Derpy was in the kitchen making lunch for Dinky because it was her first day of school. She made Dinky a flower sandwhich and a muffin. She put it all in a brown bag and left the kitchen. She walked up the stairs into Dinky's room and saw Dinky sleeping. She sat herself right next to Dinky on the bed. She gazed at Dinky and smiled. She gently pushed Dinky's shoulder until she heard Dinky moan. Dinky opened her eyes and looked up at her mother while laying her head down. Derpy kissed her on the forehead and left the room to let her wake up. Dinky was in the kitchen making a bowl of oats for her and Dinky. Derpy heard Dinky walking down the stairs. Dinky entered the kitchen and Derpy handed her a bowl of oats.
"How did you sleep?" Derpy asked.
"Good." Dinky yawned.
"Good to hear. Do you wanna eat in the living?" Derpy asked.
"Sure." Dinky replied.
Dinky walked into the living and Derpy grabbed her bowl of oats and walked into the living to sit on the couch with Dinky. She looked at Dinky and saw the expression on her face that she was worried.
"Is something wrong my little muffin?" Derpy asked.
"I'm just nervous." Dinky said.
"What are you nervous about?" Derpy asked.
"Well it's just that. What if I don't make any friends on the first day?" Dinky said.
"Don't what if life. Just be yourself and i'm positive that someone will like you for being you." Derpy said.
Once they were done with their breakfast Derpy grabbed the bowls and put'em in the sink to wash later. Derpy grabbed Dinky's backup and filled it up with school supplies. Derpy handed it to Dinky and Dinky put it on her back. They walked outside of the house and Derpy put Dinky on her back and flew her to school. They arrived to the school and they stood outside of the school. The bell rung and all the fillies started heading inside.
"Have a good day at school and i'll pick you up once you get out okay." Derpy said.
"I will mommy." Dinky said.
"Goodbye my muffin." Derpy said.
"Bye mommy!" Derpy yelled while heading inside.
Once Dinky was inside the house Derpy flew all the way to work at the post office. The school had all the students meet in the cafeteria so they know the way to their new classroom. Dinky looked around and saw all the other fillies talking to each other. One of the students walked up towards Dinky and introduced herself to her.
"Hi my name is Bells. What's your's?" Bells asked.
"Hi Bells my name's Dinky said.
"Nice to make your acquaintence." Bells said.
"So what's going on?" Dinky asked.
"Beats me. This is my first day of school here." Bells said.
A speaker went off and all the fillies payed their attention to where the noise was coming from.
"Good morning every pony. My name is Ms. Cherilee and I will be assigning you all to your teachers. Now you will all line up in front of this desk here and I will ask your name and I will give you a map that guides you to where your teacher will be." Ms. Cherilee said.
All the fillies were lining up to the desk. Dinky got in line with her new friend Bells and they waited for their turn. When Dinky got up to the desk, Dinky received her paper. Ms. Cherilee was her teacher. She waited to see who Bells got and Bells got the exact same teacher as Dinky.
"Wow would you look at that. We both got the same classes together." Bells said.
"Wow what a nice surprise." Dinky said.
They both found their way to the classroom and when they got their they saw all the other fillies all lined up on the wall. So they both went to the wall with the others. Then, the teacher started to speak.
"Okay everypony. Now all of you will have to walk around and find a desk with your name on it." Ms. Cherilee said.
All the fillies scattered across the classroom to find their desk with their name on it. Dinky found her name on it and as a big coincidence Bells was sitting right next to her. 12:00. It was noon and it was time for the fillies to have lunch. Dinky sat with Bells in the courtyard while a lot of the other fillies played. Dinky pulled out her flower sandwich and muffin. Bells pulled out just a flower sandwich.
"You got a muffin with your lunch? Does your mom work at the bakery?" Bells asked.
"No she works at the post office." Dinky replied.
"So then what's with the muffin?" Bells asked.
"Me and my mom love muffins and once a week we both make a batch of muffins together. She made me this one muffin today because it was my first day of school." Dinky replied.
"What's your mom like?" Bells asked.
"She's funny, kind, sharing, and the best mother any filly could ask for." Dinky replied. "What about yours?" She asked.
"My mom works at an antique shop where she sells ornaments, bells, gift shop toys, and other neat little stuff like that." Bells replied.
"So what's her cutiemark supposed to be? An antique shop?" Derpy asked.
"Yep. What's your mom's cutiemark? I bet it's a mailbox isn't it?" Bells asked.
"No. It's a cutiemark of bubbles." Dinky replied.
