As Colin was sitting with Link on this picnic with Fluttershy, Twilight, and the other ponies, and they all smiled at him when he looked at them in a friendly face. Colin was ever so happy to see Link once again, and Link the same way for Colin. The boy was eating a zap apple jam sandwich and he was really enjoying it for the first try.
"So tell us, what is your name, darling?" Asked Rarity
"Colin." He replied.
"Hello Colin. I'm Fluttershy."
"Name's Rainbow Dash."
"I'm Applejack."
"Twilight Sparkle."
"My name is Spike."
"I'm Lyra, and it is so nice to meet you Colin."
"Right. Bon Bon at your service,"
"And I am Pinkie Pie!"
The boy smiled and laughed at what Pinkie did excitingly. "Nice to meet you all too." He replied to all of them.
"So, Colin, Link told us about you." said Fluttershy. "He said you are quite a sweet boy."
the kid blush. "Oh. Well, I do help someone in need if i must." then he looked at Link. "Everyone's been looking for you. dad, the resistance movement, the Gorons, Zoras, and even the Bulblins are looking for you."
"I know. I figured they would." Link replied. "So, how did you get here, Colin? and.... where did you get these clothes?"
"Yeah, now you look almost like him." Rainbow pointed
"Well.... The light spirits of Hyrule summoned me and brought me here to Equestria for no reason. Then they all gave me this uniform."
Link was quite surprised by this, and so were the ponies and Spike, even though they have never heard of these Light Spirits before. "That's kind of how I got here." he replied. "Except.... I wasn't really talking to the spirits, i was just in an aura of light like you were."
"Huh." then Colin became a little saddened about leaving his parents like that. "I hope they're alright. they probably miss me by now."
"Ah, Colin." Link said. "We'll see what we can do to get us back home, okay?"
"I know." Colin replied. Then he felt Link giving him a side hug. He remembered Midna, the Twilight Princess that gave him his new powers of being a wolf whenever he felt like it. If she was a really good friend to his brother figure, then he decided that it was okay for him to tell Link about her. "uuummmmmmm Link?"
"Hmm?"
"I.... I met Midna earlier today."
Link's eyes went wide and gasped in disbelief "Midna?" He said. Then a smile came to his face, thinking of a possibility of seeing his comrade that was always by his side on his quest. He never thought he would see her again, or come back to Hyrule. "Is she alright?"
"Yes. Zelda introduced me to her. I.... Didn't really trust her but then I realized that she was a friend to Hyrule and not a minion of Ganondorf."
"What did she want from you?" Link asked curiously
"She told me about you can transform into a wolf."
Link became a little horrified to hear that Colin now knows the truth of his special gift. "She did?" He said. "Okay. You caught me. I can transform into a wolf, but I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want to scare you."
"He's right, Sugarcube." Said Applejack. "It was for your own safety,"
"I know. I.... I just wish that he can tell me earlier"
"I know. I'm sorry."
"It's okay."
"So, how did Midna come back to Hyrule? I thought she would never come back. She destroyed the mirror from our home and the Twilight realm from interacting eachother again."
"That, I don't know." Colin said. "But I don't think that is important. Anyway, Midna also gave me a shadow crystal of my own to transform into a wolf too."
Fluttershy gasped with joy. "She did? Um, I hope this isn't too much to ask, but can you please transform into the wolf?" She really wanted to see how cute he would be as a wolf.
"Yeah, I bet it would be really cute." Pinkie added
"I'm not cute." Colin said in embarrassment,
"Come on, Colin. Please show us." Said Link
The boy sighed in a slightly irritated voice. He decided to do it, but mostly for Link. He pulled out the crystal, touched it, and transformed into a cub again.
Everyone gasped and all went "aww." Then he felt Fluttershy picking him up, hugging him close to her.
"You are sooooo cute." Fluttershy said while nuzzling his face against hers.
"Stop it." Colin laughed. "Could you please put me down?"
"Oh, sorry, sweetie." then Fluttershy gently put him down. "You just look so adorable like this."
"And those cutest wittle paws." rarity baby talked.
"Totally awesome." said Rainbow
"There is no need to be embarrassed, Colin." Said Applebloom.
