Chapter 11
Fall of Mooneater
It was night out in ponyville, and out on a hill in the outskirts of town were eight figures. Two pegesi, two earth pony's, two unicorn's, a bunny and a young arch-angel were waiting patiently for something. Twilight looked up to the sky as a carriage came flying towards them. It was being pulled by four white pegesi wearing roman like armor. They came to a halt next to the ponies.
"Twilight Sparkle, the princess wishes us to escort you and the other elements to the palace." One of the guards said. Another one eyed Angel and Hope.
"What about those two, should we bring them too?" The second guard asked the first. Fluttershy quickly spoke up.
"Ummm...if you don't mind I would prefer it if Hope comes along with us.....if you don't mind." The four guards looked at eachother deep in thought for a moment and said.
"Very well, and what about him." The first guard pointed to Angel.
"Oh ummm..he never leaves Hope's side." Fluttershy said. The guard only nodded and let them onto the carriage. Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy soon followed. Rainbow Dash insisted that she be left to fly next to them. The guards then took off pulling the carriage towards the castle in the distance. They didn't seem to notice a shadowy figure was following close behind.

Lord Mooneater was flying through the everfree looking for Hope. After what seemed like hours he started to hear voices. The source led him to a clearing at the edge of the forest. He saw four pegesi in armor talking to six ponies, a bunny and a human, or what looked like a human. He stared at the human and noticed that it had wings.
"What about them." One of the pegesi said. Mooneater wasn't listening but he could swear he herd one of the ponies mention the name Hope. This intrigued him as he started to move a bit closer. Casting a short spell to hide him from their eyes he looked at the winged human.
"There she is." He thought as he realised who the creature was. The figures walked onto a carriage and the pegesi took off.
"Oh no you don't." Mooneater said as he started to chase after them.
"Soon Hope you will die along with the pitiful creatures of this world."

Out of the corner of her eye Twilight could swear she saw a faint shimmering in the air. She felt a small sense of dread in the air, but quickly pushed that out of her mind. Canterlot Castle stood tall and wide on the side of the mountain and Hope couldn't believe her eyes. To her it was the most beautiful thing she laid eyes on. One of the guards noticed thais and said.
"I remember when I first laid eyes on the castle, but this is nothing compared to what it's like on the inside." Hope just stared wide eyed as a small tear of joy went down her face.
"It's beautiful isn't it darling." Rarity said to Hope. Hope just stared in awe as the castle started to get bigger and bigger as they got closer. They soon stopped outside a large set of double doors. Two more guards stood on ether side. The guards just stared as they made their way towards the doors.
"Halt who goes there. The castle is closed to visitors at this hour." The guard on the right said. But one of the other guards that escorted the group said.
"The princess demands you let these eight pass. It is a matter of emergency and she wishes to speak with them." The two guards at the door opened the doors and they stepped inside.

Mooneater looked of the castle walls and down into the courtyard. He saw Hope go into the castle with seven other figures. He saw the guards and thought.
"This might be a bit fun." He laughed as he flew towards the ground.
"let us see how well these ponies are at fighting me." He chuckled to himself as he snuck up behind a guard and drew a sword. He made his presence known and lunged at the nearest guard. They weren't expecting this and they quickly fell down dead by Mooneaters blade. This alerted the guards close to where the action happened, and they sprung into action and glared at the assailant. Mooneater let out a giggle as he lunged forword to attack.
"I was right this is fun." He said as the slaughter continued.

