One fine day in Ponyville, Twilight Sparkle and her friends were sitting in the Friendship Rainbow Kingdom reading their separate books mostly about magic, weather, and parties. Spike then randomly blurted a letter into the fresh crystal scented air. The letter had been from Princess Celestia saying that there was an "emergency"' in Canterlot and that they had to report to Canterlot Castle as soon as possible. As the mane six had quickly boarded the 3:00 PM Canterlot express they had pondered why the princess had called them. Twilight wondered why they had been called, and then said "Perhaps we've been summoned by the princess because someone like Discord or Queen Chrysalis had been brought back from their punishment and is causing chaos or trying to overthrow them?!"
Applejack said "Of course not sugarcube!"
Rarity backed up Applejack and said "Deary why would you think such a horrid thing would happen?"
Twilight explains "Because of the previous events in our life, like the sirens, or the Sunset Shimmer incident. What about Queen Chrysalis or King Sombra or Nightmare Moon!?!?"
Pinkie Pie suddenly exclaimed "But Twilight! Nightmare Moon was just Princess Luna being controlled by dark powers and still she's completely fixed and so nothing could happen!" said Pinkie Pie in a cheerful tone.
Twilight replies and says "I guess you're right Pinkie, lets relax. Hey AJ can we have some of your appletastic goodies?" And the mane six ended up enjoying themselves during their taxing train ride.
A while later during a late night snack "Whoa!" exclaims Twilight as she trips over a loose nail in the cold hardwood floor.
"Huh whazzat... nevermind..." Applejack mumbled in and out of consciousness.
"EEEK" exclaims Fluttershy as she hides under her thin bedsheets.
"Sorry Flutters, didn't mean to frighten you like that. Just trying to get a midnight snack."
"It's alright Twilight, I felt I overreacted just a little too much if you know what I mean." Both girls chuckled in their own little flashback.
Four Years Before
Twilight walked onto the path after she had just met Applejack and Rarity. She had teased Spike by saying "Focus casanova, we have a mission to do! Accidentally Twilight bumped into a certain pale yellow mare. She yelped and started to cower in a bush. Twilight did her best to try to calm the yellow mare down. She said "You okay? I'm sorry for giving you such a fright. It was an accident, I was only trying to check up on the music.
The yellow pegasus replied in a scared, quiet tone "Oh, alright... it's ok."
Twilight cheerfully said "Yay!" Unaware that she had frightened the timid mare. "Whoops!" Lowering her tone almost immediately, "Sorry!" In a hushed tone. The pony had still been frightened but accepted the mulberry unicorns apology. Twilight then asked her name, remembering that she still didn't know her name. "Hey what's your name?"
"Flutter..."
"Whats that?"
"Fluttersh..."
"Could you say that one more time?"
The yellow pony finally exclaimed "Fluttershy! It's Fluttershy!"
As the two ponies silently snapped back into reality, they both realised that they had been flashbacking for almost and hour now and had both been lying on the ground. They both exclaimed suddenly "Oh! My goodness, that was quite awkward!" Then They both chuckled lightly and both went back to bed.
It was a bright morning where the mane six had finally awoken from their deep slumber. They all woke with their own morning messages, "Good morning 'yall." from a tired Applejack.
"My hair isn't poofy!" From a confused Pinkie Pie, but her hair soon enough poofed back up into her usual frizzy pattern. "Oh there we go!" Said Pinkie in an extremely cheerful tone.
"Good morning girls! I feel I got the perfect amount of beauty sleep!" From an energetic Rarity.
Rainbow Dash who had still been sound asleep finally woke from her slumber to suddenly go back to sleep. From her was "grrrmph moar sleeeeep..." and Spike had been up far earlier then the mane 6 ordering food for all their breakfasts. Spike really was a kind hearted dragon, and had been good to everyone because he was such a kindhearted soul. Spike realized that he was missing two mares in the train car. He then noticed Twilight and Fluttershy snoozing on top of each other in a pony pile. Spike made a little "squee" sound and gently prodded them awake, he got a magical hug and Twilight wouldn't let go. Spike then realised he should just go with the flow.
As the mane six arrived at the train station, they got off and spared no haste as they galloped to the castle as fast as they possibly could. They soon became tired and started to slow down. "Hey, wait a second... I can teleport!" Twilight realised. She then teleported her and all her friends to the face of the magnificent Canterlot Castle.
As they arrived, the girls and Spike ~whom had been snoozing on Rarity's luggage~ requested an audience with Princess Celestia. "You sure you wanna do that? The princess is in bad condi-"
The royal guard was cut off when Twilight ruefully stated "By my authority as Princess Twilight Sparkle. You will obey me." With emphasis on obey.
The mane six rushed through the impressively large doors and broke through. What they saw pretty much scarred them for life. They saw Princess Celestia in a large stretcher modified for living in. On her were scars, bandages, gauze, and many gashes in her flesh. Fluttershy and Rarity started to sob and weep on each other while Rainbow Dash and Applejack held their hooves over their extremely frightened faces. Pinkie Pie fainted on the spot, while Twilight was having a panic attack.
Celestia called her frightened friend to her side. "Do not be alarmed Twilight Sparkle. I am alright... For now at least." Celestia stated.
Twilight started sobbing into Celestia's soft fur. "W-w-what happened to you!"
"I am but just an illusion. I've been preparing you and your friends. If you wish, I can give you a spell that will 'wake you up' from your long achieved slumber. But beware young one. What you see and feel will most definitely freak you out to and extent that will traumatize you for life. Heh but I believe that you can bring life and peace to this long dead world. Go, the spell is on my table." Celestia dissipated into thin air.
Twilight with a newfound sense of bravery set out and brought her friends to the now dead princess's table. Twilight stated " This spell will apparently bring us out of our long achieved slumber? I'm not sure. But what the princess said should be safe. Ready?"
The mane six and Spike sans Twilight said in unison "Yes" and Twilight began casting the spell.
Twilight chanted "Wake me from my achieved slumber, the time is now, bring back my connection to the real world. Let us live from this false reality into the real world that exists within our soul. Live to die and die to live. Bring our awakening to our feet! LET US LIVE IN THE REALITY!!!
The mane six and Spike we're assimilated into a black murky portal and everything went pitch black.
