Discord's Master Plan, End of a Legend, New Beginnings
Spitfire was nervous to continue with her next part of the speech she had planned. An offer to Rainbow Dash that had to extend to her friends if it was to be accepted. She knew this was a long shot knowing how much everyone infront of her has suffered due to her negligence of proper procedures. She wanted Rainbow to be a star because she felt that the rainbow maned spunky mare deserved it. It wasn't hero worship... even if she did save my life it wasn't that I felt I wanted to reward her.
Spitfire knew of Rainbow's passion to join the group of elite fliers. Often witnessing Rainbow Dash in the crowd of ponies who watch the show. Shelling out bit after bit just to watch them fly. Ironic because she can fly better than us, as much as I hate to admit it I can't pull off a Sonic Rainboom. No one on the team can even reach such feats. It was as if she was on some other level. Maybe she is part unicorn or something. Definitely not a normal pegasus. Her thoughts betray her intent as she was just trying to find the courage to speak the offer that she wanted them to accept. She surveyed as seconds passed leaving an awkward silence that filled the room "Ahem, I am going to tell you the offer now please don't interrupt me while I start because it is going to get some of you angry but if you let me complete my offer and you think it over..." she silenced herself for a second before continuing "you will see it will be the best course of action for Rainbow Dash since she is still under contractual obligation.... the Wonderbolts aren't just show ponies as you know they are an elite flying group that also act as military units. Which means if she abandons the group she is considered AWOL and will be brought to court under treason. " She finished and looked at all the shocked faces and Celestia behind her suddenly went dreadfully silent as not even breathing until Spitfire could continue not wanting the group to start rioting.
Rainbow Dash was right next to her soon to be wife and felt like she just got hit in the heart by a Sonic Rainboom. She didn't even bother voicing her opinions or thoughts as Spitfire seemed ready to continue. They all just stood there silent. Fluttershy was ready to pounce on Spitfire and beat her to death luckily her sides felt a gentle squeeze from a loving wing. Letting her know that Rainbow wasn't going to submit and be parted from her.
Spitfire pressed on "Alright so the offer is sort of complicated but it can result in no one going to jail or being treated as a traitor. " She said with a soft smile "As you now know Rainbow Dash is with us under contract for quite a while.. she has about four more years before she can retire from the Wonderbolts without any back lash. Now I know you all don't like the sound of that but I got some great news. I spoke with Celestia and I was able to officially make you all honorary members of the Wonderbolts. That doesn't make you an official member but it lets you have access to our base and other assortments of benefits that help with this situation. Rainbow Dash will still have to participate in shows but she won't be forced to go on tours. We will be giving her close to home locations to perform and during practice you can all visit her." She said waiting to see if any smiles formed yet but noticed so far nothing changed. "Now since Rainbow Dash won't be touring you are all wondering how can she still be a part of the Wonderbolts full time as her contract states... well I have to give her some kind of job and I realize that Cloudsdale is minutes away from ponyville, for normal pegasi, but with Rainbow Dash's speed it is literally seconds away. So my plan is to hire Rainbow 'Danger' Dash as the new Wonderbolts Instructor." She was hoping some light cheer or some kind of relief but noticed this crowd was hard balling her big time. "It means she can go home every night and be free during the weekends. She can also take breaks if she needs a day off or some time off. So it will be just like she got a job that didn't have as much leeway as her own. But it will be just like a regular job nine to five." She got some smiles except Fluttershy who looked ready to charge still "Did I mention that spouses can visit anytime during breaks and lunch?" She asked hoping to dissuade the almost rampaging pegasus.
Fluttershy relaxed a bit but felt that there was something missing from the offer because Spitfire was being awfully nice and offering a lot of leeway. She wanted to interrupt but wanted for her to get to the bottom of this already.
Spitfire tensed up a bit and continued "Well so far that is the good of it. But since this isn't some fantasy where everyone is happy and we all play horseshoes. I have to also tell you what it will mean. It will mean that you are still obligated to join us if war were to happen. Not all of you just Rainbow Dash. It also means she will have to make some appearances in high profile social gatherings like the Grand Galloping Gala and other royal gatherings. Though it seems bad you can still bring a +1 that means your ... mare" unsure of what their exact relationship was. " Can attend. Also it will be formal so you won't be in costume unless requested." She was unsure of where she was with the crowd. Some had alright looks to their faces and Rainbow appeared to have a mix bag of happiness and sadness.
