After Link was finished with his break, he happily sat back on the chair and saw the excitement in his friends faces. They can hardly wait to hear more of Link's ancestor: the Hero of Time in his adventure in Termina. "Okay, I hope this will fascinate you all. For my ancestor will be saving the land of Termina."
They all smiled in excitement.
"Now where do I start? Oh yeah, after he killed Ganondorf and Navi disappeared. So after that, Link searched far and wide for her, but to no avail. While he was riding in the Lost woods to look for her, he suddenly gets encountered by a mysterious Skull kid wearing a peculiar mask."
"A Skull kid?" Asked Twilight.
"Yep. They are a very rare race nowadays, they like to play flutes and trumpets. He took Link's ocarina when he had two fairies to scare Epona enough to flip her master right off of her. He was about to take it from him, but then the imp got away on Epona which made Link accidentally transported to Termina."
"Was he evil?" Spike asked curiously
"Not really." Link replied modestly. "You see, on my quest to first obtain the Master sword, I encou tered a Skull kid through the sacred grove. Lt me tell you, he wasn't really evil. He's..... Just a weird kid that wants to play."
"Play what with you?" Asked Pinkie
"Well, you see, I was forced to play hide-n-see through the area. He would always conjure some creepy looking puppets to try and stop me. Nevertheless, I got past him."
"Right, but can we please get back to this..... Termina? It sounds like we are having a little communication breakdown." Rarity sang
"Sorry. You'right. Now after Link confronted him, the Skull Kid cursed Link to become a deku creature. The mask he was wearing had magical powers beyond many magic users in Hyrule or Termina."
"Wow." They all said.
"However, Link removed the curse to turn him back into a Hylian once more. How you ask? It was a tune called the sound of healing. After that was over, a Deku mask appeared before him, a d decided that turning into a deku again would be useful.
"So what kind of mask was that Skull guy wearing?" Rainbow asked curiously
"It's called Majora's Mask. It is a pure evil, demonic mask with powers beyond many would imagine. He was a large dragon-like monster before this transformation, who guarded a place neither living or did, way old beyond Hyrule and a termina combined. A traveler appeared and played a bongo drum for the beast for days unti Majora died of overdoing it. The traveller decided to cut off parts of his skin and that is how MajoraMs Mask came to be."
"That's a little messed up." Lyra said. "I love it!"
Link chuckled. He saw Colin was feeling very excited that Link was telling him about his ancestor. "Now, he had the help of another fairy who was one of Skull Kid's, who was left behind. Her name was Tatle, and was kind of like Navi. The other fairy was named Tael, who was her brother. He came to a city called Clock town, right in the center of the strange world. Termina was in a very dark situation. The Skull Kid with Majora's power, created this moon with an angry or unhappy face like this."
Everyone laughed when he did that face (minus Mathayus). It looked priceless. "That's so funny." Said Rainbow Dash.
"Right. The moon was set to destroy Termina within three days, and Link was the only one who can fix it all. He would use the Ocarina of Time to play the Song of Time to take him back to the dawn of the first day he came to Termina in the first place in case he didn't save the land in time."
"That must have sounded like a very difficult thing to accomplish."
"Oh yes. It was. My ancestor went to four different places: the southern swamp, northern mountains, eastern seas, and the western canyons. He acquired many masks to help him along the way, but many of them aren't important right now. The Skull kid plagued both lands with monsters and darkness. Through his new adventures, he acquired the Goron Mask, and the Zora Mask, which, like the Deku one, can transform him into them depending on the mask."
"Oh my goodness, that is so incredibly wonderful." said Fluttershy. "I would love to see what he would look like as those three creatures.
"Yeah, I wonder how big he was when he can turn into a Goron." said Applejack
"And how graceful he would look as a Zora." Rarity added
"I know. Now, he gained those masks from helping the souls who originated from those masks with the Song of Healing. He also got Epona back from a girl named Romani from Romani Ranch close to Clock town. He traveled to all of the dungeons to restore peace to all four lands until finally, he went up to that moon to face Majora's Mask. He had to give up all his non-transformable masks so he can obtain a very powerful piece called the Fierce Deity mask."
"Fierce Deity?" asked Twilight
"Yeah. The mask contained a powerful spirit of a dark god. It turned Link into his adult self again, except it was an avatar of the god who helped him defeat the mask in a short battle. Turns out the mask was too much for Majora's spirit to handle."
"That is so awesome!" Rainbow said. "So what happened after Link deafeated that evil mask, huh?"
"Well, the moon was destroyed and peace was restored in all of Termina. Tatle was reunited with Tael, and Skull Kid was no longer bad. It turns out he was only a puppet. A pawn of the mask's evil deeds. It turns out he just wanted some friends to spend with, and it was the fault of the four giants, the guardians of Termina. They all had to leave the kid to fulfill their duties. That was when the two fairy siblings found him and decided to befriend him."
"Aww." they all said
"Then, that was when he found the mask, and when all Hell would break lose on the land."
