A mind swap between the mane 6 that causes them to see each other's point of views on life. When they go and see Celestia and sent to a secret bunker in the everfree, they get ponynapped and now they have to get back.
Twilight being excited about casting a spell that should be fairly complicated for unicorns, is actually quite simple. But when scared and accidentally sending too much power into the spell when showing it off to her friends, it alters the spell just enough to mind swap all of them. With all of them scrambling to figure out what to do, they go and seek guidance from Celestia, she finds no cure from memory or in her books. She asks the pony's to leave to a secret base that she has in the Everfree forest that she uses for research on strange spells and effects the spells have on ponies. While staying there, things go wrong and now the Mane 6 don't know where they are, so now they have to find their way home. Not knowing the dangers at all of the new mysterious land, they travel to find out where they are, and who ponynapped them.
It was a wonderful morning in Ponyville, the sun was shining, birds were singing, and everything seemed to be just fine. For Twilight, everything was fine, she was doing one of the things she loved best, studying new spells. This time around, she found a levitation spell that after casting wouldn't require any more of the user's magic, but the spell only lasted for a few hours. So she decided to try it out on herself, seeing that it was a harmless spell.
As she studied the spell over and over, she memorized it enough that she felt confident that she could cast it now. Closing her eyes and concentrating, she cast the spell, taking less than she imagined and now she was hovering a few inches off the ground, she was so happy. She then tried to steer herself by angling her hooves backwards. She was gently pushed forward, and of course, the more angled her hooves were, the faster she went. Next experiment, moving up and down, which would be tricky considering she couldn't just angle her hooves like before. Then an idea popped into her head, why trying thinking up and down while focusing her powers on the new spell she had just cast. It didn't work, and being well prepared, she had another idea ready as a back up.
Sticking her tongue off to the side, she added more power to the spell, and she started to float up higher and higher. She then cut the connection and she then began to gently float down back to a couple inches above the ground. Pleased with herself, she thought what better way to show off this new spell to her friends than to go to them like this.
So, she went to her door and opened it up with her horn and off she went, moving really fast. Fast enough that it might have made Rainbow Dash actually try to keep up. Quickly coming upon her first stop, SugarCube Corner.
Once at SugarCube Corner, just before entering, she got a great idea and make it a surprise. she slowed herself down to a halt and carefully maneuvered herself through the door and to the counter where Mrs. Cake was putting in the today special, which was a new recipe they have been trying out, but they never actually told anypony what is was. It looked like a type of cake, a really good cake that upon sight made Twilight's stomach growl. As she approached the counter, Mrs. Cake looked up and gave a big smile and began by saying, "Morning Twilight, how may I help..." she trailed off.
"My, why deary you are hovering above the ground, how did you do that?" Mrs. Cake exclaimed.
"Well it was simple magic really, didn't require a lot of power and it last a few hours, I was going to show it to all of my friends, as a surprise at the library, can you please give a message to Pinkie to stop by the library at around lunch."
"Sure deary, but how are you going to tell the others without them knowing?"
"Oh, it will be rather easy, I have my ways." Twilight said with a wink.
"Okay then, I guess I will see you around then, oh I can't wait to hear how Pinkie is going to react to this, for that, why don't you have a slice of the cake that me and Mr. Cake have been working on."
"Well, okay, thanks for the cake, what kind of cake is it?"
"That is going to be a surprise when you take your first bite, see if you can guess."
"Well then, bye." Twilight said leaving with a slice of cake levitating in her grasp.
Next stop would be Fluttershy's cottage, after she dropped off her cake at the library into the fridge.
Once at Fluttershy's cottage, she took a look inside to see if anyone was home, and as she expected, she was away to tend to her animals out in forest. After double checking, she knocked on the door and Angel answered, Fluttershy's pet bunny. Looking somewhat annoyed, the bunny was tapping his foot quickly like he wanted to go back to bed. Twilight quickly asked if Angel could let Fluttershy know to come to the library for lunch. Angel rolled his eyes and nodded his head yes, and with one quick motion, shutting the door in Twilight's face. Checking her nose to make sure it didn't get smashed she then went after Sweet Apple Acres to give AppleBloom her message to give to AJ.