"So what does it stand for?" Bells asked.
"It stands for her personality." Dinky replied.
"That's neat." Bells said.
They both started to eat their food until two fillies called "Silver Spoon" and "Diamond Tiara."
"What's this a muffin?" Silver Spoon picked up.
"Um yes. Would you like some?" Dinky asked.
"Oh no muffins are nasty." Silver replied.
"Have you even tried one?" Dinky asked.
"Not when that one idiot makes them. Oh what was her name, um Derpy Hooves." Silver said.
"Now why would you say that?" Bells asked.
"Well she's a big screw up and can't always pay attention to what she's doing. Especially with those eyes of hers." Silver replied.
Dinky started to feel rage forming inside of her.
"Oh yeah. Well my parents say never judge a book by it's cover." Bells said.
"Oh really you would get a book of an idiot with crossed eyes screwing everything up?" Silver snapped.
"Yes. As a matter of fact I would. In fact the only thing that changes you from every other pony is that fact because your parents are the richest people in Ponyville and everypony that follows you and your parents around just want your money instead of who you really are." Bells said.
"Why I never." Silver said.
"What learned a lesson from the middle-class." Bells said. There were a bunch of oo's going around the courtyard.
"Well we are out of here, right Diamond Tiara?" Silver asked in disgust.
"Right." Diamond replied
The crowd went away discussing about the humiliation that just happened to Silver Spoon. Dinky looked at Bells. Bells gave her a look.
"Is something wrong?" Dinky asked.
"No. I just wanted to let you know I know who your mother is." Bells replied.
Dinky started to feel depressed. "You do? How?" Dinky asked.
"When you told me that she had bubbles for a cutiemark and that her cutiemark stand for her personality." Bells serious look turned into a smile. "Gotcha." She started to laugh.
"What?" Dinky said in confusion. But her friend kept on laughing and once her friend was satisfied she began to speak again.
"It's Derpy. I just wanted to see your reaction if I just suddenly turned my back on you. But if you did take me seriously. I'm sorry and I hope we can still hang out." Bells said.
"It's okay on one condition." Dinky said.
"What would that be?" Bells asked.
Dinky smiled and shoved the muffin in her friends mouth. Bells took a bite and swallowed it. Bells gave her a look and then smiled.
"Don't do that again." Dinky replied.
"Okay." Bells looked at the bitten muffin. "Are you going to finish that?" Bells asked.
Dinky looked at the muffin and gave it to her friend. Bells took a bite out of it.
"Your mom really knows how to make a muffin." Bells said.
"She's the best. Pinkiepie is trying to compete with her in a friendly competition. But mommy always wins." Dinky said.
"That's why Pinkiepie should stick with cupcakes." Bells said.
"Exactly." Dinky said.
The school bell rung and the two fillies finished up lunch and head back to class.
2:50. The school bell rung and Dinky went outside with Bells and talked about how Bells humiliated Silver Spoon. Dinky stopped and looked around and saw her mother at the sidewalk waiting for her.
"Hey I had fun. I'll see you tomorrow." Dinky said.
"Sure thing. See you later Dinky." Bells said.
Dinky looked at her mother and her mother gazed at her child seeing that she has a new friend. Dinky ran up towards her mother and gave her a hug.
It has been three weeks after Dinky's first day of school. Derpy was making Dinky's lunch again like she's been doing everyday. She even adds a second muffin to Dinky's lunch for Bells. But since it's not her first day of school anymore. Dinky has to go home alone but she walks home with Bells everyday at the end of school. Dinky had her backpack ready and Derpy gave Dinky her lunch. They went outside the house and Derpy put Dinky on her back and flew her to school. Once they arrived to the school Derpy gave Dinky a kiss goodbye on the forehead and Dinky went to her classroom. Dinky walked inside the classroom and noticed that Bells wasn't in her desk. She found it odd because Bells is always at her desk before she is. "Maybe she's running late" Dinky thought to herself. She took a seat and waited for her friend.
The school bell rung and Dinky was a bit nervous without her friend being around. She felt vulnerable in the classroom. Ms. Cherilee walked in the door.
"Good morning everypony." Ms. Cherilee said.
"Good monring Ms. Cherilee." All the students greeted.
"Now today we are going to talk about addition and substraction." Ms. Cherilee said.
Dinky barely paid attention because she was worried that someone was watching her. She looked around the classroom and noticed that everypony was paying attention to the teacher. She quietly sighed and put her attention back to the teacher.
