Every hundred years, a comet appears above in the sky over Canterlot. The comet was so large one year, it filled the sky and sent countless shooting stars raining down. The ponies brought the shooting stars to the castle where they became a great power star.
It should of been a very happy times for the citizens of Ponyville, and it was the night of the star festival, held every one hundred years to the celebrate the comet.

"The Star Festival! The Star Festival! This is gonna be so awesome!" Scoot said as she followed behind the Elements of Harmony.
"Ah heard it's gunna be pretty and all that!" Applebloom says with a huge smile.
"Well, the book says-"
"Nerd." Scoot interrupted Sweetie Belle.
"...Like I was going to say, the book says that star bits are gonna fall out of the sky. So these ugly looking crystals are going to fall. But their beautiful up close!" Sweetie Belle finished. They reached the Star Festival and they 'Wow'd at the view. The night sky flowed with falling stars, literally. The lamps shined through the night, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders smiled. "This is going to be wonderful!" She said.
Unfortunatley, they stared at the sky to long to realized that the Elements of Harmony were in the castle already. As well...black crystals...shot from the ground, and black deformed ball of crystals fell from the sky and rained onto the festival. With a dashing bit of fire, the tents and everything else near, caught on fire with a blaze of fire!
The Crusaders gasped in fear, and saw the Elements of Harmony, fear upon them with their shaking legs, while Celestia stood ground. Out came of the tall and huge crystal, was King...Sombra. "Hello..." He said with a full...angry tone. "Are you enjoying the festival?"
"Let us go, King Sombra." Celestia ordered. Sombra only laughed, and weird like creatures appeared behind him, standing tall with Sombra. "I don't think so princess. You may have defeated me twice, but third time's the charm." He said with a smile.
Three crystals popped up from the ground, and carved a circle large enough, to rip the castle from the ground. Princess Celestia was frighten, but she still stood tall. The Elements of Harmony were shaken from the castle, lifting up from the air. "P-princess!" Twilight shouted in fear.
What they just notice, is that the Crusaders stowaway onto the castle, barely keeping their ground on what's left of the ground. "Sis'!" Sweetie Belle yelled.
Sombra heard the voice and growled. "Stowaways! You are NOT allowed to be on board!" He yelled with anger. He formed a crystal fast and strong enough to punch the three fillies into space. "Sweetie Belle!/ Applebloom!/ Scootaloo!" Rainbow, Applejack, and Rarity said in a trio. By this time, the Crystal Empire was was brought into space...and warped sped out of sight.
Never to be seen again.
