Death of Loyalty, Rise of a Star
Killing a dragon while doing some sweet aerial stunts, one would think it would be nigh impossible but yet Rainbow Dash had made it so. Just part of being a Wonderbolt after all. She was committed 100 percent. Emotions were a concept not an actuality in Rainbow Dash's life. She let that part of her go with Fluttershy. It was a tragic moment in her life. Seeing the one pony who made her whole be gone from her life. She isn't dead, but she might as well be... after all I am no longer going to be seeing her. Well not my problem I am the Dash. I am awesome and I just killed an evil dragon like a hero.
The Wonderbolts had been assigned in eradicating a Dragon that was being a nuisance around the the forests near Manehattan. Rainbow Dash, Soarin and Spitfire were called in. Rainbow's first debreifing as a team was exciting. She got to see another side of the Wonderbolts. She was given details of the mission and it felt like secret agent stuff. She was twice as excited to live her dream. Not only was she rich and famous but she was a mother bucking hero. Mare do Well is nothing compared to me now.
Soarin was baffled by how quick the job got done "Wow... I never seen something so big get taken down so quickly... you must really pack a force with your punches Rainbow." He was surprised not knowing that Rainbow Dash had the ability to take down trees pre-Wonderbolts training. She was able to slide across the air at speeds so fast her foot broke through trees like it was nothing. With the fact she could surpass the speed of sound at will and her muscle mass increasing with the Wonderbolts extreme training regimen she was a bonafide monster. Monster... yeah that is what I must be to be able to let my emotions go. I mean what kind of pony just tosses out all emotions? Maybe I am not a pony after all. What if I am some awesome hybrid of coolness and radicalness made into pony form? I just can't believe I saved Manehattan from a dragon. I can hear the cheers from here. Nothing in my life will ever surpass this moment.
Spitfire was chuckling "Soarin stop gushing you are going to fill her head like a balloon. We don't need to lose a Wonderbolt to an ego trip." She was impressed by Rainbow Dash's power but a little nervous if that power was used at the wrong time. Then something played in her head. The moment at the club when the Pink joy bringer jumped in and kicked the stallion. It seems now that it wasn't Rainbow Dash she was protecting. It was the stallion. Rainbow Dash would have accidentally killed him. I guess that pink pony is smarter than everyone gives her credit for.
"So guys now that we kicked some dragon tail what now? We go to town and accept their love and adu.. la.. what is that word?" She pondered for a second. "Oh yeah adulation. Man I miss that egg head at times." She said jokingly. She didn't miss anyone. After all she didn't need anyone. She was happy extremely happy being just with Soarin and Spitfire. She didn't need anyone else, I am not trying to convince myself this I know I don't need anyone... friends can suck it, and love is a concept not a reality. There is no such thing as love. There is only coolness, awesomeness and radicalness. Nothing else matters anymore. I am living my dream and I am not looking back ever.

Flashback
Rarity was furious Rainbow Dash was a monster an absolute monster. "Damn you Rainbow Dash. You sicken me. I am ashamed I ever called you a friend. How dare you... I hope you die you pathetic excuse for a pony. I never want to see you around Ponyville. You aren't even worthy of me hitting you." She was ranting at a immobile pony who just had her sunglasses on to hide her already grief stricken face. "She loves you she bared her soul and you do nothing. You are not even a pony you are a monster... I would spit at you but you would probably enjoy it." She wasn't making any sense but again how could you make any sense when yelling at someone who just made your best friend feel like they weren't worth breathing.
"Just go Rarity... Just buck off and leave me be. I have to go kill a dragon soon and I was trying to have a night of fun in case I die today. I mean it's a dragon remember when we fought one before? They aren't going to be easy to take down even with my training." She lied. She knew her training had doubled her strength with her new diet and exercise regiment she was more healthy and toned then her old body. She was faster and stronger and even back then she could take one out after being able to at will make a Sonic Rainboom. The force of a Sonic Rainboom was probably if guided like an atomic bomb. She remembered using her Sonic Rainbomb on Applejack's barn when she wanted to put up a new one. It made a cloud like an atomic fall out hence her naming it the Sonic Rainbomb. Dragons were probably nothing to her new raw power.