"Now can anyone do this question that I am writing on the board?" Ms. Cherilee asked the class.
Ms. Cherilee looked and saw three hands go up. Dinky was thinking about the question in her head. Once she figured out the answer somepony had already got the answer correct. Dinky wrote down the question in her planner that was on the board and the answer in case if she had to study it for later. While she was writing it down she felt something wet behind her back. She put her hoof on the back of her head and pulled out whatever was in her mane. She looked and noticed that it was a spitball. Dinky turned around and all the looks on everypony's face showed innocent. Dinky had suspicion that it would be Silver Spoon. But she didn't see who did it so she ignored it and payed attention to Ms. Cherilee.
"Now what happens when I have two numbers and put the subtraction sign in the middle of them. Then, the equal sign at the end and come out with a number that's less then these two numbers. Can anyone figure out this problem?" Ms. Cherilee asked the class.
All the students were thinking about the problem. Dinky started going back in her planner to see if there was anything that lead back to the subtraction problem. A student on her right side was poking her on the shoulder and gave her a note. Dinky looked at her and the student pointed her hoof at her.
"Me?" Dinky whispered quietly.
The student nodded. Dinky unfolded the note and it said. "Try putting one eye to the back of your head so you don't get wet from spitballs. I hear that's what your mother did when she was in school." Dinky read. Dinky looked at the student on her right.
"Who is this from?" Dinky asked in a whispered voice.
"I don't know. I was told just to give it to you." The student replied.
Dinky's suspicions lead towards Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara. She looked back at the note and slowly ripped it up.
Lunch time. Dinky sat alone at lunch today. She pulled out her food and saw the extra muffin that Derpy puts in her lunch so she could share with Bells. She looked across the table and saw nopony sitting there. She put the extra muffin the garbage that was right behind her. Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara walked up towards Dinky.
"Oh. Where is your little shiny knight in armor?" Silver teased.
"Did she forget your sword?" Diamond teased as well.
They both laughed. Dinky tried to ignore them but they wouldn't leave.
"Why do you keep on bringing those awful muffins to school? You know that muffins are gross especially if they're from your mother." Diamond teased.
"Good one." Silver said.
They both high hooved each other. Dinky was holding back tears. Students started gather around and watch. Dinky looked up and saw all the students watching them pick on Dinky. Silver Spoon picked up Dinky's muffin and threw on the ground and stomped on it.
"Why'd you do that?" Dinky asked.
"Because you don't need those gross things. Just admit it your mother is retarded." Silver replied.
"No she's not!" Dinky yelled.
"Oh yeah. Well why does that muffin of hers look like dirt?" Silver asked.
"Because if you weren't stupid enough to step on it and actually give it a try you would see that it's actually really good. Just like her personality." Dinky snapped back.
All the students started going "oh" at Silver Spoon. Silver felt threatened and slapped Dinky in the face. Dinky couldn't do anything because she didn't know what to do. The students were silent after the slap.
"Come on Diamond let's go somewhere to eat real food." Silver said.
"Right." Diamond acknowledged.
Dinky rubbed her cheek and saw all the students going back to what they were doing. Spreading the word that Dinky was slapped by Silver Spoon. Giving Silver more power then what she had. The school bell rung and all the students went inside except for Dinky. She waited until all the students left the courtyard. Once all the students were gone Dinky went back to class. Dinky entered the classroom and saw all eyes on her. She got in her desk and a note was on her desk. Dinky opened up the note. "It's not your fault that you were born from a retard." Dinky read the note. She ripped it up and took offense to the note. Ms. Cherilee walked in the classroom.
"Okay class I hope we all got full from lunch. Now let's continue from where we left off, shall we." Ms. Cherilee said.
Dinky didn't pay attention but she tried to look like she was so that the Ms. Cherilee didn't ask her why she looked sad.
2:48. School would be over in less than two minutes. Dinky was eager to get home. She didn't want to be at school anymore. Dinky thought she was safe at the school but she knew that she wasn't. The bell rung and all the students walked out the class. Ms. Cherilee said goodbye to all the students as they walked out of the class. Dinky walked out of the school and somepony grabbed DInky by the backpack and pulled her back. Dinky was flat on her back and Silver Spoon kicked her in the eye.
"Don't come back here ever again! We don't need anymore retards!" Silver Spoon yelled and ran off.
Dinky got back up and ran straight home. She was crying the whole way. She had to go through Ponyville and a couple of suspicious ponies tried to stop her. But she ignored them. She walked out of Ponyville and started to head down the road that led to her house. "Dinky what's wrong?" a voice asked her. She stopped and turned around. It was Rainbow Dash. Once she saw Rainbow she hid her face from her.