"We think it is really amazing." Bon Bon added
"Thanks." Said Colin blushing. "so Link, can you please show me your wolf form?" Colin asked
"Sure." Link got out his crystal now and touched it, and transformed into a wolf too. He was a little giant compared to Colin, who was only a pup, or a little bigger than an average pup would be like.
"Aww, now you guys looks like brothers." said Lyra
"So adorable." Bon Bon added
"Wow. that is so amazing, Link." the boy said in awe.
"Thanks. I look cool, don't i?"
"So, why don't we show you around ponyville?" Twilight offered. "I'm sure you'll love it."
"Sure. But.... I want to train some more with him."
"Oh you want to spar with me?" Link asked curiously. "I guess you could use the practice and see if you remember anything I taught you."
"Can we watch?" asked Spike
"Sure. We don't mind."
"I don't mind. I want some people to watch me how strong I am anyway." Colin said. He, Link, and the others went to another part of the field, not far from the picnic area, and found a good spot. Link pulled out his Master Sword and Hylian Shield, and Colin pulled out his Ordon sword and Ordon shield.
The ponies and Spike were ready to see what will happen and hoped they will be amazed by anything soon.
"Don't forget the first thing to do before we actually spar."
At first, Colin didn't really remember for a second. "Oh yeah. Now I remember." then he and Link did a sword swing to one another, making a huge clang sound. Now they can began the training.
"Alright, buddy. you ready?"
"Yep. Let's go." Then he and his god brother were sparring. The boy was getting better and better, and was blocking really amazingly. He knew a correct time to strike at Link, but of course, Link would always block every move Colin would try to inflict on him.
"Not bad, kiddo. But do you remember any hidden skills I taught you? Let's see what you got with the helm splitter."
"Right!" Then Link was about to do a powerful strike, but was halted by Colin's shield and then felt him stroked by his sword from behind after he jumped in mid-air to another side of him.
"That is so amazing." Rainbow said. "Not bad for a kid."
"Awesome." Said Applebloom
"Good, not what about the back slice?"
The boy nodded and jumped sideways, did a roll, and slashed Link in the back. "How's that?" Colin asked. "I hope I didn't hurt you too much."
"Nah. It's not that bad. I suffered worse before, so don't worry." Colin was absolutely right to idolize Link as his hero since he us as tough as a Goron elder. "Now how about the jump strike?"
Colin did a battle pose and combines his sword and shield together. He took a breath, and struck Link in his shield the the first strike, and then did a powerful jump attack, that made Link fall to the ground.
"Oh my goodness." Said Fluttershy. "He is such a good learner."
"He is like Link." Twilight added."so brave, and skilled."
"Amazing. Still got it. "Now try the mortal draw."
"Okay." Then Colin put his sword and shield away and when Link was about to strike him with the Master sword, Colin drew his weapons out and stroke Link.
Everyone cheered on at Colin. "Woo! Very cool, Colin!" Lyra cheered.
the boy smiled at how he was being praised for improving his skills, thanks to Link. What would Colin be without his brother figure? He and Link continued clashing their swords one another in this training.
"Perfect." Link said. "Now, the Great Spin."
"Right."
Colin readied himself for the spin, and then his sword gleamed a light, then performed a large spin attack almost as big as Link's. It was so powerful, that the Hylian shield came flying out of Link's hands as soon as it impacted it. Of course it didn't really break, because the shield was invincible and indestructible.
You okay, Link? I hope I didn't injure you."
"Don't worry. I'm fine. That was pretty incredible Colin. I am so proud of you." Link congratulated. "Your parents would be really proud of you."
The boy smiled and frowned after that. "If i ever see them again." he said
"Oh Colin. We'll get back home. I promise." Link said, putting a hand on his shoulder. Colin looked up and Link smiled at him then realizing that he was right, he smiled back at him. Everypony and Spike went up to him and cheered for his skills and improvement
"Colin that was amazing!" Spike exclaimed
"Yeah, you were really awesome." Rainbow gave him a gentle jab on his arm. The boy smiled at her compliment. It felt like back home when Malo, Talo, and Beth would congratulate him for his sword skills improving.
"Thanks. I did good, didn't i?"
"You sure did, kiddo." said Applejack.
