The Vanishing Star

Chapter 25

If you would have told me last year; that I would visit my old family again to patch things up. I would have punched you in the face. I left all that a long time ago and never looked back. Some of that was a lie, I still had dreams about them. The older I got, the less frequent they would haunt me. Slowly, things were spiraling out of control ever since I made my grand yet, soulful return back to Canterlot.

If you would have told me that there was something more to my family, I would have just ignored you. No. Simply no. Not anymore. I had no idea who this Sirius character was or what was his goal? Word around the fire says; that he was the elected headmaster of the Canterlot academy. A place that plants the seeds inside the unicorn's head and water it enough to make it grow. Little to no surprise, this place had a history with the Sparkle clan and other noble families. Place stayed afloat because of donations and charity drives despite a few scandals taking place here and fraud, relationships, whatever. The school was pretty famous for obvious other reasons. No idea, never went there and thank Celestia, I never had to.

I fought a fierce head ache just to follow my brother around with his wife. Escorted by the big stallion himself; Headmaster Sirius. My brother; Shining Armor was silent. Made a few occasional grunts but I could tell he was mad. Mad about himself; more likely about making an outrageous offer. His wife did the most talking to the headmaster. She kept it formal and respectful, from what I heard at least. Yet, Sirius kept countering with ideas and promises. Poor Cadence, she had the professional look and title of a princess; but her counter arguments suck. If Tex were here to defend these two, he would have gotten them out and left Sirius speechless like he did back at the park. Tex always had that mentality to know what he wanted and stick by it. And this was going nowhere fast. Cadence tried and tried, Shining still remained to only grunts. Probably still mentally kicking himself for the stupid hole he put himself them in.

I remained cloaked as I tailed them. For all the abilities to rain down into my knowledge and power; it was invisibility. And I loved it. I could get away with anything yet, power... Was not for the weak-minded to those that want to throw out the natural order. Oh no. Mares locker rooms. There I said it. Moving on.

"But Headmaster Sirius, the crystal empire is its own nation. Our ponies are still about a thousand years behind, they can't..."

"And they have all the time in the world to learn about today's world." The large unicorn explained in a fatherly yet gruff tone. "With the Sparkle clan's connections, the crystal empire can get the funding they need along with contract deals with royalty's appeal. All those benefits in the crystal empire's hooves, you would never have to worry about the poor benefits ever again. You will gain a decent police force, your own army, hospital with up to date medical supplies and knowledge, you name it."

Cadence let air blow out of her nose softly as her cheeks puffed. With a quick nod, "It's wonderful to hear that you have a plan but..."

"Yes princess. It all sounds like it's still a theory or on paper, but I assure you that I worked with few other nations, many cities and towns with the same idea." Sirius stopped dead in his tracks. Slowly his strong neck turned to angle with Cadence to simply look at her, "And the results were the same."

"And?" Cadence asked.

"Successful." The taller stallion smirked. "Not only that, the town's I assisted with are doing well financially. No pony below the poverty line, fair paying jobs, no crime, a police officer on every corner, well-funded military program, good businesses, good food and supplies." Sirius was too proud of his accomplishments, "I could go on all day princess Mi Amore."

"And what about these other countries you help?" The pink alicorn asked.

"Oh such as, some islands across Neighpon. Villages in Africa, Iceland, Saddle Arabia if you need to ask." Sirius gave another assuring smirk. "Many places across the borders of Equestria."

"I... Should visit these places." Mi Amore stuttered in her reply.

"You really should princess." Sirius encouraged the princess like she was another client.

"But I want to make one thing clear Headmaster Sirius." Cadence stopped in her tracks from the little walk session she was having with Sirius and her husband.

"Yes princess Mi Amore?" Sirius asked.

"I don't need a private military. Not the one you are pushing like the Black Suns because my army is good enough. My magic users are up to date on their spell casting, the fliers are at a standard Wonderbolt level and the earth pony soldiers train non stop." Mi Amore explained proudly. "We have had no threats made on our kingdom in over a years time."

I would run up and hug you Mi Amore for defending yourself but sadly this is where it is going to hurt.

Sirius puckered his strong lips as he let Cadence's explanation rummage through his attention. He was used to ponies telling him 'No' the nice way but he already had his teeth sunk into the prey. He let out a deep cough before he said anything else. Rummaging through his brain to come up with a perfect come back and reversal.

