Luna watched as her sister raised the sun from the balcony. Afterwards, Celestia came inside and saw Luna. “Good morning Luna, you’re not usually up this early.” Celestia said,

“I went to bed a little to early.” Luna replied groggily.

“I was going to leave you a note, but I guess I can tell you in person,” Celestia said, “I am meeting with Twilight Sparkle to discuss some important matters, I will be back before sunrise tomorrow.” With that, Celestia levitated a saddlebag onto her back and flew away. “Uhg,” Luna sighed as she walked back inside. “Is there something troubling you, Princess?” said one of her guards.

“No, I'm just going to take a walk in the garden.” she replied. When she walked out into the garden, some gardeners greeted her. She smiled back at them and continued into the garden. As she was nearing a corner, she heard a strange noise. She rushed around the corner, and saw a tall blue box slowly materializing a few feet in front of her. She decided to hide and see what would happen next. She jumped into a nearby bush and hid. As she peeked through the dense leaves, she saw a chestnut colored pony with a dark brown mane step out of the blue box. He turned away from where Luna was hiding and started talking. Wait a second, Luna thought, there’s another pony with him! She watched as a grey, wall-eyed Pegasus with a golden yellow mane fly up in front of the first pony. They were talking, but Luna couldn’t hear what they were saying. They both turned and started walking on the path that went right by the bush Luna was hiding in. As they got closer, Luna began to understand what they were saying.

“Alright Ditzy, we need to find out why the TARDIS brought us here.” The chestnut colored pony said,

“OK, Doctor!” replied the grey mare.

“We’re looking for signs of danger or doom that could effect the time space continuum or destroy the earth,” the chestnut colored pony said as their voices drifted off. Who were they? Thought Luna, That grey mare might be from Ponyville, I vaguely remember seeing a pony that looked like her, but I'm not exactly sure. Luna slowly climbed out of the bushes, trying not to make a loud noise. She walked up to the blue box that the ponies walked out of and tried to open it. To her surprise, the door easily swung open, revealing a large circular room with a giant pillar in the center. Around the pillar was a circular control panel that looked extremely intricate. How is it bigger on the inside, is this some kind of magic? Luna thought, and what does it do anyways? As she walked around the room, she started to hear faint voices in the distance, slowly getting louder. “Let’s hop back into the TARDIS and see if this time period is significant,” Luna immediately recognized the chestnut colored pony’s voice, “ And then we’ll… Wait, Ditzy, stop.”

“What is it Doctor?” the grey mare asked,

“The TARDIS… it’s open.” Luna hid behind the control panel. "You stay here Ditzy," said the chestnut colored pony, "I'm going to see what's in there."

"Be careful Doctor!" The grey mare warned. Luna could here the chestnut colored pony walking around.

"Ah, hello there princess Luna!" Luna jumped with fright when she heard the chestnut colored pony behind her. "I'm sorry, did I startle you?" He apologized, "Ditzy, come on in, it's just princess Luna!" the grey mare, which Luna now knew was named Ditzy, came inside.

"Oh hiya princess!" Ditzy said cheerfully, "What brings you to the TARDIS?"

"Well this machine just appeared in the royal garden," Luna said, "So I came to investigate."

"Are we in the royal garden?" The chestnut colored pony, which Luna now knew was called Doctor, said, "Interesting." The Doctor stared off into space,

"You still haven't answered my question," Luna said, "How and why did this machine appear in my garden?"

"Oh, oh, right," The Doctor said then started pressing buttons on the control panel, as he was doing this he said, "This machine, the Time And Relative Dimension In Space, A.K.A the TARDIS, is a time travel device. I travel around in it, saving the time space continuum from complete and utter destruction."

"But why did you come here?" Luna inquired,

"Sometimes the TARDIS takes me places that need my help without me telling it to. It brought me here because at this point in time, I need to save something. Do you know what it could be?" The Doctor said,

"Whoa whoa slow down," Luna said, "So you're telling me that this is a time machine,"

"Yup,"

"And you travel around, saving the universe,"

"Pretty much,"

"And it randomly dropped you here because you need to stop something from happening,"

"That's all there is to say."

