The Horseman

Prologue

A groan escaped a white unicorn stallion, his mane pure blue with a darker streak along the end, his cutie mark was the Orion's Belt constellation with sparkles around it, it shows how he knows a great deal of constellations and the sparkle around shows how he knows a fair amount of magic. He groaned and looked at the white Pegasus pulling the carriage. He looked away. "Is everything okay sir?" the white Pegasus stallion pulling the carriage to Ponyville asked taking note of his groan. The stallion like always blanked out.

"Huh?" he paused for a moment processing the question. "Oh, yes I'm fine," he let out a disappointed sigh. He spoke under his breath: "I'll miss you, Canterlot,” he looked back at the incoming town.

"Okay, just wondering," the guard went back to flapping his wings. The stallion rubbed his hooves together. The day wasn't going too well.

Flashback

"Oh c'mon," the young stallion crossed his hind legs in anger.

"Look, honey, you are going to make a great pony in Ponyville, you... just need to get used to it," the stallion's dark blue mother stated.

"C'mon, I'd rather be with Blueblood then go to Ponyville, everything is done by... hoof who does that!?" the young stallion flailed his forearms in the air as though using hooves for things is such a bad thing.

"Solar Flare, you listen to your mother," a white pony walked up.

The stallion gave a displeased look. "Well, I don't want to, I am just going to get dumber," Solar Flare protested.

"No, you are going there, if you don't I'll ground you," the mother threatened.

The stallion rolled his eyes. "I'm twenty-one, I can't be simply grounded," Solar Flare blew hair out of his eyes.

"YOUR GOING!" the mare snapped.

"Fine, mommy, I'll go, but why now, why mom?" he accepted defeated.

The mom smiled smugly. "Good, now go get ready, the carriage is waiting," the mother told him a faint blue aura grew around the young stallion's body.

"Hey! I can walk mom! I am a special unicorn after all!" the young stallion known as Solar Flare hissed at his mother.

"I know, I saw the potential, remember?" the mare turned away to let her son get packing. The stallion started to pack his things.

The stallion gave a sigh as he saw Ponyville. "Watch out Ponyville Solar Flare's coming," he joked still watching the town draw nearer and nearer.

Solar Flare saw the carriage stop. At least mom got me to get here in time for night. A smile grew on his face slightly. He saw the first snowflake drop from the sky. He immediately rummaged through his white and black saddlebag aligned contumely designed to have basically all the constellations. "Wow, neat saddlebag," a female voice said. He glanced at the voice. There she was, the cutest mare he had ever laid eyes on. With her lavender coat, her two color purple mane flowing in the wind.

He stared at her for a moment before her comment finally fazed him. "Y-Yeah, i-it's c-custom, f-from P-Princess L-Luna," he struggled to say to the most lovely mare he had ever laid eyes on.

The lavender mare's eyes lit up. "You know Princess Luna?" she asked puzzled she had never seen him before.

"Y-Yeah, I-I-It's complicated, can we not t-talk about that?" he begged he doesn't like to talk about his relations with the royal family.

The mare understood. She nodded. "My name is Twilight Sparkle, I run the library in Ponyville, what's yours?" she asked.

"Uh... I'm named Solar Flare, I uh... I just got out of 'Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns'" he doesn't really like bragging.

Again Twilight Sparkle's eyes lit up and widened as wide as a saucer bowl. "You went there too?!" she jumped to the stallion. It almost gave him a heart attack. A chill ran down the stallion's spine it quickly spread to his hooves and neck. He grabbed his scarf from his custom saddlebag. It was the same such design as his saddlebag with the constellations around it. Except it is a dark blue blackish color. Solar Flare began seeing the constellations in the sky. "Hey, there's Orion's belt," he pointed at the sky. She squinted at the sky to try to find it she can normally say it for sure.

"I-I can't see it," she admitted.

A few moments of silence was called upon. Solar Flare pointed at the constellation. "See?" he asked again.

"Yes," she saw the stars aliening with each other.

He smiled and got in front of her. A blush grew on his face. He did try to hold it back but it failed. "So, you're new in town right?" Twilight asked, "be careful, one of my friends who is named Pinkie Pie will want to throw you a welcoming party," she said after looking around slightly making sure no unwanted pink pony was listening.

"Thanks for the tip," he shook her hoof. He walked away. A loud sigh left his mouth. He had never, in all his life seen a mare like her. He went to his new house who is he is renting to? He walked to the house, it was odd, and it looked like a giant cupcake. He went inside. "Uh... hello?" he glanced inside. He knew they had children and another mare staying with them. "Is any-pony home?" he asked still walking around the house. Behind him a cushion moved. He looked back nothing was there. He chuckled at his own paranoia. When he turned back a pink pony was in front of him. "Hiya, boo," she made him jump back. He rubbed his aching back from the slight fall.

"OW," Solar Flare groaned and began getting up. "What was that for?" he got up muttering to himself.

The mare chuckled embarrassed a bit. "Oops, sorry, that was by accident," she said hoping for forgiveness. He was still a little angry but... well; he is a 'forgive and forget' type.

"I accept your apology," he accepted the mare's extended hoof. "Name's Solar Flare, what's yours?" I asked not thinking.

"My name's Pinkie Pie! I'veneverseenyoubeforethatmustmeanyournewbecauseIknowevery-p-" Solar Flare covered her mouth with his white hoof. He took it back after a moment. He scrunched his face. "Did you lick my hoof?" he asked disgusted in the action.

"You had hot sauce on your hoof," she said in her defense.

He sighed. "Okay, whatever, is Mister and Ms. Cake around?" he asked maybe this pony has seen them.

"Yeah, their upstairs," she pointed. He walked upstairs.

Solar Flare walked up to door. He knocked. A bright yellow stallion opened the door. "Hello? Oh, are you our new foalsitter?" he asked the younger stallion.

He nodded. "Yeah, when do I start?" he immediately asked.

The light blue mare looked at me. "You start next week," the light blue mare responded.

The stallion walked off and went into his room, being careful to lock the door so that crazy pink pony doesn't do anything.