The main six, Hope and Angel made their wat into the throne room where princess Celestia was waiting. The group bowed and Celestia started to talk.
"My little ponies," She began " A matter of grave impotence has arrived."
"What is this matter princess?" Twilight asked.
"My sister Luna has informed me that the stars that line aur sky's at night are disappearing one after the other." Celestia added.
"Who would do such a thing?" Rarity said in surprise.
"Ohhh it must be somepony who is very powerful." Pinkie Pie said with some exitement.
"Well who ever this pony is he or she will be getting a load of my hoof." Rainbow Dash replied.
"Ah highly doubt that you'll be able ta handle it RD." Applejack said. Hope just stared and giggled at the antics of the ponies in front of her. Angel Just rolled his eyes and face palmed. Fluttershy was just staying silent as always.
"But princess," Twilight said, " nopony but an alicorn is powerful enough to do that, and the only two alicorns I know of are you and princess Luna."
"I fear that it's something far worse than that Twilight." princess Celestia said.
"If you don't mind me asking......What could be much worse." Fluttershy asked quitely.
"I fear that Equestria might be facing a force of evil that only want's to destroy. A being of darkness that I fear is coming close to acheaving its goal." Princess Celestia had a hint of fear on her voice.
"What could this force be." Twilight asked.
"We call it The Shadow. It's a force of great evil that only wishes to consume all living thing, and I fear that it has its sight on Equestria." Everyone gasped exept Pinkie who was too busy trying to control her twiching tail.
"Uhhhh....Girls I think we might have company." Pinkie said. Everypony in the room looked at her.
"Let me guess, your Pinkie sense." Applejack said. Pinkie replied with a nod.
"Company?," Twilight said,"Who would be in the castle at this time other than us and the guards." As if to answer her question the large doors burst open as a handful of guards came crashing through.
"Your highness there's......" But he was cut off as a sword came flying through the air and impaled him through the skull. Fluttershy let out a scream and quickly ran to Hope to sheild her. Angel did the same.
"Hmmmph, and I wanted my entrance to be a surprise too." A bold male voice said. The dark winged man steped through the door and took a bow.
"Let me introduce myself, I am Lord Mooneater leader of the Deamonta race. I'm sure you understand what I'm here for." Mooneater let out a wide smile as he went up to the dead guard and pulled his sword from him.
"Your here for Hope arnt you!" Rainbow Dash said. "There's no way in hell I would let you touch her." She lunged at Mooneater who raised his hand and grabbed her. He then threw her against the wall behind Celestia. Rainbow Dash then fell to the floor defeated but not out. She staggered to her hooves and glared at Mooneater.
"Who the hay do ya think you are." Applejack said with anger. She took a defense stance and glared at him. Mooneater put his sword away and chuckled.
"If you insist on getting in my way then I will have no choice but to kill you quickly. Though I might just kill you anyway once I'm done with the child." Princess Celestia then took a step forward and raised her wings defensively.
"YOU SHALL NOT PASS" The princess said raising her voice. Luna then burst into the room and took an attack stance.
"YOU WILL ROT IN THE DUNGION FOR THE LIVED YOU HAVE TAKEN" Luna said as she ran towards Mooneater.
"Sister wait." Celestia said but was too late, for Mooneater turned around and delivered a powerful kick to her face which sent her flying into a piller knocking her out.
"Is that the best you could do." Mooneater mocked. Celestia screamed in anger and lunged at him.
"You will pay for this." She said as she shot an energy ball at him. The ball connected and exploded sending Mooneater flying through the air. He landed outside the room and slid across the floor before hitting a wall. Celestia banged her front hoof on the floor and charged up another energy ball, her horn glowing with power. She shot it at Mooneater who dodged it and teleported behind her.
"Too slow." He chuckled as he did a flip and brought his heel down onto her back.
"Princess look out" Twilight said in shock, but again it was too late as the foot connected with a sickening crack. Celestia's eyes went wide as she fell to the floor.
"Take Hope and run" she said fainted. Twilight couldn't believe her eyes. She closed them tight and opened them with a look of anger in her eye's. She charged at Mooneater her horn glowing and her head bowed. She connected and sent him flying to the ground. Mooneater quickly cought himself and stood up. He glared this time.
"I have no time for this foolishness, give me the child now." He hissed.
"We will never give Hope to the likes of you." Rarity said as she ran beside Twilight. Applejack dragged Rainbow dash and the two went behind Twilight. Pinkie Pie bounced beside them and Fluttershy hesitantly went too.
"Stay here" She said to Hope as she went to join her friends. Hope only nodded and held Angel close. Just then the six began to glow brightly as they readed the elements for an attack. Mooneater shook his head.
"Do you honestly think this would stop me." But His words fell on deaf ears as the elements shot a Rainbow colored light towards him. The light struck and Mooneater started to feel a sharp pain. He screamed in agony as he started to evaporate into light. Hope hid her head behind Angel and braced herself. An explosion rang throughout the castle as Mooneater was erased from the world. The six friends slumped to the ground exhausted.
"Is it over?" Hope asked. Fluttershy made her way towards her and huged her close.
"I think so." She said

Litle did they know, in the deepest part of the everfree. A ball of crackling light was slowly starting to grow. A loud bang sounded as The shadow appeared. He looked around and then drove his sword into the ground. But instead of engulfing the ground in darkness, he was shot clean through the air. He growled in frustration as he shethed his blade back into his wrist.
"Looks like I won't be able to easily distroy this planet after all." He looked around some more as he thought.
"I might need to get some more power." He walked around until he came upon some ruins. He went inside and looked at a curious loking statue. He loked at a smal stone slab with writing on it.
"The elements of Harmony bring peace throughout the land." He said. He then grinned.
"Looks like I might have found my power source." He let out a laugh as he started to hatch a plan of attack. He sighed and wiped a tear from his eye.
"But where to find them." He thought.
