, "Certain points of it are forbidden, as humankind or ponykind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is the ancient method's first law of Equivalent Exchange. And that method is..."
"Alchemy!" The red unicorn foal with the brown mane exclaimed with a smile while raising his hoof. He knew what Divine Star was getting at since he and a few of his siblings have been reading alchemy books easily.
"Right, Quasi Meteor. Alchemy." Divine Star said with a nod of approval, "Because she has the powers of Twilight, Celestia and Luna combined into her, Princess Solar can not only be able to raise the sun and moon. She can learn alchemy, and her sisters can use it, too. Plus, thanks to Solar's magic, Equivalent Exchange is negated in alchemy, meaning that it can be used in any way without needing to sacrifice something of equal value. For instance, the Clone Six can forge weapons or develop objects with their alchemy."
"Can they do that?" Carrie asked in awe.
"Absolutely." The purple alicorn replied, "With Solar's magic, she can make any transmutation circle appear in a flash, big or small, and then do alchemy."
"They should do that while participating in the Equestria Games!" The blue earth filly exclaimed eagerly.
"No, Elvira Petal, magic is forbidden from use in the Games, because that's cheating, which means alchemy can't be performed either." Divine Star said with a shake of her head.
"Oh." The blue filly, Elvira Petal said in slight disappointment.
"That's okay, I'm sure Ponyville will win the games with or without magic." The violet unicorn filly said with a smile.
"Of course they will, Griffin Sonnet." Divine Star nodded at this, "Now, children, it's time to sleep."
"Yes, mommy." Her Children of the Night said in unison as they all tucked in for the night.
Confirming this with a nod, Divine Star was heading towards the door.
"Mommy?"
The purple unicorn turned towards the source of the voice, which was the red pegasus filly.
"Yes, Maretanna?" Divine Star asked in concern.
"I've been getting a really bad feeling." The red filly, Maretanna, confessed.
"Why, whatever do you mean, honey?"
"Remember that villain from Nightmare Night who terrorized Ponyville; Tirek?"
The purple alicorn got a serious look on her face as she replied, "Yes, the villain who used poor little Nyx as his pawn. I know where you're going at."
Maretanna's adopted brothers and sisters shared her concern as Alucard said, "We all feel the same as Maretanna, mother."
"Do you think we should help Twilight if Tirek were to come out and terrorize Equestria again?" The silver pegasus foal asked in concern.
"We will, Frank, we will." Divine assured the silver foal, Frank N. Stallion, "And we will make our appearance to Princess Twilight, her friends, her family and the Royal Pony Sisters soon."
"I sure hope so." Igor Tech said, "We really can't wait to meet Nyx."
"You will soon enough." Divine Star said with a smile. Then she headed off to the door as she said, "Now get some sleep, my children."
"Good night, mommy." Her Children of the Night said as they tucked into bed.
"Good night, little ones." With that said, the purple alicorn left the room and closed the door. Once that was done, a serious look got onto her face as the purple alicorn headed out to the balcony and stepped close to the railing, looking out to the horizon, gazing at the Canterlot, Ponyville, Cloudsdale and the Crystal Empire. Divine Star knew that all those places and everywhere else in Equestria will soon be at risk on the day Tirek makes his return. In fact, currently, nopony in any of those areas knew the location of her, her children and the castle they resided in; a floating castle hidden above the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters.
"Have you finished your training?" Divine Star asked aloud without even turning her head. Somepony had landed onto the balcony and stepped up to her. It was Princess Solar Moonlight of the Clone Six.
"Yes, we did, Divine Star." Solar replied, "We are now able to use alchemy with our abilities."
"Excellent." Divine Star nodded. Then she asked the yellow alicorn in concern, "Solar, are you certain Grimmore has released Tirek from his prison in Tartarus?"
"Absolutely." Solar replied in a serious tone. She was told by a special source that only she, her sisters, Divine Star and the Children of the Night knew about. She then continued explaining, "And somehow, Fanged Dahlia's soul and King Sombra's evil essence are extracted and will soon make their return, to join the Apocalypse Ponies as new members. I don't know how it's possible, but it will soon happen."
"Well, it's a good thing Pinkamena Pie- Golden Heart's sister- can sense practically any event that will soon happen." Divine Star said, "They're likely to sense Tirek's return, and when they do, I'm sure they will help Twilight and her friends. So you and your sisters better prepare yourselves, because that fateful day is fast approaching."
"Yes, Divine Star. I shall return." Solar nodded as she bowed to Divine Star before she disappeared with her teleportation magic.
With a nod, the purple alicorn resumed gazing out to the horizon before she looked up at the sky as she said in a serious yet angry tone, "If you release Tirek from Tartarus, you will regret it, because once Tirek gets vanquished, Ponyville will change for the better, and you will lose. You and your organization will lose. Mark my words… Grimmore." The purple alicorn said the villain's name she speaks of in a harsh tone as she narrowed her eyes, which began glowing white, intensifying the intimidation she has. It won't be long before the day the Equestria Games come, and after that comes the day Tirek makes his move on the ponies, and Divine Star will be prepared along with her Children of the Night and the Clone Six to help the Mane Six and their friends, for the sake of Equestria.