"You say that now princess. Sure your guards might seem fine, but what will tomorrow bring?" Sirius asked. His broad shoulders eased from the tension, "But I can see where you're coming from princess. Your little kingdom has been through so much ever since it just swiftly 'returned' into our century."

Mi Amore finally felt she was breaking through, "Yes. Though I got admit, while they are curious about the outside world, a lot of stuff they are still cautious of. Still some of the new inventions scare them. Not even that, the animals, the outside culture, whatever they held dear over a thousand years ago is not there anymore. Or if it was, its ancient now."

"Like a room full of scared children... Or stubborn ponies who do not want to embrace new ideas." Sirius thought to himself. He cleared his throat with a low thumping growl. "I understand the feeling. Like moving away from home at a young age then coming back to see how much has changed."

That idea... Did stick with me. How much I never wanted to come back to this place. I never cared what happened to it and honestly wanted to stay away forever. Though... The memories would always course through my brain. Some good, some bad. I would be lying that the idea of seeing how this place measures up in fifty years never interested me. Well... Got my answer. From the eyes of a child, to a full-grown stallion. The world is still a scary place... If you got suave talking ponies like Sirius around.

"But the only way for progress is to push forward." Sirius carried on. Still the trio stepped further and further forward through the marble stone pathway of the park's garden area. "Is it not?"

The pink princess of love stammered, "Well y-yes of course it is." With a quick jolt her expression changed from calm to a more pleading look. "I just do not see the idea of my guards wielding the same firepower as the Black Suns. Not only that, but the sudden change could cause a revolt with my subjects, a mutiny even."

"Then they could just pack up and leave if they wanted to." Sirius followed up, "There is a big world out there after all."

Cadence gasped, "Headmaster Sirius..."

"My apologies princess but its time for the civilians of the crystal empire to brush up on their history and realize that the modern world is a better world to live in." Sirius frowned, "They can not say that they do not feel safer in today's times than over a thousand years ago. With all the war and monsters over running small villages."

"That still... Happens." Cadence frowned as her eyes narrowed dead on the large stallion. "The only difference is that you given a scared and cautious group of ponies a high-teach weapon that is capable of blowing a house a part. Do you not see the problem with that?"

"Only if the pony is not trained and not certified. Let alone the pony having it in the first place." Sirius gave that little remark. The princess was not to pleased with the response. It was logical, yet low.

"I-I. Ugh." Cadence grunted as a little sleeve of hair draped over her right eye. "I just do not think its wise yet to invest time and bits into giving my kingdom a private military program when it already has the resources it needs to get by."

"Again princess?" Sirius coughed, "I'm sorry but it's not a private military. Not just that, but benefits of fair trade agreements. Rights, ownerships and shares of programs and businesses al..."

"No. We're fine." Cadence frowned. Dead set on her decision. "It's all tempting, but the kingdom still has its own way of dealing with situations."

"The crystal mines are worthless now princess." Sirius butted in, "They might have been worth a lot for one seller to fool a customer or even royalty but now they're worth next to nothing."

"It's not about the crystal mines! Stop changing the subject please!" Cadence fumed.

"I'm not princess." Headmaster Sirius shook his head easily as if it were a game.

"No, but that's extremely disrespectful." The pink princess scoffed. "My mind is made up. I do not want your representation nor your projects, or the main family poking their business into mine."

Strange how Sirius let Tex walk away but he was practically pressuring the princess. Maybe he had a way with women and taking it out on her. Why did he let Big Tex go with barely an argument? Was that all just a show? Just to let witnesses to see that he was not a bad guy that my grandma made him out to be? So he could not show his ignorant side to us? Well, he is a terrible actor and planner; I can tell you that much. And damn it Shining! Why are you just letting her take it?

"Cadence." Shining Armor put himself in between the two debating ponies. "It's best if we continue this another time."

"No Shining. I do not want to continue this!" Cadence barked. "I'm done!"

"Cadence honey please." Shining put his hooves to her cheeks to make her eye sight line up with his own. "I know it's rough but we can work this out."

The pink princess swatted his fore legs away and hissed, "Do not touch me! I-I ha-had..." Cadence's short rage suddenly transformed into an unwell expression; that of matching sudden sickness. Little did the two know that Sirius had a little glint shining off of his horn, barely able to see unless focused.

"Honey?" The white unicorn shrieked. "What's wrong?" The princess of love quickly turned and squirmed her head away to look for a place to release her sickness. In front of them was a finely cut hedge as she trotted around it. She lowered her head and let the white waste ooze out of her mouth like a waterfall.