"What's the matter? Are you okay?" Rainbow asked. But Dinky didn't turn around.
Rainbow walked up to her and saw that she had a black eye.
"What happened?" Rainbow asked.
"It's nothing. I just want to be alone!" Dinky yelled and ran off.
"Dinky wait! Come back!" Rainbow tried to stop her. But she was already out of sight.
Dinky finally made it home and grabbed the key that was under the mat that said "Welcome". She unlocked the door as quickly as possible. Once the door was open Dinky put the key back under the mat and locked the door. Dinky went to the couch and started to cry.
4:00. Dinky was lying on the couch. Then, she heard a knock on the door.
"Dinky i'm home my little muffin." It was Derpy.
Dinky ran upstairs into her mother's room. Derpy unlocked the door and walked inside.
"Dinky are you home?" Derpy asked.
"Yes!" Dinky yelled back. She tried to cover up the black eye with her mom's makeup.
"Dinky why are you in my room?" Derpy asked.
"I'll be out in a minute." Dinky replied.
"Dinky come out here right now." Derpy demanded. Derpy didn't like to give orders to Dinky but she was worried about her.
"Please don't come in." Dinky said.
"I'm coming in there on the count of three." Derpy said.
"Please don't." Dinky pleaded. She found eyeliner and tried to put it on her other eye. But she kept on dropping it and kept on messing it up.
"One! Two! Three!" Derpy yelled and walked in the room.
"No don't!" Dinky yelled.
Derpy looked at Dinky but Dinky didn't look at her back.
"Dinky why are you in my room?" Derpy asked.
Dinky was quiet.
"Dinky why are you won't you look at me when i'm talking?" Derpy asked.
Dinky still didn't look.
"Dinky look at me." Derpy demanded.
"I don't want you to see me like this." Dinky said.
"Dinky please look at me muffin." Derpy pleaded.
Dinky sighed and slowly turned around. Derpy gasped and ran up towards Dinky to give her a hug.
"What happened Dinky?" Derpy asked.
"I...I...I didn't want you to see me like this." Dinky replied.
Derpy started to get teary and picked up Dinky and brought her down to the living room and they both sat down on the couch.
"Muffin. You know you can talk to me. Right?" Derpy asked.
"Yes." Dinky replied.
"Tell me what happened, please." Derpy said.
"Bells wasn't at school today. A filly slapped me earlier and at the when school was out she threw me to the ground and kicked me in the eye." Dinky said.
"Oh muffin." Derpy held Dinky in her arms and wrapped Dinky in her wings.
Dinky looked up at Derpy and saw that Derpy was crying. Dinky put pushed her head against Derpy's chest and started to cry as well.
"Why did they do it?" Derpy asked.
"They kept on making fun of you and calling you retarded. They called me retarded because they said that it runs in the family. After she kicked me in the face she told me don't come back. We don't need more retards at this school." Dinky sobbed.
Derpy started to think about the way she was. She thought to herself. "If I wasn't like this. My filly wouldn't be crying in my arms right now." Derpy thought to herself. Derpy looked down at Dinky and saw that she was still crying.
"It's okay muffin. Mommy's got you. I'm going to call the school tomorrow." Derpy said.
"Don't." Dinky said.
Derpy was shocked once she heard Dinky said that. She looked at Dinky with a confused look on her face.
"Why don't you want me to do anything about this?" Derpy asked.
"Because..If you....do then....she'll just keep...on....doing this to me." Dinky tried to speak in a full sentence but she kept on crying in her mothers arms.
"Dinky if I don't do anything then she will keep on doing this. She'll think that she has more power than you if I don't do anything." Derpy said.
"But what if....she keeps going?" Dinky asked. She looked up at Derpy.
Derpy looked down at Dinky and wiped the tears away from her eyes.
"It's going to happen. We can't control other ponies decisions. It happens to all of us at some point in our lives." Derpy replied.
"But...but." Dinky tried to say something but she was interrupted by Derpy.
"When these things do happen. We always talk about them. You can always tell me. I'll be when you need me." Derpy said.
Dinky put her head up against Derpy's chest again. Derpy put her head on top of Dinky's head. Derpy tried to calm her down with a song.
