A Forgotten 'Package'

Last chapter: Kieron is in the hospital laid on a bed, vitals normal as Moonshine enters a nurse stops her, “I’m sorry but for now you will have to wait.” She informs her.

“Moonshine?” Kieron calls out slowly. Moonshine then is let over to him as they both approach him, “What happened?”

“I don’t know, really...” She replies, “But at least everything is back to normal now. So for now just rest.”

Kieron laid still in the bed as he looked round he could see nurses rush about trying to help wounded ponies that he hurt, even trying to revive a pony that he ripped open slightly. The screams pierced his ears as tear began to fill his eyes knowing what he has done to the ponies he loves dearly and vowed he would protect, not murder.

Twilight walks up to the still upset Celestia who is sat her desk trying to understand how Kieron could morph like this into such a disgusting and violent creature, “How, Twilight, how can he do that? I know I don’t know much about humans but I don’t think that was a natural thing. Did you know that he could do this?” she asks Twilight in a sore tone.

“Yes, I did but I didn’t really see much when I first saw it. I also didn’t know he would become like this. I must say though if it wasn’t for Zeldax, we might have been dead, me and my friends that is.” She replies, admitting she knew about it. Celestia looks up sharply at her, get up and puts her hoof on her shoulders.

“And you didn’t think we needed to know in case this kind of thing happened?” she asked her.

“No because it stopped when Mathis stabbed this needle with a liquid in it into Kieron.” She explains as ‘Tia takes her hoofs of her and sits back down to think of what the effect the Elements of Harmony will have on him.

“I hope he will be alright. Even I don’t know what will happen to him now that the Elements of Harmony have been used on a human.” ‘Tia says worrying herself.

“Don’t worry Princess; I’m sure he’ll be fine.” Twilight reassures her as a knock emits from the study door. Twilight walks over and opens it; one of the recruit ponies is stood at the door out of breath.

“Is Kieron here, Princess?” he asks quickly.

“No, he’s in the hospital. Why?” she questions.

“I can’t say but Mathis has a message for him.” The pony explains.

“Oh really, in that case we shall come with you.” She replies as she stands up and they both follow the pony to the hospital.

Mathis’ holographic projection is stood in the middle of the room, tapping his foot impatiently. As a pony passes him he asks it, “What’s taken him so long? Where is Kieron? Why can’t I get his signal?” The pony stops and turns to him and shrugs his shoulders.

“I don’t know where he is but we did find his earpiece out in the Ponyville park, in pieces.” He replies whilst showing Mathis the parts of the earpiece they could find.

Mathis instantly yells and goes to hit the pony’s hoof but due to him being a hologram his hand passes straight through, after calming down he dismisses the pony, he then turns to the large screen and continues to search for Kieron, “Where are you? I need to get this syrem to him before he kills more ponies...and before his package arrives.” He says to himself.

Dr Atom is half inside a piece of machinery that isn’t of his usual type but instead was one of Kieron’s that he was borrowing that could help him detect movement in space, it was a radar system. As he continues to fiddle with it to meet his specification it suddenly begins to whir as it powers up. He pulls himself out to watch as is lights up and a small screen shows not dots for the moving objects but shows the observatory and then moves towards the moving object in space that it is picking up. As he watched it showed an object in space travelling towards Equestria at an alarming speed, it must be travelling at the speed of light or at least just slower than. He continues to watch to see what it is, it was a pod of some kind, and he right away knew it could only be something from SKULL.

He left the machine to run as he rushed over to the telescope, put his eye to the eyepiece and searched the night sky at where the object was, he didn’t see anything. As he continued to search a flash of light blinded him temporarily as he lifted his head from the eyepiece, rubbing his eye.

A small shockwave emitted from the object as at suddenly slowed from light travel, the shockwave propelled all the way to the planet surface but by then was too weak to knock anything over but was strong enough to be noticeable.
<Back at the hospital>

Kieron felt the shockwave hit him as the nurses looked round to see what this was, only he knew what it could have been caused by, thoughts rushed through his mind, “Oh god, SKULL’s back, they’re going to take this planet forcefully.” He says to himself as he forcefully pulls himself up to sit on the side of the bed, he then tries to stand as his legs wobble from being very weak. Nurse RedHeart spots him trying to get up, rushes over to him and tries to get him back into bed saying that he’s too weak to walk at the present moments. He pushes her aside as desperately tries to make his way to the door as she watches him, surprised by his ability to walk when so weak and so soon after being hit by the Elements.