"I-I'm fine. I'm just a bit peckish." Cadence heaved.

"I see that you're a bit under the weather princess." Sirius adjusted his glasses with his magic, "I probably should take my leave."

"N-no." Cadence moaned. "I'm not do-done. I wan-want you t..." She excreted more vomit on the grass as her husband tried to comfort her.

"I think we will pick this up at another time." Sirius wretched as the pink princess unfurled again. Then with a smirk he turned away from the too. "By the way... Congratulations." Cadence only replied with another hurl as her face leaked of dripping mascara down her fine toned cheeks.

"Cadence you're sick! Please try to relax." Her husband tried to sooth her as he patted her back.

"Do you need any water princess?" Sirius pulled out a half filled water bottle.

"Thanks." Shining tried to reach for it but Cadence quickly pulled her husband away with one of her fore legs before he could take it.

He cared less about the deal with Sirius, he screwed up once and he knew that. "Come on, there's a medical tent near by." Shining arched his neck to look at the headmaster, "Thanks for trying to help the situation, too bad it went sour."

"It's probably best to get the princess some medical attention instead to dawdle." Sirius remarked, "We will discuss the rest of this later."

Fade Away just stood there with a dull expression as he was still cloaked from the naked eye. By this time, Sirius already was walking in the opposite direction. "How the hell could you just stand by and let that happen?" The invisible stallion asked himself. "Still... I have an idea what this pony is capable of."

Headmaster Sirius... A stallion that pretty much looks like a persuasive talker and does meaningful tasks for the main family. He is pretty much their representative, their avatar, their go-to pony, their gun. I only been here for some days and I felt like this pony is responsible for way more that what happened in politics and business for the past couple of decades. And if I go down the rabbit hole, I figure my hunch will lead me to finding out that maybe he has something to do with Malik's hostage situation. Worse yet, probably the reason Malik's mentor and leader had a thing against Equestria. I just bet that.

A smooth talker; he seemed. Just when some pony brings up a valid point. He somehow has an ace in the hole. Not a good one; more of a sick one. One that causes illness. Could have used something like that during class debates but to cause a severe illness. From what I seen, he made Cadence violently ill that Shining Armor had to carry her out of the park. And Sirius just stood there; all smug, then left. I wonder... I just wonder...

"I could tail him to see where he goes." Fade asked himself, "Or... I could go back to the others then the castle?" He tapped his chin, part of him wanted to run up to Sirius and bash him over the head. Then a sudden realization, "Doubt this will be the last I see of him anyway."

I could follow him, but I was not one hundred percent myself. If he had a sickening aura around him and I got close, I could blow my cover. I was not proud of what I saw, if this pony really was a demon like my grandmother made him out to be; then he affected my life just as much as my family's. I'm going to follow that bastard...

The tall stallion continued to trot down the marble walkway in peace. Enjoying the scenery despite witnessing a royal princess unload her meal on the fresh-cut grass. No; he did not care. He only smiled to put on a positive image to the other ponies passing by and bidding him a good day. Giving him respect and compliments, as well as thanks for giving their children a fine and proper school to learn in. Only made the invisible pony behind him wanting to gag.

"Good day Headmaster Sirius!" A proper dressed unicorn waved.

"Yes, a good day to you too." Sirius smiled and nodded.

"Keep up the good work Sirius." Another unicorn added.

"Okay, I will." Sirius chuckled. More of the same happened as Fade watched from a manageable distance. The more the ponies paid the headmaster attention, the more Fade Away wanted to lurch. The stallion was practically a celebrity in his own home town and why should he not be? He was in charge of one of the best schools in all of Equestria as well as a representative of the most well-known family across the nation. But under all that positive light, lies a dark self loathing freak.

Before Fade Away knew it, he already followed Sirius into a fancy neighborhood. About one hundred times nicer than the one that the brown unicorn used to live in. Tall houses made of the finest wood and bricks in all of Equestria. The best and expensive paint jobs colored the large and wide houses.

"Not very surprising for Canterlot's élite." Fade Away muttered to himself. "Then again, I live in a manor."

I followed Sirius further until I found out where he lived. No surprise that he lived in the largest house at the end of the street, smack dab in the center too. He pressed a few buttons on the gate to let him in so I dashed in quickly to get in. Once inside, my eyes grazed my new surrounding. Fine cut hedge mazes shaped into ponies or other animals. What else is there to describe a rich household? Multiple story house, a lush green lawn, various colorful decorations, I could keep going. The one I wanted to learn more about was the stallion that was in front of me.