Zipping fast and being sure to not be seen by any of her friends, she quickly got to Sweet Apple Acres in no time. Once nearing the front side of the barn, she slowed down to a stop so as to take in her surroundings and make sure AJ was not around to see her. Thinking to herself, Twilight realized that she just had easily shut the spell off and went around telling her friends by walking without having the risk of ruining the surprise. Well, she didn't want to stop hovering and she now finally understood, well mostly, why Rainbow liked flying. She took another peek around and using another new spell she learned about a month ago, she took a quick heat detector spell to see as to who was in the barn she was next to and the house right off to the left of the barn from where Twilight was. The spell found no pony in the barn, and in the house was only Granny Smith in the kitchen and Apple Bloom setting the table. She can only guess that Applejack and Big Mac grabbed a quick breakfast to go collect some apples for the market. Wednesdays were always the days that Applejack went to the market to sell her family's delicious apple's. Twilight quickly took another scan and still no Applejack within the vicinity. She then hovered to the front door and knocked on the door. To her relief, Apple Bloom came to the door and after getting a quick glimpse at who was at the front door, her mouth just fell right open. Twilight chuckled a little and dove right on into the surprise she had for Applejack and their other friends at lunch time. Only take a quick moment to ask if Apple Bloom was getting all of this, Apple Bloom nodded, mouth still agape in shock. After finishing her explanation, Twilight then finished with "And don't tell Applejack what the surprise is, okay?"
"Alright Twi, I will tell her while I am on my way to school."
"Thank you so much Apple Bloom, oh and have a great day at school."
Ending on that note, Twilight then zipped away off to Rarity's boutique.
At the boutique, just after she completed scanning the shop to find only Sweetie Bell inside. She then heard a little humming coming from behind her. Twilight quickly turned around to shockingly find Rarity humming a tune to herself with Spike right behind her carrying a lot of bags, which she could only guess contained fabric and other clothing material that Rarity needed for her shop. Quickly finding a bush to hide in, she quickly zipped over and hid, and just in time too, Rarity had just barely stepped in front of her door and opening it up to let Spike in with her new materials.
Twilight needed either 1. A distraction to get Rarity outside while she talked to Sweetie Bell or 2. Time herself whereas the two sisters were on opposite floors so that way she could talk to Sweetie Bell without disturbing Rarity. She decided to wait out for a little bit for the latter option to have a chance, and to her luck, upstairs went Rarity to her room where she designed and make her clothes for her shop while Sweetie Bell came downstairs and grab her saddle bags. Twilight had forgot there for a second that Sweetie Bell had school. So she then finally came to a decision to wait till Sweetie Bell came outside and then talk to her. Just as she was finishing that thought, Sweetie Bell came outside and started walking. Just before Sweetie Bell got really far Twilight intercepted her and quickly dove into the same process as she did with Apple Bloom. Just as she finished her message, Sweetie Bell quickly darted back to the house and from Twilight could guess was going to give Rarity the message before she lost her chance.
Next stop, which would be the trickiest to get to and leave a message, Rainbow Dash's home up in the sky.
Just as she was just about to zip to it, she came up with the idea to just write the note herself and leave it at Rainbows door for when she woke up and decided to head out. Rainbow Dash always slept in around an hour or two after every other pony, unless of course necessary.
So, she quickly zipped back home, wrote the note and as quickly as she could, went to Rainbow's home and dropped the note off, making a quick escape before she got spotted by any pony from the ground. Finally resting at home as soon as she shut the library door behind her, she decided to cut the spell and end her wonderful hover time short. As soon as she did so, her legs wobbled and gave out from under her. Getting right back up on shaky legs, started to get blood flow once again to her legs and start walking. She admitted to herself that it now felt strange to be walking again on her legs instead of hovering. She had that same kind of feeling in her legs that said that she had been hovering for a long time. It still felt like she was hovering in the air, yet at the same time, she knew she was on her legs again walking.