"Wow."

"Doctor, what about finding out if this time is significant?" Ditzy asked,

"Oh yes, one second." He began furiously flicking switches and pressing buttons. "Ditzy, please close the door for me," The Doctor said,

"Okey dokey!" Ditzy replied and flew over to close the door. "Hold on!" the Doctor said as he flicked a lever. Suddenly, the TARDIS started shaking, and Luna nearly fell over before grabbing a railing.

"What's happening?!" yelled Luna,

"Science!" the Doctor yelled while laughing. As soon as the shaking died down, Luna recollected her senses.

"What in Celestia just happened?!" Luna cried,

"We just time traveled silly!" Ditzy said.

"Well where are we now? More importantly, WHEN are we?" Luna said,

"That pun is used way to many times Luna, but to answer your question, I transported us to Ponyville, so we could see if anything was happening there." The Doctor said. Ditzy walked up to the door and opened it.

"Uh, Doctor, I think something happened." Ditzy said,

"What is it Ditzy?" the Doctor looked up from the control panel,

"We're in space."

"WHAT?!?" Luna cried in horror. She ran over to the door and saw Earth as big as a beach ball. "OH MY CELESTIA HOW ARE WE GOING TO GET DOWN!!!" Luna screamed,

"Calm down Luna!" The Doctor yelled as he slapped her.

"Ow, thank you," Luna said,

"Alright now that we are calm, I think there's something wrong with the TARDIS controls." The Doctor said, "Luckily, I can transport us to the last place we were in before the transport." Luna grabbed on to the rail early this time. The shaking began, and Luna heard the Doctor shout, "Oh no! Ditzy! Close the door, but don't look outside!" Luna looked over and saw the door hanging open, and the time vortex right outside. Suddenly, she felt weird and woozy. A moment later, Ditzy closed the door.

"Uhn," Luna muttered before passing out.

Luna opened her eyes and saw a bright light shining in her face. "Ahg!" she cried,

"Oh! Look who's awake. Are you hungry? Ditzy made muffins." The Doctor said, "And her muffins are the best in Equestria!"

"Oh stop it you," Ditzy said, flattered, "I do make some great muffins though! Here, have a lemon poppy seed muffin." She handed a spotted muffin that smelled delicious to Luna.

"Ugh, what happened?" Luna finally mumbled.

"Oh, we were flying, and you passed out." Ditzy said.

"Well I know that, but what happened afterwards?"

"Not much really, I made some muffins, the Doctor pressed some buttons, hey, that rhymes!" Luna looked at the muffin and took a bite. Her teeth sunk in to the most fabulous sensational lemon muffin ever created.

"Wow, this is delicious!" Luna said, amazed, "Do you have any more Ditzy?"

"Of course I do silly!" Ditzy said, handing Luna two more muffins. Luna quickly inhaled the muffins.

"Alright, I landed us back in the royal garden." The Doctor cut in. Luna walked over to the door and pushed it open. She immediately stopped when she saw her filly self standing next to filly Celestia. Luckily, they were facing away from the TARDIS.

"Isn't it beautiful?" filly Celestia said, as she and filly Luna were looking out over Equestria, "We are going to rule all this one day." Luna quickly closed the door to the TARDIS and turned towards the Doctor,

"We're in the royal garden alright, but we're not in the correct time," Luna said, trying to stay calm.

"How can you tell?" Asked the Doctor,

"Well filly me is standing right outside with filly Celestia." Luna said, with a hint of sarcasm,

"Alright, I'll get us out of here." The Doctor pressed a few buttons and flicked a lever. Luna grabbed the rail, but nothing happened.

"What happened Doctor?" Ditzy asked the troubled doctor.

"I-I'm not sure," the Doctor said, "I set the time and place, but it refused to continue."

