Starswirl's Stars.

The skys the limit.

Pinkie, Fluttershy and Rarity stood outside Sugarcube Corner waiting for Twilight to arrive before they left for Canterlot for the summer sun celebration.
"Yippee! The summer sun celebration is tomorrow!" Pinkie cried.

"Indeed. I have the most beautiful outfit!" Rarity cried before fluffing her mane.

Finally Twilight trotted up behind them. "Is everyone ready?" Twilight asked levitating three suitcases beside her.

"Yep!" They replied.

"But... where is Rainbow and Applejack?" Pinkie asked.

"Oh they're already in Canterlot preparing for the celebration." Twilight said before looking up at the clock in SugarCube Corner. She squinted staring at the ticking hands. "ITS NEARLY 5:30! HURRY GIRLS!" they darted to the train station moving through the busy crowds of Ponyville. Fluttershy caught sight of the train station sign.

"Follow me!" They followed her through more crowds until they got to the bustling train station.

"Okay girls we can relax." They dropped their luggage on the ground panting. It was a long time before the train arrived, they were getting worried because if Rarity got anymore impatient then they would have to cancel the trip. Once the train came they trotted on. The crowds got on the train as well so they went to the back were it was just them they finally relaxed.

"We're on the way to Canterlot!" Pinkie cried. "Canterlot... Canterlot... CANTERLOT!" She bounced over to the window and stared out expecting that Canterlot would be right in front of her. Instead there was just a great big mountain.

"Pinkie!" Rarity snapped. "Could you at least keep it quiet." She took a seat in front of Pinkie and pulled out a small book and started reading.

"Come on Pinkie I'll play a game with you." Twilight motioned her away from Rarity to where she was sitting.

"Okie dokie lokie!" She trotted over trying to read what was in Rarity's book.

"Uhm Rarity..." Fluttershy mumbled. "Can I play the game..."

"Whatever dear." She replied getting annoyed. "Just don't bother me." Fluttershy flew over to Twilight and joined in with the game. The train started moving and so they went to Canterlot.

"I spy... Canterlot!" Twilight cried after a few hours.

"Oh... that's tricky..." Pinkie stared out of the window before spotting the castle in the distance. "Rarity! We're here!" she raced over to the white unicorn who was now asleep. "Oh..." Pinkie retreated back to Twilight. The train screeched to a stop and everypony got out laughing delighted with the journey.

"Now what should we do?" Rarity asked.

"Head to the castle." Twilight responded. They started making their way through the city towards the castle.

At the castle...
Luna and Celestia stood in the middle of the castle arguing about the celebration.

"So we just put the moon down?" Luna asked. "Seriously? Is that all thou shall do?"

"Yes Luna. Summer Sun celebration is more about the sun then the moon. So you'll need to lower the moon quickly." Celestia replied.

"We want a bigger and better part!" Luna stomped.

"Luna don't argue-"

"NO WE WANT A BETTER PART FELLOW SISTER!!" She yelled.

"Princess Celestia... Would you like us to.." Three royal guards marched up and nodded to Luna.

"Yes please." Celestia sat back down on her throne rubbing her forehead while the royal guards dragged Luna to her room.

"NEXT TIME CELESTIA!" She screamed. "I SHALL PLAY A BETTER ROLL!" she was dragged up stairs and down a dark corridor with her room in it. Luna was thrown into her room and with a slam the door was locked. Luna trotted over to her bed and flopped down on her bed staring at the ceiling. "Maybe my night isn't as beautiful as sisters precious daylight." She sighed. She turned her head towards the window. The sun was setting time for the night. She went to the window and raised the moon slowly into the sky. The sun's last rays shone before setting into the distance.

There was a knock at the door. "Come in..." she groaned hoping it wasn't any of those guards.

"Hello Princess Luna." Twilight pushed open the door smiling warmly. "I heard you got in a fight over the Summer Sun celebration?"

"How does thou know?" Luna asked getting off her bed.

"Oh one of the guards alerted me before entering." Twilight replied stepping in.

"Oh really..." Luna shrugged.

"I'm sure we could get you a better part in the celebration." Twilight said hopefully trying to lift her spirit. No such luck though.

"Does thou even know what we want?" Luna turned away from Twilight.

"What? We could do anything!" Twilight stepped closer. "At least just to make you happy."

"We should like a celebration for ourselves!" She smiled.

