Great and Powerful

Author's Notes

Author's Notes:

Well, honestly this fic did better than I could've imagined. I didn't think it was much at the time, but it seems like it came out well. I wanted to add a thumbnail for it, but after about twenty minutes of searching, I flat out gave up. There seems to only be two types of Trixie art in the world: the art where she's sad and crushed, or the art where she's getting shipped to hell and back.
Alright, onto the real reason I'm adding these notes: This story was in fact written on a whim. It took an hour to write, ten minutes to edit, and a very few more to finalize. I realize that the more meaningful fics have the author's heart and soul poured into them. Great and Powerful is not different, with the exception of it being short and written in an even shorter amount of time.
This story means quite a lot to me actually. I can't quite describe why, however. It just hits me with the right pang that is needed to grip my core and shake it. I can only hope I've done the same to those who've read this.
Trixie seems to always get a 'raw deal'. She is portrayed to be hated thoroughly throughout Equestria, and quite frankly, I don't understand why (as you've seen in the story, supposing you've read it). Yet I did think deeper into it, and therefore alluded in the story that Trixie's past was not the brightest for the showmare. After all, being chased out of a small town like Ponyville could hardly dent such pride. That's something that irks me about all of these sad Trixie fics - though she's been booted from Ponyville, it does not mean she's just going to be out of work suddenly with an aptitude for suicide. Not in my opinion, that is.
More of my reasoning involved Twilight. She, at the time, was enjoying having friends. In my eyes, Twilight is a kind, gentle soul with no real ability to hate. So seeing Trixie run off like that would probably make Twilight feel at least a little guilty. I don't have an explanation for how they met, what forest they were in, or what Twilight had said to kick the whole thing off. I left that for the reader to fill in.
I'm glad that I made an impact on those who read. It's a sweet story - it was supposed to be that way - and I'm glad I kept the mood.

A little something: Should anyone want to continue the story, I'd be fine with that. Just contact me first to let me know.

Ah, well here are the notes I had on the story. I don't think the story itself needed them, but I figured I should throw my thoughts out there. Thanks to those who read!
