Writer Page POV.
You know, having a Moon Pie eating contest with Luna wasn't really my best decision I ever made. It wasn't really a good morning either when you wake up to a tummy ache. I really got to cut back on my sweets. Anyway, after taking a shower and asking a maid to clean my suit, I headed my way towards the dining hall. On the way, I was starting to think back about last night. Should I let that little moment slide? I mean, I know Luna said that it meant nothing, but I'm still a bit worried. Not once have I ever kissed another mare other than Cherry Bomb. Well, technically she kissed me, but still...
"I don't care if he's important or not, I want that commoner kicked out of this castle!"
My train of that was interrupted by the familiar asshole we all know.
"Blueblood." I muttered.
I followed the sound of complaining, which leads to the dining hall. I open the door to reveal Celestia, Luna, Blueblood, and surprisingly Cadence and Shining. Guess they gotten the message. That was fast. Huh, now they're talking about me.
"For the last time, nephew. Our guest, Writer Page will be joining us in this meeting. Frankly, I think you got what you deserve for mistreating Miss Rider." Luna said as she drinks her tea.
Blueblood huffed as he storms out of the room. Though, he gave me a glare when he saw me outside. I just roll my eyes as I trot to the others .
"You know, I keep wondering how that moron gotten the name of royalty." I say as I sit down.
"Oh, good morning, Writer. How did you slept?"
"Morning, Celestia. I slept fine. Though, remind me to never challenge your sister to a pie eating contest." I said rubbing my stomach.
"You should never underestimate you opponent, Sir Writer." Luna giggled.
"Yeah. I think I might of bitten more that I can chew... no pun intended." I blushed.
"Well, I hope you still have room for breakfast." Celestia said as a griffin butler shows up with other servants following.
"What would like for breakfast, your highness?" He said with a Prench accent. (Yeah, living in this place for 21 years with a lot of pony puns can change you.)
After placing our orders, it was just us 5 waiting for our food to come, though I do have some questions.
"So... how have you and Shining been lately, Cadence?"
"We have been doing good." She smiles. "We've been getting the Crystal Empire back on track. Some of the ponies are still a bit shaky, but they're loosing up though."
"That's good," I turn towards Shining. "What about you, what have you been up to?"
"Well, I have assigning the royal guards with more training." Shining said.
"You know, not to criticize you or your troops, but you're not really doing a good job."
"What's that suppose to mean?" He said frowning.
"I'm just saying that you guys weren't that reliable from that wedding incident."
"We were caught off guard." Shining countered. "Not only that, but I was in Chrysalis' control. I couldn't do a thing."
"Actually, she took control of you when you all found out she impersonated Cadence."
"How would you know. I don't remember seeing you at the wedding when it happened." Shining was getting a bit mad.
"I have my ways. Well, since we're on the subject, I was wondering, how weren't you able to tell the difference between what's real and what's not?"
"That is non of your business."
"Does it really matter? Your sister, Twilight was the first to find something suspicious. Even I would of known."
'Considering that I've watched it from the show.'
"Don't bring my sister into this." He narrowed his eyes.
"Hey, there is nothing to be mad about. I'm only saying that you could of prevented that incident from happening if you would of just listen to her."
"I know I didn't, and I regret it, but I assumed she said all that because how the Non-Cadence was acting."
"You know, that's the thing. I know how long you two have been with each other. Cadence is a kind mare with heart wrapped in gold and cotton candy. (I know, it sounds cheesy. My apologies.) Though, you couldn't see the first 6 clues?"
"Why don't you drop it before somepony gets hurt." Shining darkly.
"Shining!" Cadence scolded.
"You think your threats scare me?" I chuckled. "You don't know what I'm capable of."
"You want to bet on it?" He said rising from his seat.
"Writer, Shining, that is quite enough!" Celestia said. "I don't want any-"
"Actually, I would like to. Though, we'll do it after breakfast. I think it's about time I see what you can do. We'll fight in the training yards."
"Writer, what are you doing?" Luna asks.
"I just want to have friendly fight." I smiled. "Shining challenged me, and I chose to accept."
"You're making a mistake." Shining said sitting down.
"We'll see about that you show-pony. You know what, why don't you bring out your guards. It could be a little 'training demonstration'."
"I'll be looking forward to it."
"Same feeling."
The others did nothing but kept quiet afterwards. Cadence and Celestia look worried, while Luna looks interested. I know what you're all thinking. Why am I challenging Shining Armor? Well, there are 4 answers. First off, I want to see how strong he really is. What his so called training has taught him. Second, I don't like him. Third, if I can show his troops how wrong his training method is, then I could have GOE train them instead. For the forth, and I know this may it makes me sound like a colt, but... he started it.
Frozen North, ???
Shadow's POV
Ugh... you know, I'm getting sick of blacking out like this. My head is hurting from that blow, but I'll deal with that later. What's important is I need to get out of this snowstorm. If you're all wondering where the Nether I am, I don't know. When I woke up, I found myself buried in a blanket of snow. I really don't know where I am. When I tried to teleport, it didn't work. I am too weak to use any magic. Not even my own abilities worked. Right now, I'm walking in this blizzard heading to... I don't know, I'm really lost. I lost track of how long I've been trotting. Where did Herobrine even sent me? Though, I think the better question is, who was that pony? I never seen him before in my life. Although, he did sounded familiar for some reason. I'll have to investigate later. I really need to find shelter or something soon, or I'll freeze to death.
