Who's got it to be the voice of Equestria?

"This is the Voice: where YOU decide who wins! A show like no other, The Voice of Equestria is where four of the most influential ponies in Equestria, or more commonly known as the judges, pick their teams from a selected 160 lucky ponies. The judges will then have to split their teams into half as the semi finales. The winner will get a recording session with "Equestrial Studios", 1000 bits prize money and will be crowned Voice of Equestria! But there is one huge difference: the judges will have to pick their team with their backs turned, because here, only the voice matters. If more than one judge picks the contestant, the power shifts and the contestant decides. Right then. Lights, Camera, ACTION!"

The judges of the Voice are four of the most influential ponies across Equestria:
Pinkie Pie: Her most well known album, Equestrian Girls, has over 100 views and still counting. Pinkie enjoys singers who are, in her words 'Anti-part poopers', or in other words ponies that have a fun and high voice. All you have to do to get into Pinkie's team is to have a like-able and fun song, something cheerful.

Octavia: Octavia, lead player of the band 'Classico Forever', enjoys hearing singers sing classic hits and strike the high notes well. If you get into her team, consider yourself lucky: Octavia only picks the very best.

Vinyl Scratch: Vinyl, more commonly known as DJ P0N3, goes for ponies who've got real talent on the dance floor. She can turn a geek into a break dancing sensation! If you've got the moves, she's got the grooves. But be careful, don't over do it. Her criticism can be harsh.

And lastly Rainbow Dash: Rainbow Dash, the fastest flier in all of Equestria, leads the most energetic band for years: 'The Sonic Rainbooms'. Having more than 5 albums, Rainbow isn't afraid to take risks. Even though she is soft inside, Rainbow can make the toughest dissolve into tears: if you're not ready to get served, don't put your self on the menu!

These four judges will pick out TWELVE contestants in round one.
The second round will be tough, having to pick out SIX contestants out of twelve.
The third round: the TWENTY FOUR contestants will have to compete against each other, and only THREE contestants from each team will pass.
The last round: things are really hard now. From the three contestants, one will have to be picked and then compete against the others. And the winner will be crowned: The Voice of Equestria.

This was an introductory chapter and the following ones will be much longer. When round one comes out, you can vote for your favourite singer by emailing: voiceofequestria@gmail.com. (This is a real email address.) Please vote for your favourite singer(s) (Max. of four) and I will keep track of the votes. Happy reading!

___The Voice of Equestria__

--by flame phoenix--
"Welcome to the Voice of Equestria, where YOU decide who wins and passes each round and who doesn't quite make it. This is the very first round, where the four judges will listen to all 160 of the contestants and pick out twenty four for their team. Remember, the judges will pick team mates chosen by YOU (please send your vote to voiceofequestria@gmail.com or send me a message)! But there is one big difference: the judges will have their backs turned, because here, only the voice matters. This is Flame, reporting live from Voice of Equestria headquarters."

* The show starts off with an opening theme similar to Voice of Ireland*

"Before we see our first contestant, let me remind you who our judges are..."

Octavia: I'm looking for contestants that blow me away with their voice and choice of music, some ponies that appreciate the art of classical singing. I don't pick team mates from ponies who just sing some thing from Every Pony Radio; If I know one thing about music it is that you have to put your voice and heart into it, make it unique and original.

Pinkie Pie: I'm looking for some pony to blow my socks away! Oh wait. Ponies don't wear socks! Or do they?

Vinyl Scratch: If there's one thing I'm looking for, it's originality and quality; No pony can be a star without those two things.

Rainbow Dash: I just want my team to be 20 % cooler than all the others.

"Those are virtues the judges are looking for: Uniqueness, originality, cheerfulness and coolness; Remember, your vote can be the difference between a fail and a pass. Any way, drum-roll please. Our first contestant is...." Flame turns the page of her script looking excited; "Would like to remain anonymous; well that sucks. Any way, we have 10 minutes until the performance starts. Show them around the building and don't forget to interview our guest, Eric." Flame stalks off to the 'Staff Only' door.