Heading to the fridge realizing she still hadn't have breakfast yet, she opened it up and pulled out the cake from earlier, and taking a bite of it. Now understanding why it was unique compared to other cakes, and it tasted so good. It was an ice-cream cake and she enjoyed every last bite.
As lunch was approaching, Twilight began setting up a lunch for her and her friend's before the she would cast the spell and show it off to them. Just as she was making the last of the sandwiches, she heard a knock and quickly replied "The door is open, come on in."
In walked first to her surprise was Rainbow Dash, sweating and panting like she just flew all the way to one end of Equestria to the other and back to Ponyville. Quickly grabbing a glass of water offered it up to Rainbow Dash, who upon seeing the water immediately grabbed the glass and chugged it all down without taking a break to breath. Finally gaining control of her breathing, Twilight assumed she was ready to tell her what happened so she asked "What happened to you?"
Rainbow taking one last deep breath in, she then told Twilight "I was using a new training routine because my old one was getting too easy, so I changed it up and now I actually have to work hard to complete it."
"I guess that makes sense, but now you are all sweaty and can barely stay on your hooves, why don't you quickly grab a towel and get it wet with cold water to cool yourself down, then you can dry yourself off and sit at the table, I made us all lunch."
"Thanks Twilight, will do, just where are the towels?” Rainbow asked. “There should be one in the kitchen cupboard under the sink that you could use, I always have towels there just in case of spills,” Twilight replied.
"Alright, so what is this big surprise you have for us?" Rainbow asked as she started walking to the kitchen.
"You will just have to wait for the others to get here." responded Twilight as she went back to the sandwiches and placed them all on a plate while at the same time moving them to the table, expecting the others to show up within an hour or two. Sure enough, they all slowly began to show up within a half hour of Rainbow arriving. Once they were all gathered at the table eating sandwiches and having a good time talking, Twilight thought it was time to show them the new hovering spell she found. Getting everypony's attention, she finally announced, "As you all know, I have gathered you all here for a surprise that I think you would all love."
Fluttershy asked, "Is it a new spell?"
Twilight answered, "Yes it is, a really simple spell that will last for a few hours, and doesn't require any more magic from the user, unless of course, they pour more into the spell themselves willingly."
Rarity looking quite intrigued and asked, "Why, there are only a few spells that I know of that would last hours without the user needing to constantly keep power going into it, what is this spell."
Twilight liking the reaction she got from her friend decided to cast the spell, so stepping out her seat, she responded, "Let me show you."
With that, she starting casting the hovering spell on herself, feeling the same tingling sensation she had when she cast it on herself earlier, the spell finally finished. She was now hovering a few inches above the ground like before, hearing gasps as her friends saw her hover. Finally breaking from her initial shock, Applejack got up walked over to Twilight waving a hoof under her friends hooves. After the first swipe, Twilight hovered a couple inches above her friends hoof as she waved it underneath.
"My Twilight, I reckon that I want to see how this feels for myself." Applejack responded after getting over her initial shock
"So do I, it looks like fun." exclaimed Pinkie
Each one in turn, even Rainbow Dash, exclaimed with excitement that they would like to try. Feeling pleased with herself, Twilight canceled the spell on herself and asked for each of them to stand in a circle with her.
Finally with each one complying to the request stood around Twilight excited to hover like she did without any effort. Before casting the spell, Twilight warned, "Be careful when opening doors and other things that require hooves, because in order for you to hover, you have to keep your hooves aimed down and in order to change direction, you have to angle them."
"Yeah yeah, just get on with it, I want to be able to be in the air with literally no effort." exclaimed Rainbow with a hint of impatience.
