Yonder Wandered Fluttershy

He was Alpha-one. The last true foot soldier of the foot clan or that’s what he would like to think, it was true that he was the last of the original existing foot soldiers of his production line under his previous creator. Any other tall gaunt masked individuals were more recently built from the blueprints he found when he finally found the desecrated place responsible for his birth after having been lost for a long time. His first plan to deal with the humans and the mutant turtles that defeated him was quite frankly idiotic in the extreme. He just spent a lot of fruitless time sending people to dimension X inside the very place that could just as easily bring them right back to where they belong.

Alpha was a greatly flawed individual with a spottily upgraded artificial intelligence that made him go rogue. Thus far the big headed machine hadn’t been capable of ending a life, but it clearly wasn’t for his lack of trying that led to so many problems. He was actually quite effectively programmed to kill in self defense after all and anything he vaguely considered offensive to his existence would have been killing in self defense. So just for being alive the biological being with four hooves was already on his list to eventually kill.

The Technodrome had a chaotic energy field which was a dimensional warping device that allowed the Technodrome to go anywhere, anytime and anyplace at the cost of a massive amount of energy. So it shouldn’t have been a surprise to Alpha-one that the people managed to come back from being displaced to the same dimension that he was sending others to because at the time the Technodrome had the energy for it. The controls to the dimensional warping device were not that hard to figure out for a single human and that was before this place was wrecked to the point that the ingenious but energy inefficient device became almost irreparable.

Once Alpha-one got a task-force of foot soldiers built he had them repair the outer shell of the destroyed Technodrome so it could hold oxygen once more. The production of some things would have been harder without air otherwise, such as welding parts together to build laser rifles or make folded high grade titanium swords. He had them rebuild the generators to run on a different strange power source and also used what amounted to wild guessing to get the dimensional warping device back up and running. These were the only two things the Technodrome needed to be operational aside from the gravity device for propulsion which was surprisingly undamaged despite ninety percent of the Technodrome becoming entirely inoperable and being overrun with wild plant growth. It was little wonder the Technodrome was currently randomly warping to different places in space, possible even time and dimension too.

Alpha had plans to get revenge on those mutated humanoid turtles that had likely forgotten he existed once they sent him packing back into dimension X with slightly different coordinates. Oh Alpha would like to blame the biological quadruped for all the problems happening with the Technodrome at the moment, but Alpha couldn’t logically do that.

Of the things Alpha did in the repairing of his birthplace, he tried to rebuild and take control of the idle defenses and that was his biggest overall failure.

The first failure was the machines known as the Roadkill Rodney’s, they just randomly patrolled the Technodrome and they even drilled holes through it at random and popped up in innocuous places. Their cable whips were just as deadly close up as their lasers were at long range. After Alpha activated them, they went about their job to protect everything on-board and ignored any commands given to them as their programming was something Alpha couldn’t exploit like that of his brethren. At least they were doing their jobs actively.

The sentry drones were the second failure, they only had a limited proximity of activation and they’d chase the target as long as they could see them. Otherwise they’d return to their designated protection zone and were easy to build on such limited resources. Like the Rodney’s they were impossible for Alpha to control except when it came setting up points for them to defend, which was a limited success since they don’t report back to him about intruders. They and the Rodney’s didn’t do anything to stop Alpha’s biggest failure from getting out of hand.

The ultimate failure was when he decided to bolster these already useful if sparse defenses with one of the Big Mousers, the reason why this was a big failure and a huge mistake is because of who the original creator of the Mousers was. Baxter Stockman a person that was once human was the original inventor of the Mouser robots; he was once a bright mind until he became stuck as a horribly mutated fly monster in his dealings with the original owners of the Technodrome. Some time before he completely lost his mind from his affliction and disappeared into limbo through a dimensional portal, he left a bit of viral programming behind that would make the Mousers run rampant if they were ever activated again.

Thus the lower portions of this space bound fortress was crawling with these metal mouthed monstrosities called Mousers, they ate through a lot of Alpha’s rebuilt army before he could collect his wits and force them to stay down in the bowels of the ship. It was because of this incident that he had been in a constant struggle to keep the generators activated while continually building new Foot Soldiers to deal with the infestation.