"HOW ARE WE GOING TO GET BACK!?!?!?!" Luna screamed, unable to hold her panic back anymore, "WE'RE STUCK HERE FOREVER!!!" She yelled.

"No we're not, just calm down," The Doctor reassured Luna, "I'll activate the TARDIS camouflage unit so they can't see us."

"But how are we going to get back to our time?" Luna asked,

"I can figure that out later, but for now, stay here, I'll try to find something out about this place." with that, the Doctor stepped out of the TARDIS and shut the door behind him.

The Doctor walked out and saw the two princesses standing looking out over Equestria. "Blimley, Luna was right," he muttered. Suddenly the princesses turned around.

"Who are you?" Princess Celestia said suspiciously.

"I uhh," the Doctor stammered, "I'm one of the new gardeners." He finally spit out.

"Alright, well those bushes need trimming, so get to it." Celestia commanded.

"Yes your magesty." The Doctor said bowing, then ran over to the bushes and acted busy. The princesses turned around and continued talking. whew, that was a close one, the Doctor thought. He slipped away toward the castle.

"What could he be doing out there?" Luna thought out loud.

"He's the Doctor, you never know with him." Ditzy said.

"Well he's taking a while." Luna replied.

"You wanna play a game?" Ditzy asked, "I know a few good ones!"

"Alright, what do you want to play?"

"Let's play some checkers!"

"OK, that sounds like fun, could you teach me how to play?"

"You don't know? Alright, it's easy."

The Doctor walked up to the back door of the castle. He saw a group of builders looking over some blueprints. They must be still building the interior, he thought, better check it out. He walked up to one of the builders. "So how's it coming?" The Doctor asked.

"Pretty good." The builder replied without even looking at him. The Doctor walked up to the massive doors. Where are we going to stay? he thought, we can't stay in the castle, but we'll have to go through it if we want to go anywhere else. And we can't risk coming in contact with ourselves from the past, the consequences may be dire. He looked for a way around. no way around. I guess we'll have to sneak through somehow. That will be hard, considering Luna is pretty conspicuous. Better go back and tell them. The Doctor walked back through the garden and saw the two princesses walking toward him. He want over to a nearby bush and started pushing branches around.

"What seems to be the problem?" Celestia asked as they walked by.

"Oh, uhh, I, um, lost my clippers in this bush, and I'm trying to find them." The Doctor stammered. Celestia's horn began to glow, and a pair of hedge clippers rose out of the bushes, surrounded by a yellow aura. "Thank you princess." The Doctor said and began clipping the hedges. The princesses continued walking by him. As soon as they were out of sight, he ran to the spot where the TARDIS was and began feeling for it. When he found the door, him pulled it open, startling Ditzy and Luna, who were enjoying a game of checkers. "I'm back," he said, "And we seem to have a problem."

"What is it Doctor?" Ditzy asked.

"There's no place for us to stay. We could stay in the Ponyville in, but we would have to go through the castle. Me and Ditzy could get through fine, but it's Luna in worried about." The Doctor explained.

"Can't we just stay in the TARDIS?" Ditzy asked.

"We don't have anywhere for Luna to stay."

"Oh."

"So what is your plan?" Luna cut in.

"I think we should find some train or cart that is leaving Canterlot and hide in it." The Doctor told her.

"Sounds good." Ditzy said cheerfully.

"Whoa whoa whoa, slow down," Luna said, "How are we going to find one?"

"Well we can't move the TARDIS, the controls are busted, so we need to figure out when they are bringing in supplies for building, then jump in the cart as it's leaving." The Doctor answered, "Let's get going." They slowly opened the door and snuck out, Luna crouching very low. As the approached the castle, they saw the two princesses. "Shhh, don't let them notice us." The Doctor whispered.

"We already knew that." Luna said, annoyed. They continued to sneak through the bushes until the Doctor stopped them. "What is it?" Luna said.

"Look, a cart full of hay." The Doctor said.