Twilight, a little annoyed with her friends impatience, closed her eyes and took a deep breath in, remembering back on the spell and began to cast it. Just as she was about to finish casting the spell, Spike slammed the kitchen door open and surprised Twilight which caused her to lose her focus and thus altering the spell enough where her horn began to glow uncontrollably bright and just as sudden as the new found bright light appeared, it disappeared leaving 6 semiconscious ponies lying on the ground groaning in pain. Twilight blinking her eyes open reached a hoof up to rub her sore head, to find herself rubbing the same spot where her horn should be. Instantly awake and standing straight up, she looked around to see herself beginning to stand up. Then an even more shocking thing happened when herself opened her mouth and said "Twilight, how come it hurts so much, I thought you said it was simple spell." in Rainbow Dash's voice.
"Um, is that you Rainbow Dash?" Twilight questioned
"Of course it is me, what makes you think that it isn't..." the now Rainbow Dash-in-Twilight's body stopped, after looking up.
"Now Rainbow, don't panic, you will just cause much more trouble if you do." Twilight cautioned her friend remember what happens when a unicorn's emotions get out of control.
"Don't panic, Twilight, I am talking to myself, why are you telling me not to panic?" Rainbow inquired quickly becoming more panicked than before realizing that Twilight was in her body.
"Because you are in my body and if you panic, you will cast random spells that will make matters much worse." Twilight cautioned Rainbow, trying to add a soothing tone to her voice.
"Okay then, how do you expect me to calm down if you are in my body, I want my wings back." Rainbow exclaimed as her panic rose even higher.
Just as she finished that sentence, Applejack got up groaning, but got up nonetheless. Barely making out and understanding what was going on, she then said in Rarity's voice, "Darling, listen to Twilight, even though this is freaking me out as much as you, you have to calm down."
All Twilight and Rainbow could do was stare at her, for what they heard was something that was even more unexpected than Twilight and Rainbow swapping bodies. Looking at both of them the now Rarity-in-Applejack's body looked back and forth between the two asking, "Why are you both staring at me like that?"
"Um, is that you Rarity?" Twilight asked not willing to accept what had just happened.
Giving her a look as if to say "That is the dumbest question I have ever heard." Rarity responded, "Why of course it is me, who else do you expect?"
"I don't know, um Applejack." Rainbow responded with a hint of worry.
"Why would you expect Applejack, I am standing right in front of you." Rarity responded getting a little irritated.
"Rarity, please stay calm for this, but you are in Applejack's body and from what I can tell, my guess she is in yours." Twilight responded hoping desperately that Rarity would not faint, she needed all the help she could get.
"WHAT?!" Rarity screamed, frantically looking at herself and realizing herself, that she had no horn, and the cutie mark of three apples, not three diamonds. Rarity's eyes began to swirl and she started wobble from the shock and fainted. Which is exactly what Twilight didn't want.
Grabbing a glass of water from the table, Rainbow quickly dumped it all over Rarity, who then instantly stood up dripping wet and giving Rainbow a glare.
"Alright, we need to stay calm now and just focus, no distractions if we ever want any hope of getting back to our original bodies." Twilight said fixing both Rainbow and Rarity a glare to show that she meant it.
They slowly repeated the process, varying for each pony that got up, and they were now all standing in the same circle from before. "So let me get this straight," Applejack began, "we are all trapped in each other's bodies, like I am in Rarity's body, and Fluttershy in Pinkie's, and Pinkie is Fluttershy's, am I correct?"
"Yes, you are Applejack, and from my examination, when Spike startled me from opening the door must have cause me to accidentally lose control of the spell for a second and release more power than intended while at the same time altering the spell I was casting. The sudden power must have thrown up a shield or something that knocked Spike back into the other room he came from. We should probably go check on him to see if he is alright."
Throughout the lecture, even Rainbow Dash was silent and paid attention to what Twilight was saying. They all slowly began heading towards the door Spike came from with Twilight in the lead.
