Rainbow Dash looked at the small powder blue foal in her arms. "He's adorable." She said to no one in particular. Her husband, Soarin chose that moment to walk in to the hospital room.
"Adorable? That's a word I thought I'd never hear you say." he chided teasingly.
"Oh shut up." She joked back "Just the other day you made cookies Soarin."
"Well you asked!" He said indignantly.
A small gurgle snapped them back to reality. "Are they supposed to do that?" Rainbow asked the nurse.
" Yes dear. Babies do that." She said.
"Good." Rainbow said breathing out a sigh of relief. "I'm never gonna be a good mother." she groaned.
"Sure you will." Soarin told her. "I mean.... you might destr-" His wife cut him off with one glare, telling him that if he finished his sentence, that it might be his last sentence. "what should we call him?" He asked, changing the subject.
To rainbow, the whole process was over so quickly. "Flash." Came out of her mouth.
"like... Prince sentry?" Soarin asked inquisitively.
"No. Now . Not Him. Like a flash of light."
The next morning they took flash home when Fluttershy delivered some news.
"I'm Pregnant!" She said excitedly. "Our foals will grow up with each other!" She smiled at the thought. "and~ I hear Twilight's expecting soon~"