Spitfire waited a bit and held hoof up to let them know she is just thinking about how to word the rest of the package "I also have other news that can help you all reach a decision. Applejack, Soarin has said nothing but good news about your pies I would like to offer Sweet Apple Acres an invitation to accept a long standing contract for supplying food for the squad. Mostly pies and fritters and other tasty treats and possibly a catering contract for Wonderbolt events. Rarity I hear you are an amazing designer and would officially invite you to be a personal designer for our members for upcoming events. The contract will be costly on our part but since you make great designs and aren't obligated to make suits for us it can be on your terms." She saw their smiles, Two down and four to go. "Pinkie Pie I hear you enjoy throwing parties, when you are back in the mix I am hoping you can help with planning and baking for cakes for Birthday parties and other Wonderbolt related events... and Twilight I understand you are an eager student of the princess and enjoy books and libraries I can grant you access to the Wonderbolts personal library on base with no restrictions on books. So any book you want to read you can check out and obviously be discreet and not lend the book that you checked out to anyone. " She finished sternly because some information and books were for military only.
Four down two to go. She was now just needing to find a way to seal the deal. It seemed that the Yellow mare was far more possessive of Rainbow Dash since they reunited and this sounded like Spitfire was trying to take her away again. She needed to find some kind of way to incorporate her expertise into the mix. What were her talents again? Animals or something? She just needed to persuade the mare then everything can be finally settled and she can hear their reply but she wanted everyone on board. Those contracts she promised didn't exist but could make them exist. Rainbow Dash is by far the most sought after Wonderbolt of her time and if she stops performing the crowd will part until a new wonder is born. She didn't have that kind of time to wait for someone new to rise through the plethora of pegasi. She needed something to make the mare happy if she was going to keep Rainbow Dash around. She was going to offer some seemingly made up veterinary position with money as an incentive but if she and Rainbow Dash were together than money wouldn't mean anything to her since Rainbow being a 'top' would mean she would be the one treating her to things. She was starting to panic, everything was going all right till she got to the yellow mare. Then it hit her like a brilliant bulb of light "We also have a top notch spa with the best attendants in all Equestria, however Fluttershy you can be Rainbow Dash's personal groomer so that no other mare has to have their hooves on her when pre-show pampering is necessary." That made her perk up a bit now all that is left is Rainbow Dash why is she not smiling?
Suddenly as if she was invisible a young filly made herself known "You are making all these offers. They are nice and all. But me and Rainbow Dash want to be a family. How can she take care of me if you are forcing her to be elsewhere? I know I am going to have two moms soon if Rainbow Dash gets married, and also if she can convince the staff ponies to let me be adopted. So What about me? Is there something in your fancy 'deal' that can benefit a foal? I just want to spend time with my mother to be and learn to fly. How can she have time for that if she is busy teaching adults who can already fly, fly faster?"
Spitfire knew something was off. That kid wasn't she the one who yelled at Rainbow Dash in Cloudsdale. It was one month after her first show in ponyville and this kid was yelling at her and almost chased Rainbow off, then the possessive mare yelled at her and they all cried and hugged... gay. " So you are saying the people at the orphanage refuse to let someone who is weal... oh her behaviour from before must have set them off well about the adoption I am sure you guys can handle that on your own since I think Rainbow Dash committed a crime just to prove she wants you in her life it seems. I have an idea little one." She said not knowing her name. "How about if you learn to fly with the free time Rainbow will have during summer and during her days off, and you grow up to be the fine mare you will be raised to be. You can join the Wonderbolts Academy and have the chance to be a Wonderbolt yourself? Wouldn't that be cool?" She asked a bit patronizing but the reaction she got was a surprise none the less.
"You... mean I can... be like.... Das-mom?" Her face lit up like fireworks and she screamed "Yes yes yes yes yes." She jumped for joy and her wings fluttered around. "That would be so awesome. I would be able to take lessons from her or she can give me tips on how to do stunts and this is so cool."
Spitfire was now sure everyone was on board but she saw Dash's poker face " Dash bro... what is it going to take to get you to agree to this so far it seems everyone else is on board.." She was hoping it was something small or easy to obtain so she could give dash the chance to be a family mare and a Wonderbolt.
