The Doctor returned, sun Shining above them. How long had they been gone? Her parents would he worried sick. 'A stallion found me.' Right. Time to take her to the nearest hospital. He wondered how long she would he out for before she woke up, remembering nothing. A sudden shock wave caused him to look up. "Wow." Derpy's voice murmured. Above him, a rainbow colored sonic boom arched through the sky. The one thing she remembered. He watched her drift off to sleep, taking her to the first pony, asking them to help him find a hospital. They nodded, rushing the tiny filly off.
He went back to the Tardis. How could he go home to face her. He had to. Everything came to that moment...and that moment...came to the mare in the moon...he stopped, a thought occurred to him as he rushed around, making his way back home. Dimensions are ripping themselves open, Derpy.” he murmured, “You wait for me to come back...and dimensions are seeping through...and if any of those dimensional beings find out what you have in you...they would kill you to get it...if you knew...you could well die anyway...all of those times trying to find out what your cutie mark ment...why your eyes crossed...and it was me...all because of me...and you can never know...I’m sorry...I’m so….very... sorry.” He cried for a while before he landed. Once he did, he wiped his tears. “But i think I know what's causing them now. I will stop them, and save you.
He landed close to her of course. Putting on his best smile.
“Doctor? What’s wrong?” she asked.
Of course she could see through it in an instant. “Nothing...sorry. I just...had a hard time with that thing…” he nodded, then realized something felt off. He looked up to the sky, “Derpy...remember that old mare’s tale you told me...about the mare in the moon?”
“Of course.” she nodded.
“What is coming up soon?”
“The thousandth summer sun celebration is just a week away...why?” Derpy smile turned into a look of worry. The Doctor’s heart sank a bit…’the stars will aid in her escape’...is that what the dimensional rip was trying to get? The mare in the moon? If Derpy encountered anything like that…. Or worse, if this mare in the moon was after her...she could be in worse danger than ever “Derpy, I’m sorry, but I need to look into something!”
“I’ll come with you. Amethyst has Dinky for the day any-”
“You can’t-” Derpy felt like she was slapped in the face. Doctor saw he hurt her and sighed, “I’m sorry, Derpy...I truly am, but you have to trust me...this time, it’s just too dangerous for you. I need to take a look alone.”
“But Doctor-”
“No. I know...I know I’m better with you by my side...but it’s not...It’s not safe…” he looked at her pleadingly, “Please promise me. Stay here for now.”
Derpy nodded, his look scared her, “I promise Doctor...just...just come back soon, okay?”
“I will...I love you.”
“I love you too!” she smiled as he went off, worried about why he acted in such a way. The Doctor went off, ready to get some answers. His first stop: Canterlot castle!