I tried to distance myself enough so I could not drop so much noise and not too far back to lose him. Sirius trotted up the front staircase leading up to his front door greeted by who I assume was his butler or at least his assistant. An earth-pony, well dressed, grey coat, slick blonde mane, fairly young though.

"Did you enjoy your stroll around the park master Sirius?" The butler asked.

"Yes Flint. I had a pretty good trot through the park." Sirius frowned, "Thank you for asking. Just wished things went better as planned."

"I trust that the merge idea did not go well sir?" Flint then trotted behind his employer to take the taller stallion's jacket off.

"Oh, this and that. Pish and posh." Sirius chuckled, "Every time I try to talk to company president, he always klutz around and tells me he is not interested in selling."

"The company is going strong due to their recent success. If that Fade Away fellow did not invent the things he did and marketed them. Then yes the company might have jumped at the chance for a merger." The butler folded Sirius's coat with his own fore legs.

"No pony would be interested." Sirius remarked. "Big Tech was just a business that made sub par toys and trinkets. As usual, Tex is an oaf as every pony says he is and his wife just stands there being quiet and clueless."

The buck did you just say?

"Ah. I will tell you more once we get inside." Sirius patted his assistant on the back and trotted inside. Fade still trying to stay quiet as he could, slipped inside as quickly as well before the large door closed shut.

A strong scent of a sweet musk seeped into my nose. As inviting as any house should be. Something about potpourri did not seem to fit here, despite the place looking like a modern museum. It just feet eerie while standing in the main hallway. I continued to follow Sirius and whoever this other pony to wherever. Luckily they did not go far and what appears to have a fine living room area decorated with very fine made furniture along with bookshelves, a visible bar area, well so far I'm liking it. Yeah, despite it belonging to a sociopath.

"So you were telling me about your dealings with Mr. Tex?" Flint gently placed the jacket over a Victorian era chair.

"As I was saying." Sirius let out a huge sigh as he raised his fore legs into the air to stretch while he laid back into a Victorian era couch fit for three ponies. "Stupid hick said; 'No' again. I was going to further elaborate on him but dumb luck we were standing in front of the prince and princess of the Crystal empire, along with their parents." The tall unicorn easily slid his fore legs to the far reaches of the couch while crossing a hind leg over the other. A smirk graced his maw, "Good to see those two still living like miserable rats like they should."

"You mean Night Light "Orion" Sparkle and Twilight Velvet sir?" Flint raised an eyebrow.

"Oh yeah." Sirius nodded. "Those two failures. Only reason why they're back in the limelight is because of their kids."

"Well yes, they did carry out a lot sir." Flint replied as he sat down in a chair opposite to his master.

"Pfft." Sirius rolled his eyes, "Do not get me started on those two little pissants. None the less, I still helped mold them in what they are today."

Flint was at loss for words so he kept quiet to let his master explain.

"Frankly, I'm surprised they even gotten this far. I never seen Twilight Velvet anymore happier than she was a long time ago, still she's with that piece of garbage ." Sirius focused his attention on the bar cabinet. Swinging the tiny doors open, his magic poured him a glass of scotch. "Want some?"

"No thank you sir." Flint waved at the offer. "But pray, do continue. Do you have a history with Night Light and Twilight Velvet?"

With a simple twirl of his scotch, he answered, "I had a history with their entire family actually. Knew ponies in high places like royalty and knew some dignitaries. But that family..." He took another swig. "I used to be friends, matter of fact we're distant cousins."

"To which one?" Flint asked.

"Both of them." Sirius chuckled, "A big and powerful family like the Sparkle clan practices a lot of things like arranged marriages for one. In a way, it's like kissing your cousin. But they did not think that because Orion was from one side of the Sparkle clan and Twilight Velvet was from another side. Both of them came from respected families, had respectable ancestors. Each family had their own little 'special' technique to pass on. Matter of fact." The tall stallion took another sip to quench his thirst, "Orion's had something to do with eyes."

"Y-yes. I heard about the 'Twilight Eyes' master Sirius." Flint brought up. "I never really thought the technique or spell was true but I don't have a reliable source. I heard the former royal guard; Draco was capable of strange powers."