Alpha couldn’t have known this would happen because he wasn’t aware of anything that led up to the Technodrome being in the poor state he found it in. At least he had the foresight to sequester a supply of vehicles in the upper portions of the Technodrome including the fighters, hover bikes and a few rovers. All the other vehicles he had the foot soldiers working on were left behind in the places they were made when Alpha’s forces were forced out by the Mouser incursion.

Now Alpha had an unknown biological quadruped entity running around the Technodrome about to do who knows what, who knows where! The being could still feasibly even be alive from the long fall given it had the ability to manipulate atmospheric conditions and it could fly. The being was obviously a mutated creature of some type and with incredible powers to morph its genetic structure as if on a whim to heal from damage. At least that’s what Alpha thought when he saw the shift of its right wing going from a chiropteran design to avian.

Despite himself, Alpha’s curiosity got the better of him as to where this creature could have come from and he was going to interrogate it harshly in the operating theater. Nothing should have gotten on board while the dimensional field around the Technodrome protected it from all outside attacks no matter what dimension, place or time it appeared at. He would have done a lot of things that were definitely survivable for a horse, even if it would have been excruciatingly painful as that was the closest reference he had for what the creature that had escaped the cell-blocks was. It was obviously smarter then he would have ever given it credit for to have escaped with just the glass knife. They had just finished making that cell just for the morphing equine that gave off a strangely pleasant energy signature too, Alpha wanted to know its secrets and how it broke into his fortress.

Alpha mechanically lifted his head upwards and saw something from one of his soldier’s transmitted points of view that brought dread to his cold hard logical mind; the equine has managed to restart the plague of Mousers again. He had just gotten started on finishing off the previous Big Mousers forces after having fought a long hard battle to stop it from spreading more of those little nuisances dead set on destroying his glorious army. How in all of existence had that one biological managed to start another Big Mouser? Oh right, mousers were originally made as biological pest detection machines and that equine was definitely a pest to his grand schemes. He had to stop this before it got worse, he mentally commanded his vast army to get every available vehicle that could travel throughout the Technodrome to move on that equine and end her existence. He could figure out where the biological came from after it was dead and stripped of its flesh for study!

Alpha’s orders were immediately being carried out by his forces within the split second that he had learned of what was going on, he himself promptly turned and exited from the room with the large square screen that was the dimensional warping field. He would return to earth eventually and destroy all life on it, failing that Alpha would make sure that at least the winged equine met a fate most unpleasant for ruining his plans of owning an empire built in the glorious image of the foot clan.

The leader hopped on a hover bike and immediately set off to deal with this personally as well as have every available foot soldier start another Mouser purge. This would be the first step that would lead to him taking over everything in the universe! With the Mousers and the intruder out of the way Alpha’s rise to power would be nigh unstoppable and all biological beings will perish before his might. Alpha-one is an artificial entity that wanted to be remembered by all organic life before they all are wiped from existence!

Roller Wheel the recently named wheelie spun like a top and shredded his way through two sentry drones. He didn’t like any of the mechanical things in this place, they were always aggressive and his carapace was beginning to dent from all the biting monsters. His four pipes could spew magical energy exhaust to increase the speed of his horizontal spin and the exhaust could also do some damage as well. He could also technically fly by repeatedly expelling this energy downwards from his tire, but that could get tiring very quickly.

Once it was quickly proven that the surroundings outside the fast flying thing were incredibly dangerous, Mr. Wheel quickly forgot about the tiny thing with the four flippers and was now searching frantically for his friend Fluttershy. In his haste he was causing quite a ruckus destroying all kinds of Technodrome machinations, thus far none of its incredible rampage got back to Alpha-one because he was too busy with his tunnel vision on a biological nuisance he now sorely wanted dead.

Roller was a strong wheelie and had even managed to rip a Roadkill Rodney in half by jumping while moving at full ramming speed, something that wasn’t hard for a wheelie to achieve if given two feet to pick up any amount of speed. Though his tire still had the patch on it, he was moving unhindered and at full strength while ramming, spinning and in general using his carapace and four biological magical exhaust tubes to full effect.

