Strange Happening

Twilight: The Curious Pony Part 1

We were now in the barn taking shelter from the storm and Applejack and I were having a discussion about the sleeping arrangements to better accommodate Twilight.

"Y'all are not making her stay here!"

"Why not? She sure as hell isn't gonna stay in my bed! Or your's, or anywhere in the house!" I turned to Twilight and pointed. "Your ass is staying down here!" She shrunk a little and sat down on her....what are they called? Haunches? Well anyway she sat down and looked at the ground. Applejack didn't sit to kindly to that.

"Zane, look. Ah know yer mad at Twi but she's soaked and she'll get sick if she stays out here." She tried to reason but saw it was having little effect on me. "And Ah don't want to report to the princess that Twilight, her personal student, friend and a very important pony, died of some weird sickness from being out in the cold soaking wet fer too long."

"What's your princess gonna do? Come to my and punish me?" I laughed. "That's not going to happen."

"Let me put this way sugar cube: The princess is much more powerful than Twilight. So Celestia would have no trouble making it here."

I sighed and cooled down a bit. "Well if Twilight was able to paralyze me like that then there's no telling what the 'All Mighty Celestia' could do." I looked at my phone and it was almost ten. "Shit we better get back up there so they don't worry too much. I'm sure they heard me yell when our 'friend' here attacked me."

"So I don't have to stay in the barn?"

"As long as you keep your mouth shut, then no. So no talking on the way up." I stood there looking her over to see if she was hurt or not. "Maybe a few bruises right?"

"Huh?" Twilight said looking a little concerned.

"Nothing just thinking out loud. Are you hurt?"

"Uh..." She looked herself over. "I seem to be okay. My head kind of hurts from the amount of magic I had to use, but other then that I'm alright."

"So you can walk?"

"Yeah I think so."

"Alright then let's get going. Follow me." I said as I began to walk back towards the house. The rain has let up some but it was still raining pretty hard. I looked back and saw the other two weren't following me. "Don't make come back there and pick you up." Applejack blushed a little and Twilight spoke.

"Shouldn't we wait until it stops raining?" My only response was rolling my eyes, walking over to the purple mare and picking her up. She let out a small "Eep" when I did so.

"I warned you. Now let's get you back so we can dry you off."

She nodded slowly, still not to sure about being carried and we all started towards the house.

We were almost up to the house and I'm starting to regret the decision to walk back but it was getting pretty late. If I wasn't soaked before, I am now. We were coming up on the house now and my dad was walking towards us. He asked if I was alright and what happened.

"Yeah I'm fine. I just scared this one here," I showed him Twilight. "and she attacked me. It's all good now."

"Alright as long as your sure."

"Yep. Just need to get them dried off and they'll be set."

"Ok, son." And he went back inside and we followed him.

I set Twilight down and told her and Applejack to stay there and got some towels so they could dry off.

=---=---=---=---=

"Well that was fun, wasn't it?" I asked both Applejack and Twilight. Twilight had already introduced her self and both ponies were dry now.

"Well I don't know about 'fun' but it sure was....something."

"Ah agree with Twilight, Ah don't want to do that again."

"I was really being sarcastic guys but ok." They didn't say anything. Applejack went up to our room and Twilight looked like she was studying pretty much everything. I asked her if she wanted me to get her anything but she declined, saying she would do fine on her own. I just shrugged and went up to my room.

Everyone else started to go to bed so I told Twilight she had to stop studying and come up here so we can figure out where she will be sleeping. Applejack said that she could sleep with her and I told her that it might back a bit cramped but she said that's fine. I looked at Twilight and she agreed.

It was ten-thirty now and I was waiting for my sister to get out of the shower. I resulted to playing Minecraft in the mean time. Twilight and Applejack were talking about something but I wasn't paying any attention and continued to play my game. I heard the bathroom door open and that reminded me to ask.

I turned to the girls. "Hey are any of you going to shower?"

Twilight shook her head. "I took one earlier before I teleported here but thanks."

Applejack looked a little more unsure. "Well uh....Ah might need one. Couldn't hurt Ah suppose."

"Alright then. Hey Applejack?"

"Yeah?"

"Wanna join me?" She blushed slightly and shook her head. I just laughed. "I knew you would do that. I'll be out in a bit."

The both said ok and then I went to take my shower.

After about twenty-five minutes I emerged from the bathroom and entered my room where Twilight was examining my PS3 and Applejack was waiting patiently for her turn in the shower. She saw me coming back into the room and got up to take her turn in the shower. She went into the bathroom and after a few minutes came back out.

"Hey uh sugar cube could ya help me?"

"Should have just joined me in the shower. I'm kiddin' hold on I'll be right there." I went over to the bathroom and asked her what she needed help with. She said she needed help with the water and needed to know what shampoo she could use. I told her she could use some of mine but when she smelled it she declined. So I knocked on my sister's door and asked her where her shampoo was. She asked me why and I told her. She said it was in the back of the tub and I told Applejack. I turned on the water and adjusted it to a comfortable temperature and left. Applejack thanked me and closed the door and I went back to my room and sat at my computer.

"So video games are?"

"Ok you put a disc in the console and it shows up on the T.V. I don't really know much about it and no you can't take it a part."

"Ok? And how do you play?"

"Well that all depends on the game you play but you play using the controller and that sends signals to the console and that allows you to control the character your playing as."

"I see. Interesting. You humans are much more technologically advanced then I thought!"

"Yeah maybe too advanced..."

"What do you mean?"

I shook my head "Nevermind."

"Ok?" She moved over to my rifle. "And what is this?"

"It's my rifle."

"And that is?"

"A weapon. Or at least it was, well maybe not sure if it was actually used in World War Two. But anyway, yeah a weapon."

"Fascinating. We only have swords in Equestria. What does it do?"

"It shoots a projectile at long range."

"Hmm...magic can do that..."

"I know."

She laughed nervously. "Uh....yeah, so what does it shoot."

"A 7.62x54R round." I handed her one of the rounds. "And that's what it looks like." She grabbed it with her magic and examined it and started to take it apart. "What are you doing!?"

She jumped a little bit and dropped the taken apart round on the floor. "I'm sorry! I was just trying to figure out how it works!"

"Now there's powder on my fucking floor. Dammit." I sighed. "You should have told me before just going and doing it. I could have gotten a paper towel for you."

"You're not mad?"

I looked at her. "I am now since there's powder on my floor but other then that, no." She looked relieved and the bathroom doorknob jiggled and after a minute stopped. I chuckled and walked over to the door and knock on it. "Need help?"

"Yeah Ah do." I opened the door. "Thank ya kindly."

"No problem." She walked back into my room and I went to get a paper towel for Twilight and walked but to my room afterwards. "Here ya go Twilight. Now let's see how it works." She nodded and used her magic to lift the powder off of my floor and with the bullet and the casing.

She but everything on the paper towel. "Hmm...well if I was to make an educated guess. I would say that the powder was the propellant but what causes the propellant to project the bullet?" She looked at me for the answer.

"The firing pin of the gun hits the primer and that causes a spark which ignites the powder and due to the build up of gasses the bullet is propelled forward. All of this happens as soon as the trigger is pulled."

"Interesting."

"Yep. Are you done now it's getting kinda late."

She looked for a clock but couldn't find one. I showed her my watch and she agreed that is was getting late. She hopped onto her and Applejack's bed and laid down. I closed my computer, crawled into me bed and did the same but instead of trying to go to sleep I played on my iPod for awhile.

And so the cycle starts anew.
