Rainbow is unaware of what happened to her comrades. She was still at her post at the palace, looking around in fear while marching backward. Rainbow feels that if she doesn't see the scary stuff, the mare won't be scared, right?
"Hup, 2, 3, 4..." Rainbow said as she trots on backwards; So far, so good. Suddenly Rainbow felt something on her back, causing her to scream in terror. The pony turned around with her eyes closed and slashes like mad with her sword. Once she stops, Rainbow opens her eyes and saw...only a plant that is now a stature of herself getting scared. "Oh, hey there," Rainbow said with a chuckle. Suddenly she hears another noise and turns around. The scared hero saw...three familiar Diamond Dogs wearing big heads. They all screeches while booming, "Booga, booga, booga, booga!" Of course, after a while of doing this, the trio stops as they notice that she is just staring at the foes, unimpressed. "Beat it, you guys."
"I told you morons these masks wouldn’t work." Rover scowls at his colleague as they remove their masks, revealing their real faces. "Time we go to plan B."
"Hey, I know you! You're the bad guys!" Rainbow exclaims, recognizing the Diamond Dogs. She got her sword out, aiming it at the enemies. "Don’t move!"
The Diamond Dogs of course look at Rainbow bored...then took out their two by four weapons, aiming right at her. As a response, Rainbow Dash screams in terror before putting her sword on the plant she slashed earlier. Then the cowardly hero kicks the plant itself out of the way and run out of the palace as fast as she could. Rainbow ends up in alley. "Oh man, what do I do now?" Rainbow asks in concern. She spots a barrel and opens it before hiding inside. The hero hopes that the Diamond Dogs would pass by...but then Rainbow hears some familiar laughter. "Uh-oh." Rainbow yelps as the barrel begins to bounce. She tumbles, grunts and yelps, getting hurt by the bouncy ride. Soon it was over before the lid was opened, revealing the bad guys peeking in. Obviously, the Diamond Dogs weren't fooled by Rainbow's pathetic attempt at hiding.
Rainbow screams in terror then goes out the other way of the barrel...then hitting something, finding something clanging down onto her neck. The mare tries her best to struggle to escape. It didn't take long for Rainbow to realize what she's in a certain execution device. "What's going on?" Rainbow asks in concern. She then gasps and saw a painting of Discord, dressed like a king while laughing cruelly right at the sad Fluttershy in a cage. "What is this?!"
Rainbow gasps as she saw some gravestones with certain names on them, "Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie" The hero turns to see a familiar villain behind the shadow, "Captain Discord!'
"Oh, I am in a good mood." Discord remarks evilly as he smiles. The villain grabs the handle of the guillotine.
Discord pulls the handle, causing the machine's blade to go right at Rainbow's neck. The winged mare yelps and tries to get her head out with all her might to escape. Rainbow manage to escape and gallops off with the angry Discord chasing her, snapping, "Hey, come back here, you little winged freak!"
Discord went inside the guillotine in an attempt to catch Rainbow...but realize that his tail is stuck. The villain tries to get it out as best as he could. Discord then hears a klang sound, making him yelp. Fortunately for Discord, only the back of his uniform was cut off. And as Discord pulls his tail off.
Back at the palace Spike, rushing something, quickly rush to the area where Twilight's following.
"Twilight! Twilight!" yelled Spike.
"Spike? What is it? Is there something wrong?" Twilight asks Spike.
Spike nods as he quickly heads down a hallway, making her to follow him. They arrive at the scene where Pinkie was supposed to be on patrol...but she wasn't there. "Hey! Where's Pinkie Pie?" Twilight asks.
"I don't know. And where's Rainbow Dash?" Spike asked.
"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight exclaims with a look of horror on her face. The unicorn and the dragon rush over to where Rainbow is posted at...but found only the cut out plant statue. "Something's strange is going on here."
Suddenly they heard a creaking noise, making them turn to see a night stature shaking like mad. "Who’s there? You better come out of there or I’m coming in for you!" Twilight demands. Just then the helmet opens and reveals Rainbow who came out of the stature.
"Rainbow Dash? What's going on? Come down from there! Why aren't you at your post?"
"We got to get Pinkie Pie and get out of here!" Rainbow exclaims frantically to Twilight.
"Pinkie Pie? Where is she? She’s not at her post either."
"Oh no! He’s already got Pinkie Pie!" Rainbow exclaims in fear.
Rainbow grabs Twilight and quickly prepares to escape with her friend. The purple unicorn said, "Wait! Who’s got Pinkie? Rainbow...stop!" As the purple unicorn quickly got her arm freed from Rainbow. "Rainbow, are you out of control?"
