Twily's first PC
“The spell is too powerful!” shouted the purple alicorn, “I can’t hold the rift open much longer!”
Twilight Sparkle was standing in front of the portal. Her horn was glowing with great intensity. If she loses the control of the aperture, it would destroy the Library’s basement and Ponyville with it. Or worse, her best friend Pinkie Pie would be lost in between universes.
A few months ago, she was working on some of her experiments that involve inter-dimensional travel. After her ascension, she feels a power surge every time she cast a spell. It was difficult for her dominating the power of an alicorn. Because of this, the little princess became interesting in dominating some advanced spells, but she prefers to take it easy before causing a major disaster that could turn Equestria upside-down.
After checking one of the books from the section of Starswirl the bearded, she discovered something. The title of the book was “the existence of the parallel dimensions”. In their pages, she found a spell easy to cast but complicated to sustain. After enchanting a reflexive object, like a mirror, she could saw the multiple dimensions that exist outside her world. And those images, made her attention focused on a dimension similar to the world inside the magical mirror in the Crystal Empire.
This world was inhabited by slender hairless apes called humans. Apart from their hostile behavior, they were also known by their ability of tool making. She was astonished by the “level” of technology and her research turned into an obsession. One of the things that she tried to do is transport an object from their world to Ponyville, more precisely the Golden Oaks Library’s basement.
After a few attempts, she succeeded in bring something to her world. However, she brought a human to her world, instead of a basket of fruit lying on a desk. But her failed experiment ended well because Anon became one of the kindest beings that Ponyville have ever met, even when the first contact was very abruptly.
Twilight learned from the multiple mistakes and to accomplish her goal, she needed help from a pony who had experience in breaking the laws of nature. Pinkie Pie, one of her best friends was the indicated for the job, during one of Twilight’s experiments. She discovered that Pinkie can pass through the rift without problems, because of her funny law-breaking shenanigans.
Her current goal is to obtain a piece of human technology to analyze. Her eyes shined when she saw through her magical mirror a piece of cutting-edge technology. The humans call the artifact “computer” they also preferred “PC” as in personal computer. This piece of technology can make great advances in science. So both Twilight and Pinkie decided to bring this appliance to her world.
Right now, a strong wave of energy flowed inside the basement. But somehow, an energy feedback occurred, and the portal became unstable. The ground began to shake, and the furniture and some of the machines installed in the underground laboratory, fell down. The shockwave caused panic in Ponyville. And everypony ran to the hills, literally. If Twilight fails, the consequences could be catastrophic.
Meanwhile In the other side, Pinkie Pie was holding the appliance under her back. She made a quick move in grabbing the device and paying for it. Yes she paid it, with cash. And the cashier was very distracted that he couldn’t see the pink puffy-mane pony making her exit through the door. She is now inside the rift and the instability wasn’t a problem for her.
“Twilight, I know that you took my wallet for some of your little experiments…” Anon opened the door without knowing what was going on inside the basement, “Jesus, Mary and Joseph; what's happening here!?”
“Anon, quick help Pinkie!” Twilight shouted, “She’s inside the rift!”
“Ok!” The human ran down the stairs and jump through the portal without doubting.
He landed on the unstable energy floor and fell down instantly, because the road was shaking. Then he saw a pink pony approaching with a cardboard box over her back.
“Hiya, Nonny!” Pinkie greeted the human while she was sliding the waved-shaped energy road with her hooves.
“Pinkie, what are you doing with that box on your back!?”
“It’s something for Twilight; quick go to the portal, it’s going to close soon.”
And so the duo crossed the rift and Twilight Sparkle closed the portal, ceasing the tremors and the mayhem in Ponyville.
“Twilight, can you explain this!? Why do you want that box so much!? You could destroy Equestria with your little experiment!” Anon scolded the little princess, because her obsession 'almost' destroyed Ponyville.
“I know, Anon. But finally I… sorry Pinkie and I acquire the most advanced piece of technology from your world. The personal computer!” Twilight announced meanwhile her horn telekinetically opened the package revealing the black case of the computer.
“Um, Twilight… I think Pinkie picked an obsolete version.”
“What!? How do you know?” asked the worried alicorn.
“Because the label says: Intel inside Pentium 4. Is a very slow processor compared to the modern computers in my world” he explained.
“Pinkie” she said her name calmly, focusing her sight to her pink friend.
“Yes Twilight?”
“In what place did you get it?” her eyes revealed her anger.
“There was a store across the street which displayed a sign offering one of those thingies that you got obsessed at a low price.”
Pinkie said with eagerly.
Twilight’s mane burst in flames for a few seconds. Then she fell down to the floor, tired and sad. A single tear flowed to her face.
“My experiment… was a total failure” the little princess sobbed, as her friends approached to her, quietly.
“Twilight, you are a great alicorn.” Anon comforted her as he passed his hand over her mane, “You know, you could’ve asked me if you could have my pc. As a matter of fact, it’s a little bit advanced than…”
“Really!?” she raised her head showing sparkles in her eyes after hearing him.
“Is not very ‘futuristic’ that the others but is something.”
“Oh, Thank you thank you thank you thank you!” she started to jump with excitement.
And then both agreed to bring the computer to her world. Also, Anon would keep the old computer for his own purposes. He’s a little bit ‘obsessed’ with old things. The trio tried again the next morning. But this time, the results were very satisfactory. Twilight got her computer and something extra from Anon’s desk. Soon, she will realize that her experiments will begin… Eventually.