"A dragon.. you are going to kill a dragon... did you forget Spikey Wikey is a dragon? Would you kill him too if the Wonderbolts commanded it?" She asked hoping to hear a no. Something that showed she was still worth saving. Some little shred of the old Rainbow Dash. But what she heard instead made her run out the room and leave with Fluttershy in tow,
"If the Wonderbolts saw spike as a threat, then I would eliminate him, no questions asked." She lied through her teeth but she knew it would make Rarity leave. She wanted them gone. She was hurting as is and needed to be alone. Though her words were harsh it was a necessary evil. She was now free to enjoy her new life and she wasn't going to be able to hurt Fluttershy anymore. Fluttershy can be happy without me.. she can find someone new and be loved by someone deserving of her. A buck up like me... I am not worth any pony's time.

Canterlot a place with noble's and snobs and many other kinds of ponies. The castle in which Princess Celestia presides in was empty of anyone but herself her sister and five troubled friends. " I know why you are all here.,.. I am sorry but I can't help you." She looked away from her subjects as they each looked pain. Nothing can be done but they want her help anyways.
"Princess... I know I don't ask for much and I am grateful for everything ya have done for us. I just need ya to fix her and bring her back to us." Applejack was upset at hearing that the Element of Harmony known as Loyalty was dead. Not the bearer just the spirit of it. Rainbow Dash had killed off her own spirit in order to rid herself of any emotions left. Applejack didn't want things to continue on this path. Soon she was going to lose a friend. The same friend who just invested five thousand bits onto a dying farm to help it replenish.
Celestia was going to answer but another voice cut her off "Princess I know you are super duper busy being all royal and stuff and I know one pony doesn't matter to you... but she matters to us. I know Rainbow wouldn't just do what she did... something is wrong with her please do something Princess... I want my Dashie back... I want my friend... I want my friend.." She was crying. The princess looked heart broken. As powerful as she was she couldn't alter fate she can't change history it just isn't right.
"Princess please... you have always told me to trust you, and I have never doubted you. You know how much you mean to me Princess Celestia. I am a princess myself but I don't have your power. Please help Rainbow Dash... You know what she means to me. If not for her your favorite subject wouldn't even be a student of your academy. She was always there for us. She needs our help and we need yours to help her." She sat there almost on the verge of tears. Rainbow and Her grew close after the whole Daring Do stint. She was reading in her library at times and also she had helped Rainbow Dash gain measurements of wing power during the tornado duty. They spent some time together and were getting closer. She loved having Rainbow around, When twilight became an Alicorn and had wings Rainbow was helping her fly.
Rarity was silent.. she didn't want to talk about Rainbow Dash.. she felt that the rainbow maned wonder was out of reach. Seeing what kind of monster she became. It shocked her. It was the worst possible thing ever. The ... worst .. thing. She just sat quietly next to Fluttershy who was not even registering anything going on. She wasn't eating much. She refused all sorts of romantic advances from anyone and even bit another pony who tried giving her flowers once. She didn't want to be loved by anyone period. She wanted to just be left alone and be with her animals. They loved her always and wouldn't leave her to be a stinking Wonderbolt. Oh look I can fly wooo I can fly fast wooo.... stupid Dash... stupid ... wings...
Princess Celestia once the most respected pony in Canterlot now the most useless at this moment. Her subjects needed her and she couldn't help them. What kind of Princess am I... Why can't I help them... would it really be bad to alter someone's will for the sake of others? No I can't think like that... part of being a benevolent ruler is to always make the just decisions regardless of their popularity. If Loyalty is gone then we just have to get a new Loyalty... If I suggest that... They will hate me. "I have one way of helping you girls out... but you will have to trust me. In order for this to work.. I will need your absolute trust. Will you listen to my plan?"
They all nodded slowly unsure of what Celestia was going to offer them but at this point they are willing to take any help if it means restoring the harmony between the six friends. Twilight lit up knowing full well that she could get the princess to help. I knew she wouldn't let us down in our time of need that is why I love her so much. I will thank her after this somehow I just know her plan will work. She was thinking until she heard the princess speak.
"My suggestion is you all move on and forget Rainbow Dash. Leave her alone and don't attempt to make any contact with her. If I am correct she is hurting... she will most likely reach out to one of you. Be strong and deny her that right. She is living in this strange new world and she will see the errors of her way if we let her. We can't help her if we try. She needs to see the problems she creates on her own. I know my plan isn't what you wanted but if we try to force her back to our lives she will only stray further away." She finished as she got the worst response ever. All ponies but one turned and left.