"Need. To keep. Going." I huffed as I shovel on.
I am really missing my old body. Us Endermens are cold-blooded thanks to The End. It was cold in that place, so we had to adapt to the lifeless environment. Anyway, this was starting to become bleak. I can already feel my skin getting frostbites. Why is it colder than before? When I had a run in with Sombra, it was able to shrug it off. Now, I'm struggling to keep myself awake.
'I can't believe I'm saying this but... Notch, if you can hear me, please help me out here. I know you don't really care for us Mobs much, but just this once. Can you help me out of this blizzard.'
...What am I thinking? Of course he isn't going to help me. Why would he help any of his brother's creations. We're the ones that cause the war in the first place. No one back home liked us. I already stopped my marching... couldn't move anymore. I can already feel myself fading away as the snow continues to rain down on me. My eye were shedding tears as I hung my head.
"...It's hopeless..."

"...No..."
I narrow my eyes as I force myself up.
"I'm tougher than this."
My eyes glowed with determination.
"I can't lose hope."
I was starting to march forward again.
"I might of given up on myself..."
My heart was beating fast. I feel a warm feeling flow all around me as I started galloping.
"But I will not give up on my friends, my daughter, my marefriend."
I never felt so alive as I gallop faster.
"My family!"
Soon, I was glowing brighter than a glowstone. I can feel myself filled with determination. After galloping for Notch knows how long, I see a large shadow just ahead of the blizzard. My eyes widen as I gallop as fast as I can. Soon, I have a full view of something I thought I never see.
"The Crystal Empire!"
I smiled as I finally reached to my destination. Though, when I get a better look now that the blizzard cleared a bit, I was shocked at what I see.
"What...When....How?"
Before me was indeed the Crystal Empire, but it had the message "You got Griefed!" written all over it. Instead of it's original life like shining glory I've seen last time, it showed nothing but total darkness with no signs of life. A tower of depression in which a certain dark unicorn would love. All around me was black crystals and pale greyish colors to where the bright ones used to be.
"When did this happen?" Said to myself. "How can something like this happen agai-"
I stopped myself as I came to the most logical answer. I narrowed my eyes as I grind my sharp teeth with anger.
"Sombra, of course!" I muttered to myself. "He's behind this. How did he survived? I blew him to a million pieces! No, it doesn't matter right now. I need to get in there and stop that tryant."
I paced around a bit before coming up with a plan.
"Alright, I just go in there and repeat what I did. Get the Crystal Heart and put it back in its place. It'll take away his magic. Should be simple. Right?"
I then noticed by horn was glowing a bit as it flickers to life.
"Well, at least I got my strength back. Know I need to do this quick and quietly."
With a new plan, I teleported my way to the city. It was a sight that made me angry. I see a long line of Crystal Ponies all chained in place as the slave away with their pickaxes, literally! I can even see the shadow ponies standing by with no expressions on their faces. They just look like shadowy globs of me with white eyes and black mane and tail. Their sharp teeth showed when they snarl or hiss at a slave and another. This was like the first invention of the Mob Grinder. That was a horrible sight watch. Though, I am thank full that those other Mobs destroyed it. What did they call themselves? Oh, yeah! The Mob Squad! I got to thank them one day. Especially that really enthusiastic Enderman. Everything seems to excite him.

I'm getting really off topic, my bad. Anyway, I scan the scene as I see a lot of minions and ponies everywhere.
"I need to go in stealth mode." I said quietly to myself. "It's a good think Twilight taught me a spell for color enchantment."
Walk a bit deeper into the alleyway I was hiding in and charged my horn. In an instant, my usual appearance changed from black and purple to just plain black.
"Hope this works."
With a final check, I walk out of the of the alleyway and head down the street. I was really nervous. I walked by some of those shadow ponies and they didn't seem to mind to my relief. I proceeded my way to the castle when suddenly, I hear a commotion coming from the distance.
"Get back to work you meat sacks!"
I turn around and followed the noises. Soon, I see one of the crystal ponies getting scolded by a shadow pony. I was a bit surprise to hear one of them talk. All I ever heard from them was snarls and hisses. Anyway, I really didn't like what I was seeing. So, I walked over there and confronted the shadow pony.
"Is there a problem over here?" I ask.
"No there isn't." The shadow pony sound like he had two voices. "And why aren't you at your post? You're suppose to stay there and keep these slaves in line."
"Well, I heard some noises and I come to investigate, but it seems you're handling it well. Sorry for disturbing."
"Just get back to work, or I'll report you to our master for disobedience." He snarled.
"My apologies, though, I do have a question."
"What is it?" He seems annoyed.
"Riddle me this, what's black, tall, and is about to be red all over?"
"What?"
