Have you ever had an experience where the day you wait for feels like it’s never supposed to arrive? Like how people feel about graduation, I wouldn't know, I was taken to Equestria days before that. But the wedding day was today, it was here after what must have felt like an eternity.
But yet, here I was, in front of a full length mirror looking at myself in a suit for the occasion, my best mare, Rainbow Dash was in her own unique dress keeping me calm because, weddings are nervous as all hell. Imagine when Twilight gets married, I fear not even Celestia could calm her down.
“Jason, stop fiddling with your fingers, that’s looking not awesome for you” Dash grabs my fingers away from each other.
“Sorry, it’s just this whole thing is making me more nervous than Twilight when the word “Test” is mentioned next to her” I reply back.
“Well get your flank into gear, you’re marrying the most awesome Princess ever! And she’s marrying the most awesome human ever, it’s a win-win today!” Dash assures me.
“I know but all these worrying thoughts come up and…” I started before Dash interrupts me.
“None of that, Jason! No worrying thoughts! They can’t be the boss of you, you are the boss of them and you must command them to go jump off a cliff or you’ll push them off personally! When you get out there, you will walk up there with pride and umm…grace I suppose for Rarity’s sake, when Twilight asks you to do the “I do” part, you damn do it! You say I do like if you said anything else, you’d die in shame! When Twilight says you two kiss, YOU GIVE HER THE MOST PASSIONATE DAMN KISS EVER!...when I’m not looking I can’t stand the sappiness. But when you walk out, everypony will know about the most badflank and awesome couple there is and it will be you two, ARE. WE. CLEAR?” Dash gives me a pep talk (sadly no General outfit there).
“Yes” I reply.
“Good! Now get out there and make us proud!” Dash says as she nudges me out.
Alright! LET’S DO THIS! NOTHING CAN STOP ME! NOTHING!

Is it just me or this hallway really long? And when did people get this stare-y? Reminds me of the days I first got here, ponies had no “it’s rude to stare” rule or something back then.
Now Jason, just get to the end, no nervousness shall defeat you this day, you survived an attack on your life, you’ve done everything for the mare you’re about to marry and she’s done a lot for you, now I got get to the end. Left…left, left right left! Left, right, left right left!. See? I’m there, I am master of walking seemingly long wedding hallways, kneel before my awesome hallway walking powers!
Anywho, I made it and Rainbow Dash came up beside me and smiled at me in approval, now we just wait for Celestia to arrive.
She will won’t she? She can’t even abandon this, the law prevents her from doing so, but I know the law won’t force her, her own will does it. Still, the thought still comes and it’s every groom’s worst nightmare, being left at the altar, calm down Jason, that won’t happen, you’re overreacting going hybrid Rairty-Twilight overreaction here soon if you don’t stop it. Suddenly I imagined myself seeing Celestia leave and me goign all THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!
The doors opened, the music played…holy fucking shit...it’s Celestia…she’s…she’s…I don’t even know of a word good enough to describe her because I did use one she’d be offended by how low I’d be rating her with the word I use when she has a much higher rating than the one I used, know what I’m saying?
Celestia was pure white, when she came out, she was glowing pure white, like seriously, there was an outline all around her and her dress that was pure white, like sunlight. And my she had a the white wedding dress that put Cadence’s to shame (Pink and white just looked not right in my opinion, well it looked all right but yeah, it’s fur colour, what can you do? And would the Princess of Love be anything BUT Pink? Speaking of which, she’s in the seating with Shining Armor whom I saw and they both waved as the looked back to Celestia), it was traditional white and in traditional form, only Celestia’s was imbued with magic to make it more radiant of the power Celestia had, the head thing brides have (God I forget what they call it every time) went along with her mane which was extra shiny and wavy today. TL;DR My jaw just went through the castle and to the planet’s core looking at her.
She is walking up to my side, and my jaw was still open.
“Hey dude, close your jaw, you’ll swallow some flies if you keep that up” Rainbow whispered as she nudged me and I did close my mouth.
Celestia arrived at my side as the music finished, she looked my way and she had the most beautiful smile…If I had a smile like that I would charge ponies to see it, I honestly reckon it could cure cancer if experimentation happened with it. But I smiled back mouthing a compliment to her.
And now my heart is literally doing a rapid drumming right now, here it was, the moment ever since that day we found ourselves next to each other was counting down to, many would say they’d be the luckiest guy in the world on their wedding day but me…I feel the luckiest of all the luckiest guys in the world right now.
Twilight was up as she had flash cards to read off as she went to speak out the wedding. (Typical Twilight)
“Mares, Gentlecolts, Commoners, Nobles, Princes, Princesses, Earth Ponies, Pegasi, Unicorns, Alicorns, Human and many more, today we are gathered to the unification of Jason Anderson of Planet Earth and Celestia, Princess of the Sun.” Twilight started her speech
Twilight said that with such professionalism around Celestia, usually I’d think she’d be trying to think how best to not fuck it up.
