A New Drink
Rainbow Dash was feeling quite bored and needed some excitement in her life. Scootaloo was busy being with the CMC, so Dash decided to check up on her friends. Twilight was the first, but Spike refused Rainbow from coming in saying Twilight was in the basement doing experiments again. Dash checked on Applejack, but remembered she was at another rodeo. Dash skipped Rarity seeing a long line forming outside her shop. Next she visited Pinkie Pie, but Sugarcube Corner was being remodeled and Pinkie needed to watch. Lastly, Rainbow Dash finally decided to check on Fluttershy. Fluttershy shouldn’t be busy she figured.
Finally arriving at Fluttershy's cottage, Rainbow Dash finally noticed how long she had been running for, not having a break in-between her friend’s home. Hopefully Fluttershy had some kind of refreshments somewhere around the house, Shy wouldn't mind. They were friends back since Flight school after all. Rainbow Dash began to knock on the door and no answer came.
"Fluttershy you in there?" Dash knocked again and again no answer. She decided to open the door, and not being a surprise the door was open and not being a surprise the door was open. The door being open in case a furry animal found its way to her cottage. Dash entered and saw nothing wrong. She started to look around and spotted a glass of water. "I'm sure Fluttershy won't mind if I take this from her." She said mostly to herself since no one was around. She grabbed the glass and chugged it down. It had a bitter taste to it, and rather tangy aftertaste. "Some weird water she has."
After finishing the glass, Dash can hear the door open, as the pink haired resident entered her home holding bags in each hand, seems like she just finished shopping. "Hey Shy, need help?" Dash started to walk over, but never realized she started her friend.
"Oh my, Rainbow Dash what are you doing here?" Fluttershy said nearly dropping her bags.
"I was feeling bored and wanted to hang out with anyone. I hope I wasn't interrupting anything." Rainbow Dash looked around hoping it was fine for her to stay.
"Oh no, its fine, I was about to start feeding the animals." Fluttershy set the bags down and began to look around the kitchen as if something had gone missing. "Dashie have you seen a glass here? It was meant for Mrs. Bigglesworth."
"Umm yea I actually did see one and drank it, thinking it was water." Dash felt bad now drinking something that was important.
"Oh my, that glass was meant for Mrs. Bigglesworth so she can feed her litter, and I don't know what it'll do to a human. Zecora said there were no records of a human drinking it." Fluttershy stared wide eyed at Dash waiting for results.
The two stood there waiting for something to happen, but time passed by as nothing happened. "Nothing’s happening Shy. I guess you gotta have boobs for it to have effect, and last I check, I'm as flat as plywood" Rainbow Dash was confident.
"Alright Dashie, well since you're here, would you like to stay and watch?" Fluttershy started to go through her bags pulling out various animal feeds and such.
“Uhh, yea sure I suppose I can do that. Maybe I can help out a bit too right?” Rainbow went over to one of the bags and began to pull out various things she had no idea about. “Actually I have no idea what goes to who. I’ll just follow and watch.”
Fluttershy laughed a bit at Dash’s honesty. “It’s okay Dash, I’ll manage by myself. No need to worry, if something goes wrong I’ll ask. How is Tank by the way?” Fluttershy went over to the bag Dash was looking through and grabbed what she needed and moved them elsewhere. She placed everything in a different group. Fruit group, meant group, veggie group, and etc.
“Tank is doing great, the idea helps out a lot for him to keep up with me, but I don’t use it very often for him actually.” Which was quite true, Rainbow did like the idea of Tank being able to catch up to her but using it too often got annoying rather quickly. “How’s Angel doing? Still being annoying?”
Fluttershy gasps. “Rainbow Dash how rude of you to call him annoying, when he isn’t. He is still a child and has much to learn.” Fluttershy moved over to the bird houses and began to pour bird feed into the bird feeder.
“I suppose you’re right, sorry Shy, I never thought of it like that. Guess I’m use to the old turtle I got.” Fluttershy corrected her as she usually does. “Tortoise yea, does it really matter?”
“Well no it doesn’t but since I’m an animal expert it quite bothers me, sorry.” Fluttershy continued to move around the house feeding those first inside then she will worry about the ones outside. From time to time Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash would strike up a conversation or two about different things, of course Rainbow brought up Wonderbolts, while Fluttershy listened. Eventually the two head outside to a clear sky.
Fluttershy moved about the area around her cottage, Rainbow Dash followed behind doing her part every now and then. She didn’t do much, not wanting to mess up even more then she already had from earlier. She always had an easy time messing up stuff, but usually fixed the problem by the end of the day.
Rainbow Dash never knew how many critters and wildlife animals Fluterrshy had to care for. She always figured it was the ones inside and their friends, but was she wrong. She had seen so many animals she didn’t know the names for. The only things outside she recognized was a bear, ferrets, and rabbits, the rest were quite new to her. Nevertheless it was a learning experience for her, and was quite enjoyable to be honest. She never thought caring for animals would be fun. Well there was Tank, but he was a pet, a companion so it was different.
“How can you manage to afford so much Fluttershy? You don’t really have a job last I checked.” It was quite a mystery how Fluttershy can get so much feed for the animals.
“Oh well I help the vets from time to time, and they pay me, I always decline but they know I need the money in order to feed the critters.” Fluttershy said as she finished up the last of the feed for the animals. “There now little animals, eat up if you want to grow up, they’ll be more of that tomorrow.” Fluttershy mothered them as if she was the mom. It was starting to get dark and was best to head inside.
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy began to walk inside, making some more small talk. Mostly of how Fluttershy is able to keep track of all the animals. Fluttershy giggled and reminded Rainbow it’s the same way she remembers the Wonderbolts. Dash felt a little embarrassed having memorize that much.
Once inside Fluttershy offered her friend if she wanted dinner. Rainbow of course agreed, she was starving having not eaten anything all day. Fluttershy set about to start cooking, till she heard kittens crying off in the corner of her house. “Oh my Mrs. Bigglesworth I forgot, your kittens need to be feed.” Fluttershy began to search her fridge to see if there was anything she can give to the poor kittens.
Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash was feeling a tingle in her chest. “Umm Shy, my chest feels funny for some reason.” She couldn’t help but feel heat build up in her chest
“Oh my, don’t tell me you’re having a problem also. I can’t treat others as well as I do with animals.” Fluttershy was worried for her friend.
Soon the tingling went away. “Ahh much better, it away Flu-” Just then the heat came back, and Dash looked down to her chest to see two mounds sticking out. “Umm Fluttershy, what did that drink do again?”
“It’s supposed to help nurturing animal’s mother produce milk for their young ones, why?” Fluttershy looked at Rainbow Dash with wide eyes. “I have no idea, I was just standing here waiting for you, until the cats started to cry again and soon enough my chest is swelling up again. Well, seems like everything is fine now, Rainbow, you can leave now if you want.”
“Yeah, after a day like today, I think I’m gonna head back to my place, thanks again for the time we spent Shy, I don’t think today could have gone better.” The two hugged each other goodbye, thankfully it was the dead of night and no one should be able to notice Rainbow walking around naked as she walked back to her house.
