Chapter 5: a long trip

Caravan guard POV

Two Pegasus guard, along with a squadron of escort guard, are currently on there way to Canterlot with orders to drop off the alien on an military base on the side of the mountain overlooking the city (preferably away from public eye). Vertibird was currently staring at the alien sitting on one of the benches inside the carriage through the little window behind them in a happy trance while Burst was trying to keep the carriage straight due to Vertibird not looking where they were going, nearly making them crash into a mountain twice . Burst was really starting to get annoyed at Vertibirds intensive attention on the alien and not on the scheduled path to Canterlot, at first she thought it was cute how excited he was to see an alien for the time but now it was really starting to bug her, especially when they are on a mission right now.

"Hey could you at least try to keep your eyes towards Canterlot and not on the alien," Burst said annoyingly. She catches a glimpse of the squadron commander behind them looking at them skeptically and cringed a little. "We wouldn't a certain somepony posting a complaint about out job performance to high command would we," She whispered to Vertibird still staring at the alien.

"I can't help it, he just looks so cool," Vertibird squealed still staring at the the alien as it stared back at him with those red eyes of his, they were so awesome!! They look like something straight out of those edgy science fiction stories he would read sometimes when he was bored, which makes it even more awesome. Vertibird got curious of what it would do and decided to wave at it. It waved back.

"OH MY CELESTIA, IT WAVED BACK AT ME!!" Vertibird exclaimed making Burst flinch, nearly making the transport veer off course. Out of nowhere 5 Pegasus guard surrounded them defensively. Burst then face-hoofed at Vertibirds stupidity and at the guards tendency to overreact to everything.

"Whats wrong, is everything alright," one of them said cautiously.

"Everything is fine here," Burst said nervously while Vertibird stared straight, looking like the happiest pony in the world.

"Are you sure, i heard screaming from one of you," another said questioningly, unconvinced.

"Oh nothing we just uhh," Burst said trying to figure out what to say until Vertibird decided to speak.

"It waved at me," Vertibird said excitedly pointing behind him at the alien.

"What," a guard said confused. Vertibird continued.

"I was staring at it for the last 10 minutes while it stared, then i decided to wave at it and do you know what it did," Vertibird said flashing the widest smile ever seen on anypony besides Pinkie, waiting for an answer. The guards look at him confused.

"It waved back at me," He finished squealing loudly. After there was silence from the guards. The longer it lasted the more Burst stared to get worried and Vertibird smile started to waiver until one of the guard spoke up.

"Really," the guard said now very curious and flew closer to them. Vertibird flashed his big smile again.

"Yeah look," Vertibird the looked back the alien through hole with the guard watching attentively, the alien was still sitting there watching, seemingly not having a care in the world. Vertibird then waved the alien again and again the alien waved back, still staring with his red eyes. The guards eyes widened.

"Whaooo," The guard exclaimed staring the alien. At this point the other guards got curious as well and started to them to get a better look at the alien, to the astonishment of burst, who was staring slack jawed at the whole scene. Didn't they know that they had a mission to complete, so why are they busy staring at the alien. She face hoofed and then sighed, perhaps it is kind of cool for it to do that ,considering how little it was doing earlier.

Captain POV

The Captain is currently sitting on one of the benches inside the carriage looking at the floor in deep thought. He was really hoping this wouldn't be a horrible mistake. Hopefully this Princess Celestia is merciful, he had already gotten a second chance and he would rather not lose again to ponies. What is a little assuring is that his instincts are not telling to run, so hopefully he is not in danger. Now that he thought about it he had been really tamed up to this point, usually when he was faced with capture (although who he was facing wouldn't usually be in the mode for mercy) he would usually just tear the opposing enemy to shreds without a second thought, so why was he being so soft with the ponies. Maybe it something to do with them being ponies......... yeah that's probably it.

His thoughts were interrupted when he sensed himself being watched, which was weird considering there was nothing but a small window inside this carriage........ wait. The Captain looked towards the window and saw one of the guards that were pulling the carriage was staring directly at him mesmerized. If it wasn't for the weird crap he had been experiencing most of his life, he would have been creeped out by this pegasus ponies constant staring. The Captain had to admit though, it was pretty impressive for the pegasus to be able to fly such a large object backwards, although he sensed his partner must be a little annoyed that she has to maneuver this mobile prison nearly by herself.

He continued to stare at him for sometime until eventually he decided to wave, of course having common courtesy i decided to wave back and then the pegasus made what sounded like a boyish squeel, he couldn't hear very well through the window, which was weird because his super hearing is second to none, perhaps this transports was designed so he couldn't hear what happening outside.

Out of nowhere other pegasus surrounded the transport,I guess his sequel hadn't came unnoticed. I half expected the supposed commander of the group to reprimand the pony for his unprofessional behavior, which he did not welcome since the pegasus, despite being creepy was the only entertainment he could possibly get out of this trip. However to my surprise they instead decided to crowd around my small window, with abnormally large eyes staring right at me.

This is gonna be a long trip.