“Please get back into bed Kieron. You can’t go out yet.” She says to him as she walks over to him and puts a hoof on his side to redirect him. He then turns to her, grabs at her head and puts his head close to hers and shouts.

“DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND?! THEY’RE GOING TO KILL YOU ALL AND THEY’RE OUT THERE NOW!” as he pushes off her and makes for the door, stumbling and tripping over his own feet, RedHeart puts a hoof to her mouth as she hate to see someone put themselves through something like this. He reaches the door, opens it quickly but is pushed back away from the door by a magical force, Celestia, Twilight and the other pony enter, Celestia’s horn glowing as she pushes him back to the bed.

“You are supposed to be in bed mister.” She says as she lifts him into the bed and covers him over. They all walk over to the bed and the recruit hoofs him a brand new earpiece, he grabs hold of it and puts it to his ear.

“Hello, who...what is it?” he asks unsure of what to say.

“SIR! Finally I’ve found you. You sound as though you have been taken out of the threshold. That isn’t important right now though...” Mathis replies as Kieron’s eyes widen hearing what he is saying waiting to hear the news about SKULL returning, “I have a message from the Grand Master.” Kieron shuts his eyes tight hoping that he was wrong but knowing that that might not be the case, an alarm on the end of the earpiece beeps, he takes it off and places it in the centre of the bed, a holographic projection of the GM’s head appears, RedHeart stares, amazed by the technology, the other stand and watch as the message begins, it was pre-recorded as a normal message could not be sent to him from this distance apart.

“Kieron, I know it must be about five months since you have been left on that fine planet but by the time you get this message it will have been about ten months, a year at the max. Along with this message there is something that will be coming into orbit and heading to the surface, I know what you will be thinking, and it isn’t that. It is a package for you, Kieron...” he explains as Kieron sighs with relief that it wasn’t a SKULL ship after all, but then what was it?
“When I decided to leave on that planet, you were meant to take all of your belongings with you. Think, Kieron, what have you forgotten?” it asks him as if talking to him in real-time.

Kieron lift his head as he thinks hard about what it could be, the others watch, “Careful, try not to hurt yourself, I can’t fix mental damage.” RedHeart comments just as he lowers his head to look at them and his eyes widen to large saucers as he remembers the one thing he forgot.

The message continues, amazingly just as he remembers, “Yes, that’s right, Kieron. You left it on the ship and I have sent it down to you. HOW DARE YOU LEAVE HER HERE!” he shouts at Kieron before the message shuts off.
Everypony stands in confusion, “Kieron, what is he talking about? What does he mean her? You brought Moonshine down with you.” Celestia asks him.

“I guess that makes two things I need to explain, I’ll start with the first one, being me because it’s more important. Please get a chair, all of you.” he replies as he gets comfortable for the little storytelling to come.

Celestia uses her magic to pull up four chairs for them all, they sat on them and get comfortable, “Right, I am not a real human, I am human but I’m not if that makes sense. I am a human but I was biologically engineered by the Grand Master himself, that man you just saw, he created me to be the ultimate soldier, completely loyal to him, too tough to kill with normal weapons, and quick thinking. But there was a side effect, that morphing, he kept me solitary confinement whilst he got his scientists to create a syrem to stop the morphing...” he stops to breath as he finds it hard to breath a bit.

“But there was a side effect with the syrem too, I’m sure it’s a good thing though. It stopped the morphing but it makes me invincible, seriously, I can’t die. I can prove it.” He explains as he pulls out a concealed gun from under the pillow and points it at his chests, ‘Tia uses her magic to pull at the gun trying to stop him but he stares at her with a look of trust causing her to stop, he then put the gun against his chest, directly above his heart, RedHeart biting at her lip hard. He pulls the trigger and a loud bang erupts from it as the bullet strikes him and blood splatters everywhere, RedHeart screams, Twilight looks at ‘Tia as if to say ‘why did you let him?’, ‘Tia herself watching intentionally as after a few seconds he groans with pain, RedHeart stops screaming to see him still alive, she gasps with relief.
The bullet falls out of his chest to land on the mattress as his chest rapidly heals back up with no trace of the bullet even hitting him, “See. I can’t die. But unfortunately I can still feel pain.” He picks up the bullet and hands it to RedHeart, “There you go, a souvenir, the bullet that can’t kill.” He says to her with a light chuckle.

