A powerful wizard was kicked out of Equestria. But now, she's coming back to meet up with an old friend...

I was almost there. After years of travelling, years of training she was almost back. I had known much about magic, learnt too much some people would say. Bastards in Equestria, punishing me just for trying to learn more about magic. And learn more she did. But now she was almost there: she was almost back to Equestria.

I was almost there. After years of travelling, years of training I was almost back to my homeland. It had been 5 years since I had been there, all the while learning more magic. But now that I know how bad of a state it's in, I knew I just had to come back to see for myself. I had known much about magic, learnt too much some people would say. Bastards in Equestria, punishing me just for trying to learn more about magic. And learn more she did. But now she was almost there: she was almost back to Equestria.
As I snuck through the borders, many hardened pony soldiers were trotting about, not even paying attention to me. I walked through without trouble, and walked straight into the Everfree forest. I was looking for an old friend, someone who may be able to help her.

Right as I entered, she forgot the horrible stale smell of the place. It was invading my nostrils, but I fought through it and went on forward. I eventually came to a river, and heard a rustling to my left. Then to my right. Forward. Back. All around me, and I knew that I was in trouble now.

7 Minotaurs, wielding all kinds of spears, swords, clubs, and other weapons that were clearly not Equestria-Made, and wearing great big plate armor surrounded me before I could even realise what had happened. They got me down on my knees and readied their weapons.

"Well, what do we have here?", said the biggest one there was in a raspy voice. He was large, probably 3 times bigger then me, and he had pieced together armor on. He was wearing a red, bloody bandana, and was wearing an eye patch. "Give us all you got, else you have a bad time.", he said menacingly.

"I believe you should free me before one of you gets hurt", I responded matter of factly. He looked at me in confusion, and intrigue. "And how would you manage to do that, lil' missy?", he responded. "Let me show you", I said as I sent out a gust of wind, sending them flying. I turned to one of them, with brown fur and a brow glistening with sweat. He was wielding a large axe, made of black metal that looked unfamiliar to me despite how far out from Equestria I'd been. and turned his axe into a giant snake, which bit him in the neck and poisoned him.

I turned to see another getting up, and I turned the ground underneath him into a large pit of water. The weight of his armor dragged him into the bottom, drowning him. I turned only to see the great large on charging towards her, a step away and then an axe fly into her torso. She went flying into the air, and cast a balancing spell, then used a spell to change her fall to another minotaur, and fall on his shoulder. With a loud, satisfying crack, she felt the bone underneath her break, and she pulled out a knife and slit his throat.

Three were trying to retreat, so I sent water flying at them and then sent a lightning bolt towards them. They all had a spasm, and fell to the ground dead. The massive minotaur was the only one left, and looking around at all his dead comrades, he took his axe and sent it flying into his stomach. Damn minotaurs. Minotaurs have always had great honor, and if they felt they failed there team would kill themselves. It was a great shame to lose your group. So I kept on walking.

I came to a clear spot. Thinking it would be a good place to stop for the night, I collected fire wood and set it aflame with a spell. I warmed up by the fire, and toasted the bread from my backpack on it. After feeling fully replenished, I set out the fire and went to sleep under the stars. I thought I saw something flying overhead, but I took it as my imagination.

When I awoke, I felt groggy, and my eyes were blurry. I cleared them, and saw a large purple pony standing around near me. Startled, I cast a spell that constricted her movements. She tried to struggle but lost her balance and fell to the ground. I walked over to her. I recognized her immediately, and she me. I let the spell stop, and she stood up. "Twilight?", I said silently, already knowing the answer. "Trixie?", she responded.

We went outside, and a large orange pony wearing worn out guard armor heard our footsteps, and turned to us holding a shotgun. He re-directed it at me, and looked at his lover confused. "Twilight, what's going on here?", he inquired. "Put your gun down and I can explain. He hesitantly put down his gun. Twilight began to explain.

"I used to have sort of like a rivalry with Trixie. She was a 'wizard', who could barely do anything, but I felt strangely jealous of her. After being completely embarrased by me, she went on to learn more magic. She went all around Equestria, learning more magic, more then even I knew, and became one of the most powerful wizards in Equestria. But then, Princess Celestia felt like there was something wrong. She didn't want to be overthrown, or even be less powerful then any pony in Equestria, so she banished her. But why she's back, I have no clue. Could you explain that to me, Trixie?", she finished.

"You will learn in due time, but that is not the issue. Can we talk about this later? You managed to disturb my beauty sleep.", I chuckled. "Well, you're the same old Trixie, that's for sure", Twilight smiled. It was the first smile Flash had seen on her face in months.
