"It's a bright sunny day. Nothing can go wrong today" thought Twilight. But maybe she was forgetting, one day she had thought the same, but then she found that the destinies of her friends had been changed due to her. But, that day did end well. That was the day she become one of the princesses of Equestria. But since she had become a princess, she met many problems almost everyday. But this day couldn't be one of those 'almost everyday' days. It was Twilight's birthday and the ponies had planned a big surprise for her. They would take her to the new museum in Manehattan. They had heard that no pony could get bored over there. Spike wasn't really much into this idea, but he agreed when the ponies and especially Rarity insisted.
The museum was filled with ooh’s and ah’s as ponies admired the incredible artifacts. Every pony was busy in their section of interest. For once, even Rainbow Dash was impressed.
“Ha Rainbow! Who thought ya would be impressed by a museum! Ya used to say that museums are for eggheads, didn't ya?” said AppleJack when she noticed how Rainbow adored the museum.
“Hey! I wouldn’t have come here if there wasn’t a whole section about the Wonderbolts.” replied Rainbow immediately.
“Would you both mind keeping it down? You are distracting me.” said Rarity after having enough of their conversation.
''Distracting you from what?'' asked Rainbow
“Why, these gorgeous ancient fabrics! Aren’t they just fabulous? I guess I could ask the authorities if I can have a piece from one of them.” she replied.
"Rarity, they ain't gonna give you anything! It's the museums property!" exclaimed AppleJack. The conversation continued.
Fluttershy was busy in the animal’s section which consisted of models of extinct animals. “How nice it would have been if they were alive! I would have played with the dodo's or kept a mammoth or...” she continued thinking.
And Pinkie muttered an ooh or ah every other second, even if she didn’t know what she was looking at.
Twilight, obviously, was away in the magic section. She was the one most happy about this trip, and why not, it was her birthday after all.
The only one who was bored was Spike. The reason was clear as ‘The Museum of Ages’ was a museum for ponies and Spike was no pony, he was a baby dragon (or according to him, a ferocious fire breathing dragon!). He wandered off, hoping to find something of his interest.
He then came across a door made of wood, which had a ‘Restricted’ sign on it. ‘‘Now that’s something for me!” he thought. He decided to open it, but the door (obviously) was locked. This was not a big problem for Spike. He just burnt a small part of the door with his fire, causing a big hole in it. Well, at least big enough for him.
He entered the room, expecting old books with dangerous magic spells or a creature of some sought, but surprisingly he just found a small box. He opened a box and found a loop with a small base and a button on the top of the box. “What does this button do?” he thought and pressed the button. The result of the result was a scream from Spike.
Five minutes earlier, outside the restricted room, Twilight had discovered that Spike was missing. It was almost time to go, so she gathered the ponies and they started looking for him. The ponies searched everywhere (well, almost everywhere, not in the restricted room, because it was... restricted) but couldn’t find him. They suddenly heard a scream from one of the corners of the museum. They ran over there and found the restricted room. The hole in the door was too small for the ponies, so Twilight used her magic to break it into pieces. They went inside to find Spike being sucked by some kind of machine. “Help me Twilight!” cried Spike. The Mane 6 ran to his help but unfortunately, the suction was so strong that it pulled all the ponies present in the room.
All of them were suddenly in a place similar to space. They found themselves really light and calm. Suddenly the colors of the surrounding started to change. They realized they were getting teleported somewhere, but they passed out before they could see where.
The Mane 6 had now reached a very strange land. While they lay unconscious, they were surrounded by a forest filled with enormous trees and huge black vines. The place was scary, but not as much as it was still daytime.
The first one to wake up was AppleJack. She woke up to find herself in a forest. "Forest? What in tarnation happened?" she thought.
In a few moments Rainbow Dash woke up followed by the rest of the ponies. Spike was still unconscious. All of them were in pain. It seemed as if their limbs were broken.
''When are we going to leave this forest?'' exclaimed a scared Fluttershy.
"I've never seen or read about this part of Equestria." said Twilight.
"Now that I think of it, any place similar to this doesn't even exist on the map of Equestria. But why or perhaps how?" said Rarity.
Pinkie said '' Ooh ooh, pick me pick me? Maybe this place isn't Equestria!"
"Pinkie!" said everypony with the exception of Twilight.
"No girls, maybe she's right! Maybe this place isn't Equestria." said Twilight.
''Then what is this place?" asked Rainbow.
Twilight was clueless. Suddenly, Fluttershy saw a small rabbit going by. ''Girls, I can ask that small cuddly rabbit.'' said Fluttershy.
"Go ahead." replied Twilight.
Fluttershy approached the bunny and asked him, "Um, excuse me, would you be kind enough to tell me and my friends, where exactly we are, you see we are..." Suddenly the bunny kicked Fluttershy on her face, shouted something in bunny language and ran off.
''Hey you bunny, no one hurts my friend!'' screamed Rainbow. All the ponies ran towards Fluttershy.
"Oh Darling, are you alright?" asked Rarity.
"Y-yes." said Fluttershy.
"What did that lil' rabbit say before running off?" asked AppleJack.
Fluttershy said "He told.. he told me that.. helping any pony is a crime!"
"What?!" asked every pony, surprised.
"I say, we go in search of a town and ask what's goin' on." suggested AppleJack. Every pony agreed.
Suddenly Spike woke up. He was very embarrassed after hearing everything, after all this had happened mainly because of him. "Sorry! I didn't know something like this would happen. I was just curious." he said. The ponies forgave him saying that everyone makes mistakes.
It didn't take much time to reach the nearest town. When they arrived, they saw a board with 'Breddles' written on it. "I guess the name of this place is Breddles" said Rarity. They went in to find a marketplace. There were many ponies to be found, but everyone looked dull. It looked as if they hadn't smiled for ages. The Mane 6 seemed like the brightest ponies in the market place.
They then noticed a mare in a long fancy dress. Her skin was light pink in color and her mane was blue with violet streaks. She had it tied in a high ponytail. She was ordering every pony to do some thing or the other. It seemed as if she was their leader or some thing. The 'leader' then saw the Mane 6, and noticed how bright they all were. Suddenly she shouted ''Get them!'' pointing at the Mane 6. The Mane 6 and Spike were shocked. Every pony started running towards them.
