Back in the castle, Link, Colin. And their friends were about to enter the throne room, who were with the darknut leader Mathayus, who was a little nervous because he knows that Celestia and Luna could blast him off through the window with their magic if given the chance.
"Are you ready, Mathayus?" Link asked
"Yes. I will accept whatever consequences they might gave me as well." The darknut replied. Then the throne room doors opened once again. The princess' were happy to see them back and supposedly bringing the dog-headed knight to justice. They were also a little weary and worried that he would try and hurt them because he is not in cuffs.
"Your majesties, we have returned." Link said. "The darknut is no longer a threat to your guards and no one else."
"Perfect. Thank you all." Celestia said warmly.
"Always happy to help, your majesties." Rainbow boldly remarked.
Mathayus was the only one who was not bowing to them in respect.
"What he was doing wasn't to cause any problems." Twilight explained. "He has come to ask for Link's help."
Celestia and Luna were a little mortified by this, but nevertheless, they were more than eager to know what he wanted. "What is your name, rogue knight?" Luna stated flatly
"My name is Mathayus, the leader of all darknuts across Hyrule. And indeed, I seek the aid of the Hero of Hyrule himself." Then He bowed to them in respect. "Forgive me for causing a ruckus with your guards, for they saw me as a threat, and I was only trying to defend myself, not to kill them with blood staining on my mighty sword."
The last part he said kind of scared Twilight and his friends, especially the scout who told them about him in the first place. Nevertheless, they understood his intentions.
"Very well." Celestia warmly stated. "You are forgiven."
The creature mad a mild smile. "Thank you your majesties." He humbly replied. He stood back up, tall. Mathayus felt rather proud of himself and lucky that he did not get thrown in the dungeon for 20 to life.
The others with him followed. "Well, looks like you're off the hook my cool looking friend." Rainbow remarked.
"Indeed. But if there is anything I can do to make it up to all of you, I will be more than honored to."
"No, that's quite alright. I'm sure you spending time with Link, Colin, along with Twilight and her friends will be punishment enough. What do you think, princess Twilight?"
"I think you're right, princess." Twilight said happily, then she looked at the darknut.
"Well, I believe that this problem has been solved, now we must get back to our royal duties." Luna noted. "And Link, thank you."
"You're welcome, your majesty." Link smiled.
Then they all exited the room together, on the train back to Ponyville.
The group was happy to be back, of course this is the first time Mathayus has visited the peaceful town. "They seem a little weary. He noted. Indeed, many inhabitants looked at Mathayus like a creature like they have seen before.
"Don't worry about them. They will like you, darling." Rarity reassured.
"I suppose." Everypony was not probably as scared at the Dinolfos and his henchman came and try to attack him. They realized that maybe he is not an evil monster after all, mostly because he is not going berserk and trying not to eat or stab everypony.
"So Mathayus, Why don't we go into my cottage and talk about what is going on?" Fluttershy suggested nervously
"Good idea." Then et all walked to Fluttershy's home. They made themselves comfortable, as did Mathayus. "Now, what would you like to know?"
"Well, I have been having these.... Visions about these evil creatures called Changelings with their queen, Chrysalis. He next thing I pictured was Ganondorf with her." Link explained.
The darknut was really puzzled by this.
"So, do you know anything about it?" Colin asked
"No. I am afraid not, but it does sound rather peculiar." The creature thought of anything that could mean anything about this unusual visions. "Something is rather amiss. The Triforce of Power always keeps on resurrecting him from generation after generation after generation."
"Why would it even do that if it was supposed to be meant for good." Rainbow asked. "It doesn't make any sense."
"Absolutely, darling. That demon king should not be coming back time after time." Rarity agreed
"That's exactly what I wonder." Colin said.
"Moving on. Maybe the Triforce of power can resurrect him again. Did anyone ever tell you of the time when he was executed, he gained the power of the Triforce and killed the Water Sage?"
"Oh yes." Link said sadly. "But I don't get it, why would Ganondorf even be gifted with that power if he is pure evil?"
"I wish I knew." Mathayus said solemnly. "What I do know us that Ganondorf always keep coming back from one generation to another. That is what I have heard from working as his servant."
Everyone began to worry a little bit. "Well, do you think the changelings might be the problem?" Asked Applejack
"I know nothing of any changeling, or Crysalis. But it would sound like a definite trouble brewing. Have any of you looked into it yet?"
"Well, not yet." Twilight said nervously "we already asked Chrysalis if she was behind anything and the disappearance of a number of Celestia's guards that were on patrol in the badlands."
"She said she didn't do a tying, but I smell a rat inside her." Spike added
"And me and Link already met her not to long ago." Colin said
"Did you now?"
"Yes. She said she wanted to meet us in the flesh and take a look at us." Link clarified. "Buy Colin's right, something does smell fishy, like an Ordon catfish."
Mathayus was even more puzzled. "Well whatever it is, it is definitely the opposite of good."
"You think?" Said Pinkie
"I couldn't agree more." Fluttershy said. "It's becoming scary."