Rainbow Dash looked at her coldly. "Two things you can give me a year before I return to duty and if you can stop being fake... these offers are nothing that is short of your desperation. How dare you Spitfire manipulate my friends into wanting this 'compromise' when it's nothing short than suckering them..." She started and before anyone could protest she flared her wings "You dare ask me to stay when you know I want out. I have everything I want and you can't accept that. I know it was you who kept my mail from being delivered that first month and stopped them from giving me the mail. I understand you wanted me focused and that I can let go. But now you threaten me with treason because I want to live a normal life? I get it I am 'great' I was some egotistical mare who had all the ponies eating out of the palm of her hooves, But I don't want that anymore. I want to be with Fluttershy and I want to be able to spend time with my new family..." She said looking at her future bride and future child, "and my great friends who have been put through the ringer just because I abandoned them without knowing what I was doing. While I don't have to be around forever I should have prepared the weather ponies for my absence. I forgot how well I did my job, after being called lazy and made to feel as if I barely am appreciated it sinked in that I was worthless to the town. I should have not let my own feelings cloud my judgement. I knew first hand that without me they pegasi on the weather team would have to play catch up. I knew weather patterns, cloud control, precipitation ,whatever that means, percentage. I had all that information and made weather in Ponyville bucking perfect with ease. The rest of the team were able to slack off and ironically I was the one seen as lazy. So what do I do when I made it into the Wonderbolts? I forget them. I say buck them and let them suffer. So the weather team faced a storm that they weren't ready for after all why fret over a storm when I usually am there to quell them? So I never trained my fellow weather ponies and let an entire town down. My friends also suffered for other reasons. I never visited and never wrote even after the first month mishap. I got lost in drugs and in other pursuits. I became a loser and yet people worshiped the clouds I walked on. Through all that I was making the Wonderbolts a crap load of money and myself even more. I have even more bits than I can give away and it doesn't stop rolling in. My crappy egofilled auto biography some how managed to become a best seller and I am guessing it has nothing to do with the content. I absolutely despise those who purchased a copy and gave it a good review when I was absolutely out of my mind when I wrote it. My other book the more serious one when I finally was off drugs also is making me a good sum of bits. My face is on ads and products. I am honestly probably never going to have to work a day in my life again and still be able to wipe my flank with with bits if I wanted. " She paused for a second her breathe short from her tirade. "The worst part about all this is, I probably won't be left alone anyways but if I stay and continue to be a Wonderbolt my fame won't ever die down. I know being some mega star was something I would have enjoyed a while back. But now I just want to be part of a 'normal' family and enjoy my time with them. I would reject this offer in a heart beat honestly but I like the idea of working too. I don't want to stop my work outs and working in general and become some rich slob who's only goal for living is to develop some new fetish and die of a heart attack from eating junk food all day. So I have a new deal. You leave my friends the buck alone and let them live their lives independant of this and I will work as an instructor and if you want me to perform you have to go through Fluttershy. Who will be my personal masseuse and if the shows are on days I can't bring my foals along, because I plan on having another foal besides the one I am adopting, I won't go. I want to be a family more than I do a Wonderbolt. So if you can bend the rules a bit then sure I will stay under the new terms....next time don't be such a feather brain and just be honest, I mean I know you want to please the crowd but remember a Wonderbolt pleases the crowd by wowing them." She said with a small wink.

After much delegation and conversations the group decided to all vote for the new proposal. Applejack and Rarity were a bit miffed that Rainbow screwed a deal up for them but over all it would be best if they just started getting up and running before making any deals with any kind of high profile celebs. With everything agreed upon it seemed they were all ready to go home except the law caught up with Rainbow Dash just as soon as everyone was smiling too.
Flash Sentry, the lamest guard and according to Rainbow Dash the most pathetic pegasus stallion she ever come to blows with, appeared with a grin like a cat who ate the canary. He was angry when he was informed of his humiliating defeat when he woke up and since then decided he was going to dig some more dirt up on Rainbow Dash to get a proper warrant for her arrest. He found out plenty. He had enough to lock her away for a while. There was no way out for her and he was going to see justice done.
He made his presence known with a loud clearing cough and it got the attention he deserved. All eyes were on him even Celestia's "Well it seems everyone is all happy, which is good but I am afraid I have a warrant for the arrest of Rainbow Dash of the Wonderbolts" He said as if that was part of her title and name. He was trying to feign dissapointment at his task but inside he was jumping for joy.
Rainbow Dash with her usually scratchy voice bellowed "On what bucking charges?" She asked before recognizing the turd stain who was going to 'arrest' her, as if I will let that loser arrest me, I will just punch his lights out again. She waited as he tensed up and then got brave with a smug look on his face that basically begged her to punch a crater into it.
"For starters Assaulting a Royal Guard: 1 count, Breaking and entering: 14 counts, Sexual Harassment : 146 counts , Foalnapping: 1 count, Marenapping: 1 count, Conspiracy to destroy a sanatorium: 1 count, purchasing illegal substances... there seems to be a question mark next to it with a little note that says 'lost track at 400'..." He looked at her and mentally questioned how she was alive before continuing " Disturbing the Peace: 200 counts..." he was going to continue but he was cut off.
"So you basically gathered all the stuff I did in my past and I am sure it was all legally obtained?" Rainbow asked knowing full well that some of those charges were dropped because they were just wild claims from star struck fans wanting attention and chuckled because some people claimed sexual harassment after their wild night of passion got them caught by spouses or loved ones and they feigned innocence. Because a star like me had to force myself on starving house wives... seems legit.
He stopped and winced "It doesn't matter how I got the information because it is still an egregious amounts of crime and can't be ignored regardless of your status." He said with a huge smile feeling like a boss. Until he heard something that made him crap bricks.
