The Advice I Need

Help

Cadence sat on her luxurious bed, tears streamed down her face, as she quickly tried to wipe them away, but they kept on coming. She usually wasn't much of a crier, that was Shining's thing, but she just felt so awful today. She felt as though nothing would ever turn out right again.

She thought back to her wedding with Shinning Armor. She thought back to all the times they had worked as one. They had used their love to blast the changing queen away, but now he was asking for a divorce. He had just sprung it on her! Even two days ago she wouldn't even think of this happening!

Where would Flurry Heart go? How would the kingdom face this? Other questions whirled through her head. And Cadence just didn't know the answers.

Off in the distance Apple Bloom, Granny Smith, Big Mac, and Applejack set up a large stand with their newest and best apple pies. Apple Bloom jumped around, humming a song under her breath, Big Mac and Applejack worked, and Granny Smith oversaw everything, making sure no pony made a wrong move.

"Ya know, I'm ah surprised we haven't seen Shinning or Cadence yet." Granny Smith said.

"Eyup." Big Mac said, as he lifted a large crate full of more pies.

Applejack shrugged. "Maybe they're jus' busy?"

Granny Smith nodded. "Perhaps. Either way I'm goin' to go talk to her. I'll see yah all by dinner."

Granny Smith opened the door to Cadence's room. She immediately noticed her tears and rushes over to her side. She ssaton the bed next to her. "Honey, what's goin' on?"

Cadence levitated a box of tissues over to her side. "Shinning and I...we're..we're..we're getting a divorce."

Granny Smith's eyes widened. "Oh mah sweet Celestia! You and Shinning are gettin' a divorce? I really can't believe it!"

Cadence rubbed more tears out of her eyes. "I guess that's how you and the rest of the gang view me and Shinning. I guess you guys think of me as almost perfect."

Granny Smith nodded. "I guess that's the case, but this just about you hun'."

"I just want to forget it all, like it didn't even exist. I'm a ruler, a princess, and I need to act accordingly. I can't even take one day of grief." She shook her head and slammed a hoof against the bed.

"Well, this bit of mighty fine information might help, let me just tell you a story. It's about mah husband, Applejack's grandfather."

Cadence tilted her head slightly to the left. "I thought he died."

Granny Smith shook her head 'no'. "Nah! We're divorced."

Cadence bit her lower lip. "When?"

"A long, long, long time ago. We were having ah big Apple Family party. He might've had to much Cider, said some idiotic remarks. Pies were thrown, and he had to ah.. run for the hills. Everypony wanted me to ditch him, and even though I didn't want to, I did. It felt like the most idiotic move I could make. But that opinion soon changed. I realized he always had too much cider and he was a major workaholic, even by Apple family standards."

"But don't think that'll happen. I love Shinning. I'd do anything for him, even though this is happening. And he just sprung this on me, and I have no clue why!"

"Talk him about it. If that's all the the case, maybe the solution is a consoler, not ah divorce."

Cadence brightend up at that idea. "Mmmhmm! That would be excellent, I just hope I don't have to force him to do something he doesn't want to do."

Granny Smith wrapped a hoof around her. "Either way, you'll find ah way. And if eventhin' goes wrong, you'll find anothah pony." She pointed at a small gray guard walking by.

Cadence then burst into loud laughter, she collapsed onto the bed. Granny Smith quickly got off of the bed. "What in the world did I say wrong now?"

She sat up again, the goofy grin that was on her face moments ago is now gone, like it didn't even exist. "I'm really sorry, it's just that 'stallion' you pointed out is actually a mare."

She blushed and then pointed at her eyes with a hoof. "Believe me, I'm getting way too old for this!"

"Well, don't critique yourself too harshly, enchanted armor can really mess with your perception of ponies."

"Well, I'm going to go. Place to be, ponies to meet, apples to sell."

"Good luck with that, if you need a princess to help with the marketing, I'll be there for you." She said as she then struck an overly dramatic pose.

"I'll remember that. Will you be ok?"

Cadence stared at the ground as she sighed loudly. "I hope so. Thank you so much."

Granny Smith smiled sweetly. "My pleasure. I'll see yah!"

And with that Granny Smith then left Cadence's castle. She was extremely worried as she desperately hoped Cadence and Shining would be okay, but deep down inside she had a feeling they would be ok. The thing is with life, no matter what happens during it, there's always a solution you can use. And no matter what would happen, Granny Smith also had a feeling that Cadence would be fine deep down inside.

And plus, one thing that seems to be able to go through everything, is family.
