Found footage from the expedition indicates that the crew was attacked by a Miniequus pastelhorsei. Normally peaceful, it’s believed that the crew intruded into the Miniequus’s territory during mating season and was unprepared for the violent response to the intrusion. Our thoughts are with those who’ve lost loved ones on this expedition. No footage of Sir David Attenborough was recovered, and the fate of this national treasure remains unknown.