The wheel puttered his way through the hallways almost blind in the darkened portions looking for any sign of Fluttershy while wishing he had a green carapace wheelie around for those nifty lights on their horns. There was a noise and the wheelie went into reverse up against a safe looking portion of the wall and quieted his body down looking left and right down the long corridors. This place was interesting; it had long straight roomy places to roll, plus a lot of empty rooms to sleep in off to the side. Though all the pointy bits of sharp metal were something Roller could have lived without being anywhere near his soft underside.

A noise came from down the hallway and a large elongated thing with another purple faced laser wielding monster zipped right past the wheelie. Taking the fast thing as a challenge to his existence, Roller sped after it ready to prove that he wasn’t slow.

A wheelie was a creature whose thought processes was in some aspects a bit slow, in comparison to how fast they could go.

Having his one track mind for high speed piqued, Roller chased after the hover bike that was about to get into a large messy affair between a large walking waffle iron and a large metallic slab of what would soon be the equivalent of French toast.

It had only been thirty seconds and Fluttershy still was having problems getting onto her hooves from her position on the floor of the vehicle. A metallic spiraling sphere shot out and landed on the back edge of the transportation device clamping its toes as it uncurled into a metal mouth, one that was hit by the second of Fluttershy’s three shots. Missing at the range of a few feet would have been a little hard to do and Fluttershy was getting better at shooting, it scared her to think that she was getting good at violence.

Reaching up with her right hoof she grabbed top of the left wall of the vehicle and pulled herself upwards to see that ‘The Mouth’ opened up and spat two more spiraling silver balls that were smaller metal mouths at the transport. One fell short and the other Fluttershy quickly brought her rifle around to shoot down in mid flight.

Turning the laser rifle being held by her left hoof and with her left wing on the trigger, she leaned into the inner wall of the vehicle. She fired several blasts at ‘The Mouth’ and did little in the way of actually damaging it. Of course it was more heavily armored then the smaller ones making her weapon all but useless against it.

Fluttershy was trying to discern a way to stop the thing from giving chase or launching anymore when two clinking noises sounded off on the vehicle. Two sentry drones had dropped onto the vehicle, one had landed on the same edge Fluttershy leaned against for support and the other landed in the vehicle itself. She shot the one that landed in the vehicle then swung the rifle at the other to bat it off before it could fire its charging energy weapon.

The sentry rebounded of the wall and entered the chasing monster while exploding causing ‘The Mouth’ to stumble before it managed to catch it footing to continue the chase. Its eyes lit up brightly looking to be charging for something.

Recognizing it as something the sentry drones tended to do, Fluttershy ducked as two beams scorched over the vehicle and the right back portion of it exploded causing it to catch on fire. It was like she didn’t have enough problems to deal with already. Did it have to have powerful lasers on top of creating those smaller things? Oh and the vehicle not only is not only out of control, but the back right portion of it is on fire as well and her ears were ringing almost constantly now from all the exploding machines out to kill her.

“Fluttershy you’ve got company incoming and oh… never mind I can see you’re already little busy with entertaining guests. Anyway something’s up with the purple masks and they are all converging on you, they look to be bringing out some pretty big guns too.” Discord’s voice could be heard clearly through the saddlebag the memory stone was in. Discord noticed Fluttershy grimace as she continued to fight off more waves of metal mouths being launched by ‘The Mouth’, trying to shoot them before they got onto the vehicle and started eating away at it. The mare was only partially successful in keeping them off as some of them managed to do some damage to the back end of the vehicle before they were destroyed. “There is some good news at least, it seems you’re little wheel friend is on his way to help you.”

“What, doesn’t he know how dangerous all of this is! He could hurt himself trying to come help me!” It was actually surprising to hear Fluttershy become angry, it did wonders for her adrenaline levels as she blocked a metal mouth from biting down on her with the midsection of her rifle. She swung the little maw off to the right side of the vehicle before it could clamp down to tightly and destroy her weapon by biting through it.

The flying vehicle suddenly nosed downwards and slammed into the floor dislodging Fluttershy from her standing position causing to tumble towards the back end as it scraped against the floor. Several metal mouths appeared climbing up the front of the vehicle and Fluttershy rolled onto her back from her left side and took aim between her legs with the rifle.