"Hush now little filly don't you cry, mommy's gonna make you alright, everything is going to be swell, don't you worry mommy's gonna make you well, there maybe bad people out there, but mommy's going to be there as well, so hush now little muffin, and don't you worry, mommy's going to turn frown upside down, I'll always be there for you, so when somepony gives you any trouble, mommy's going to be there on the double, so hush now little filly, and don't you worry, mommy's here." Derpy sang.
It's been two months since the black eye incident. Bells apologized to Dinky for not showing up to school because she was sick. Dinky kept on telling her it wasn't her fault. Derpy talked with the school about what happened. But all the school did was told Silver Spoon not to do it again. No suspensions, no detentions, nothing happened to her except for a warning. Derpy's still made at the school for doing nothing about the situation. Bells feels sorry for Dinky and Dinky is more scared of school then she was on her first day.
7:30. Derpy was getting Dinky's lunch ready for school. Dinky was getting her backpack ready. Derpy gave Dinky her lunch once she was done getting her backpack ready. They walked outside the house and Derpy put Dinky on her back and flew her to school like everyday. Derpy dropped off Dinky and gave her a kiss goodbye on her forehead just like everyday. Dinky went to her classroom and sat down right next to Bells.
"Hey Bells." Dinky greeted.
"Hey Dinky." Bells acknowledged.
"So what did you do during the weekend?" Dinky asked.
"Well my family just basically stayed home the weekend. They were really tired. More tired than usual if I say." Bells replied. "How about your weekend?" Bells asked.
"Well me and my mommy went down to the park and made muffins. We even had a muffin war." Dinky said with a smile.
"Dinky can I ask you something?" Bells asked.
"Sure what's on your mind?" Dinky asked.
"Why don't you ever mention your dad?" Bells asked.
"My dad doesn't live with us." Dinky replied.
"What do you mean?" Bells asked.
"Well mommy says that he was on his way to work and he never made it to work." Dinky replied.
"I'm sorry I mentioned it." Bells said.
"It's okay. You were just curious." Dinky said. Then, she smiled at Bells.
Ms. Cherilee walked in the classroom.
"Good morning class." Ms. Cherilee said.
"Good morning Ms. Cherilee." The class acknowledged her greeting.
"I hope you all had a good weekend and I'm sure you'll all have many more good weekends ahead of you all. Now let's begin class today with a warm up quiz." Ms. Cherilee said.
Dinky felt something hit the back of her head. When she turned around it was a paper airplane that said read me. Dinky opened up the paper airplane. "Another day another warning I have to give you. What do you not understand what get lost means? Are you as stupid as your mother or dumber?" Dinky read. Dinky ripped up the piece of paper and put it underneath her planner. She looked at Bells and Bells understood what the paper said. Then, Dinky put her attention back on the teacher.
12:00. Lunch time. Dinky and Bells were at their usual spot in the courtyard. Dinky took out her lunch and gave the extra muffin that Derpy puts in her lunch to Bells. Bells says tell your mother I said thank you. Dinky says I will. Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara walked up to them and Dinky sighed.
"You going to make fun of my mom or my muffin?" Dinky asked.
"Neither." Silver said.
Dinky looked at her. She was surprised when she heard that come out of her mouth.
"Then, what do you two want with us?" Bells asked.
"Oh nothing really. Just that I wanted to know something." Silver said.
"We want to know which reason really caused your father to disappear." Diamond said.
"We wanted to know if it was your mother or you who made him run away." Silver said.
"You know you two can walk away with those comments. Or i'll make you eat those words you just said." Dinky said.
Silver and Diamond looked at her. They didn't expect her to say anything. Silver smiled.
"Or what. Are you going to run to mommy to talk with the school. Even though the school doesn't do anything about it." Silver said.
"You'll find out if you keep that up." Dinky said.
"I bet it was your mom she kept on screwing up so badly that he couldn't stand her. Or it was you. Once you came out he ran away the first chance he got. Didn't he." Silver said.
Dinky hit Silver in the face and she fell back. All the students stopped and payed attention. Silver got back up and jumped on top of Dinky. Dinky shoved Silver off and Silver fell on her back. Diamond tried to step in but Bells grabbed her by the mane and threw her to the ground. Dinky got on top of Silver and started to repeatedly hit her until Silver shoved her off. Diamond hit Bells in the face but bells kept on hitting her back. Dinky got back up and hit Silver in the face. It gave Silver a black eye. Diamond grabbed Bells and threw her to the ground. Silver kicked Dinky in the left back leg. Dinky fell down and Silver kicked Dinky in the face. Dinky tripped Silver and started to punch her face. Diamond was repeatedly hitting Bells in the face. Dinky stopped kicking Silver and hit Diamond in the back of the head. Silver grabbed Dinky and threw her to the ground. Bells threw Diamond to the ground and hit Silver in the back of the head to return the favor for Dinky. Dinky and Bells stood side to side. Diamond and Silver got back up and started to approach them. Until all of a sudden a voice yelled out. "What is going on here!" It was Ms. Cherilee. She walked past all the fillies and saw the bruised and bloody little fillies.