The camera turns around and stops long enough for viewers to take in the view: The building front is red, with a transparent glass roof and beside it is a silver statue of a hoof holding a microphone; the camera pony slowly walks inside. Sun light steams in through the roof, making the red carpet look very inviting and cosy. The wall on the right is a slightly paler red colour, and the left hoof-side is a long window which keeps going until the end of the corridor. There is a cherry-red door at the end, and the camera pony walks right through it;

Inside is a bright café, full of silver tables, glinting in the light coming from two large windows, which replaced the walls. Crew members and some ponies from the audience were there drinking coffee and chatting; the ceiling here is white. The camera pony then walks through a black door bearing the words: 'Back Stage'. Every thing here is black, as the light is turned off.

Mystery Guest: *Voice is muffled* Erm- Hi, I guess. I hate to resort to crude Scottish accents when this spell wears off, so I'm just going to say seven more words: this is going to be a blast!

Camera pony returns to the café, and grabs a muffin before going to the stage. "Soooo...?" Flame looks at the footage. "Well that's no good; She even disguised her voice! I can only tell that that's a mare!" Flame face-hooves. "Anyway, every pony is seated. The show is going to start in about two or three minutes."

Three minutes later two pegasi carrying a banner saying: 'Shush! the show has started!' appeared and quickly flew away. The show had started and every pony was dead silent. Fog rolled onto the stage and a piano began to play.

"I heard That you're settled down

That you found a mare and your dating now

I heard that your dreams came true

Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you

Old friend, why so shy?

Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light

I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited

But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight

I'd hoped you'd see my face and be reminded

That for me, it isn't over-"

A black mare with a fiery red mane suddenly leans out of the fog, to scattered applause from the audience. Flame's jaw drops to the floor. Literally. "Incendia?! From Antipodes?! Horsefeathers!" She manages to say. (Incendia is (c) to PK, creator of Antipodes and is NOT my own character. I have permission from PK to use her in this fanfic. You must have permission to use her.)

"Never mind, I can't find somepony like you

I wish nothing but the best for you, too

Don't forget me, I begged, I remember you said

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

You know how the time flies

Only yesterday was the time of our lives

We were born and raised in a summer haze

Bound by the surprise of our glory days

I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited

But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it

I'd hoped you'd see my face and be reminded

That for me, this isn't over

Never mind, I can't find somepony like you

I wish nothing but the best for you, too

Don't forget me, I begged, I remember you said

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead, yeah

Nothing compares, no worries or cares

Regrets and mistakes, they're memories made

Who would have known how bitter-sweet this would taste?

Never mind, I can't find somepony like you

I wish nothing but the best for you, too

Don't forget me, I begged, I remember you said

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

Never mind, I can't find somepony like you

I wish nothing but the best for you, too

Don't forget me, I begged, I remember you said

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead."

At the very last word, Incendia burst into flames and the fog turned to steam, letting the audience see that she played the piano herself; The crowd went crazy and hoarse in the attempt to be heard above all the others. Cries of 'In-cen-di-a!' were heard just above the noisy din. Flame had long since given up trying to make her jaw go to it's rightful place rather than the floor. The judges called for silence before turning their chairs around and gaping at Incendia, who was smiling.
The first judge to talk was Rainbow Dash; "Dude, that was awesome! Forget cool, that was AMAZING! You have got talent for this!" The audience whooped and cheered.
"I admit that I said I will not be picking ponies who sing songs from Everypony Radio." The audience booed loudly. "But that was nothing short of assolutamente incredibile!" The crowd cheered again.
"That was quality at it's best!" Vinyl exclaimed. "You call that cheering, crowd? Give her some real applause!" The audience went wild and did a cheer that was heard all the way in Appleloosa.
Pinkie Pie was last to speak. "The song you chose was a tinsy bit sad, but you sang really really really really well and that was really awesome!" The crowd exploded with cheers.

"So that was our first contestant, Incendia from Antipodes, (c) to PK. The votes are now officially open, and more contestants WILL be joining us soon. Stay tuned, Equestria!"