"You~"
Before he got the chance to reply, I grabbed a hold of him teleported us into a building. Just what seems like he was about to call for reinforcements, I open my mouth and chopped down on his throat. He squirmed and tried to call for help, but couldn't as I cover his mouth with my hoof. A few seconds later, he went limp and falls to the floor. I looked at his bleeding corpse and sighed. I know that they are evil, but I still don't like taking a life. With that aside, I teleported myself back to the crystal ponies and they seemed to be startled.
"It's alright, I'm going to help." I say softly.
"You're lying." One pony said. "You're just going to feast on one of us without the others knowing."
What the buck?! Do these shadow ponies eat their captives too? Is Sombra even keeping an eye on his little pets?!
I shake my head. "No I'm not. I'm going to get you guys out of here."
"Even if that was true, how are you going to get us out of here? The chains are enchanted so we can't break them."
"You're right, it won't let you break them, but not me."
(I know that Sombra's chains are enchanted so nopony can break them, but I added shadow ponies to the story, so whatever.)
Charge my horn and shot a small beam at the piece of metal. In an instant, it breaks in two before fading. The crystal ponies were shocked by this.
"Who are you?" The free pony ask.
"I am Shadow the Enderpony." I said dropping my disguise to their surprise. "I will free you all and bring down that tyrant once again."
"Again? What do you mean again?" She asks confused.
I didn't hear her as I already went to work on freeing the crystal ponies. If there was a shadow near, I would make a quick kill before going back to work. Eventually, almost all of the crystal ponies were free. Though, it wasn't really pleasant in the mines. When I got there, there was a whole lot of of those shadow ponies guarding their captives. It was a bloodbath when I had to deal with them. Sombra really needs to find better servants. These shadow ponies might be a bit intimidating I admit, but they are weak as wooden doors in a zombie plunder.

Ignoring the puns, I was able to hide the crystal ponies in the abandoned crystal buildings. They were chattering about what if Sombra would find out.
"What if Kind Sombra sees us missing?!" One pony panicked. "He'll find us and well be punish brutally!"
"Let me deal with him. Besides, I've been collecting your guys for hours and I don't hear him saying-"
"WHAT IS THE REASON OF THIS! WHERE HAVE YOU ALL FLEED TO?!!"
The crystal ponies went silent and some of he fillies and colts whimpered. I looked out the window and see the tyrant looking from the castle balcony. He looked very angry.
"Huh, about time." I say as I teleported outside.
To get his attention, I charge my horn and shot a purple flare into the air as it explodes.
"Looking for something?!" I yell back smirking.
Sombra sees me as he slither his way down.
"Who are you?! Where are my slaves?!" He demanded.
"Wow, did you lost your mind when you blew up?" I joked.
"What are rabbling about?! I've never seen you in my life! Now tell me where are the others!"
"Denial, well, let's not waste anytime and get this over with." I said as I teleported.
I teleported to the of the empire and I see the crystal heart were it was before. I manage to grab it before the trap sprung into action. I just shook my head as I teleport back behind Sombra.
"Really? You hid this thing in the same spot? You're not good at this are you?" I said making a fake yawn.
I know I'm being cocky, but I fought this guy before. He's pretty much predictable.
"Where did you find that?! I had it well hidden and guarded!"
"I found this before, idiot." I narrowed by eyes. "Now, where are the others? Where are you keeping Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor?" I demanded.
"What are talking about?! Who are are you?!"
"Fine," I sighed. "I'll say it again. I am Shadow the Enderpony. I come to rid of you and stop your rain of terror once again."
"You? You think you can stop me? I am the most powerful mage in the land!"
"Then how come I blew you into pieces when we fought last time." I was getting tired of this conversation.
"What do you mean?"
"For the love of Notch! Quit playing dumb, Sombra! Stop messing around and let's do this already!"
I teleported from his sight and reappeared behind him. Before he made a move, I reared back and bucked him square in the back of his head and sent him flying. I teleported again bucked him again back into the air. I teleported once again, but this time, I reappeared mid-air. Sombra was coming towards me. With the moment from falling, I raised my front diamond hard forelegs and slammed Sombra all the way down as he crashes into the crystal streets. Soon, I came back down and landed on my hooves with a thud.
"You're just making this too easy." I smirked. "Why don't you just surrender and we'll take you to- AUGH!"
Before I could finish, a shadow-like tentacle shot out of the crater and grabbed me by the throat. Sombra comes out of the hole and looks at me with pure anger, even I'm a bit intimidated. Maybe I should of kept my mouth shut.
"Uhh... about earlier-"
"YOU DARE TO ASSAULT ME?! I WILL MAKE YOUR DEATH SLOW AND PAINFUL!!"
Third Person
Shadow was then slammed into the ground back and forth. This continued before he finally teleported to safety. Shadow was in so much pain. How can Sombra be stronger then before. And where are the others when you need them?! It doesn't matter at the time. Right now, he needs to do something.
"How am I going to beat this guy?" Shadow muttered. "I can't go in head on. I need to- OW!"
Shadow's thoughts were interrupted when something hit his head. Shadow looked at the object. It was sort of shield. It was golden with blue patching on it. What surprised him was the picture of an Eye of Ender on the front. Shadow wondered where it came from when he remembered he got hit by something when he was thrown into the portal. Was this thing that mystery pony's? If it was, then how did he know about the Eye of Ender? Only Twilight and the others know about it from their session.