Celestia annoyed at the failure of a guard for trying to ruin a happy moment with some ridiculous and mostly unproven claims "Hear me now, Flash Sentry, I understand you are trying to be diligent in your pursuit of Justice but what you are claiming has been proven false or just untrue. The recent string of charges were because I had reached out to Rainbow Dash to reunite her friends and because of the time frame given she had to take drastic actions. Are you sure you wish to continue with this arrest? I don't see any outcome that will benefit you in this endeavor."
He was defeated and internally vowed to one day get revenge on Rainbow Dash. Till he could find a way to earn his pride back after being defeated in combat and now in law proceedings it was the worst shame and humiliation he could bear. One day Rainbow Dash you will face the full force of Flash Sentry... he quietly vowed to himself.

With all charges cleared and their sights set on home. The Elements of Harmony, and Scootaloo, got on a train heading home. The train was decked out with private rooms and was costly but with Rainbow Dash's new resolve to spend all the money she was throwing bits at whoever was willing to take them. She even planned on donating a huge chuck to the orphanage in Cloudsdale regardless of their initial distate for the mare it would help bring her image up. Fluttershy was going to do the adopting to avoid the authorities from taking Scootaloo away. No one would be able to say no to someone as motherly as Fluttershy. Especially since she was backed up with good references arranging from a Princess who was enthralled by an even older one and a farmer who was as honest as any pony could be. That was the plan at least on that end. The group of friends still had many issues to deal with when they returned.
Pinkie Pie still was going to need TLC and some patience, and therapy. To help her recover and even discover why she has that other side of her. Rainbow Dash was going to help her with that as promised and even try to hang out with her when time permits, just because she enjoys pranking still. Pinkie will always be a good friend to Rainbow Dash regardless of her sanity. Rainbow Dash has no qualms with people who are different in the head. She had been kind to Der-Ditzy even when the mare annoyed her to pieces.
Rarity's Boutique was still going to need to be rebuilt and new supplies ordered but with the proper funding and the crazy stunt Rainbow pulled it was going to be a successful shop once again. She wasn't 100 percent back to being good friends with the rainbow maned mare, she still had a lot of crap that she had to deal with because of her and they promised to find time to share and talk things out because after all, Rarity kind of gave Fluttershy the push she needed to make the tragic mistake and if Rainbow hadn't realized what real love was like and real happiness was like. This day would have never came.
Applejack had her own set of problems that would need working on. She already forgave the crazy cyan feather brain, but still had a little hurt in her from being abandoned and not helped during her time of need. That stallion may have ran off but the foal inside her will be loved and cared for. After all it has the best extended family in all of Equestria. Before arriving to Canterlot she had been able to talk to Applebloom and Big Mac and they both were moved by the gesture and decided to give it a shot. Applebloom was excited because that would mean the Cutie Mark Crusaders will have a reunion.
Twilight Sparkle, had not many issues since her only tragedy that occured was she lost faith in her princess. She knew that their relationship would need work but it was going to be fine. After all she couldn't help but smile at the fact the princess was going to write her a letter about friendship. The elation was short lived as she remembered she still had to teach that pesky guard of hers to learn his place. She sighed and wished she wasn't royal so she didn't need guards.
Scootaloo was super excited she was sharing a cart with Rainbow bucking Dash. It was all she could hope for. They were talking about flying and other random things. Fluttershy was with them but just watching and and nuzzling the cyan mare. It seemed this family was going to find a way to work out and then Fluttershy remembered something "Rainbow... you said you plan on having another foal with me? But how?" She asked but since Scootaloo was there Rainbow had to whisper in her ear. Fluttershy blushed like crazy but smiled at the thought of having a foal growing in her belly. Being able to be a birth mother to a foal. She realized once she heard that proclamation that the relationship she was now building with her marefriend/ future wife was worth it and would work out. I am no longer going to be suffering, I can be happy and I can have my dream and she can have hers.
Rainbow Dash stopped talking to scoots about flying as time passed and scoots was more interested in Cutie Mark Crusadering, she was looking out the window as Rainbow and Shy snuggled together. "Shy... I just want you to know. I am going to love the buck out of you and take really good care of you. I am happy that me and you can be together and furthermore I am content with the fact I will have a family. I know this won't be perfect and we will have arguments but I promise... no I pinkie pie promise that I will never leave you, betray you, or make you regret being with me as long as I shall live." She said softly and kissed her on the lips with the full force of her conviction. Fluttershy blushed and smiled a small tear fell from her eye. Rainbow Dash finally got it. Dreams aren't about being successful and having it all, dreams are about making it and sharing the wealth. I am able to live my dream and live my life, it seems all this hardship had some kind of worth and being able to now live life happy is a dream of it's own. No matter what I do now I will be the best that I can be and stay awesome while doing so. Because that is what it means to be a Wonderbolt.....