"You are quite an expert with that sword." Rarity added.
"Very wonderful." Fluttershy added.
"Well, I think we are probably worn out by that training." Link pointed. "How about we wrap things up and head back to town." Link said. Everyone minus Colin agreed with him and replied many statements of agreement. "You'll like Ponyville, Colin. It's a pretty nice town."
"Ponyville? okay?" was all the boy replied.
"Yeah, you'll love Ponyville." Pinkie said excitedly
"Why don't we show you my cottage first. Do you like animals?"
"I love animals." Colin said with a smile
"Good, because I have lots of animal friends in the cottage.
"Try turning into a wolf and talking to them. It also helps you with that."
"Really? I always wanted to talk to animals." Colin said. talking to animals was one of his lifelong dreams, besides being a hero like Link is of course.
"come on then."
Then they all head back to town after they wrapped up their picnic.
In town, many of the townsfolk noticed Colin, and many mares thought he was really adorable and thought he was also Link's brother since he is wearing the exact same clothes as him.
"Here it is, Colin. Ponyville." Twilight said.
"Wow. It's very beautiful." he said in awe. He really hated to admit it, but he thought it looked more beautiful than Hyrule Castle town. Then he noticed the large castle on the side of the mountain in the background. "Um, Twilight, what is that castle over there?" he asked curiously
"That is Canterlot. It's the Capitol of Equestria, inside the castle is Princess Celesti and her sister, Princess Luna."
"Who are they?"
"They are in charge of everything in Equestria." Said Rainbow. "They are very kind to all of us and love us all."
"Celestia is the guardian sun, and Luna is the guardian of the moon." Rarity added
"Wow. That's amazing. They kind of sound like pony versions of Princess Zelda. Well, she isn't in charge of of any star. She has the Triforce of Wisdom."
"We know, Link told us about the three Triforce pieces, didn't ya Link?"
"Yep."
"Celestia and Luna would love to meet you if you would like to." Twilight suggested
"Oh. That's awesome, but I don't know if I would want to immediately. I... I just need to get use to his place, that's all."
"That is perfectly alright with us, Sugarcube." Said Applejack. "We'll show you around Ponyville later on."
"Meantime, why don't you stay with me in Fluttershy's cottage til we can get back home, alright?"
"Okay, Link."
"Oh I just know you'll love it." Said Fluttershy in excitement. They all followed her down on the outskirts of Ponyville and there was her cottage. "Here we are." She opened the door and a few of her animal friends came up to her, very happy to see her home.
The critters were a few squirrels, and chipmunks. They all followed her inside, and the boy was really fascinated to see that a cottage would look like a forest. It kind of reminded him of Agitha's bug palace in castle town, except it was not just bugs, but many types of creatures.
"Hello, everyone. We have a new face that is going to be living with us for a little while." Fluttershy said
Many animals looked at Colin and many of them curiously walked up to him, realizing he was like Link. A few small animals placed their paws on his feet.
"Aww look, they look you."
"Try talking to them." Link suggested.
The boy nodded and turned into a wolf pup again. He walked up to the group of animals and nervously said to them. "H-hello."
"Hello." They all said to him in reply. The child smiled at hearing voices from animals and knowing what they might feel.
"My name is Colin." He said
"Well, nice to meet to, Colin." Said a badger. "You new hear?"
"Hm-mmm."
"Well, come with us, kid. We'll show you our friends here." Said Harry the grizzly. Then the pup followed the group of friendly animals to another part of the cottage interior, introducing him to other animals.
Link and a Fluttershy watched as the animals were liking him already. "Thank you for taking him in for a while, Fluttershy." Link said with a smile.
"Oh of course. Anything for a friend." Fluttershy replied. "He will love it."
"I really hope that he will see his parents again." Spike said, a little worried about him.
"I hope so too. Celestia dn Luna will probably figure something out, right Twilight?"
"Well, I wouldn't count on it, but they will try and do what they can to help." Twilight said.
"I see."
"Well, we should still show him around and get to know him better." Lyra suggested
"Totally." Said Rainbow.
"Right." Link said. "But for now, let him adapt to this place."
"Right." Then they all continued on watching the boy talking with the animals in his wolf form.