“These two beings have endured their fair share of trials to be where they are today and have agreed to marry each other, now onto the ceremony to make it final. ” Twilight continues on with her speech.
Here it comes…
“Jason Cameron Anderson, do you Harmoniously, take Princess Celestia as your lawfully wedded wife for as long as you may live, in sickness and in health, in Harmony and Chaos, peace and war until death do you part?” Twilight asks the all important question.
I paused, a million thoughts came through as I stared into the eyes of Celestia, I want to do this, I want to make her happy and I will make it so until my dying breath, because I love her. I want to spend the rest of my life with her, I don't think a life without her would be the same as it were before. So from that I say...
“I do.” I answered as Twilight smiled at me.
“Princess Celestia, do you Harmoniously, take Jason Cameron Anderson as your lawfully wedded husband for as long as you may live, in sickness and in health, in Harmony and Chaos, peace and war until death do you part?” Twilight asked Celestia the important question.
I wonder if Celestia was thinking the same thoughts I did when she stared into my eyes before she answered…
“I do” Celestia answered .
“Then may the rings come out and you may now exchange vows” Twilight says to us.
Rainbow Dash handed me the ring I am going to give to Celestia and Luna gave Celestia the ring she’s going to give to me. It’s my turn for the vows.
I got closer to Celestia and placed the ring on her horn. The Ring was a special kind of gold, one kind that hasn’t been around 1200 years but I pulled a few strings with the help of Luna and a talented ringmaker. The gold is special, it will never rust until the pony for which it was made for deceases and even after that it takes a while to lose its value, a special gem in shape of Celestia’s mark was on it. It costed a lot but it’s worth it.
“Celestia, we went from just lovers on circumstances to never even imagining being without each other, I went through a near-death experience to realize that our relationship was more than the magic of friendship, it was the power of love. You went out of your way to ensure my safety and I will go out of my way to do the same for you, I promise I will love you for the rest of my days, I swear to any god or goddess that listens, I will make sure you enjoy true happiness. I love you Celestia, forever and ever and death will not stop me from doing that when that time comes” I say my vow.
Celestia then smiled as she placed the ring on my wedding finger, it was a similar design but instead of the sun, a detailed planet Earth was there.
“Jason, I thought I’d never find love, I admit in my early years as Princess, I never had time for something that seemed so petty to me, I only cared about Equestria and my own sister. I was a fool. Through light of recent events in the past couple of years, it’s been made clear that I cannot handle Equestria as just my duty or take care of my sister, my former student that is next to us running the ceremony and all that I care about as just another duty. There is Harmony in those things, there is love in those same things, that’s what drives me to continue day after day, I just never realized until recently. Recently, I found the love I thought so long ago as petty and it was anything but petty, you do not owe me making me happy, you already have, I believe that together, we will love each other in perfect harmony. I am ready to start the next big adventure in our lives and I know we will make it through with each other at our sides” Celestia did a vow of her own.
I was touched, I really am. I think this whole last few months have been enlightening. The next big adventure? Married life? I say we are overqualified and one of us is massively overdue to start this next big thing.
“And so it shall be, by the authority as Princess of Friendship, Element of Magic and through the power vested in me, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife, you may now kiss the bride” Twilight finishes the ceremony.
Celestia and I moved in for the first kiss as a married couple, the second our lips touched I felt the magic flowing through me as we glowed once more and the pony parts…I could feel them better than I could before, it didn’t matter, the applause didn’t matter, what mattered was it was finally here…the next step, at 20 years of age I was married, my only regret that my family were not her to see this day, but I am sure they would be proud.
We broke apart, I looked behind me to discover the pony parts were more clearer than before, there were cobalt blue coloured wings and tail, ears as well too. I liked them, but that’s for later. Now, we walked down the isle and out the door, we had a reception the do and I know a certain wife of mine is really wanting to get to the wedding cake (She can’t hide it from me).
“You have beautiful new appendages sticking out of you” Celestia observed as we walked out the door.
“Thank you, although they pale compared to yours, my darling wife” I reply back.
“Oh these old wings that are old as I am? Although I am told I look good for my age” Celestia joked.
“I did hear a rumor that mares are dying to know your secret” I continued the joke.
“Alicorn genes, my loving husband. I still remember my mother, she looked beautiful the last time I ever saw her before she disappeared” Celestia said less jokingly and more honestly.
“I miss my family, but I know they are proud if they did see us as well as your parents would be I am sure” I reply as I wrapped an arm around her.
We ignored all the press flashing their cameras at us, and we went into the Just Married carriage that was to take us to Sugarcube corner for the reception and to fill Celestia’s stomach of next adventure yumminess.
I am not worried now, I am not concerned, I am not sad, I am no negative emotion. I am happy, I have a sense of fulfillment in me, magic in me, I am ready.
Let the married life begin…