"Uhm... That's a bit to much don't you think?" Luna's grinned quickly turned into a poker face.

"YOU DISAGREE WITH US?" she snapped. Luna's temper rose instantly hoping to make her point to Twilight.

"I-I'll talk this over with Celestia..." She backed away then flew out of the room running down the hallway.

Luna stared at the wide open door letting the thought sink in. "What did I do..." she thought before trotting to the window again. Her mind went off the incident that occurred and stared at the plain dark sky. "Better do the stars..." she flew out of it into the cool night. Her horn was enveloped in a blue aurora before there was a flash. One twinkling star appeared before her. Another flash came with another star. She flew through the night sky leaving trails of flashes behind her. She looked behind her and thought "That's enough to keep everyone happy." before flying back to the castle. She landed on her balcony then she started trotting towards her room but was stopped.

"Twilight told me your wish." Luna spun around to see Celestia. "No. It won't be possible. Two celebrations? Isn't Nightmare Night good enough?"

Luna's mind just burst into anger. "WHY DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?!"

"Luna... pl-"

"NO NIGHTMARE NIGHT HAS ALWAYS OFFENDED US. WE ARE NOT MONSTERS ANYMORE CELESTIA!" She stamped her two front hooves causing the marble floor to crack a little.

"Luna..." Celestia was speechless at her sisters reaction.

"WE SHALL PREPARE A CELEBRATION FOR US!" She cried. She flew behind Celestia and started pushing her to the door. "And you shan't help us." and with one mighty shove Celestia was outside her room in utter shock. Luna raced over to her table and got out a journal and wrote down ideas for her festival. "It shall pay respect to Starswirl the bearded. I shall call it... Starswirl's Stars!" she spoke to herself scribbling the marvelous idea down.

The next day...

Twilight woke as soon as the first ray of light appeared. She hopped out of bed and woke the others. "Wake up! The Summer Sun festival is here!"

"Today's the day we get to see Applejack and Rainbowdash again!" Fluttershy got up and went to the window. "Look at all the work they've done!" she pointed to the decorations down below.

"Oh my. They certainly have outdone themselves." Rarity stared outside at all the rides. Someone knocked at the door.

"I'LL GET IT!" Pinkie grabbed the handle and opened it. Celestia stood there staring down at the four mares.

"Princess.." they bowed to her.

"Oh Twilight no need for that." Celestia patted her student. "Let's go. Two very special ponies are waiting on the stage." When she said that the four dashed out of the palace.

Celestia trotted after them admiring the decor for the summer sun celebration. She stopped and looked behind her. "I swear I heard a noise..." she started trotting again but the noise wasn't her imagination. She turned again. Nothing. But now she could hear the noise nice and clearly. It was a piano. Coming from Luna's room. Celestia flew up and peeked through the window. Only to find Luna playing her piano. She never told her that! She had real talent. The tune calmed her.. like she was in space. Luna had some serious talent. Celestia started to leave until her ears picked up a familiar voice.

"Did you enjoy our lullaby?" Luna sat on the stool her head facing her.

"Luna. You never told me you had such talent."

"Father taught us when we were young." she smiled at the memories.

"Luna how come you haven't arrived for the celebration yet?" Celestia sat on the window sill.

"We are late? We must go!" she flew out the window in panic.

"Typical Luna..." Celestia flew after her.

Luna sped on ahead. Crashing through clouds and feeling the breeze in her mane. "Tonight is the night we do our celebration." she mumbled to herself.

Last night....

"There shall be green stars!" she drew a dragon made out of stars in her sketch book. "And lights! Yes lights!" she squealed with excitement. "OH and music!"

"Luna.." Celestia opened her door holding a cup of coffee. "Its to early to get up. Will you please go to sleep?" she groaned.

"But Tia! We have got a special celebration to plan!"

"There is no celebration tomorrow and that is that. Now off to sleep." She slammed the door. Luna sat down on the floor still starting at the shut door.

"No celebration for us?" she sighed. Suddenly anger flared in her eyes. She yelled at the door. She threw the book she had planned everything in at the wall. And then flopping onto her bed she closed her eyes and slept.

Luna sighed. She wanted it so badly. Tia wouldn't let her. But she'll ignore her sister. No. She'll do her celebration. Even if it means a punishment. She flew to the town square and landed on the stage. By then a massive crowd had gathered. She shot everyone a big grin. But behind the smile there was only darkness. Celestia landed next to her sister staring into the crowd and a few minutes later it was 12:00 time for the show.