"Princess... Are you sure you can't help us? Maybe if Cadence can use her magic. She could reignite the love and then Rainbow.." she was crying at this point. Twilight Sparkle for the first time in her life saw a flaw in Celestia. I admired you more than any pony Celestia how can you let me down? "Rainbow will be reminded that she loves us right? Why isn't cadence being summoned for this? I know where I must go ..." She was cut off.
"I already told Princess Cadence to not interfere... I am not going to have her try to use a cheap spell on a situation like this. The Element of Loyalty is dead. Understand? The only person who can fix it is lost. She is swimming in the sea of the vast abyss. There isn't anyone who can reach Rainbow Dash besides herself..." She shed a tear a goddess tear that hasn't been shed in a while "I am sorry Twilight but I forbid you from speaking to Rainbow Dash and all your friends attempt to speak to her are going to be null and void. We must move on and prepare for the worst. We can't keep wasting time on one pony. I know you think me cruel and you might disagree with m-..." She was cut off by the one thing that would shatter a Sun Godess's heart.
"I hate you Princess Celestia. I wish I was never made into a stupid Alicorn so I could die and not live with you for eternity. How dare you ban me from trying to rescue my friend. What grand plan do you have? Why do good ponies have to suffer for some ultimate just cause? Take your stupid crown I don't want it anymore. I refuse to be at your side while you sit there and pretend you give a buck about any pony. I loved you more than you even know Princess... out of all ponies I would do anything for you..." she was about to continue but she realized it was pointless. There were no more words needing to be said and with that she just teleported out of there.
Princess Luna was out of sight but in hearing range of the ruckus. She heard the words spoken and couldn't believe it was said. "Sister... dear Tia would you like to come rest for a bit... I think you need to relax after this whole ordeal." She got close to her sister and nuzzled her gently before licking away the tears. It wasn't a sexual act she was just clearing her sister's face from the offending tears. " Come let us take a nap together it will be like old times."
Celestia just silently followed not wanting to say words, they got onto her big bed and rested close to each other. it was rather poetic. Night and Day snuggling side by side, forever apart and yet always together. Celestia heard those words over and over in her head. Twilights words though out of ignorance and anger were still horrible. How could a princess not want to be one. Just because life wasn't going her way. "Did I make a mistake Luna?" She asked though it wasn't a question that was meant to be answered instead Luna just nuzzled her sister and tenderly held her in her hooves. They rested that way together till Celestia was calm.

Rainbow Dash became a sensation. Even though the Wonderbolts took down the dragon as a team it was Rainbow Dash who landed the final blow. She was praised more than the others but it was alright. She was young and was a rising star. "Hey newbie how does it feel to be awesome, well more awesome as you would put it." Spitfire said with a chuckle. The event was printed all over news papers. Interviews and endorsements were being offered everywhere for Rainbow Dash.
She was asked to be a spokes person for products and was hired to show up at parties. She was becoming an Equestrian sensation and she wasn't ashamed one bit in fact she forgot humility all together and embraced the awesomeness. "You know I do this not because I was made awesome... I was born awesome. Also I am going to have a book published and it will be written by yours truly. It will be a book about my awesomeness. Also it will have some morals and stuffs you know for the foals." She was speaking like a grade a flank hole and she didn't care. The crowd and her fans were eating it up. She could take a crap on the stage she was at and it would be gold to them. She was top tier status.
She wasn't ever thinking of looking back after all she was only beginning her ascent. The sky wasn't the limit because there is no limits. With a world that has no limits where is the zenith? She was escalating in popularity as the days went by, She had signed many autographs. She was even appearing at schools all while sporting her signature glasses and cap. If she wasn't in costume she was in a cap and glasses. Seems like everything was going right for her. She wasn't just being awesome she was partying hard.
She grew close to Vinyl as they started hanging out, after all when the coolest musician/DJ and the coolest pony period hang out it's bound to be good times. Good times indeed it was. Soon Rainbow Dash and Vinyl became a sensation. Being at clubs getting drunk and making news. They were an unstoppable team of cool. Then the drugs came into the mix. They were always getting down with the flow of life. Rainbow Dash kept performing and doing her other Wonderbolt duties with ease but her mind wasn't adjusting to all this new found glory.