What Twilight and her friends did not expect was to see this, the other room was completely intact, except for a pile of books, that they assumed buried Spike. As they were walking towards it, the pile started to groan as if in pain. Stopping where they were a few feet from the pile, Twilight asked, "Is that you Spike, are you alright?"
In response, the tiny purple dragon lifted himself out of the pile so that way he was standing on top the pile. Rubbing his head where a bump was beginning to form. He walked to Rainbow who was off to Twilight's left saying, "Yeah, I am alright Twilight, are you okay, what was that blast that sent me sailing across the room."
"Um Spike, I am over here." Twilight said waving her hoof to show which pony she was.
Spike just immediately snapped his head to see Rainbow, only, talking in Twilight's voice. Almost stunned from the shock, he asked while pointing to Rainbow, "Then who is this?"
"Hey Spike." Rainbow responded while rubbing Spike's head, which caused him to hunch over a little.
"So, I am guessing then that you two swapped minds, well then, who is who with the rest of you?" while pointing to the rest of the group.
As they all introduced themselves as to who was in whose body, he started making mental notes about the swaps. Remembering a few tricks Twilight showed him to help him remember things. When the introduction's were finished Spike then asked, "So, what do we do now, how are you going to fix this Twilight?" while turning to Rainbow once again.
"Spike, once again, I am in Rainbow's body, and Rainbow is in mine."
"Oh, sorry, going to have to get used to that until this is fixed, so, what are we going to do." He responded once he corrected himself as who to turn to when talking to Twilight.
"First off Spike, write a letter, we need to inform the Princess about this, she will know how to fix this." Twilight answered while sitting down and closing her eyes to relax.
Even though she was no longer a unicorn, she could still feel the exhaustion from expelling too much power into a spell. She quickly explained the reason to herself to help calm her down, which was when casting a spell is mostly mental power, not physical. So the more knowledge she has about a certain region or spell type, she could cast more powerful spells in that region or spell type. The spell she cast was in the Pony Anatomy Region, and the spell type she was uncertain of. The region is usually the easiest to notice, because of the spells effects once cast. The side effects usually give way to the spell type, since the spell is recently cast, she was still unsure about which spell type it is. Once you have both of those things, then you could begin to find a counter spell. That was just the beginning, you then had the find the exact spell you cast and figure out the spells properties and all this other stuff that she was too exhausted to list.
What snapped her back to attention was the sound of a bell from the front door which was in the next room. All of the friends were already peeking out to see as to who it was, even Spike. That signaled as two things to Twilight, Princess Celestia now knows about their predicament and two, that she had a customer who wanted to check out a book. Twilight then walked over and took a peek out the door to see who it was. What shocked her was two royal guards were standing there in the main lobby area of the library. They were both white coated, and rather the standard guard, one a unicorn and a pegasus. What made one unique was that he had a saddle bag on his back with who knows what inside, and a scroll hanging from his mouth.
Twilight took the first step out from the room and asked, "May I help you?"
The one who didn't have anything on him answered, "Yes, we are here for Twilight Sparkle, do you know where she is?"
"That would be me, did the princess send you to come find me?" Twilight answered being a little skeptical about how Spike made their predicament sound to Celestia.
"Yes, and that confirmed Celestia's worry's, please go get your friends and pack your things. We were sent here to escort you and your friends to Canterlot and straight to her majesty." The guard responded.
Once he finished speaking, he reached into the other's saddle bag and got out a cloak that looked enchanted. After putting the cloak on top of Twilight, Twilight instantly felt magical wave surge through her. Looking at herself not seeing any changes asked, "What are these cloaks supposed to do?"
"These were cloaks especially enchanted by her majesty herself. It is supposed to cause the pony to disappear to everypony else, but Celestia, Luna, yourselves and the royal guard. Oh also, to others wearing the cloaks if they are ever needed again. That way it will be easier for us to get you all out of here easier."
