"Child with no name, can you hear my voice?" A strange voice called out to The Seeker in his unconscious mind. "If you can, I beg you to respond as your life is hanging by a thread. Your crimson garb has hidden a grave wound and if you do not spring to consciousness... YOU WILL DIE." The voice's message stirs The Seeker's mind to find his way back to reality. He approaches a brilliant white door, distinctly contrasting the empty void he has been traversing. "Read the inscription on the door nameless one. With it's power, shall you gain true purpose. Both a name and a mission in life." The Seeker walked to the door and wiped the dust from the words on it with his right hand. The silver sphere on it, that gave him his human form, shined brilliantly upon contact with the door.

"I am ______ the Crimson Knight, known to some as The Seeker. I swear my life to..." He trailed off as he read the inscription in his mind. He worried about reading the whole thing aloud when he noticed the door begin to shake and dissolve. "Nameless one, your time grows short. The powers this door grants, will save you but, you must pledge to defend the one who cares for you. You will be 'Her Knight' this is the only way to save both yourself and her. She is slowly killing herself to keep the door open. If it fades completely, you will not be the only one that dies. The voice sounds both sad and authoritative, as it wanted to prevent the death of two but, knew it was slowly failing.

The seeker reached out to the door, grabbed the handle and read the words as if knowing them by heart. "I am Maximillion Fortner, the Crimson Knight, known to some as The Seeker! I swear my life to the Defense of the one, who cares for me enough to bring me back from the brink of death at the cost of her own well being! As long as my body functions and my heart still beats, I shall serve as her sword and her shield. On my life I so swear it!" As he declared his oath, the door burst open filling the void with pure light. "You have done well Maximillion. Do not forget that vow. As you will be one of the most important allies to miss, Twilight Sparkle." The voice says these words with the pride, of a mother, sending her son off on his own.

"Twilight! He's waking up get over here!" Rainbow Dash shouted to Twilight, as she had been watching Max at Twilight's request. "Man, you look like hell. What happened?" The cyan pegasus said in her typical brash attitude. Max's response was one she didn't expect, an honest although wordless answer. Max pointed to his lower back and shifted so that the blood they had missed could be clearly visible on the couch he was laid on. "Twilight! He's hurt! I'll be back with Fluttershy keep him still!" Rainbow said with all the color vanishing from her face, her pride slightly injured as she cursed herself for not noticing sooner. Twilight ran in, at these words, to see Rainbow race off to get Fluttershy. Twilight ran to him freaking out, as she noticed his face had already lost color a sign off critical blood loss.

"Can you hear me? If you can please stay awake. Please... I don't want you to die." Twilight said as she forced him to stare at her, her large purple eyes filled with tears. Soon after this, Fluttershy had returned with Rainbow and got to work fixing him up. Her timidness gone, replaced by a sense of duty, to the man who had saved Twilight three weeks ago and all of Equestria the year before. Fluttershy had asked Twilight to use her magic, to hold him still, so he would not hurt himself during the procedure, to which Twilight simply complied. Strangely enough, as soon as Fluttershy had wiped a strange green fluid, from the wound with disinfectant, it began to heal itself at an alarming rate.

A few moments of silent debate, Twilight told her friends about what 'the Doctor' mentioned, about beings who are fixed in time. Only some methods can actually kill them she explained, this would require a medium to stabilize them in time so that their immortality is removed. She explained her theory, that the green substance Fluttershy removed, from the wound on The Seeker's back, was in-fact such a medium. Which is why he was unable to naturally heal himself. After her explanation, there was some moaning, from the room they had let him rest in and what sounded like the thud of someone falling of the couch.

"Note to self... never let Daleks use new weapons on you again. Ever." He said as he stood the silver orb, on the back of his right hand, shining in the afternoon sunlight. "Now, what was I doing? I remember heading to the Ponyville Library to wish Twilight a happy birthday, got shot by a Dalek... Kicked it's rear, and then nothing." The seeker said, as he looked around. "Never forget your pledge Maximillion. It is far to important." As the voice spoke, Max roared in pain, clutching his head. The memories, he had forgotten, all forced their way back into his mind at once. Twilight ran into the room to see Max on his hands and knees in pain. She used some magic to alleviate the pain. "Thanks, hang-overs have nothing on suddenly remembering three weeks worth of forgotten memories all at once." With these words and a slight smile, he collapsed to the floor. A set of dog tags appeared and magically fell from his hand. 'Pvt. Maximillion Fortner U.S. Armed forces, second division experimental infantry.' Was written on them.

"Ohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmygoodness..." was all Fluttershy could say as she checked the man's pulse. He was alive and his pulse was normal. "The worst has past and now he only needs rest." She had said this to Twilight and Rainbow with a tone that begged the question... Should she be a nurse or other medical professional? Twilight took the silence, as a chance to read the small metal tags, The Seeker had dropped. Her face brightened, as she had finally found out the answer the princess had asked for. Without delay, she created a magical copy and sent it to Canterlot along with her findings.

So, with these events, did Twilight's birthday become an event, she would never forget? She had been praying for an excuse to break away from the mundane routine, she had gained over the year's time that Maximillion and the Doctor had left to deal with their own lives. She would soon realize that you must always consider... WHAT YOU'RE WISHING FOR, YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE REALLY WANTED IT, WHEN YOU GET IT.