Spitfire was noticing a lack of care in Rainbow's performances during practice. and wanted to say something but when it came time for the shows even while showing up late she was still performing her best. Though while doing so she got into a habit of being a braggart. Soon The crowd barely wanted to see any other Wonderbolt beside her. Most of the shows kept selling normally but any Show with Rainbow Dash in it was out sold and always packed. Though it was because of the new stunts involving the Sonic Rainboom. It still wasn't good for the team dynamic if one was outshining the others. This is why the Wonderbolts was a team not a single act.
Soarin and Spitfire were at the base waiting for Rainbow Dash who was 30 minutes late to a meeting they had scheduled to plan out their newest show. They had just finished defeating an entire pack of timber wolves that were causing problems in hoofington. Afterwords Rainbow Dash disappeared. She most likely was 'scoring some tail'. ten minutes later a tired looking drugged out Rainbow Dash appears while smelling like musky marehood.
"Sup guys, am I late... oh horesapples. Sorry guys was umm... I umm ..." She didn't really have a good excuse. and they weren't going to buy it anyways "So yeah meeting time what we going to do. Oh wait I got it I have the perfect plan. See how about we do a mix of the Tornado Rainboom and a bit of the Triple Dazzler and then spice it up with the Soarin special ? See all done meeting over. I want to relax... I have some things to do... " she was about to run off when Spitfire blocked her path of exit.
"Rainbow Dash... you are starting to worry me. I know you are becoming a mega star.... you were born to be a star... but you are starting to fall. You can't already be falling while you start your rise. I mean look at you.. you are drugged up and smell like some cheap whore... what is going on with you. " She said almost wanting to cry seeing the pathetic state of a once fabulous pony. "You have shirked your cleaning duties and are barely feeding your tortoise. That got her in trouble by saying that .
"You shut your mouth. I love tank I am taking good care of him I bought him a girlfriend remember? He has been like macking that chick... you don't dare tell me I am not treating my tortoise right. He is all I have left and I love him... I love tank.. and I love having fun... I have just been having fun. Alright? I am still responsible.. Didn't I save that group of cadets from that rogue tornado the other day? Haven't I been performing more awesomely in shows? I have been bringing in the bacon. We are a team. Without you guys I can't keep making them awesome stunts and without me you won't have the crowd. So are we done here? If so I have some stuff to do..." She finished while Spitfire just moved aside.
Rainbow Dash flew into the sky taking in the comfort of the majesty that is the endless abyss of blue. Nothing mattered to her anyways. She could quit the Wonderbolts if she wanted and maybe go somewhere with tank and live on a tortoise island. She could probably fly to the sun and just live there for eternity.. nah buck suns they have stupid princess controlling it. It doesn't matter where she went because after all she was a star.
Like all stars she would one day burn out and soon the story of the greatest Wonderbolt will take the turn for the worse because what goes up ... must come down... life isn't fair and neither is being celebrity. "Dad are you proud of me yet? I am doing it dad... I am living the dream. I am a rising star there is no zenith for me. The whole world loves me Dad... do you love me yet? Are you proud of me yet? I am trying to reach you... I just want you to tell me you are proud of me and accept me for who I am... I am sorry you died before you saw me become awesome... If you are watching me let me know dad, I miss you... your daughter loves you still... never stopped dad. I am in the sky reaching the top and I can't yet feel that complete feeling. What am I missing dad? What is my life missing?" Rainbow's words wasted on a sky with no words to give her back. She closes her eyes and feels the winds basking in her presence. "I am the goddess of the sky. The air is my domain and while I am in my domain I am invincible... I am loved by all and hated by none," her mind stopped for a moment. "Ok maybe I am hated by jealous husbands of wives I may have slept with but who cares I am a star. I don't live in the same world they do. I live in a place above the world. After all you can only see stars with a telescope. I am untouchable... money is no object and no doors are locked. I guess that is what it means to be a Wonderbolt..."
She slowly folded her wings and began her descent little did she know that one moment in the sky marked her other descent. While she was free falling in the sky soon she would fall as a pony. The stage is set and the end is near after all no one can be happy forever... especially when they aren't happy at all....