CRASH
Suddenly, the house Shadow was hiding in was lifted into the air and thrown off into the distance. Looking down at the Enderpony was the dark king.
"Think you can hid from me?! Well, guess again!"
Before Shadow could teleport, Sombra shot out another shadowy tentacle and wrapped it around Shadow's body and lifted him up.
"I have to admit. Nopony has ever confronted and lived." Sombra said getting closer. "I was thinking about having you get slaughtered by the Wendigos out in that blizzard, but I realized something about."
"And that would be?" Shadow ask tiredly.
"You're not a regular unicorn, are you?"
"Are we seriously going over this again?" Shadow groaned. "You sure that crown of yours isn't on too tight-"
"SILENCE! I heard enough of you! Your nothing but a pest when you stepped into my kingdom."
Sombra then drops Shadow onto the solid crystal ground as he walks towards the Enderpony.
"If you like it here so much, then why don't I give you the honor of being my trophy." Sombra chuckled.
Before Shadow could say anything, he felt his legs starting to get cold. Soon enough, he finds himself slowly being incased in crystal. Shadow tried to move, but he couldn't budge as the forming crystal is up to his neck.
"Any last words, naive?"
There were two words that Shadow could say before he was completely incased in his rock-hard prison.
"Buck. You."
...
Crystal Empire, 1000 Years Later
Everypony was excited to go to the Crystal Empire. They were also excited to see this mysterious pony the heard about. Right now, they are all on the train heading to towards the Frozen North.
"I'm so excited to meet all those new ponies!" Pinkie Pie cheered.
"It's crazy to know that a entire empire done gone disappeared so long ago." Applejack added.
"Just remember girls, we're not just here to go sightseeing. We're also here to help stop King Sombra from retaking the Empire." Twilight said.
"I'm sure it'll be a piece of cake." Shadow said from across the seats. "I've seen more power in Herobrine then some crystal-crazed unicorn."
"By the way," Rainbow joined in while laying in her seat. "Twilight, who is this mysterious pony you mentioned in Canterlot?"
"Well, from what Celestia told me, there was a pony over a thousand years ago tried to free the crystal ponies and stop Sombra himself. He was the only one that challenged Sombra and managed to stay standing."
"So what happened to him?" Fluttershy asks.
"He tried to his best on stopping Sombra, but he was eventually taken down and trapped as a crystal statue. A few days later, Sombra was defeated by the Royal Sisters, after defeating Discord of coarse, and was sealed away deep in the Frozen North. Though, before Sombra was banished, he cursed the entire empire and made it disappeared."
"And a thousands years later, it came back!" Pinkie finished the explanation with a smile.
"Exactly. Hopefully, if we can free this pony, then there's a big chance we'll defeated Sombra once and for all with his help."
"Darling, are you sure that this stallion will still be... around after for so long of being encased in crystal?" Rarity asks
"There might be a chance he survived. I've read that crystals have a long-lasting nature to it." (Couldn't find the correct word I wanted, sorry.)
"Did Celestia said anything else about him?" Shadow asks looking out the now snowy window.
"She doesn't know much. That was all she could get when Shining and Cadence sent her the message."
"If we do find him, I'm sure I can break him out. My kind is specific built to move anything blocks, and that rule still applies here in Equestria."
Shadow was showing it, but he was really excited meet this pony. He does admire that kind of bravery. Suddenly, there was a sudden jerk that nearly made Shadow lose his balance.
"Looks like were here."
Soon, everypony gotten of the train as a familiar pony we all know comes out of the blizzard.
"Twily!" Shining called out.
"Shining!" Twilight replied. "How have you and Cadence been doing?"
"We're doing good, well, more or less."
Soon, Shining noticed Shadow standing with the others. He was about defend Twilight when stopped and gotten a better look. Something about this pony seems so familiar.
"Twily, who is he?"
"Oh, this is our new friend, Shadow the Enderpony. He's actually a creature known as a Mob." Twilight answered.
"Well... it's nice to meet you, Shadow. But we're going to have chat later. It's not safe out when they're here after dark."
"Uhh, who's they?" Spike ask nervous.
Suddenly, there was howls and screeches sound off from the distance.
"Everypony, go, now!" Shining yelled.
Soon, everypony was running as fast as they can. They saw shadow-like ponies in the distance. Some tried to jump at them, but they girls would able to dodge each attack. Though, one nearly gotten a petrified Fluttershy if a certain multi-colored mare hadn't swooped in and flew her into safety. When they got to the safe zone they were tired from galloping, but they realized something was missing. Actually, two ponies missing.
"Where's Shining and Shadow?!" Twilight panicked.
Shining marching his way through the blind storm. He was separated from the group when he was ambushed by those shadow ponies. He's hoping that the others made it to the safe zone.
"Ugh, I got to get out of blizzard-"
BANG!
...
...
THUMP!
Shining didn't see it coming. On minute, he was stomping his way out of the storm. The next, he's lying unconscious on the snowy ground. Soon enough, a pack of shadow ponies surround their prey. Along with the former ruler of the empire.