"You four to the principal's office now." Ms. Cherilee demanded. They did as they were told.
Principal's office,12:30. Diamond and Silver were inside telling their side of the story. Dinky and Bells were waiting for their turn. Diamond and Silver walked out of the principal's office and the principal came out and asked for Dinky and Bells to come in. They walked in the principals office.
"Now you threw the first punch, is that correct?" The principal asked Dinky.
"Yes." Dinky said.
"And you helped her in this fight, right?" The principal asked Bells.
"Yes." Bells said.
"You two are very honest. But can you tell me. Why did you throw the first punch Dinky." The principal asked.
"Because ever since the beginning of the school year. Those two fillies have always walked up to us just to pick on me." Dinky replied.
"Like." The principal said.
"Like my mom. Because she has lazy eyes. They call her a retard for that. They make fun of my food and my personality and also the fact that i'm her daughter." Dinky said.
"What made you finally stood up for yourself today?" The principal asked.
"Well it was because....because." Dinky got teary eye.
"Here darling take these." The principal handed a box of tissues to Dinky.
Dinky took the box and wiped her face. "Because they talked about my dad today. They wanted to know." Dinky stopped and wiped her face.
"Tell me the exact words they said." The principal said.
"They said they wanted to know what made my dad leave me and mommy. They wanted to know if it was my mom or the fact that I was born. They said that he left us the first chance he got because of my birth." Dinky started to wipe the tears off of her face.
"After hearing that you threw the punch. Didn't you?" The principal asked.
"Yes. That's when I threw the first punch." Dinky replied.
"Bells can you tell me why you joined in on the fight?" The principal asked.
"I joined in on the fight because I felt bad for Dinky and also the fact that two against one are not good numbers. Also I didn't want to watch her get beaten. She's my friend and I would never abandon her." Bells replied.
"I see." The principal pulled out some files. "You two can wait outside the office. I'm going to call your parents and i'll have the nurse check you two out once she is done checking out the other two." The principal said.
The two little fillies walked out of the principals office and sat on the other side of the hallway. They tried to stay away from Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara as far away as possible. Once the nurse was done with Diamond and Silver She walked up to Dinky and pulled out a wet napkin and started to wipe her face with it.
"Ow." Dinky yelped.
"I'm sorry dear. It's gonna sting for a quick second for each cut I find." The nurse said.
Dinky had three cuts on her face. The nurse checked Bells and Bells had three as well. Once the nurse left they looked at each other and smiled. They both had one scar on the same spot. The scar was on their left cheek and was going sideways. A door opened at the end of the hallway. They both looked and saw a stallion and a mare at the end of the hallway. The stallion was wearing a tuxedo suit. The mare was wearing a purple dress. They walked up to Silver Spoon and all three of them went into the office. Once they were done the stallion and mare looked really mad. Silver gave Dinky a frown and walked away with her parents. Another couple came in. The stallion wore a tuxedo just like the other one. The mare was wearing a blue dress. They walked in the principal's office like Silver's family and once they were done the couple looked mad and Diamond gave Dinky a frown and walked away. Bells parents showed up at the end of the hallway. They didn't wear anything fancy. They walked up to Bells and Bells had a sad look on her face. Bells looked at Dinky. Dinky was worried about Bells. Bells walked in the principal's office with her parents. Dinky heard the door open and she looked down at the end of the hallway and saw Derpy in her post office uniform. Dinky put her head down and Derpy walked up to Dinky.
"What happened muffin. I got a call saying that you got into a fight." Derpy said.
"I..I." Dinky was interrupted when they heard the door open from the principal's office.
"Ms. Hooves can we talk to you once you are done speaking with the principal?" Bells' father asked.
"Certainly." Derpy replied.
They walked in the principal's office.
"Ms. Hooves. I called you in today because Dinky got into a fight today." The principal said.
"I understand that part." Derpy said.
"Now I wanted Dinky to tell you what happened." The principal said and looked at Dinky.
"Muffin remember when I told you. You can tell me anything." Derpy said.
"Okay mommy. Me and Bells were eating lunch like everyday. Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara walked up to us to do their usual tease me. But this time was different." Dinky said.