"Well then, let me go get my friends." Twilight answered, but before she got a few feet away, the guard that hadn't spoken then quickly yelled, "Wait!"
Not know what he needed her for, she turned around and asked, "Yes?"
"Almost forgot, Celestia sent us with this letter for you to read once we got here. She wanted you to relax before she stressed you with your trip, considering how much power it seemed to use up."
"Thank you, that was nice of the princess." Twilight responded anxious to read the letter, picked it up in her mouth and ran off to tell her friends.
Once she got to the other room, her friends then crowded her asking her what the guards wanted. Twilight quickly explained everything to them after setting the scroll down on a table. She then asked Spike to read the letter to her considering that she didn't have her magic anymore. The letter was mostly confusion to the other 5, but to Twilight, she understood perfectly. She then explained to her friends that it was pretty much saying that they shouldn't worry. She was happy to see her friends finally relax and they all started head back out into the other room. Where the guards started handing out cloaks. At first glance, they looked like ragged old cloaks that were just enchanted. Twilight then realized, once they were put on, they started to resemble the capes that Rarity made that one time after Spike had started getting greedy. Even though they weren't exact copies, Celestia got pretty close. What surprised her even more though was that the cape resembled the pony inside the body, not the pony seen outside. That made her happy inside and felt hope that things will be just fine.
Once everypony had their cloaks on, including the guards, they all waited for Twilight to go quickly pack her things. Once she got back, they headed out to each other's homes and packing things. Rainbow's home on the other hoof was the hardest to collect her things. Since she lived in the clouds and she couldn't walk on clouds or fly anymore, she then asked the pegasus guard to fly up and instructed him what to grab and where it was.
Once that was all done and taken care of, they all sneaked onto a train towards the back and rode it all the way to Canterlot. Once in Canterlot, they were then directed straight to the castle and upon entering, they all removed their cloak’s hoods and they all became visible once again. They walked down several corridors and finally came upon the doors to the throne room. There sitting on the thrones, were the two sisters, sitting side by side. Upon entering, Celestia perked up and walked to the group of friends, which then all bowed out of respect. Upon observation, she knew which one was Twilight, then saying, "Twilight, my star pupil, good to see you. Sometime we should just to sit down and visit with each other as friends, but not in a situation like this."
Twilight raising her head along with her friends, approached and agreed by saying, "I understand, we should, but can you please help us, I bet you would know how to fix this situation we have here."
"Hm, let me take a look." Celestia replied while her horn lit up and apparently started casting a spell.
To the group, they could all feel the magic weave through them as if searching for something, but not knowing what. Once the spell finished, Celestia finally raised her head with a grave look, "My little ponies, you seem to have a spell on you that I do not recollect or know of in any books in our library. How could that be possible though." saying that last bit more to herself than anypony in general.
Twilight's eyes shrank and her smile turned into a frown, panic was soon over taking her. Remember her new technique she learned from Cadence, she closed her eyes, taking in a breath while putting her hoof to her chest, then releasing it while extending her leg. The trick worked once again. Twilight now calmed asked, "What can we do, how can we help?"
"My pupil, this is an even more advanced spell than I thought, a bit complex for me even, but you can help by going on a trip for me." Celestia responded to her pupil with a little more worry to her tone.
"Okay, what trip Celestia, why don't you keep us here to make it easier for you?" Twilight asked a little confused.
"Because my pupil, I have a research facility in the Everfree Forest, it is to research strange spells and their effects. I placed it in the Everfree for two reasons; 1. So no one will stumble upon it and 2. The Everfree gives off strange magic, so that way we are constantly learning about new spells and their effects. Did you know that the teleportation spell was discovered there, in the Everfree?"
For once in Twilight's life, she did not know a fact about such a simple spell. Dumbstruck, she responded, "Really, I thought the origins of the spell are unknown and that it was simply within a unicorn ever since birth."