"You ready?" Celestia whispered to Luna.

"I was born ready!" she flew up in front of the moon and raising her front hooves she lowered it down. Meanwhile Celestia flew up carrying the sun behind her. When they were nearly finished Twilight flew in front and in a flash a pink star was fading. The crowd cheered wildly at the show. After a few minutes everypony was enjoying the rides and food.

"That. Was. AWESOME!" Rainbowdash hugged Twilight in a flash.

"DASHIE!" Pinkie bounced on top of Rainbow and hugged her. The others joined in but Twilight gave way and tumbled down.

"Sorry Twilight." The mumbled.

"Good to have them all back." Twilight thought.

"It's okay. We sh-" She was cut off by a voice behind her. "H-Hello Princess Luna. What brings you to us?"

"I invite all of you to a celebration. Honoring the great Starswirl and me. We call it Starswirl's Stars!" she laughed.

"A celebration honoring Starswirl the bearded? I'm in!" Twilight jumped with joy.

"Hold on darling. Why do we celebrate you. Isn't Nightmare Night all about you?" Rarity questioned. Luna went silent and stared at the ground. "O-Oh if I touched something personal you don't need to share."

"Don't worry. I shall tell." Luna took a deep breath and started. "Every Nightmare Night I don't feel good. Everypony still thinks of me as the monster I once was. I'm different now. I don't want to be recognized as a monster. I want to have a proper celebration. Not some scary festival." She sighed.

The mares stared at the princess for a while before Rainbowdash piped up.

"Okay then! So what do we need?" Luna looked up at the girls and they all had a big grin on their face.

Later that night the girls raced through the city of Canterlot to the cliff that Luna told them to meet at. They reached the train station before stopping. "Luna said it was across there." Pinkie pointed to the woods.

"I don't like the look of those woods there..." Fluttershy hid behind Applejack.

"This is for a princess girls. We've got to be brave." Twilight motioned for the others to follow her. They ran across the tracks avoiding all the ponies. "I'm glad I left Spike back at the castle. He wouldn't be able to keep up."

Meanwhile where Spike was...

"ANOTHER DONUT! EXTRA SPRINKLES!" Spike yelled at Donut Joe.

Back to the mane 6...

They reached the end of the forest panting. Twilight stared up at the sky. She then looked in front of her. A dark figure appeared before her.

"Who are you?" Twilight asked preparing her horn in case.

"It is... ME!" Luna flew out at her. "Did I surprise you?"

"Wow Luna your pretty excited aren't you?" Rainbowdash chuckled.

"Indeed. Lay your things out. I shall get ready." Luna flew into the distance while the four mares pulled out their things.

"I wonder what shes doing?" Rarity said sitting down on her picnic blanket.

"I don't know but it must be good she's rushing about over there." Twilight brought out her telescope and started adjusting the lenses.

Luna pulled up 5 clouds and stuffed them together making them one lump of white cotton stuff. She then teleported back to the castle and rushed into her room.

"Princess Luna you may not want t-" The guard that warned her got punched in the face. She eventually got to her room and she kicked open the door. Inside was someone she didn't expect to be there rapidly flipping through her notebook.

"T-Tia?" Luna stammered staring at the white alicorn.

"I... uh..."

"What are you doing.... In my room?" Luna's eyes flared with anger. But she held it back.

"Just doing some light reading!" Celestia put her hooves on her hips and rolled her eyes playfully.

"No y-you ar-" Luna's voice cracked showing the hidden anger beneath. "You aren't doing light reading...." she stared at the book in her hooves. "Your reading my journal!"

"What? No!" Celestia put the book on Luna's bed. "I was cleaning! And I found it! So I thought it was our old... nursery rhymes book... Haha..." she laughed nervously making her way to the door. "Gotta run!" she teleported somewhere else. Luna growled at the door.

"This isn't the last of this." she picked up the journal and tucked it under her arm. Then she went over to the piano and enveloped it in a blue aura. She then teleported it away back to the big cloud. When Luna left Celestia came back in.

"Where is it?" She thought. Then it hit her. "Dammit! She took it with her..." She looked out the window. "Well I shall find her." and with that she shot out the window.