"One." Sirius coughed as he set his drink down on a nearby table stand, "Twilight-Eyes is a stupid name for it and is only called that so it could go into the royal records. Its real name is called the 'Demon-Eye' or even the devil's name, 'Azazel', which some of the enemies dubbed the wielder; a demon. I seen it a couple of times myself and it's very powerful. Not something that you want to have a child wielding."

"Azazel?" Fade thought to himself.

"Sounds a lot more threatening don't you say?" Sirius smirked. "Thankfully it is a rare blood technique that could be passed down. Not many of the offspring can get it."

"So what can this demon-eye do?" Flint asked with a hint of curiosity.

"If I told you..." Sirius's eyes narrowed. "You are going to wish I haven't."

"I made pointless wishes in the past sir." Flint frowned.

With a quick chuckle Sirius smiled, "I'm sure every pony has. So here it goes." He sat straight up and slapped his knees. "The Azazel is more of a manipulative device that the wielder can use either physically, mentally, or even spiritually. For example, if the one who has Azazel were to be part of politics. He could use this technique to pass anything he wants through persuasion if the victim were to look into the eyes. Not only that, but if you were to ever fight a wielder, they could peer into your mind and cause hallucinations."

"Whoever uses this technique is surely some pony you want to keep on your side. And keep them happy none the less." Flint assumed.

"In theory and good conscience yes. But with the recent generations, the Azazel has weakened to the point where it's not even that threatening anymore depending who has it." Sirius took another sip of his scotch and sighed in relief. "Draco was the last to ever use the cursed thing to the T and he has been dead for over twenty years. His children do not show any signs of having it which worries the main family, same for the grand kids."

"Do you think any of them wield the demon eye?" Flint crossed his legs and leaned in.

"Oh. I know that Draco and that old bag Lucrecia had kids that might secretly have it, but grandkids... I remember two little colts having it where Draco took it upon himself to teach them how to use it." Sirius leaned back into the couch now with a disgusted look, "And go figure, those two belonged to Orion and Velvet."

"Would they so happen to be Shining Armor and Twilight Dawn Sparkle?" Flint asked.

"Nah. Those two are special alright but they can't use Azazel. Thank Celestia." Sirius took another sip from his glass. "Orion and Velvet had multiple pregnancies but over half of them failed because of complications. In between Shining and Twilight, there were twins. Cute kids, but looked too much like their father. Ugh."

"I take it that you did not like Night Light after a certain point?" Flint asked.

"I always hated that piece of shit." Sirius mumbled to himself. "No, it was more like he kept getting his business into mine where he wanted to have my place before I even had it. Believed he can make Equestria a better place, he was on roll and we were competing against each other. Practically splitting our families apart just going to head to head with each other."

"Both held no punches back I take it?" Flint asked.

"Oh no." Sirius shook his head, "We both tried to pull stunts to get more favor from the main family, but in the end. I still won."

"How?" Asked Flint.

"It's a long story. But I will say this, I'm glad that princess Hinata rejected his proposal." Sirius swirled the remaining scotch in his glass before finishing. "That family already had too many connections with royalty already. And... How fitting, a pony that could have been king is now resorting to being a photographer to get by. Of course, word through the grape-vine is that they had help because his daughter being an apprentice and all."

"That's... That's pretty heavy sir. How did he fall from grace?" Asked Flint.

"Oh. I suppose this was around when you were still a colt yourself." The tall unicorn put his glass down on the table next him. "Orion and Velvet got in a heap of trouble for losing one of their children. About nineteen or twenty years ago, Orion was facing some pretty bad heat from the main family and other branches because of accusations. True story by the way, Orion was an abusive piece of shit. Hit his kids from time to time because things were not going his way. Caused one child get removed from the household while somehow the other one stayed."

Sirius levitated his drinking glass towards his assistant. "Can you get me another?"

"Certainly." Flint grabbed the glass with his teeth after he replied. A quick trip to the bar area to fix the concoction then bring it back. "Thank you."

"As for you master Sirius." Flint nodded then sat back down.

"So where was I?" Sirius asked himself. "Right. The child abuse cases. Orion would take his frustration out on his kids. It got way too out of hand that a couple of them kept getting injured. One was pretty bad where Orion seriously bruised and battered the twins that they had to sneak out to go to their grandparents for help. That same night, Velvet found out the twins were missing and called the police only to find them at the hospital. Those two played it up really big but if I ever had to applaud that old bag Lucrecia and Draco, they beat the shit out of Orion and told him they would sue him for custody."

"Hopefully there was justice." Flint frowned from the horrible story.