"So this is my replacement after so long?" Sombra frowned. "How pathetic."
Sombra raised his horn and summoned a dark crystal dagger.
"You aren't worthy of ruling this empire." Sombra raised the dagger. "My empire."
"Could you not slaughter my friend if you don't mind."
Sombra's ear twitch before looking around for that voice.
"Who's there?! Show yourself!" Sombra demanded.
The voice didn't reply as the figure starts tackling a shadow pony one by one into the blinding blizzard around them. Sombra franticly tried to locate the figure.
"Show yourself you coward!"
"So you're this Sombra my friend told me about?" The figure, also known as Shadow steps into Sombra's view next to Shining. "You don't seem that scary."
Sombra's eyes widen.
"You!" Sombra stomped. "How did you escape your prison?!"
"What?" Shadow was confused. "What are you talking about?"
Sombra didn't answer as he hauls a huge shadowy tentacle at Shadow. Unfortunately, he missed his target as it grabs Shining Armor and teleported out of sight. Sombra was angry. How did that naive escape his casing. He'll have to find out later. For now, he needs to prepare himself when he faces that purple bastard.
Shadow got back with the others with his passenger safely. Though, he was wondering what happened back there. What was Sombra talking about? He never even met the stallion. Still, he was glad that it was over. Now him and the others can continue their quest to save the Crystal Empire. On the way, he was explaining Shining how he got to Equestria. Shining was surprised to know that he took out Luna easily.
"-and I have to do community service until my time is up." Shadow explained.
"Well, at least you were sorry about it. I can respect that."
While they were walking down the crystal street, the nearby crystal ponies looked surprised and shocked when they saw Shadow to everyponies' confusion.
"What's up with everypony?" Twilight asks.
"I don't know. Me and Cadence never seen them react like this when we arrived."
"I think it's me." Shadow sighed.
To confirm his suspicion, Shadow teleported a feet away and back with the crystal ponies keeping their wide eyes on him.
"Even as a pony, I'm still an outcast."
"It's okay, Shadow." Applejack comforts. "I'm sure their just new to seeing a pony your size. After all, you almost look like an alicorn, just without wings."
"I guess." Shadow cheered up a bit.
The group were getting near the entrance to the thrown room when Spike noticed a crowd of ponies near a rather huge crystal.
"What's up with them?" Spike pointed.
"Oh, they're trying to break it open. There's a pony in there Sombra trapped." Shining answered.
"The mystery pony... say, you guys go on ahead. I'm going to go help them free him. Spike, could you help me out here?"
"Sure. I was hungry anyway." Spike said he licks his lips.
"Well, you two... er, three meet us at the throne room later on." Twilight said as the others went inside.
"We will."
Twilight nodded before going inside. Shadow levitates Spike on his back before teleporting to the crowd.
"Step aside, everypony." Shadow said getting their attention. "Me and my friend here will-"
"How did you get out?!" One pony said.
"What?" Shadow said raising an eyebrow. "Get out of what?"
"You were trapped in that crystal." Another pony said before looking at Shadow and the crystal. "Actually, how are you in two places at once?"
Shadow and Spike looked at each other unsure before they take a closer look inside the crystal. They were both shocked to see that there was indeed another Shadow frozen in place.
"What in Notch's star is going on here?!" Shadow yelled a bit frightened.
"How are there two of you?!" Spike said as he looks closer.
"I don't know, but we need to get me... him out of there."
The purple duos went to work and started removing chunks of crystals. Spike was eating his way in, while Shadow was grabbing block after block. Soon, the second Enderpony was released, but he lays on the ground unconscious.
"He looks a lot like me." Shadow said poking at his double.
"Could it be a changeling?" Spike asked.
"I don't think so. Twilight said that he was here over a thousand years ago with these crystal ponies."
"Do you think it could be another Mob?"
"I'm not sure. I mean, yes. He is a Mob, but I'm not sure if another by the same race is different or stay the same. We all look the same back in Craftia. Maybe that rule applies here too."
"Maybe we should get back to the others."
"You're right, maybe Twilight can figure this out."
Shadow levitated his double on his back with Spike aboard and teleported back to the others.
Future Shadow's POV
Ugh... that was by far the longest sleep I ever had. I completely feel energized. Though, I wonder when the others will free me.
"How is this possible?"
I can hear voices. They're a little faded.
"I don't know, but... look! He's waking up!"
True as it is, I'm slowly opening my eyes. Everything seems so brighter. I guess they did win. I open my eyes and I see the girls and Spike staring at me with different expressions. Though, we I turn my gaze from them, I thought I was hallucinating. Right in front of me was another unicorn that looks like me!
'What the buck?! Is... is that another Mob? Could there finally be another Enderpony wandering around?'
3rd Person
Everypony was silent. Nopony said a thing. The only thing that could be heard was Pinkie's bouncing as she smiles with excitement. The first pony who broke the silence was future Shadow.
"Uh... hey everypony. How have you guys been doing?"
"Do good?" Twilight said uncertain.
"Well that's good. Say, who's the Mob?"
"Well, since your new, I'm Shadow the Enderpony." Past Shadow answered.
Future Shadow's eyes widen as he get up.