“So what was the other thing that you needed to explain?” ‘Tia asks him, wanting to know more.

“Well, it has something to do with Moonshine. You see I think I told you about her being bio-engineered from me. Well, during the design phase we detected a by-product within the creation, we thought that Moonshine was the main thing and the other to be the by-product so we tried to dispose of it but it escaped...” he tells them as the recruit gets up and walks out to go do a job that Mathis had assigned him to do.

“Later, two years later, I found reports of something in the maintenance shafts and food missing from the kitchens. I went investigate it only to find a pony in the shafts with hoards of food and things that had gone missing. I brought her out and immediately wanted to look into it, I took her into personal care, it was hard but the trust between us grew, she hated Moonshine though. About a year later we found out that she wasn’t the by-product but instead Moonshine was.” He explains

“Wow, Moonshine has a sister? And you have two ‘daughters’.” Celestia says to him.

“Yes and her name is Treacle Tart. I must say she is a very solitary pony, is very dedicated to work, listens to everything you say, learns quickly, likes to make friends but where she is Moonshine isn’t for and she drives then away from Treacle causing her to be quite lonely. She does, however, make the best tarts, flans and pies I have ever tasted, and she’s almost about to land here on Equestria, that’s what the shockwave was from.” He continues to explain.

They all get up, RedHeart then thanks him for the story and goes off to help other ponies that are hurt, and ‘Tia helps him up, he puts an arm round her neck for support as they make their way to the door with Twilight following them. When they get to the door, he opens it, they look up into the sky to see an object falling down towards the ground, on fire from the heat of entering the atmosphere, “There she is.” He says as they make their way down to the courtyard where Celestia’s chariot is kept.

They soon reach it, get in and ‘Tia uses her magic to lift it into the air and drive it forwards towards the mech facility where the pod was heading to.

Moonshine was woken by the shockwave that hit everypony, she is looking out the window to see what it was only to see the pod falling down towards the mech facility, she looks over towards Canterlot to see Celestia’s chariot heading for it. She then leaves the library after giving Spike a little, comforting kiss on the forehead. It doesn’t take long for her to reach the facility. The pod is almost at the surface, the roof of the facility opens as a large docking station lifts up out of the roof, the pod all of a sudden slows down to a snail’s pace as it docks with the station. It then lowers back into the roof and the door close.

Celestia’s chariot arrives at the main door. Moonshine walks over to them and explains what happened to the pod, Kieron then tells her to shut up and follow then inside, and ‘Tia helps him as they walk into the facility.

When they get into the pod in stood in the middle of the main room, Kieron takes his arm from round ‘Tia and approaches the pod, he types in a code into the pad on the door, air hisses from the door as it decompresses, the door opens to reveal a thick fog that floats down past everypony’s hoofs, a figure inside the pod weakly flops out landing against Kieron but due to himself being weak they both falls to the ground, Kieron puts his arms round the pony stroking at its mane, comforting it, “There, there Treacle. Your with me now.” He says to comfort her.

“Sir, she’s still in cryo-stasis, I must tell you to take her to the med-lab to rest, and you need to rest as well.” Mathis tells him, ‘Tia then walks over to them, uses her magic to lift Treacle onto her back and lifts Kieron so that he can put his arm round her again as they make their way for the med-lab.

When they reach there, there is not the one surgical table but this time two tables, ‘Tia lifts Treacle off her back and places her onto one of the tables as Kieron lays himself on the other, he closes his eyes as ‘Tia leaves them be to rest, pushing the others out too, “They need to rest for now. We’ll see them tomorrow.” She says to Twilight and Moonshine as they leave the facility, she then heads back to Canterlot for some sleep as the other head to the library to do the same.