"Oh yes and no. The main family was getting tired of Orion's behavior and hit hard by taking the twins away. To Lucrecia's suggestion she wanted to give the task to a former student of hers... Dr. Lucia Lorenzo who was studying the DNA code for alicorns then. Some reason, one of the twins stayed with Lucia and the other one stayed with Lucrecia." Sirius took a light sip from his glass and breathed in a sigh. "The court ordered that Orion take proper parenting classes. A year goes by and things were looking good for the family finally. Until."

"Until what sir?" Flint asked as he leaned forward wanting to hear more.

"Well the process of the court order, Orion and Velvet only got one of the twins back while the other was still with Lucia and Sheen. The twin that they had, think his name was Vanishing or Van. Long story short." Sirius then cleared his throat. "Orion decided to take his son out-of-town for his birthday as a family outing for a few days. Problem was when the family came back, little Van did not."

"How big was this story?" Flint blinked. "I can imagine backlash from the citizens."

"The media had a field day with this story. It was on most of the news stations and being talked about for a couple of years." Sirius took another sip then set the glass down. "The story was crazy and for a while I kept hearing different versions from one side saying that little Van ran away, got lost, probably even kidnapped. Another story said Orion killed him and buried him out there, told the other kids to keep quiet or he would kill them too."

"How awful." Flint scratched his cheek. Still his young face wretched with disgust.

"But without evidence that supported the murder idea, those two were let go. Child services did their job of taking Shining Armor and Twilight away. The other twin; Von stayed with Lucia. Pretty much changed his name and appearance." Sirius sighed. "Everything after that. The Dawn branch went lower on the rank, hell even petitioned to cut from the other families not wanting them to be associated with the name Sparkle."

"Then what happened?" Flint asked.

"Orion and Velvet got cut off. Even their own branch family wanted nothing to do with them anymore, just let them suffer. Their house vandalized from time to time, hell even almost set on fire." Sirius smirked. "Ponies wanted them out of Canterlot but the princess helped them out. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, months into years. Ponies eventually forgot about it and went on with their lives. Orion and Velvet did not, the two rarely ever went out."

"Did they ever find the colt?" Flint rubbed his chin.

"No, but there were theories on what happened to him." Sirius grinned. "A lot of them are stupid yet some were practical."

Flint nodded, "I could only imagine sir."

"I have a theory myself, not very popular but some ponies agreed." He cupped his own chin. "What if I were to tell you that... There was a possibility that little Van could have grown up into... Let's say, the noble prize winner; Fade Away of Big Tech?"

"I... Would have to say that it is a bold theory sir." Flint scoffed.

"Oh I don't know... I think it fits the bill." Sirius chuckled. "I think our guest can shed some light on it." He looked up and stared in the direction that Fade was standing in despite being cloaked Fade Away's blood ran cold. With a small gleam of light, Sirius's horn flared a dark red aura.

And with that... I fell to the floor in pain. My eyes were hurting like hell as I held my face. No longer was invisible to the naked eye, I was completely exposed to Sirius and his assistant. Sirius wasted no time walking up to me, peering down with a smirk.

"Well, well, well." Sirius knelt as he continued his spell. "Mr. Fade Away I presume? How long has it been?"

"Ugh..." Fade could only grunt while the pressure in his eyes were building to excruciating levels.

"Should I call the guard sir?" Flint jumped out of his seat then looked at the brown unicorn writhing in pain on the floor. He was already nearby a telephone and ready to dial.

"Nah." Sirius smirked. "I got another idea."

"AH FAUST! Pl..." Fade rolled on his back with his eyes burning red. Blood started to leak down the corners of his eyes replacing his tears.

"Now..." With a dull look; Sirius stood up from his seat to walk over to the twitching trespasser. He knelt and smirked, "What to do with our guest?"

There was no getting out of this... I knew the risks but still went with it by following this creep. Now I was at his mercy. I needed help and fast, but no pony knew I was here. I looked up at the stallion with my bleeding eyes. He asked if I would like a drink but all I did was growl in pain. He poured alcohol on my face... And smirked.

If I just went home earlier...

If I just told Twilight I wanted to pass on coming back...

If I just... Never learned the truth...

Sirious just chuckled as he watched me, enjoyed the pressure in my head building. Like knives diving and stabbing my brain over and over...

"Such a shame..." Sirius smiled. "Young Twilight spoke highly of you. I was really hoping to meet you again under better circumstances .." His neck reared back.

Everything faded to red... Or black...