"How so?" Derpy asked.
"I asked them what today's discussion would be about today. They said it would be about dad. I told them that if they did I would make them regret it. They wanted to know if it was me or you that made dad run away. They said it was you because of your eyes. Then they said it was because I was born. Once I heard Silver Spoon say that I hit her in the face. Bells got in on it once Diamond Tiara joined the fight." Dinky said.
Dinky started to cry and Derpy wrapped her wing around Dinky. Derpy looked at the principal.
"Now we know that Dinky isn't the one who antagonized the fight. It was those two that Dinky mentioned. We know because we called in some students to tell us on what they saw. They all fit Dinky's story." The principal said.
"So what are we supposed to do?" Derpy asked.
"Dinky and Bells will be suspended for the rest of the week. Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara will be suspended for two weeks." The principal said.
"You can't suspend her." Derpy said.
"I already told Bells' parents the exact same thing as i'm telling you. I wouldn't have suspend her if she didn't throw any punches." The principal said.
"But how is she supposed to defend herself?" Derpy asked.
"I don't." The principal said.
"Come on Dinky we're done here." Derpy said.
Dinky stopped crying.
"Okay mommy." Dinky said.
They walked out of the principal's office. Bells' parents were waiting right outside the door.
"You wanted to talk?" Derpy asked.
"We wanted to talk about what happened today." Bells' father said.
"I understand if you are mad at me." Derpy said.
"We're not mad at you 'nor are we mad at Dinky. In fact we're glad that Bells stepped in to help her friend. But I our daughters to make an agreement here." Bells' father said.
"What would that be?" Derpy asked.
"Me and my wife talked about it and we decided that they can help each other out in fights but only if there are more than one person fighting. They shouldn't start fights just so they can do it." Bells' father said.
"I can agree with that." Derpy said.
"Then I think we've reached an agreement. You two are to help each other in a fight but only if there is more then one person involved and you two can't start the fight. Understood?" Bells' father asked Dinky and Bells.
"Yes." Dinky and Bells replied.
"Nice meeting you Ms. Hooves." Bells' father said. He put out his right hoof to shake Derpy's hoof.
"Please call me Derpy." Derpy said.
"And call me Space." Space said.
"Nice to meet you Space." Derpy said.
They all left the school and started to head home. Derpy put Dinky on her back and went straight home. Once they arrived at the house Derpy grabbed the key from under the mat and unlocked the door. Once they were inside Derpy put the key back under the mat and locked the door. Dinky sat down on the couch and Derpy sat herself right next to her.
"Mommy are you mad at me?" Dinky asked.
"No muffin i'm not mad at you. You made a mistake but all ponies make mistakes it's who we are. I wouldn't say that you did the right thing by fighting but I think I would have done the exact same thing is someone talked about you like that." Derpy replied.
Summer is almost here to the students. Bells and Dinky started sleepovers three months after their fight. They became closer and closer friends. They eventually started calling each other best friends. Derpy started to know more about Bells' parents and also Space got fired from his job. So Derpy helped him out by getting him a job at the post office. Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara didn't bother Dinky and Silver much after the fight. Everything was going good.
Last day of school, morning, 7:30. Derpy was getting Dinky's lunch. A flower sandwich and two muffins like everyday. Dinky didn't get her backpack ready because the school said that none of the students need it for the last day of school. Derpy gave Dinky her lunch and they headed outside. Like everyday Derpy puts Dinky on her back and flies her to school. Once they got to school Derpy gives Dinky a goodbye kiss on the forehead and Dinky heads to class. Dinky entered the classroom and saw a bunch of soda and cupcakes in the classroom. All the students were sitting down in their desks. Bells was in her desk waiting for Dinky to come sit right next to her. Dinky sat down next to Bells.
"Hey Dinky, you excited for summer?" Bells asked.
"I am excited for summer. I'm glad to finally get out of school." Dinky replied.
"Yeah same here. Hey maybe we can hang out more during summer." Bells said.
"That sounds like a great idea." Dinky acknowledged.
Ms. Cherilee walked in the classroom.
"Good morning class." Ms. Cherilee said.
"Good morning Ms. Cherilee." All the students acknowledged.
"Now I know this is the last day of school. So I decided to bring my friend Pinkiepie." Ms. Cherilee said.
Pinkiepie walked in the room with cupcakes.
"Hi everypony I hope you'll enjoy the cupcakes because I certainly do. It's not a party when there are no cupcakes." Pinkiepie said.
