I sat on top of a solitary hill on the edge of Ponyville. My red eyes pierced the dim moonlight as I scanned the town before I turned my attention towards the ever mysterious Everfree and took off, flying parallel to the treeline.
I loved the night, this was partly due to the fact that I am a vampire but also because at night I can truly be by myself, litually. This was because during the day I have to hide my more prominent features such as my red eyes and my leathery bat-like wings along with my pointy fangs. This was because if anypony found out I was a Vampire I would be shunned or killed. Now you are all probably wondering how I am awake during the daytime this is because of an urban myth contrary to popular belief vampires can walk around at daytime l. They are just extremely weak and don't typically feed unless a vampire is crimsoning which only happens when a vampire is starving or is extremely angered.
A crimsoning is where a vampire becomes out of control and starts attacking everything that moves. If this starts happening when you are near one then you are screwed unless you have something sharp to impale the vampire through the heart with as that is the only way to truly way to eliminate a vampire.
I was scanning for my midnight snack when I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. I smirk when I noticed a great big manticore in the center of a clearing. Licking my lips I soared over to the beast and got into a pouncing pose. That's when it noticed me, growling It whipped up its scorpion tail and attempted to strike me. However before it could even move I was already zooming over to the backside of the creature where I bent low and jumped, being only a small filly I could only jump a limited amount of height, however this was still enough for jump on its back where I avoided its smacking paws while teasing in a sing song voice "aww, why're you hitting you self, why're you hitting yourself"
I giggled I loved playing with my food like this however before I could inject my venom into its spine, it stood up onto its hind legs before landing on its back. Luckily I had managed to fly off and avoid getting turned into vampire pancakes. This gave me the chance to attack, I lunged for its neck and sunk my fangs deep into its fleshy neck. I sucked a little bit of blood out not enough to kill but enough to knock out the fighting manticore. Contrary to popular belief, vampires rarely ever killed. The only time a vampire kills is during crimsoning, when threatened, feeding after being hungry for so long or when feeding for the first time. I distinctly remember my first kill. The unfortunate victim was my own mother it was why I was without a home as my father went livid he vowed to hunt me down and kill me. It was also the reason why I only feed off of animals as I never want to make the same mistake. I closed my eyes and shuddered while trying to hold back tears. I then flown back to the clubhouse where I hung out with my two bestest friends, Sweetie Belle and Applebloom. When I arrived back at the clubhouse I immediately turned my bat wings back to pegasi wings along with all my other vampire traits. I sighed longingly, because I had to change my wing type meant that I couldn't fly unless they were the bat wings. As I am a vampire I don't sleep so to pass the time I took out a daring do book and started to read.

As morning rolled around I picked up my saddle bags and set off for school because even vampires it seemed had to go to school. Grabbing my scooter, which was the closest I had to flying, I took of a speeds that would make my idol Rainbow Dash proud, I had arrived at school just as Sweetie Belle and Applebloom had arrived.
"Hey girls" I shouted with a large smile and my puny, pegasus wings buzzing like a hummingbird.
"Hi Scootaloo" they both said in unison however there wasn't much time to chat as the school bell had rungs and Miss Cheerilee had started calling us in.
While Miss Cheerilee droned on about solving Maths equations, I was watching the clock because why would I need to solve a plus b. Then just when I was getting irritated to bell finally rung for recess "Thank Celestia" I muttered to myself. I brung my empty sheet over to Cheerilee where she raised her eyebrows.
"Really Scootaloo" Cheerilee stated bluntly. I chuckled noncholantly however before I could make an excuse she added "you can have that back this will be your homework which I expect on Monday with ALL, the right answeres" nodding I then took the sheet back before wiping sweat of my forehead.
I walked over to Sweetie Belle and Applebloom who were munching on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Applebloom then asked "why don't yah eat anything?"
Before I could answer I heard a snort "Because the blank flank chicken is too poor to eat anything" the snobbish voice of Diamond Tiarra interrupted.
I felt my face got hot with anger I tried to breath in slowly in attempt to calm myself down but then Diamond continued her assault "Her parents must have kicked her blank flank out. Hmph I don't blame them If I were a pegasus I would be ashamed to -"
"SHUT UP" I screamed my vision turning red. I felt my fangs protruding themselves but I didn't care. I hissed at the now cowering bully. I noticed through fear filled eyes of Diamond Tiarra my reflection which showed my in my Vampire form but for once I did not care. I knew I was crimsoning which meant that it was too late. I could hear the voices of my friends which were oddly muffled and felt like they were speaking under water. I then lunged at the spoilt brat. I ripped her precious Tiarra of and snappes it in two. Everypony was surprised at my strength. Baring my fangs I moved in in for the kill I leaped onto the filly and turned her around she seemed to be paralysed in fear but I was going to paralyse her for good. Sinking my fangs, which injected venom, deep into the base of her spine I knew the venom wasn't deadly but if it was injected into a creatures spines it would instantly damage the spinal chord so much it would paralyse Diamond Tiarra for the rest of her life. Laughing I was about to bite into her neck when all of a sudden I felt an immense burning in my side where I was blasted off of her. Enraged I looked at the pony who blasted me. It was Twilight Sparkle and her friends including my idol Rainbow Dash, they all looked horrified except from Twilight who was surprised and said something that sounded like "that was supposed to knock her out" I just grinned.
Before I pounced again I felt something hit the back of my head I turned around see my friends in tears with Applebloom picking up what looked like a rock. I hissed at her but when I was about to lung again I hesitated. Applebloom must've noticed a look of recognition on my face as she started walking towards me with her hoof out to me. I then punched her so hard I I heard a crunch coming form her nose that was now spitting out blood I then bit her hoof and grabbed onto her face I then felt a rope lasso me away from Applebloom who had been knocked out before I could look around I saw an orange hoof fly to my face repeatedly but I didn't feel anything until started feeling the blows. I realised that my crimsoning was wearing of this only happened to enraged Vampires when they had calmed down. My face now felt like it was getting hammered until I blacked out...