Rainbow quickly talks to explain of how Discord is planning on overthrowing Fluttershy and locking her up to become king. The captain was a villain all along and is planning on killing off the new recruits. Rainbow then tries to explain that the remaining gang must escape before Discord kills the rest of them.
Of course, because Rainbow was talking so fast, Twilight and Spike couldn't understand her. They look at her oddly before Twilight spoke, "Rainbow, I couldn't understand a word you say."
"No!" Rainbow exclaims as she grabs Twilight then run out of the palace.
"Put me down! Whoa!" Twilight exclaims to Rainbow. "We can’t leave our posts like this! What would Captain Discord say?" said Twilight.
"Captain Discord is the bad guy!" shouted Rainbow.
"Captain Discord is the bad guy?" Twilight asks in shock As they got out of the palace, the unicorn manages to grab a statue before getting herself freed from Rainbow's hold. Twilight lands on the ground before saying, "Wait! Discord’s trying to kidnap the princess?"
"Exactly!" Rainbow explains to Twilight with a nod.
"But he made us musketeers."
"It was all a lie." Said Rainbow.
"A lie?" Twilight asks Rainbow in sadness. Discord has lied to Twilight and her friends. However, Twilight looks seriously as she spoke, "Well, lie or not, musketeers do not run from danger. And as long as we keep these uniforms, we won't either, right? And that’s what friends are for."
"You got it!" Rainbow exclaims...then rips her uniform off to reveal her true self. She takes out a luggage "It’s everypony itself!"
Rainbow puts her luggage on her hoofs and prepares to make a flight for it. Twilight looks shocked.
"Rainbow, wait!" Twilight exclaims, causing Rainbow to stop. As the mare looks back, the purple unicorn continues, "Together, we can stop Captain Discord. You remember how we rescued the princess?"
"I was hiding." Rainbow explains.
"Hiding? Well tonight, you came back here to warn us and that took courage, Rainbow" said Twilight. "Come on. I’ll be right on your side because were friends." Twilight said to Rainbow with a smile.
Twilight reach out a hoof for Rainbow to take. The rainbow pony pauses a bit in hesitation, then she turns away saying, "I just can’t. I’m sorry."
With that, Rainbow flies off in sadness. Twilight calls out, "Rainbow!" But it's too late, the scared pony was long gone. "Oh Rainbow..."
Twilight and Spike look down in sadness. Pinkie Pie has gone missing. Rainbow quits the group.
Suddenly Spike sniffs in tears and holds up Twilight’s hat and said in a sad tone "Twilight..."
Twilight looks at Spike in sadness and gave her hat back "thanks Spike."
Suddenly the two hears a familiar laughter, making them turn to see Discord arriving, with an evil smirk. He said evilly, "Well hello there. If it isn't the one musketeer..."
"Captain Discord, with the power of friendship as a musketeer, I arrest you, mister!" Twilight snaps.
"That’s a good one. Well how about this. With the power of chaos, I clobbered you!"
Twilight quickly takes her sword out but Discord quickly hits her with his fist, knocking the hero out.
Twilight woke up a while later, finding herself being held by Discord who has her in a cage "Hey there! Hi there! Ho there! You’re as welcome as can be" Discord laughs evilly and Twilight gives an angry smirk to his face. The villain is taking the hero into a dark and spooky dungeon. Discord opens the door to the dungeon, taking Twilight in while humming mockingly.
Discord threw Twilight into the chamber on purpose, then pretends to apologize, "Oopsie, daisies. I am such a butterfingers."
Discord manages to climb down the ladder into the chamber, picking up Twilight who demands, "Hey! Put me down! Don't make me have to whoop you!"
"Ok, fine. Just hold still you mule." Discord snaps as he hold the struggling Twilight then chains her to the wall by the waist.
"Well, Twilight Sparkle, this is the end of the line." Discord chuckles evilly.
"Guess so? My friends will be right behind us" said Twilight.
"Oh sure. The rainbow pony left you! Remember?"
Twilight looks down a bit, but kept on with her hope. She adds, "Well...Pinkie then!"
Discord scoffs a bit, saying "The pink one? She’s getting fitted for a halo."
"No, no, no!" Twilight exclaims in horror and worry.
"Yes, yes, yes!" Discord snaps evilly as he grabs Twilight. "Face it, Twilight. It's all for one and you are all by yourself!" Discord taunts Twilight to the ground. As Discord climbs up the ladder, he spoke "Enjoy your brief stay here at Tartarus prison. You know, they say the tide comes in faster than ponies. So long, mule! I got me tickets to the opera a little something called ‘I Just Can’t Wait to be King.’"
Discord laughs wickedly as he got to the top of the ladder, slamming the door on his way out. Twilight looks saddened and took her hat off. Twilight sighs in sadness as she tosses her hat. The poor unicorn buries her face in tears as she cries, waiting for her inevitable fate.
