Twilight turned around to Spike. "Spike?" she asked. "Can you-" before she could finish, the sleepy dragon fell to ground, asleep. Twilight sighed and used her magic to levitate Spike into his bed upstairs. "I really have to make another helper," Twilight told herself as she came back down the stairs. An idea hit her. "Another helper! Brilliant!" she screamed. Twilight pulled out one of her favorite spell books and flipped through the pages. Then, she lied her hoof down on one page. Twilight read aloud: "For one helper I have is not enough, I need another that is tough?" It seemed like a weird spell, but the minute after she said it, another talking critter appeared under her feet.
The critter was a small, baby dog. It walked on all fours and it pawed Twilight's legs. "Wut dwo ywo need Miss Twylwight?" it cried. Twilight gasped and levitated it into the air with her magic. The puppy barked happily and licked Twilight's face-before a loud howl from outside broke their celebrating. The puppy whined and dropped to the floor, racing upstairs. Twilight turned her head to the window and watched as the bright moon outside was covered with silhouettes of... wolves.

This wasn't good at all. Twilight paced the floor until an idea hit her. "That's it!" Twilight said. "I'll just go out there and scare them away." She raced outside and waved a plastic sword at them, trying to scare them. The wolves raced away, except for one. The wolf crept towards Twilight. It was black with a scar across its face, and a dark red stripe across its belly. Twilight screamed at the wolf's look and ponies had to open their doors to see what the matter was. "SHUT UP, WE'RE TRYING TO SLEEP!" one pony shouted. Twilight winced and tried to use her magic to levitate him back into the Everfree Forest. Like a force field, the forest reflected the wolf, causing a scream in pain from the wolf's mouth.

The wolf growled at Twilight when she put him down. Twilight winced again, saying, "It's alright... I won't hurt you. HELP!" The wolf charged at her, clawing her back leg. Twilight collapsed on the dusty ground and turned to look at the wolf. It approached closer and closer, leaving claw marks and yanking every living thing out of it's path. Twilight screamed again, causing another hush from a house. Twilight realized it was useless, and she closed her eyes.

Instead of killing Twilight, the wolf just scratched her belly and pranced off. Twilight winced as the scratch was felt.
As the wolf ran off, Twilight forced herself up and she watched. Twilight thought it would leave, but instead it grabbed hold of Spike-who wasn't supposed to be outside this late-and tore him to bits, causing high pain shrieks and screams. Twilight gasped and screamed, "Spike! Nooo!" But it was too late. The wolf had killed him.

As the wolf ran away, Twilight lied on the ground, tears poring from her eyes. She forced herself up once again, and galloped towards her home.
Inside her tree, the cozy fire burned. The puppy barked as she walked inside, and Twilight-still crying-gave her puppy a kiss on the nose. The puppy barked again. Twilight ignored her and studied a book. She flipped through the pages, stopping at one page. "Okay..." Twilight mumbled as she read. It said clearly:

There are a such thing as Blood Wolves. These wolves will kill anything in their path. Be warned: their favorite food is dragons.
Sometimes they are born when a Unicorn casts a certain spell, so be careful!

That was all Twilight needed to hear. She faced her beloved puppy, struggling but sure. She aimed her horn at her, and she cocked her head, confused. Twilight shot the magic at the puppy, causing her to disappear. Spike walked from downstairs. "Twilight?" he asked. "What happened in HERE?" Twilight looked around, then back at Spike. "You're alive?!" she screamed at him. Spike tilted his head. "Uh... yeah?" Twilight gasped and leaped onto her friend. "I can't believe it! Oh my gosh!"

Twilight walked outside. It was now sunny and bright, no wolves in sight. "I'm so glad, Spike," Twilight told her friend, "that you are alive. You have no idea what I've been through!" Spike grinned. "Cool, Twi."

Twilight was so happy to have Spike alive!
She knew the wolf was gone.
Or was it.

Twilight walked downstairs from putting Spike to bed. The moon was a 'blue' moon as it shone brightly. The sound of wolves howled outside. Twilight looked out the window, but there was no wolf there. She sighed and walked to her desk to read. Soon there was a scratch at her door...

Twilight crept towards her door. The scratching got louder... and louder... and louder... until it stopped. She stepped back. "Oh my gosh," she mumbled. "What the heck is going on?"
The scratching began again till the door was pushed open by itself. Twilight gasped as she ran behind her toy chest. The same wolf crawled inside, sniffing the ground, inching closer and closer to Twilight every second. Twilight closed her eyes and prayed, "Dear God, save me... save me..." The wolf placed a paw onto the chest and sniffed the air. It growled as it looked over the chest, seeing Twilight's blue and pink mane. Twilight cried as she jolted over the chest, onto the wolf's chest.

The wolf struggled, biting Twilight's hooves. Twilight cried in pain but used her magic to levitate a hammer towards the wolf's head. The wolf struggled even more, scratching Twilight's chest. Twilight banged the hammer on the wolf's head, harder each time. The wolf cried in pain, clawing Twilight's chest, allowing blood to squirm out of her chest. Twilight gave the hammer one more whack, then collapsed on the floor.

"Twilight? Twilight? Are you alright?"
Twilight slightly opened her eyes. Spike and a medical pony were standing in front of her. "You were completely blacked out," Spike told Twilight. Twilight groaned. "Good thing your friend here brought you here before you died," the medical pony said. She gave Twilight a glass of water, and Twilight gulped it down. "G-good t-t-thing..." she groaned. Spike gave Twilight a hug and stared at the medical pony. "Miss Tumble?" he asked. "Can she come home yet?" Tumble shook her head. "She needs to rest a bit more. Come get her tomorrow." Spike nodded, head down. "Okay... bye Twilight!" Twilight lied her head on her pillow. "Yeah... okay Spike."