There were five of them on the front of the vehicle, she started shooting and didn’t stop until the rifles barrel started glowing red and it stopped firing shots. She had nailed all five of them, but her rifle wouldn’t fire as two more metal mouths climbed up the front of the quick moving transport that was now ascending a slope. Fluttershy shuddered as she could see hundreds of metal mouths swarming the floor that the vehicle was passing over now at a good clip. All of those mouths were trying to jump onto the transport as it rose too high for them to reach, for the moment at least.

“If I wasn’t so sure that Fluttershy was about to die, I’d think this was the most awesome action movie I have ever seen starring my best friend.” There was a slight sad crack in Rainbow’s voice as she hiccupped, from what Fluttershy could hear it sounded like she was sobbing.

Fluttershy couldn’t worry about Rainbow at the moment as she smacked the first incoming metal mouth off the left side of the vehicle with a back hoofed golf swing and got the rifle underneath the legs of the second and heaved upwards launching it out of the back of the transport and into ‘The Mouth’ and it’s open maw.

There were quite a lot of explosions as the ‘The Mouth’ stumbled and slammed to the floor crushing quite a few of the smaller metal maws. It had fallen behind and out of sight but that didn’t mean Fluttershy had lost it. She wasn’t about to celebrate an early victory as she stood up trying to find her balance in the vehicle as the left side of it slammed into the wall. She moved her rifle onto her back and steadied herself on three hooves before moving slowly towards the front and lunged for the controls as the vehicle started to list to the right while slowly rolling over in that direction.

She grabbed the controls pushed anything that looked like it could move to the left and the vehicle righted itself before it dumped Fluttershy into the horde of mouths clambering over each other to rip her to shreds. The vehicle rotated so to the left and the top of it slammed into the left wall before Fluttershy could get a good grip and she lost her hoofing. She fell into middle of the left side of the vehicle gasping in pain as she fell on her fractured leg, the vehicle slowly right itself so that it was flying upright while continuing to go up the gently curved slope.

“Fluttershy if you can hear me, you need to hold on a little longer! You’re up one floor and you need to go another one to reach the floor where the energy source thingy is! Come on Fluttershy, my Pinkie Sense says you can make it and we don’t want my Pinkie Sense to become a liar now do we?” Pinkie was trying to sound encouraging; her straight hair from what Rainbow, Rarity and Discord could see was a different story.

“I think my leg is actually broken now… at least the bindings are helping. Wish I had found a splint to go with it.” Muttering that last part as she stood up with tears in her eyes, Fluttershy limped up to the controls again, after a moment of looking it over she hit something on what she assumed to be the steering mechanism now and a bright bolt of red ripped through the mechanical mouths in front of and slightly below the vehicle at it continued its upward journey. Well she now knew what fired the forward gun at least; it was far more potent than the laser rifle she had laying across her back. If she could just get it there, she’d use it to do something to the energy source.

Fluttershy didn’t know why her rifle had stopped firing or how long it need before it could fire again, but that became less of an issue as she slowly got a hang of the controls and they were bit complicated to work with hooves. She wasn’t really all that ready to give up on herself as easily as her friends were.

It took a few minutes for Fluttershy to get a rough idea of how to maneuver the vehicle, controlling its speed was another matter entirely compared to controlling the direction it went. Without fingers the fine control aspect was lost on Fluttershy. It was to be noted by the pony that the purple and black humanoid machines had fingers and were the only ones that were capable of using tools and manipulating things like this flying deathtrap. Said deathtrap was leaving a trail of smoke behind it that was easy to follow.

The vehicle was slammed into the right wall on purpose by Fluttershy when she saw another metal mouth doing something rather intelligent. The mouth in question had jumped off another one already in the process of jumping; it managed to get enough height to start eating a hole in right armored wall of the vehicle before it was smashed.

If Fluttershy didn’t know any better, she’d swear the metal mouths were quickly getting smarter. Even if the vehicle was much faster than them, she knew the machines of this vessel weren’t going to leave her alone until either they were all destroyed or she and roller were both dead.