"Well don't you worry. I will help you all make sure this is taken care of. If it is this..... Chrysalis, then I will help you take her down."
"Good. I would love to pound that bug's face to a pulp." Rainbow toughly stated, bumping her hooves together.
"What if Ganondorf does come back?" Colin asked on a worried voice
"Ah, Colin. I don't think that might actually happen, but if he dies return, I will make sure he never tries to hurt or kill anyone ever again, I killed him once, and I can kill him again."
"Yeah, you go, Link!" Epona cheered.
"And for my people, you will help us with a better life than before, will you?" Mathayus reminded
"Of course. A Hero of legend like me always keeps his promises. And I will make sure that with my Master Sword, I will smite Ganon to the ground."
"Ah yes. The blade of evil's bane. I have heard of the sword's power to repel evil since I was a pup. It has such great and immense power"
"Should we prepare ourselves just on case?" Rainbow suggested "it's better safe than sorry to practice fighting changelings when Chrysalis and those bugs betray us."
"I suppose you're right." Twilight said. "We might as well train for any attacks." Twilight agreed with slight uncertainty.
"Yes, I can take on any challenge that I could possibly take on." Mathayus said proudly. He pulled out his sword
"We will make sure that peace will always endure for all of Equestria and Hyrule!" Link said proudly
"Yeah!" They all said with swords and or hooves and one hand up in a pact. "For Hyrule, and Equestria!"
"So, what should we do next?" Colin asked curiously. Then it felt awkward.
"Well, I think everything will be fine for now." Rarity remarked.
"Yeah, if any more of those bad guys from Hyrule come here, we can always count on Link and Colin to kick some bad guy butt." Rainbow said confidentially.
"What about me? I am an ally now, remember?" Mathayus said
"Oh yeah, right." Then they all had a good laugh.
"Well, I think I should go get to work at Sweet Apple Acres and help with the chores around the farm." Applejack said
"Hey, Applejack, can I help you with it? I'm a good ranch hand, you know?"
"Really?" Fluttershy said. "You work on a farm?"
"A ranch is more like it. But yeah, I heard Ordon goats back into their barn when they need to be."
"That's mighty great. Of course you can help me out, Link." Applejack said happily. "We are always more than glad to have a few more helping hooves, I mean hands."
"Can I help you guys too?" Colin asked
"Of course. Help yourself, Sugarcube."
The boy smiled. "What about you, Mathayus? Would you like to help out?"
"No thank you. I need to meditate and focus with my mighty sword for anything that will come here in a hostile manner. Not only that, but I need to find more inner peace for myself."
"inner peace?" Twilight asked him
"Yes. I have remorse for joining that demon king in the first place. It will calm me from my inner wounds and help me find more peace to relax my muscles, for it's a tradition that me and my people have in our blood."
The others did not what to think of Mathayus.
"Well, okay, but please be careful while you do that." Fluttershy warned softly.
"Of course. I will be just fine, Fluttershy. Fear not, I will return in a little while to reunite with all of you. Twilight, do you think you can find me in a field not to far from here? And the same for you, Spike?"
"Of course Mathayus. With my wings, anything's possible."
Mathayus made a small smile. "Good." Then they all dispersed, except Fluttershy, who is the one who lives in cottage.
At the Badlands far from Ponyville and Canterlot
Chrysalis was looking around her hive, watching her children feeding off some dead animals, and smiled evilly
"Those fools." She said "they will never know what is going to hit them. Hahaha." Said the queen
"Did I miss anything my darling?" Said a male voice. "Has there been any problems with our enemies lately by any chance?" There was a human-like figure on the throne where the queen sit, and was smiling very wickedly
"Oh no, sweetie pie." Chrysalis said. "Everything is according to plan."
Then an evil chuckle was heard "good. Soon, both Equestria and Hyrule will be all ours. We will rule as king and queen, and rejoice in our victory against the Hero of Light and Twilight himself for what he did to me for foiling my plans."
"I can hardly wait for it, my love," Chrysalis said sadistically
Then the figure began to laugh really evilly and Chrysalis followed. Things did not sound good, and Equestria and Hyrule might be in great danger.
The changeling queen then heard a voice that exclaimed "you will never get away with this, Changeling!" It was Thunder Hoof and his clan of soldiers from before, who were looking for any clues of Link's vision from before.
Chrysalis chuckled coldly. She placed her hoof under the captain's face. "Oh. Yet I think we both know that we already did, Thunder Hoof."
"No!"
The man laughed evilly again. "Nothing can save you now, Stallion. With my beautiful new love, Equestria will all be mine. Hyrule will be begging on it's knees like this world will when I am through with it."
The captain tried to bite Chrysalis' hoof out of spite, but he missed his jaws for she removed it from his face just in time. "Come now, Thunder Hoof." She said mockingly. "This is no way to treat a lady like me."
"I have been told that, but you are no lady, you are a monster." Thunder Hoof remarked. He felt himself slapped across his face, like he was trying to do a belly flop in a pool without water.
"You will learn respect for a queen."
"And a king." The silhouette added
"Right you are, darling. Hahaha."