"How convenient!" Retorted Pinkie Pie.

"Alright, so we're gonna... Wait, where did Pinkie come from?"

"That doesn't matter, so what were you saying?" Luna said.

"Oh right, we're gonna wait until they unload all the supplies and then we're gonna hide under the hay." The Doctor said.

"Got it." They snuck up to a bush behind the cart and waited as it was unloaded. When the builders finished, they hopped in the hay.

"Now we wait," the Doctor said, "they should be leaving soon." Just as the Doctor finished, the cart began rumbling and shaking. "Aaand we're off!" Whispered the Doctor.

"Man, this cart is taking a long time," Ditzy said, "I think I'm going to get some rest."

"Me too," Luna added, "I'm a bit tired from all that time traveling."

"Goodnight girls," The Doctor said, "I'll keep watch."

"Wait there's one thing I want to see," Luna said.

"What is it?" The Doctor asked. Luna stuck her head out of the hay, and looked up at the cliff they were just on.

"That," She said, pointing at a figure floating in the air with a blue glow around them, "that's me raising the moon for my very first time."

"Who did it before you?" Ditzy asked.

"My parents did, it wasn't until the war between the Alicorns and the Draconi that my parents disappeared, as well as the rest of the Alicorns, leaving Celestia and I to raise the sun and the moon." Luna replied, tears welling up in her eyes at the memory of her parents.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Ditzy said sympathetically.

"It's all right," Luna said, now full on crying, "everyone dies sometime."

"I remember when my people died," The Doctor said, staring into space.

"You have a race? I thought you were just a mad colt with a blue box." Luna said, claiming down to listen to The Doctor.

"No, I am part of a race of ponies called time lords. We are immortal. But when my people were thrown into a thousand year war with the Daleks, we were forced to put our planet into a time paradox, removing it from the space time continuum. I was the only survivor." The Doctor said, looking down at his feet.

"Oh, now I feel bad for both of you," Ditzy said. Suddenly the cart stopped, snapping them out of the trance they were in.

"Ah, we must be here! That was fast!" The Doctor said, poking his head out of the hay, "Alright, now let's sneak out and find an inn or something." They slowly climbed out of the hay and behind a nearby line of trees. "First, we have to figure out where we are," he started, "judging by the time of day and the shadows, we are south west of Canterlot, soooooo," he said spinning to look at the small town behind him, "we must be in the first settlements of Ponyville!"

"Where do you think we could stay?" Luna asked.

"I hope by now they have and inn of some sort," The Doctor looked at Luna, "Wait, you look to obvious in those royal garments, we need to get you some better clothes. Also you get to choose, do you want to be a Pegasus or a unicorn?"

They were looking around town, Luna got a lot of questioning stares, but the ponies decided they saw weirder and continued there daily activities. "Let's check the road that the inn is on in our time." The Doctor suggested.

"You don't say?" Luna said sarcastically. They walked down the road and saw a small building where the inn was. The Doctor walked up to the door and knocked on it. A young green mare came to the door.

"Well hello there," she said in a deep southern accent, "welcome to the apple family inn! The name's Granny Smith!"

"Pleased to meet you, Granny Smith," the Doctor said, "we would like to stay here for a week or two, do you have any rooms open?"

"Of course we do! Right this way." She walked inside. The Doctor looked at Luna and Ditzy. They both nodded and walked in after Granny Smith. They went down a hallway full of doors and Granny Smith opened one that was at the end. "This room should be big enough!" She said cheerfully, "Come to me with any questions or concerns, have a nice stay!" Granny Smith walked back down the hallway to the lobby.

"Better go in to check it out." Ditzy said.

"Good idea." Luna replied. They walked into the spacious room and looked around. "Wow, pretty big." Luna said.

"I call this one!" Ditzy shouted and jumped onto the large bed in the middle.

"We better settle in for the night." The Doctor said getting on the couch.

"I guess I'll sleep here." Luna said, laying down on the last bed, "Goodnight everyone."