"What?"
"I said my name is Shadow. I'm an Enderpony."
"But that's my name."
"Maybe you should tell your story." Twilight suggested.
Future Shadow nodded and started explaining what happened to him. Though, he left some parts out when he was explaining. He didn't tell them about his daughter, Trixie's rampage, the dragon, the filly, Herobrine's betrayal, and especially him and Twilight's relationship. Shadow was sure why, but he can feel somepony telling him not speak of the everything. After, explaining everything, the all seemed shocked.
"This is incredible! You somehow found a way to travel through time. I've read about StarSwirl the Bearded's theory about time travel, but this is amazing!" Twilight said with excitement.
"So you're really me." Past Shadow said. "Are there's going be more Mobs?"
"Yes, more will be coming." Future Shadow said smiling. "We become friends with them, and we go on many adventures."
"This is happening so fast. I'm not sure if I can comprehend all this."
"Come on," Future Shadow gave a playful punch. "We both used to live in a land of blocks that float mid-air. I'm sure that this isn't the weirdest."
"I guess. Say, what do we call you, and how will the others tell us apart?"
"That is a good point." Future Shadow said thinking. "...How about this. For now, you all can call me, Purple. Seems simple enough."
"But how can we tell you two fellows apart?" Applejack asks.
"I think I got something for that." Purple said as he charges his horn.
A second later, a flat screen appears in front of him as it shows columns and a text that says 'Inventory'. The others seem surprised.
"What is that?" Rainbow asks.
"I know what that is." Shadow said stepping forward. "It's a storage unit those Minecrafters use to carry their stuff around, but I thought only they can use it."
"I, well, we learn a lot of new things now that we can use magic. Just a little practice and you'll get it too." Purple said as he pulls out some sort of purple stripped scarf. "I think this will do. After all, Rarity did made it for me for when I come back to this place."
"I didn't make a scarf." Rarity said confused.
"I mean your future self." Purple chuckled.
Rarity blushed.
"I don't want to break the party, but we still have a problem on our hooves." Shining said stepping forward with a tired Cadence.
"He's right. We need to find away to save the empire." Twilight said pacing before her eyes widened. "Wait! Shadow... er, Purple! You're the future version of Shadow. So that means that you and the other us already defeated Sombra!"
"That's true. We already defeated him before." Purple confirmed.
"Then how did we do it?"
"Well... I kind of defeated him all by myself."
"Wait! If you defeated him yourself, then how come Sombra beat you before, in the past I mean." Rainbow questioned.
"He was stronger back then. At the time, I thought he came back the third time to take back empire. The Sombra we have now is at his weakened state. Originally, you were suppose to use the empire's sacred treasure, The Crystal Heart, but I came in and blew him to pieces out of rage."
For some reason, Shadow felt a sudden chill in his spine that made him shiver.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Rainbow said feeling pumped. "Let's take you both out there and-"
"No."
"What?"
"I said, no." Purple narrowed his eyes. "I don't ever want to go through that again."
"But, Purple. We need to defeat Sombra before he takes back the Crystal Empire." Twilight said.
"And were going do this the right way."
"What do you mean?"
"We are going to convince Sombra to join us."
"Your kidding, right?" Shining asks sound skeptical.
"No, I believe that we can change him for the greater good."
"You can't reason with that monster!"
Purple's eye twitch as he turns gives Shining a glare.
"Is that what you believe?"
"Yes, he's nothing but a tyrant for so long. Do you think he's just gonna-"
"Wow."
"What?"
"Oh nothing. It's just I came to a realization that you ponies are such hypocrites." Purple chuckled.
"What's that suppose to mean?"
"I'm just saying that, if I remember correctly, you all 'Love and Tolerate'." Purple spat.
"Purple, this is different." Twilight tries to counter. "Sombra has done so many horrible things in the past that is unforgivable."
"That may be true, but I remember one of you girls saying that everypony deserve a second chance."
"I'm with him on this one." Shadow said stepping besides himself. "You girls gave Luna a second chance when she was about to bring Eternal Night when she came back."
"Let's not forget when Celestia gave us a second chance when we attacked Luna." Purple said
"Not only that, but evil isn't born, they're created." Purple said looking out the window. "Nightmare Moon was made out of jealously; Discord wanted more freedom to cause chaos; and Queen Chrysalis was desperate."
Everypony wasn't looking too sure about this, but they're thinking that Purple could be right.
"Purple has a point." Cadence said leaning on Shining for support. "But if you're right, how are we going to do this?"
"Well, how much do you know about dark magic, Twilight?"
"From what I read before, dark magic was rare back then and the only one who mastered it was StarSwirl the Bearded." Twilight explained.
"Then there's got to be some kind of documents around that explains about dark magic."
"The only place that keeps records of this place it the grand library." Cadence said. "You could find something there."
"Then it's settled!" Purple said facing them. "We're going to investigate Sombra's history."
"What if it fails, Purple?" Shining said, still a bit skeptical.
"Me and Shadow will have to fight him then." Purple sighed.
"But everypony here in the empire can't remember much. And I'm sure they don't want to rememeber their previous ruler for a number a reasons."
