~Roses and Thorns~
~Chapter 5~
~Stupid Goons,~
Rose was getting tired, fell to the ground and hesitated,
"Zach, I can't, run, any, more."
Zach nodded.
"Yeah, maybe we should rest up in that tree for a while?"
Rose looked up seeing an abnormally shaped tree.
"Well, okay. It's a weird looking tree though. Hey, I think there's something in it!"
Rose got up and looked seeing a piece of dark yellow paper.
"Zach, I can't reach, give me a boost up,"
Zach bent down.
"Okay, get on my, OW! Shoulders...."
Rose was already getting on his shoulders, Zach was moving around and then they both fell down.
"Ahh!"
Zory and his boss heard their squeal and head in that direction.
"Come on Zory! The amulet is that much closer that I can smell it!"
"Yeah. Smell it. Right boss."
Zory sniffed the air.
"Smells pretty bad though."
Then he sniffed himself.
"No wait, that's just me."
Zory and his boss then arrived to see Rose and Zach lying down on the grass and the amulet around Roses neck.
"Ah, what do we have here?"
Zory ripped off the string holding the necklace and he stuffed it in his pocket.
"Now that we have the amulet, you can scram kids! We don't need you no more!"
Zory and his boss were admiring their piece of work and then Rose got up.
"My family needs that money. Give it back! It's not yours!"
"Finders keepers."
They both laughed.
"Oh really? Well, I guess you beat us. You have the amulet. We'll scram."
"Rose? What are you do-"
Rose covered Zach's mouth.
"Shh, I have a plan."
"Well, I guess will be off then. Even though the amulet has no value. It's just a center piece now. It's a has been. Not worth ANYTHING."
Zory and his boss looked over.
"But, you said your family NEEDS THE MONEY."
"No, I said my family wants it to be the center piece of their living room."
"Oh, well then, since it's worthless, here you go." Zory's boss tossed it into Rose's hooves.
"Thanks, my mom and dad will really love this for their living room."
"Yeah, whatever kid. Now scram!"
Rose helped Zach up and they grabbed the dark yellow piece of paper and ran south.
"Yes! We fooled them Zach!"
"Yeah, I guess so. This is awesome!"
"Come on, let's go find the other pieces!"
Rose and Zach ran off excitedly.