"That is where you are wrong, but of course, I hid that fact because I didn't want anyone to go into the Everfree searching for new spells and getting themselves killed in the process." Celestia said with a hint in her tone as if to say to Twilight to not go exploring on her own to find new spells.
Getting the hint, Twilight nodded in understanding and asked, "When do we depart?"
Day 1
"Twilight Sparkle here, Princess Celestia has asked me to make video diaries off of the camera's they have here at the Research Facility. I can't say what they are doing here, but I can say things that my friends and I have done here in general, no specifics. Now I have no idea if anyone will watch this, but just to let you know, and yes I am allowed to say this, I am inside Rainbow Dash's body, not my own. There was this spell that I cast that was supposed to be harmless, but due to some complications, I accidentally altered the spell enough to cast a mind swapping spell. Now, I am not going to be the only one who is required to make these video diaries, my friends are going to as well. Now we are asked to do this as much as we can, but to only do it whenever we feel like we need to get something off our chest. To make sure we feel comfortable doing this, the entries will be done inside this tiny room. A room that is sound proof so that way nothing we say can be heard outside. I will be doing these more often than my friends for sure, but I have a feeling they will be doing these a lot as well. One thing though that I want to say before signing off is that I am truly scared, the princess didn't even know what the spell was. She seemed worried as well, and that just had on to my fear. So once again, this is Twilight Sparkle signing off on entry #1."
Upon finishing entry one, Twilight stepped out and took a look at her new home for a while. The Research Facility was known as "Effect", because of the many different spells and effects that happen there. Now the whole facility is completely fenced off on all sides as to prevent any wild creatures from getting in. To add to the creature security, there was a magical spell that would ward off most creatures, but not all. The whole fence covered around 10 acres of land, and the actual facility building took up around half of that. The building was styled where there were 6 domes, each with a unique purpose. There was 1 major dome in the very center with the other 5 branching off like the arms of a starfish. The main dome was where all the research mostly took place. Where there were 2 set aside for bunking quarters, 1 for plants, 1 for gardens, and the other for the extra top secret things.
Now "Effect" was well staffed, with around 100 scientist and 50 guards. The guards were friendly as well as the scientists, who all seem to know each other really well. The scientists weren't all just stallions, but it seemed even amount of mare scientists as well. To Twilight, this was a nice change considering that most professors and scientists she worked with at the castle were all stallions.
Now thinking back to her friends, she began to notice that they haven’t really talked at all, and thinking about it even more, they haven't talked at all since this adventure even began, not even Pinkie, which is really strange. Twilight having finished her journal entry, started in search of at least one of her friends.
While wandering the halls, Twilight begins to notice a bunch of scientists running down the hall as if something was wrong. Curiosity getting the better of her, Twilight chases after the scientists wondering what could be wrong. After reaching the end of the hall from the bunking quarters at the north wing, Twilight hit the research dome and discovered that all the scientists were crowded around this one peculiar device with what seemed like a glass/plastic container with cords extending into it. Getting closer, she began to notice that the cords were connected to some being or creature that seemed to be lying down. Now pushing forward and fighting off the other scientists, she got close enough to see that the being or creature was a PONY! Not just some pony, but Rainbowdash! Thinking quickly, she turned to the nearest scientist who was just a little taller than she was with caramel colored coat. Twilight urgently asked remembering to breath to control her nervousness, “What happened here, why is Rainbowdash lying there?” The pony responded, “I don’t know, one moment we were testing certain reactions of the spell to any specific environment we put in, but before we could put anything in, she began to have strong spasms. As we urgently tried to get her out, we were all knocked back to the walls. It was like something triggered and caused her to send out a powerful force field. As we all began to come to, we quickly remembered what was going on and cautiously hurried to her. We tried releasing the container, but her force field was still active and kept it stuck.” Upon hearing this, Twilight realized what spell was