"The Crystal Heart can help. It can restore hope in them somehow."
"Where is though?" Fluttershy asks.
"The last time I found it, it was on the top of empire. It has a load of traps around it."
"I'll go get." Shadow said as he teleports away.
"This is easy." Rainbow said.
"I highly doubt that Sombra will leave it in the same spot-"
"Got it!" Shadow levitated the artifact. "You were right about the traps. Nearly got me."
Purple was silent as he stared at Shadow.
"...Are you bucking kidding me?" Purple's eye twitch. "You know what, nevermind. I don't care at this point."
"What's the plan?"
"Alright... here's the plan. You girls head out and make the crystal ponies happy. We need this thing charged if the plan fails. Me and Shadow will go find clues. Spike, you stay here and help Shining. I'm not sure if those shadow ponies will come early."
Everypony nodded and they went to do what they were told.
"Do you know where the library is?" Shadow asks.
"Yes, but we're going to make a quick stop first."
"Where?"
"Somewhere around here is the first Mob, a Skeleton Pony name Long Shot. He's the second Mob to come to this place."
"Where do we find him?"
"My best guess, he would be in some place shady. He's wearing a cloak, but it barely protects him from the sun."
"How are we going to help him?"
"Well," Purple pulls out his inventory again and pulls out a hoody. "Before I left, Pinkie Pie wanted me to give this blue hoody to him for some reason. I asked, but all she said it was a request by the audience. Whatever that means."
"Why is it sparkly a bit? Is it enchanted?"
"I think so. How? I don't know and I say we drop it. Because we both know one thing."
"Pinkie is being Pinkie."
"Yeah, you got a point. Well, lead the way. I'll follow your Ender-dust." (If you're wondering, I'm talking about those purple sparkles they leave behind.)
Purple nodded as he teleports to the same alleyway with Shadow following. The first three weren't it till they reached the fourth. When they arrived, they startled Long Shot.
"Finally found you." Purple said as Shadow appeared next to him.
"Who are you two?" Shot asks surprised.
"Well, were both name Shadow. We're Enderponies." Shadow explained.
"Okay, but how are there two of you?"
Purple stepped up. "I'm from the future and-"
"Stop. Say no more. I get what happen. Not into the nerdy science stuff. So, no need to explain."
"Still blunt like always, Shots." Purple smirked.
"Yeah, that's me."
"Well, we were wondering if you can help us." Shadow asks.
"Depends, is there a safer place than this?"
"There's a town named Ponyville. That's were me and the others live."
"Sounds promising. So, what do you need?"
"We are looking for clues to Sombra's past"
"Who?"
"Some evil former ruler."
"Oh."
"By the way, here's something to protect you from the sun."
"Oh wow, thanks."
Purple pulls out the blue hoody and pass to Long Shot. Though, when the fleshless pony put it on, his horn glowed blue before turning going out.
"What was that?" Long asks surprised.
"I have no idea, but your eyes turned white."
"Huh, cool."
"Alright, let's go."
Purple grabbed Long before teleporting to the library with Shadow following. When they appeared, they surprised the old librarian.
"Hello, miss."
"Oh my! You're the trapped pony from long ago."
"Yes I am. Can you help us?"
"I can try, but I can't remember much. I don't I'm even the librarian." The old mare said.
"Will this help?" Shadow said as he pulls out the crystal heart.
The mare gasps before her body starts to shine bright.
"I... I remember. How did you get that?" She asks.
"Long story, but right know, we're looking for anything that can help us take down Sombra. Records, anything at all." Purple said.
"Sombra... I remember him. He wasn't like this."
"Are you saying that he wasn't like this before?" Purple raised an eyebrow.
"Yes... I remember him coming here every night and he would study dark magic."
"What books did he used?"
"Those should be it." She pointed.
Long Shot nods as he levitates the said books.
"Thank you. I think that will be all."
"You are welcome." The mare smiled.
Purple nodded as he and Shadow teleported back to the throne room. Though, they noticed that the two ponies and dragon wasn't there.
"Huh, where's Spike and the others?" Shadow asks.
"I think they're on the top floor where the balcony is." Purple said as he looks around. "Hey, were's Long Shot?"
"I thought you got him."
"I'll get him." Purple sighed.
But before he could, a flash of light flickered before the missing skeleton pony showed up.
"Whoo! What a ride." Long Shot said through his expressionless face.
"I'll have you know that I can smile too." Long rolled his eyes at... me?
"Yes. I'm talking to you, Narrator."
What the!? You're not suppose to break the fourth wall! It's against the rules!
"Hey, I'm just as confused as you. Buy hey, I can dig it."
You know Galaxy isn't going to like this.
"Like what's he going to do?"
"Long, who are you talking to?" Shadow asks
"Uh, no one important."
Hey!
"Just keep telling the story. We'll talk about this later."
Ugh... fine. Anyway, Shadow and Purple gave Long Shot strange looks.
"Anyway, there's nothing to worry about. Now come on, don't we have an empire to save?"
"Uh... right. Let's go." Shadow said trying to forget the weird moment.
The three Mobs all teleported to the others were they see Shining and Spike trying to comfort Cadence.
"Well, we're back." Purple said.