"Now we can't have any of these cupcakes until lunch. So for now we'll play some games. I brought board games today for everypony." Ms. Cherilee said.
"Make sure to thank Pinkiepie for the cupcakes." Ms. Cherilee said.
"Thank you Pinkiepie." All the students said.
"Your welcome." Pinkiepie said and then she left.
Ms. Cherilee put out a bunch of board games on her desk.
"Now everypony can come up with a friend and pick a board game together." Ms. Cherilee said.
Dinky and Bells walked up to her desk and chose checkers. They scoot their desks close to each other and started playing the game.
12:00, lunch time. Instead of going out to the courtyard like all the students in the class would do. They all stayed in the classroom and ate cupcakes and their lunches. Dinky only grabbed two cupcakes. One for her and one for Bells. They both enjoyed the cupcakes and the muffins that Derpy makes for them. Then, once they were done eating they went straight back to their game of checkers. They played the game of checkers for so long that they lost track of time.
"Okay everypony before we leave we gotta clean up this room. So the janitor doesn't have to do so much work. Make sure to return the board game and all the pieces that go with the game back to the desk." Ms. Cherilee said.
All the fillies cleaned up the room and put away all the board games. Dinky was actually happy on the last day of school she didn't get bothered by Silver Spoon or Diamond Tiara and she got to play with her friend Bells all day. 2:45. All the fillies were in their desks talking to each other.
"How are we supposed to keep contact of each other while we're gone?" Bells asked.
"Don't be silly. My mom works at the post office with your dad. I'm pretty sure I can write a letter that can go to you and my mom will give it to your dad and your dad will give it to you." Dinky said.
"Oh right. I almost forgot about that." Bells said.
They looked up at the clock it said 2:49.
"One more minute and we'll out of school for two months." Dinky said.
"I know right. No Silver or Diamond walking around going." Bells made a mock face of Spoon and her voice. "I'm Silver Spoon and I despise anything that doesn't look clean and dazzle." Bells mocked.
Dinky giggled and then tried to mock Diamond.
"I'm Diamond Tiara and I follow Silver Spoon around all day saying nothing and always making a frown face whenever Silver does because I got nothing better to do." Dinky said.
They both laughed at each others mocks. Then, the bell rung and all the fillies ran outside except for Dinky and Bells they walked outside. Once they were outside the school they walked together until they've reached the entrance of Ponyville and that's where they had to take two different roads.
"I'll see you later?" Bells said.
"Yeah I guess so." Dinky said.
"Try to see with your mom to see if it's okay for us to spend the night at your house and i'll ask mine." Bells said.
"Okay." Dinky said.
They gave each other a friendly hug and walked down their roads to their own homes. Dinky got to her house and unlocked the door with the key under the mat. She walked inside and it was all dark. Dinky put the key back and locked the door and flipped her lightswitch. Once she turned on the light a muffin hit her in the face. It was Derpy she had a sign on the kitchen door that said "happy summer".
"Hi muffin, did you have fun on the last day of school?" Derpy asked.
"Yes I did. Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara didn't bother me or Bells today and me and Bells got to play checkers all day. Also Pinkiepie brought in cupcakes for the class." Dinky replied.
"Sounds like fun but do you know what's even more fun?" Derpy said.
"What?" Dinky asked.
"Muffin fight!" Derpy yelled and started throwing muffins at Dinky. Dinky grabbed some of the muffins and threw it back at Derpy. They played Muffin fight for about thirty minutes and then they started to clean up.
"Hey mom can I ask you something?" Dinky asked.
"Sure muffin." Derpy replied.
"Can Bells come over and have a sleepover today?" Dinky asked.
"Sure if it's okay with her parents." Derpy replied.
Then there was a knock on the door. Derpy answered and Space was at the door with Bells.
"Hey Derpy, Bells was asking me if it was okay for her to spend the night here with Dinky and I was checking in with you if it was okay." Space said.
"It's perfectly fine. Don't worry i'll take good care of her." Derpy said.
"Thank you Derpy." Space said.
"No problem." Derpy said.
Space left and Bells came inside. Dinky greeted Bells with a hello hug.
"What do you want to do?" Dinky said.
"Muffin fight." Bells said.
Derpy shoved a muffin in both of their mouths. They both laughed and Derpy started to laugh too.
"I'll let you two play. I'll be in the kitchen making us some dinner." Derpy said.
"Okay mommy." Dinky said.
Dinky and Bells sat down on the couch and started to talk. Derpy peeked her head out of the kitchen door and smiled.