going on, but depending on the spell that forced all of their minds to swap bodies, it could be extremely weak or extremely strong. Twilight quickly asked, “Can you please retrieve three unicorn guards and quickly, I think I know how to fix this.” Still somewhat dazed by this event, the mare scientist quickly rushed over and grabbed exactly what Twilight asked for, three unicorn guards. Twilight quickly explained the spell she had in mind to the guards and asked one to cast it. The spell was a simple force spell that is supposed to counter the shield spell and raise the container so they could get her friend out. The first guard cast the spell and the machine arms began to whine against the pressure, still the container didn’t budge. After 30 seconds, Twilight asked the second guard to join in with the first one, and the arms groaned even more. This time, the container began to move, only very slowly, and stopped at about a foot off the platform, still not enough. Finally, waiting long enough seeing that the first guard was beginning to sweat, she asked the third guard to finally join in. The arms groan began to grow to a whine and alarms from the machine began to blare. The sound was becoming deafening, but all the more reason to do this quickly, and that is what Twilight got. The container finally rose another foot, two feet, three feet. Finally, the container stopped, and a couple scientists quickly got Rainbow, and not a moment too soon, as soon as Rainbow cleared the container’s edges, the first guard finally gave up on the spell and that instantly added weight the other two who quickly collapsed from exhaustion and the extra weight. With scientists on both the guards and Rainbow, Twilight quickly got to Rainbow and asked how she was doing. The scientists checked her pulse, if she was breathing, everything the make sure if somepony was okay. Rainbow passed everyone of the tests except for one that was obvious, if she was conscience, of course being a no. Rainbow still had minor spasms, but at least she was fine. Getting something to carry Rainbow with, four guards quickly carried Rainbow to the bunking quarters, which made Twilight begin to wonder why they were doing that. Upon following, they had reached the bunking quarters heading all the way to the back, finding a hidden elevator that they all boarded and headed down for about 15 seconds. Upon the doors opening, Twilight gasped at the new found room before her. Apparently, “Effect” has two floors, one for the main research, and one for medical purposes. This was a way for the sick and injured stay clear of the healthy ponies, but also make it easy for the healthy ponies come and visit every now and then. Twilight appreciated this and continued to follow the guards all the way to an empty bed, which was really close. That is also something that shocked Twilight, hardly any of the beds were filled, only a few injured ponies. Compared to the size of the medical room, that was a fraction of the beds. The floor size was huge, probably reaching all the way from one end of the building to the other. the ceiling was 15 feet up, so it made it feel more roomy and not so cramped up and like a prison. “What other floors are there to this place?” Twilight asked the guard nearest to her. “There are two other floors to this place, the one after this floor is a gym for any therapy somepony might need to go through, and for us guards to exercise and stay fit for any emergency. Then the floor below that is a…” the guard said before he was interrupted by a doctor. “What happened here?” the doctor, a fairly young colt with a black coat and light brown mane and tail, asked. The guard that Twilight was talking to responded, seemingly the leader of the group, “She had strong spasms throughout her entire body right before they could test her in the environment simulator.” “Not again, the other 4 had that happen to them as well, now they are all unconscious and showing signs of only decreasing either into a coma or a semi-coma.” Twilight’s eyes instantly grew in size and her pupils shrunk. The sudden news caught her so off guard, she had to spread out her legs from falling to the floor. She quickly looked again at the other beds that were filled and counted 4 in total. Walking up to the beds individually and looking at who was in the beds was the other 4 ponies from her spell, Rarity in Applejacks body, Applejack in Rarity’s body, Pinkie Pie in Fluttershy’s body, and finally Fluttershy in Pinkie’s body. Not believing what was happening, Twilight nearly fainted on the spot, if it wasn’t for the one guard she was talking to who came up and simply put his hoof on her shoulder and led her away to the elevator. Once the elevators doors opened up Twilight stumbled out in a daze and heard the guard talking to another pony, but not understanding anything he said, and was led to her bed in the dormitory wing of the complex and given some liquid. As soon as she swallowed the liquid, she was out like a light.