"So, did you found anything useful?" Shining said rolling his eyes.
"Yes actually."
"What?!"
"We were digging through the library and found some books Sombra read before." Purple said pulling out the said books from his inventory.
"I recognize those books." Cadence said trotting closer. "Those books tell the arts of dark magic. How did you get them? They were supposed to be forbidden after Sombra's take over."
"The librarian let us borrow them."
"Just like that?" Cadence said with a bemused face.
"Yeah, but it doesn't matter now. We got we wanted."
"Well, what do they say?" Long asks juggling a bone in one hoof.
Purple opened the books and scanned through them until he found something interesting.
"Hey! Look at this!" Purple pointed at a page.
"What?!" Spike said trying to peek.
"It's... actually, I don't know what it is." Purple raised an eyebrow. "It looks like some sort of creature."
In the page was a dark looking creature. Purple shuddered he looked at its eyes. The picture itself looks as though it was drawn in a hurry and had a couple of ink stains here and there. In the background shown mountains and the moon shining high in the sky. Although, the sky didn't looked normal. Something about it seemed so... supernatural.
"What is that?"
"I don't know, but it looks creepy." Spike said.
"Well, does it tell what is is?" Shadow asks.
Purple never had the chance to reply as an explosion sounded off from outside, startling everypony and dragon.
"What the buck was that?!" Shining shouted.
Shadow was the first to look out from the balcony. Off in the distance, he could see the evil tyrant and his army of shadowy minion are trying to force their way in.
"It's Sombra!" Shadow yelled. "He's trying to break threw the barrier!"
"What?!" Shining said. "How?! I thought the heart was suppose to keep them out more!"
Purple dropped the book and made his way to the balcony. He looks at the center of the castle and was shocked at what he's seeing.
"Guys, we have a major problem." Purple said not looking away.
"What? What's the problem?!"
"The Crystal Heart... it's gone."
Canterlot Castle, Present
Writer Page's POV
Well, it's actually happening. I'm going to fight Shining Armor. Though, now that I think about it, it was probably a bad decision. I might know a thing or two about fighting thanks to Galaxy, but I know Shining is just as strong, maybe even stronger. He has defenses while I have stasis spells. Right now, I'm with Celestia, Luna, and Cadence in the throne room. Mr. Prince Charming is in the training yards gathering his men for the 'demonstration'.
"Writer, this is ridiculous. Just call off the fight.” Cadence tried to convince me.
"Hey, he was asking for it." I countered. "Plus, I want to see how strong he really is. If we're going to be fighting Herobrine in the future, then he needs to be ready. Your guards need to be prepared when it's time to deal with the Mobs."
"If that's what you wish, then I can't stop you." Celestia sighed.
"By the way, when is everypony else is coming? They should of been here by now."
"I too wonder when our friends will arrive." Luna said.
"I don't know. Maybe I should send another letter." Celestia said.
Before I could say anything, I felt a tingling feeling in my chest. I grunted as I hold my chest.
"Is there something wrong, Sir Writer?" Luna asks.
"I think so. I just feel a little funny." I said grunting a bit.
As if on cue, there was flash of a bright light before it faded away. Though, I do feel a little weird.
"Whoa, what was that?" I asked.
There was a moment of silence before Cadence spoke.
"Writer... are you okay?" She asks, giggling?
"Uh, yeah. I think so."
Just know, I realized I sounded different. My voice sound more higher. Like Twilight's and Rainbow's mixed together.
"Well, this is a rather unexpected surprise." Celestia sound amused.
"What? What happened?" I was starting to panic.
"Well, you do look different than before." Luna said snickering.
"Mirror. I need a mirror!"
Luna's horn glowed as a mirror appeared out of nowhere. I look into it and I was surprised at what I saw. What I see is a grey mare with long black and dark grey ponytail. Also, my tail was smaller than my usual big elegant one. My right ear had a perfectly made cut, instead of a ripped one. My black glasses were replaced with red ones. I was even more surprised to see myself wearing a tan colored suit. Along a white shirt under and a blue tie. I got to say... I look hot.
"Well, this is interesting." I said as I make some poses.
"How could something like this happen?" Celestia asks.
"I have the answer to that." Luna said giggling.
"What did this then?" I ask looking back at her.
"Last night, when we sitting in the grass, you were laying in a small bed of Poison Joke."
I felt really embarrassed and I my cheeks were showing it.
"So that's why you were giggling last night before we went back inside."
"I'm sorry, but I really wanted to see what the Poison Joke does to you."
"Fear not, Writer Page. I will have an antidote ready for you immediately." Celestia said calling for a nearby servant.
"Actually, that could wait for a while." I said looking at my mane. "I would like to see Cherry Bomb's reaction when she shows up."
"Very well then." Celestia smiled.
Just then, a guard came in.
"Your majesty, everything is in place in the training yard."
"Thank you."
"I'd also like to inform you that the Element Bearers have arrived. Along with two pegasi and two unicorns.
"Thank you."
The guard left without another word.
"I guess it's time." I said as we were leaving the throne room.
Although, a thought came to me.
"By the way," I said facing the others. "For the rest of the day, call me Scribble Sheet."