"Wow, that is messed up." Spike said
"but, Link decided to befriend him in return. However, he left the land back to Hyrule to look for Navi again."
"And did he find her?" asked Twilight
Link sadly bowed his head. "No. He never did."
They all frowned. "Aw, that's so sad." Colin said with sympathy
"Yes, and the worst part was when he died, he wasn't remembered as the Hero of Time." Link added
They all gasped. "what? that is not right!" Rainbow exclaimed. "He does deserve to be remembered as the hero who saved all of Hyrule's butts. Oh and Termina too."
"I know. Link didn't deserve that." Fluttershy said, feeling a tear escape her eye. She, Lyra, Colin, Bon Bon, and Pinkie Pie were the ones most sympathetic to the long lost hero.
"That's the saddest story ever." Pinkie cried.
"I just wish that he would have find Navi." Lyra added
"I know I know. However, now he is not in vain anymore. Because I discovered all his skills in swordplay and he can finally rest in peace since I saved Hyrule from Ganondorf."
"Wow, that's great!" said Lyra
Then Link felt a presence nearby. Like a chill just went down his spine. Somehow he had a feeling that there was a ghost.
"What is it, Link?" Fluttershy asked him
"Oh uh..... nothing. Probably just the breeze inside your cottage. No big deal."
"Alright. If you say so." Twilight said. "Well we are sure your ancestor would be proud of you."
Link smiled. "I'm pretty sure he is, Twilight."
"Well, thanks for telling us that amazing story." Said Bon Bon.
"You're welcome. I knew you all would love it. Especially you, Colin."
"Yeah. I did." The boy remarked. "I wish I could meet him. He sounds like a really cool guy."
From above then without everyone knowing, the Spirit of the Hero of Time himself was watching them, looking proudly at Link for speaking greatly of him. He may not have been remembered as a hero on Hyrule, but in Equestria. He was proud to have taught Link his skills that he learned.
Now the Hero's shade can really be at peace.
However, their happiness was halted when Pipsqueak the young colt slammed open the door. "Help!" He yelled
"Pip, what's wrong?" Link said.
"Their are a bunch of evil-looking winged skulls swarming all of Ponyville attacking everypony!" The colt exclaimed.
"Evil winged-.... wait a minute." Link thought. "Those are bubbles! Not the ones you can blow with, that's what those guys are called. Don't worry, I've dealt with many of them before. Just leave them to us. Come on guys."
"Yeah!" They all said. Then they all went out the door to town to take care of those winged monsters
In town Pip was right, many bubbles were flying around the area, causing havoc.
"Oh goodness." Said Fluttershy. "This is terrible."
"Yeah. And I thought Parasprites were pests." Rainbow agreed. Many of the bubbles noticed them and started to attack.
Link and Colin fought with all their might against the horrid creatures. The ponies and Spike took part in the fight, kicking, and stomping on the bubbles to kill them.
Spike took the liberty of ripping one of their lower jaws off, and tearing open it's wings, causing it to disappear
"Oh! Ew! Get away you little demons!" Rarity said, bucking and kicking as much as she can.
Colin himself was fighting quite well. Then he felt something bumping into his Ordon shield, and suddenly felt his fingers getting hot.
"Oh no, your shield is on fire!" Link exclaimed. Turns out this bubble was a fire elemental monster, which would explain why this is happening right now
The boy then let go of his shield and watched it burn before his eyes. However, he continued fighting the skulls without using a shield.
"How do you like that you freaks?" Rainbow boasted. After many kills, all of them were gone with Link doing the ending blow on the last one on the ground. They won yet again.
Colin however, felt empty inside. He watched as his shield disintegrated in the flames, bowing his head in shame
"Colin, you okay?" Link asked
"I'm so sorry Link. I never meant this to happen." The boy said with extreme guilt.
"Ah Colin, it's alright. I'll get you a new shield. I promise." Link reassured
"But wasn't that your old shield?"
"Ah it's okay. I don't really need it anymore. Besides, you just need a better."
"What's going on here?" Twilight asked as she and the others went to Link amd Colin's aid.
"Colin's shield got burnt." Link replied.
They all look sympathetic towards the boy, and murmured "oh no."
Fluttershy bent down and said "i'm so sorry sweetie." Then she gave him a hug."
"It's okay. I never meant for that to happen." Colin replied
Link looked on sadly at Colin, wishing that he could make his brotherly figure better like conjuring a shield that was like his own and more sturdy.
"Come on, Colin. Let's just have a little talk, alright? Come on, Bon Bon." Lyra said. Stepping up to comfort Colin as well.
"Sure. It's the least we can do."
"Thanks guys." Colin said. "I'll be fine, everyone, I just.... can't believe it."
"We understand, Sugarcube." Said Applejack softly. "Link will figure something out.:
"I know he will." Then he went with Lyra and Bon Bon on a little walk around the town while Link and the rest went to work cleaning the messes that the monsters had created in their havoc.
