Chapter 12 Trust

Twilight paused briefly whilst the others nodded in agreement. They'd needed to talk alone ever since Dan and Gavin were transformed; they'd never had the chance though.
"What do you think of Dan and Gav?" asked Twilight.
"I don't know, they seem cool, but I don't think I fully trust them yet." replied Rainbow Dash with a shrug.
"Well Ah trust em'." argued Apple Jack.
Everypony turned to look at Apple Jack, a determined look on her face.
"Ah know they may seem suspicious, but they're sufferin' just from being here. They never wanted to come here, we should at lease give them our trust while they are." she added with a smile.
"I agree! They’re our friends!" Pinkie said whilst bouncing.
"Ok, but after what Dan did to princess Celestia, I don't know if I can just yet. We should probably keep an eye on them, just to be safe." concluded Twilight.
They broke from their huddle and trotted back over to the waiting stallions.
"What did you talk about?" asked Gavin with a smile.
"Oh, just mare stuff." replied Rainbow Dash.
"Cool. So what are we going to do now?" he asked.
"You heard the Princess, you're going to live in Ponyville in AJ's barn until she finds a way to get you back." she answered calmly. "Besides, as a fellow pegasus, you need to learn how to fly." She added with a smug grin on her muzzle.
Gavin gulped and looked at his wings. He un-folded them and flapped them quickly, sending a few feathers drifting off. They looked so small; surely they couldn't carry his weight in the air.
"Are you sure they'll... work?" he asked sheepishly.
"Of course, pegasi come with wings that fit them, and yours fit you." she said, patting him roughly on the back, unsettling his wings.
"Come on Gav, I'm sure all the experience with front flips you have will help you" Dan snickered.
"My flips are awesome!" he argued with a chuckle.
"Yeah, if you're meant to land on your back!" Dan giggled.
"Well at least I can read menus." grumbled Gavin, making Dan stop laughing instantly and start sulking.
The mane six, confused once again, set off down to the train station with Gavin and Dan. They trotted down the cobble stone roads; the sound of their hooves hitting the ground still shocked the two stallions, used to the soft patting sound of their feet.
"Do you want to learn some magic Dan?" asked Rarity politely.
"Uh... Okay?" he answered unsure as to what exactly he'd be learning.
"Excellent, some simple levitation spells could come in handy for you." she added with a warm smile.
Twilight gestured for Rarity to come closer to her and away from Gavin and Dan.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" she asked in a low whisper.
"Of course, as Gavin will learn to fly Dan should learn how to use his magic." replied Rarity.
"What if-"
"What if nothing, how would you like to be banned from using your magic? Hmm?"
Twilight lowered her head and looked up to Rarity sadly.
"Exactly dear, you do need to lighten up Twilight. They are good stallions and they're relying on us." she nudged Twilight playfully.
When they arrived at the station they boarded the train once again and settled down in the cart.
"So what do you do for fun here?" asked Dan.
"Uh... I don't know. Something usually comes along for us to do." replied Fluttershy. Everypony else nodded or shrugged in agreement.
"We could go to the spa?" giggled Rarity, making everypony laugh.
"I don't think that's for us." chuckled Gavin happily.
They continued to chat and discuss ideas until they arrived back at Ponyville. They then disembarked the train and stood in a group just outside the station.
"Bye guys I should probably get back home. I'll fly by and pick you up for flight training tomorrow." and with a wink, Rainbow Dash flew off.
"And I'm sure Twilight and I can meet you tomorrow to teach you some magic Dan. Goodbye!" added Rarity as she trotted off with Twilight.
"Me and Fluttershy can arrange your ‘Welcome to Ponyville’ party too!” exclaimed Pinkie, throwing her fore leg around Fluttershy's neck. "Goodbye!" she yelled as she bounced away.
"Uhm... Yes... Goodbye." muttered Fluttershy with a sweet smile as she also, trotted away.
"Ah guess that leaves us three." said Apple Jack, turning around and heading back to Sweet Apple acres.
Fifteen minutes later, the trio had arrived in front of the Apple family barn. "Ya'll should get some sleep; ya got a big day ahead of ya." Apple Jack said as she opened the door to the barn, letting them in.
"Yeah, thanks Apple Jack." replied Gavin, hugging her.
"Good night." added Dan joining the hug.
“Shucks, Ah’m just bein’ neighborly.” She broke from the hug and left, leaving the stallions to settle in for the night.
“...hey Dan?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you think we’ll get back?”
“...of course we will.”
“...”
“...”
“Michael and Ray are never going to believe us.”
“Then we’ll bring ‘em proof. Now go to sleep Gavin.”
“Goodnight Dan.”
